I don't own WK! All mistakes are, of course, mine! Maybe...
The first thing that Chris noticed as he awoken was that he wasn't in the woods anymore. Instead of open air and tall green trees, there were pale white walls with weird objects all around the room. There was a soft comfy blanket thing under his feet instead of green grass and bushy bushes. Around the room, there were two bluish doors, one facing him and the other behind him.
The door in front of him slid open in a quick motion and a lady strolled through. She didn't seem like a very mean person but one could never be too careful. She had long black hair that was strung up in a ponytail and she also had storm grey eyes that looked a bit tired as if she was worried and hadn't slept in a while. She was wearing a long-sleeved jacket that was yellow with a blue strip running from her shoulder to her wrist that had a dark purple shirt underneath. She had long blue jeans with a belt that hung loosely on her and had purple and white shoes.
"It's ok." She stated while holding out her hand in a friendly way after she walked close enough to Chris.
"Hisssssss." Chris tried to stand up and make himself look tougher but he could only hiss.
"Oh, poor little lince." She walked a little closer to him and he hissed lowly once again, "It's ok. No one's going to hurt you."
She continued to coax him and he continued to hiss at her until she got close enough to touch him. Slowly and quietly, she reached out with her hand expecting to get batted away from him, but he only stared at her with confusion. When she reached over to lift him, he only hissed a little so she put him in her arms carefully and traveled back out the door that she had just entered when she had come to get him.
After the doors slid open in a fluid quick and stopped with a quiet click, they entered a brighter room that had a huge table-like thing in the middle. There were gigantic flat things hanging on the walls and a lady was messing with one of them. A guy was sleeping on one of the floating chairs and there was a tasty-looking layered thing on the weird table beside him. The girl holding Chris, gently laid him onto the huge table in the middle of the room.
"Hey, Aviva!" Came a voice from the other side of another door, "How's he doing?"
"He's doing a lot better than when he arrived but," Aviva looked at Chris sadly, "He still has to heal."
"Of course." In walked a guy who was wearing almost all blue except his under shirt and his shorts and boots.
That's the one that saved me from those bad people.
"Hey, Martin." The other lady said over at the door without looking up from her typing.
"Hey, Koki." Martin's tone grew gloom and he sighed sadly.
"Still can't find him?" Aviva questioned even though she sounded like she knew what the answer was.
"No." Martin walked over to Chris, who was sitting so that he didn't put much weight on his hurt arm. Slowly he moved his hand onto Chris' head and petted him absently while Chris leaned into his touch.
"I searched for hours and I still can't find him." Martin continued, "If only I hadn't gotten mad at him and had listened to what he was trying to say."
"Martin," Koki actually stopped typing to look up at Martin, "It's not your fault!"
"But-" Martin wasn't able to continue.
"But nothing." Koki gave him a 'you know I'm right' look that softened, "Yeah, you messed up and yes, you should have listened to him when he tried to tell you what happened but it wasn't your fault! You were worried about Berry! And what would he say?"
"I couldn't find him-" Martin was stopped.
"No." Aviva picked up from Koki, "Chris would want you to save the lynx and you did."
"But..." Martin saw the stares the two were throwing at him, "Yeah, I guess so. It's just that he's been gone for five days!"
Everyone looked down at the floor with tears hanging on their tired eyes. All of a sudden, there was a laugh.
"Haa." Martin started to laugh and looked down at the tickling sensation on his arm to find Chris nudging him, "Whoa. That tickles! Wait, what if- nah that's not likely."
"What?" Both Aviva and Koki asked at the same time.
"This lynx showed up only two days later then when Berry and Chris disappeared." Martin looked down at Chris sadly, "I just thought that maybe this lynx was Chris, but it's probably wishful hoping."
"We'll find him!" Aviva stated encouragingly.
"Yeah." Martin said distractedly and stood up heading for the automatic door that lead to the outside of the Tortuga.
"Where are you going?" Koki asked curiously while Aviva tried to stop him.
"I'm going outside to get some fresh air." Martin stated numbly and walked out. Both Aviva and Koki looked at each other and then back at the door that just closed.
"Wha?" Came another voice from the other side of the room, "What's going on?"
"Hey, Jimmy." Aviva stated tiredly while turning to the door, "We're going out with Martin."
"Oh," Jimmy looked out on of the windows to see Martin sitting on the ground, "I'm coming with."
"Ok," Koki entered the door after Aviva and Jimmy followed them outside.
Soon Chris looked around in panic.
Why are they gone so long? What if the bad mean people come to get me?! Would they let them take me? NO! They wouldn't do that! Would they?
Just then there was a disruptive BANG from a screw driver hitting the floor by Aviva's inventing station. Being so lost in his panic-stricken thoughts, he leaped into the air quickly and lost his precise foothold on the tabletop. He's back paws skidded over the smooth edge and he grabbed hold of the counter with his front paws. But his right shoulder, which now was bandaged up, burned as if the graze were getting stretched apart and he fell to the floor. Trying not to land on his already pain-filled arm, he twisted to his left side but landed awkwardly on his back.
Even though the fall was only three feet and he was two feet tall at the shoulder, the surprising noise didn't let him have enough time to prepare himself for the fall. Laying on his back, he rolled over to get up but neon green sparks sprinkled out of his chest and went everywhere until a blinding green filled the white room. In a minute, it stopped completely just in time.
Right after it quit shining, Martin entered the Tortuga with the whole crew.
"What happened in here?" Martin asked quickly and everyone else gasped.
Figured this was as good as any time to leave a cliffie. Thanks for the reviews and keep reading my stories! Lince means lynx in Spanish and I don't know if the Hispanic version is the same because the languages are a lot alike! So enjoy! Please R&R&R (read, review, remember to review) 0,o O,-
