Sorry about the wait! I thought I posted this chapter yesterday, but apparently it didn't posted.
(Eddie P.O.V)
After hours of arguing in Hans' office, I finally agreed to show my father Mia's creepy room, but refused to give anything away. So, here we are in the Rinaldi's apartment. Christian and I stood in the middle of the room while my father calmly talked to Mr. Rinaldi just outside in the hallway. Mia's father was doing a lot of head shaking and babbling, none of it really made any sense to me. I turned my attention away from them and on the room before me.
Christian got all the pictures off the wall around Mia's desk. Two duffle bags lay on the floor near the open closet where the filing cabinets are at. That pretty much sums up what Christian and I accomplished in the few hours we had until Mr. Rinaldi decided to come home earlier than he usually did. Everything seems to be in the same spot where we left it.
What I don't understand is why would Mia hide everyone's life stories in documents and store them in filing cabinets? Well, everyone's, but mine, Rose's or Mason's life stories? I mean Mia has a million pictures of us three around the room in plain sight where anyone can just walk in and see them.
I don't know if bringing my father to see Mia's creepy room is a good or bad thing. So far he hasn't asked Christian or me any questions, but that's only because he's busy dealing with a now weeping Mr. Rinaldi. Only a few people know about this room and what it holds. The first ones to know are Mia and Mason; this is Mia's creepy room where she does all her planning, but how Mason know about this room?
"Hey, I still say she's obsessed with you guys," Christian whispered to me. "Out right obsessed."
I have to agree with Christian on this one. For the longest time, we all thought Mia was obsessed with destroying Lissa because her older brother Andre dumped Mia before he died in a car accident, but now we know the truth. She's not only obsessed with Lissa, but also with Rose, Mason and me, and this room is proof of that.
"You're right, Christian," I said at last, turning to face him. "Do you know what this means?"
"Yeah, it means she's a crazy bitch who is obsessed with you guys," he answered in a low voice.
Shaking my head, I said, "yes it means that, but it also means she knows our secret. The one we all promised to keep years ago."
I could tell realization finally sank in when Christian started shaking his head and looking between me and the pictures on the walls. I made up my mind, bringing my father here to see this was a very bad idea. The more who know about Mia's creepy room, the more dangerous this all around, I walked out into the hallway where my father was just finishing up talking to Mr. Rinaldi.
Once Mr. Rinaldi was settled on the couch in the living room, I came up to my father and quietly said, "I need to talk to you. It's important." Extremely important.
"What is, Eddie?" my father asked, focusing his attention on his only son.
"You have to trust me when I say no one can know about this room. Not even Mr. Rinaldi."
"Eddie, I do trust you..." That's an understatement. "...but, Mr. Rinaldi lives here. He was going to find out about his daughter's secret room sooner or later."
"He wouldn't of found out if you would've just followed my plan and pull him out of here, so Christian and I could finish what we started," I said a little more harshly than I meant to.
My father and I stood in the middle of the hallway staring at each other. Why can't he just trust me on this? I'm so stupid! I knew shouldn't have brought him here to see Mia's creepy room. Why did I ever believe I can trust this man? When it comes to things like the secret, my father needs to realize there's a lot more at stake than he knows.
"Listen," I said more calmly. "I don't have all the details right now, but what I do know is that no one can know about this room and I need you to trust me on this."
"What's so special about this room that no one can know about it?" my father asked.
"The room itself isn't special. The items in the room however are special. Like I said earlier, I don't have all the details, but if you let Christian and I take what need from the room I will have all the details and hopefully more."
My father sighed and shook his head. "When you have all the details, can I trust you to tell me them?"
I didn't have time to respond when Christian came up beside me and started talking. "I hate to interrupt, but I thought I should let you both know that Dimitri is on his way over here right now to help us clean out the room."
"Where do you plan on keeping all this stuff once you cleaned the room out?" my father asked Christian.
"We don't know yet," I answered quickly. "Christian, I need to talk to you privately."
Getting the hint that I want to be alone with Christian, my father walked into the living room and sat down next to Mr. Rinaldi on the couch. Christian and I moved into Mia's creepy room to have more privacy to talk.
"Why is Dimitri coming?" I asked Christian quietly. "I thought him and Rose were at the hospital with Lissa."
"From what he told me, the doctor released Lissa an hour ago and now she's at the Belikov apartment with Rose, Sonya and the kids," he answered annoyingly. "I just hope they still lock up that bitch for hurting my wife."
"Lissa must be alright if the doctor released her."
Crossing his arms over his chest, Christian said, "I know that, but it still doesn't means that bitch is off the hook."
"Will you stop calling Mia a bitch. I understand you hate her, but that doesn't give you the right to call her childish names," I noted, giving him a pointed look. "Anyways, we might want to finish bagging everything up while Hans and Mr. Rinaldi are in the other room."
Nodding his head, Christian walked toward a wall still filled from ceiling to floor with more pictures of Rose, Mason and me. Leaving the filing cabinets for when Dimitri comes, I headed for Mia's desk. Opening the top drawer, I wasn't surprised about what was inside. Pulling the documents out of the drawer, I laid them on top of the desk.
I was curious to see what information the numerous documents held, but knew I should wait until later to find out. Sighing, I opened the second drawer and pulled out more documents, laying them on top of the others. Man, where does Mia get all these documents from? They most likely were her father's until she got a death grip on them. I mean there has to be at least a hundred documents all together if you count the four desk drawers and the closet filled with filing cabinets that I'm guessing were her father's too.
"Saving the filing cabinets for me, I see," a Russian accent spoke from somewhere behind me.
"You're the strongest one out of the three of us, so Eddie and I decided to leave you the heaviest job," Christian smirked. "I mean unless you would prefer to pull millions of pictures off the walls-"
"You brought boxes with you," I interrupted Christian and mentally kicked myself for not thinking of bringing boxes to put the documents and pictures in.
Dimitri set the boxes down on the floor beside the two duffle bags I filled up earlier. "I'm guessing those bags are full."
"Clear up to the top."
"I see."
With that Dimitri and I began to fill up the boxes with documents. Honestly, I'm getting tired of seeing documents. They're the kind of documents that are all plain and boring. If they going to make documents they can at least make non-boring ones. I mean a person can only take in so much documents before they go crazy. It's a wonder I'm not bouncing of the walls or pulling my hair out. Not that I really want to do that, but I'm just saying.
"I've had it with these all pictures..." Christian trailed off as he threw down another ripped picture. "Why couldn't she just stuff them in a drawer or in a filling cabinet instead of hanging them on the wall?"
"I don't know, Christian," I said, folding the top of a box shut and taping it. "Can you please hurry up though without ripping anymore of them."
"Wait, I thought I had the hardest job?" Dimitri asked. "From the looks of it, Christian, I think you have the hardest job."
"Thanks a lot," I told Dimitri. "Now he's never going to shut up."
Just like I said, Christian went on and on about God knows what. After coming in multiple times to tell us repeatedly to keep it down, my father finally decided to leave the apartment with Mr. Rinaldi. After what felt like hours, we were finally done boxing everything up in the room. Since Dimitri lives on the other side court, we had to make several trips to and from the Rinaldi's apartment.
(At the Belikov Apartment)
"What do you mean you showed him Mia's creepy room?" Rose exclaimed, throwing her arms up in the air for dramatic affect. "Do you know what this means, Eddie? I can't believe you-"
"Roza," Dimitri said softly, coming up next to his wife. "You can't get angry with Eddie about this. He did what he thought was the right thing to do even if it meant showing his father Mia's creepy room without telling us first."
"He promised me he wouldn't say a word to anyone," I chimed in which only earned me a glare from Rose and a small nod from Dimitri. "Look, I understand that I shouldn't of done that without telling you guys first and I'm sorry."
I am sorry that I didn't tell Rose and Dimitri first, but I had to act fast. I just hope my father keeps his promise to me. I mean if I didn't show him Mia's creepy room then Christian and I would still be in his office and not in Rose's and Dimitri's apartment.
"You don't have to be sorry, Eddie," Rose sighed, rubbing her fairly large stomach. "I'm just overwhelmed with all the boxes and duffle bags that took up the entire dinning table and matching chairs."
Walking over to my little sister, I wrapped my arms around her in semi-tight hug. "It's okay, Rose."
"We might have to call for backup," Lissa said, looking at the dinning table with wide eyes.
Pulling out his phone from his pants pocket, Christian said, "I'll send a "911" group message to our family."
"Until our "backup" arrives, we might want to start sorting through some of these boxes and duffle bags," Sonya said. "Rose, where do you the scissors at?"
"They're in the drawer where we keep the knives," Rose answered, hugging me back.
We didn't really have to wait long for our "backup" to come because it mostly consisted of Jill, Janine, Abe and Mikhail. Once our whole family was here, we went straight to work. Us men opened up the boxes and duffle bags, and set them on the floor for the women sort through and put into piles. While we were doing this, the kids were in Tyler's room playing with toys and watching movies.
Sorry again for the wait!
Thanks(:
