OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY! I haven't posted in almost two years! My inspirations for the stories came and went, came and went, died for quite a while, came for a fleeting moment and died again. I have some back now, so I decided to post something. Hopefully this clears up quite a few questions and lowers accusations about my motives. Now, on with the chapter!
Must get to him…
Footsteps barely echoed along the cold ground, hurrying to their destination. Excitement and worry hung in the air like a cloud.
Diana hurried to the one place she dreaded going to, but had to. She had to see her beloved, and soon. It was torture to see him suffer so much, but what choice did she have?
She hated it. She hated it so much, but it was all they could do for now, especially when they were so close.
So close.
Diana walked quietly down the long corridors, listening to the terror of screams that passed her, the screams that haunted her every night as she lay awake. She vowed to relinquish those in peril as soon as she could.
She missed him.
She missed him dearly. She missed the nights where she could cuddle next to her husband and kiss him happily, the nights where she and he would cuddle next to each other in bed, whispering gleefully to each other all night. She missed when going to bed actually had a meaning.
Finally reaching her destination, Diana checked the hallway before walking further. Two guards stood outside the heavy door. "Move aside," she demanded.
The guard on the right sneered at her. "Or else what, girly? You'll snap our necks?"
Not even two seconds later both guards were on the ground, groaning. She fished a key from the guard's pocket and opened the door, closing and locking it back.
It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the slightly dimmer room, scouting the entirety of it. Sitting on Apokolips' version of a bed was a man wearing tattered clothing. A beard covered most of his face, and blue shining eyes stared right back at her. His signature curl was still there.
Diana smiled warmly. "Hello, Kal."
Clark smiled back and stood up, both of them meeting in the middle, joined into a hug. "Diana, oh how I've missed you. How have you been?"
The demigoddess breathed in his scent. It was still as strong as when they first were brought to Apokolips, fresh as the forests she often flew past. "Me? I've been worried sick about you. They don't treat you kindly here, you know."
Clark smirked, raising a shackled arm. The tattered sleeve fell a bit, revealing a small, very thin band around said wrist. His eyes seemed to smile too, and Diana slowly ran a hand over his chest. The muscle was there, hiding, ready to be put into action.
"I can't wait until I can get out of here," Clark said, sitting him and Diana on the bed. "To hold you as you sleep, to kiss you awake in the morning to...Oh, Rao, I forgot."
Diana turned to him. "Forgot what, love?"
"About our daughter...she's here too, you know."
The demigoddess flinched. She hadn't forgotten. She hated how she had to treat Lara, to be the woman she despised, but it had to be done. It had to be until they were ready. "I am aware, Kal. I cannot bear this much longer...I hurt her constantly. I don't know if it causes her actual pain or not but given the looks I receive from her constantly, I would say so."
Clark hugged her tightly, brushing a few strands of stray hair from her face. He placed a hand on her back and started to rub. "I promise, in due time, she'll understand. I promise. She won't be kept in the dark forever."
Diana sighed, snuggling closer to Clark. "At least our son isn't kept oblivious, but I am sorry that the rumour about him had to be told."
Destroyer, or called Kai, what they called him, was not Clark's biological son though a heated and passionate session between them. Coincidentally, Darkseid had his DNA specified to impregnate Diana. The cells never lived, but Clark's did.
At that moment a knock came at the door. Diana started to rise, but stopped when Clark grabbed her arm. "Come in," he called.
The door opened, revealing curly raven hair and blue eyes. Gone was the usual mask, showing his soft features. His eyes were much kinder, reflecting his mother's gaze. "Are you two okay?" He asked, nervously rubbing his hands together.
Clark smiled. "Yes. Are you? We know how much you hate our current situation."
"I hate it so much..." Kai mumbled. "I don't want to be mean to big sister. But you two told me I have to, just for a little longer."
The boy was only nine years old, but being that he was born and raised under Darkseid's apprenticeship, and Diana's tutelage, he was wiser than most children his age. "Mother?"
Diana smiled at her son. "Yes?"
"When will we begin the invasion?"
Clark and Diana looked at each other before a smirk stretched their lips in unison. "Soon, very, very soon."
A/N: And there you go. Not nearly as long as I would've liked, but as I said before, it's something, right?
Now I'm deciding on what story to update next, and since it's been over a year since I updated my last Justice League story my writing has, again, vividly improved, and I have yet another idea for a story, heh. Hopefully I'll post it soon.
Oh yeah, also, Forgotten is now up for decisions on updating. Just to let you know, heh.
Comments and criticism are welcomed.
