I do not own Vampire Knight.
Shit it's been a long time hasn't it? I'm so sorry guys but life just went a bit crap for awhile and I lost all interest in writing until recently sooooo, please enjoy. No flames but constructive criticism is always welcomed.
They sent Akastuki back to the ballroom to speak with Kaname.
"I'm sorry that the ball has turned into this." Aido told her.
"It's fine." She replied, "I can't dance anyway."
"I wouldn't have let you fall." He promised.
"Hanabusa…" She stated slowly.
He gave her a weak smile. "Koneko," Aido nodded.
They trailed the grounds and were about to enter in through a door when Aido spun, ice flying through the air and on the ground before being met by blazing fire and melting instantly to be nothing more then mist.
Akastuki,
"Oh it's you." Aido stated.
"Listen will you two stop?"
They were shocked and it must have told on their faces.
"We have no idea what Kuran-sama is planning right now and until we do-"
"You're wrong!" Aido shouted shocking not only Koneko and Akastuki but himself too.
"Why-why won't he tell us what he's planning? I've told president Kuran that I'll always be on his side. That no matter what happens I'm with him!"
"Hanabusa…" Akastuki began,
"If you stop us I won't forgive you!" Aido swore and turned into the doorway running and pulling Koneko along with him.
They ended up outside Kaname Kuran's old room as they listened to the last words of a dying Shizuka Hio.
"…You have drank the blood of another Pureblood…you have gained, new powers but now an ominous future awaits you. Only jet black darkness lies in your path now….Kaname."
"I'm well aware of that."
Koneko touched her head in slight pain and shock as the aura and essence of Shizuka Hio began to leave the world.
Lord Kaname killed Shizuka Hio…
Koneko slumped against the wall.
-TWO WEEKS LATER -
"The disintegrated body of Shizuka Hio was all that remained. And the Chairman told us he had, taken care of Zero." Kain explained. "That's it, that's what I witnessed."
"I see…" Kaname nodded, "Kiryu had enough reasons to kill that woman, but I don't think he would do something so rash. However, it can't be helped if it appears that he had in fact killed her."
Aido stared at him and the pureblood asked what was wrong.
"No…nothing."
"Hm, well in any case I must report to the Senate. It's the fact that, someone has committed the greatest taboo. They have dared to do the unspeakable by killing a pureblood. It's tragic…. People gave her the cruel nickname of Kuruizaki-hime. I wonder… if anyone truly understood her."
When they exited the room Kain was unsurprised to see Koneko leaning against the other wall. His cousin had barely let the Mizuchi girl out of his sight and silently they continued outside.
"I can tell by the way you're acting that something's bothering you Hanabusa." He stated.
"Hey, Akastuki, how much do you know about Shizuka Hio?" He asked.
"She was out of control; she was dangerous to both vampires and humans. She attacked the Kiryu family after going berserk, and then she disappeared and turned up here. That's all I know."
"She was regarded as a nuisance and ostracized, but still she was a rare pureblood." Hanabusa said and they continued to walk. "I know that she had a pureblood fiancée but for some reason, she started to keep a human male by her side. To be exact he was a vampire who used to be human. A servant and Shizuka loved him. But he was put on the vampire's execution list and so the Kiryu's hunted him down. But…the servant had not yet fallen to Level E status."
"So there was no reason for him to be on the execution list." Kain said.
"It's the same as saying she was out of control. I always wondered why Maras felt familiar and it was only when I felt her that I knew. I've met Shizuka Hio once." Koneko confessed.
The other two stopped to stare at her and the purple eyed girl kept her eyes fixated on the lake. "Once… at home, I was with friends and she was there. Sitting in a tree. I knew she was a vampire. She felt like one. She felt like Jiren but colder. I remember telling her to be in the city she needed my family's permission… I didn't know who I was talking too but she wasn't berserk. I've met out of control vampires. Their auras are coming apart at the seams. Hers wasn't. It was just…grey. Like she'd nothing else to give. And nothing less to lose. Acceptance. Finality. A terrifying peace."
"So why would she attack the Kiryu's?"
"Revenge." Aido decided.
"No matter what the reason. A pureblood shouldn't have gone after the hunters. The Kiryu home was on the outskirts of Kyoto. Within the peace limit. We're non-violence, no tolerance city. The only permitted deaths are Level-Es. She broke an ancient law." Koneko's voice was steel. "Her death would have been demanded."
"I agree." Kain nodded. "Most aristocrats want peace, not conflict. Her actions were the same as one who'd gone crazy."
"Shizuka Hio had proven to be high risk to the Senate. They must have been searching for her relentlessly. And Shizuka was probably on the run, fleeing from the Senate. So why would she risk it? Why would she come to Cross Academy?" Hanabusa asked himself more then he asked them. "She knew she wouldn't be welcome here!"
"Another act of madness?" Kain offered.
"No, if Koneko didn't sense madness from her then I believe her. You're wrong Akastuki. There was something she wanted here. And I don't think she's the only one who wanted it. Someone else was looking for it as well." Hanabusa decided placing his hand on his cousin's shoulder.
-HUNTER'S ASSOCIATION-
Kaien opened the door. "How's Zero?"
Yagari shook his head. "It's no use…I've even administered medicine."
Zero himself was chained to the wall, eyes blood red and his tattoo glowed as well. Upon smelling the fresh new blood his head shot up and he screamed, trying to go for Kaien but his bounds would not give in.
"That's….enough…" Zero hissed shocking the other two.
"Zero-"
"Please," He weakly and angrily begged. "Kill me."
Yagari pulled out his gun but Kaien put a hand on his arm.
"Listen Zero." The Chairman of Cross Academy said. "Yuki is waiting for you."
All fight seemed to leave him. "Yu….ki…"
A loud bang frightened them and the humans hid in fear of it being the Senate.
However, it was Kaname.
But they didn't know that.
Outside Yagari stopped Kaien.
"There's something else." He said pulling a letter from his pocket. "Shanghai."
"Shanghai? That has nothing to do with me-"
"It does now."
Confused Kaien took the letter and read the contents, his eyes widening.
"How many?"
"Four. Apparently."
Kaien sighed and pocketed the letter. "When we get back to the Academy. I'll make a call. Then and only then. Will she be notified,"
So I disappear for over a year and come back with a cliff hanger? Oh I'm horrible I know.
No flames people, I can't stand unnecessary nastiness, but constructive criticism is always welcome. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve this story!
Drop me a few lines, what do you think happened/are happening?
