Love is...

… when it's just great being together.

Kuroko was happy, no, he was excited, no, he was something above happy and excited, he felt like he was flying! Like he had just won the championship basketball game and became the best basketball player ever! No! Even more exciting than that, like he was about to marry Kagami! Yes! Yes!

That's not what was happening today though; today Kagami had promised Kuroko a full day to himself as payment for helping him ace his Japanese Midterm (Kuroko being very good with Japanese himself). He's been waiting for this day for weeks now, the only day that Kagami didn't have school or practice and was completely free being on this holiday. Whatever the holiday was, Kuroko thanked it and cheered as he got dressed and ready.

First they would get something to eat, Kagami was bound to be hungry, and then since Kuroko just got his allowance they would go to the video game store and buy this new video game he's been wanting, after they would head to the shoe store and buy a new pair of shoes since Kuroko's are much too worn out to play basketball, then finally maybe after another bite to eat they would head over Kagami's house and play his new video game until it was time to go! The perfect day! If anything else came along the way, Kuroko would gladly accept it, but for right now as he planned everything this was all he really wanted.

"Mom! I'm heading out now!" Kuroko yelled running down the stairs.

"Do you have your phone? And your wallet?"

"Yes and yes! Bye Mom! I'll be back soon!"

"Be safe Tetsuya!"

Kuroko started running town the street with a smile on his face, rushing to meet Kagami up at the park. His hat flew off and he turned around, picking it up and dusting it off before putting it back on his head. He started walking a little bit slower this time, taking his time as he crossed the street. Today was going to be so much fun when they met up! Kuroko couldn't wait! There was a huge smile, small imaginary sparkles and bubbles floating around his face as he crossed that last street and walked inside of the park.

Kagami ran a hand through his hair, cursing at how hot it was outside. What was with this weather? Even though he was wearing some basketball shorts and a tank top he was still sweating and burning up. He sighed out loudly and leaned back in his seat, yawning loudly as he waited for that kid to come. Knowing him he was probably super excited and wanted to be here early, so Kagami came even earlier so such a young kid like him wouldn't be waiting at a park all alone. So now he was stuck here sitting in the heat twenty minutes before they were supposed to meet, waiting.

"Um- excuse me?"

Kagami grunted as he looked up, seeing a group of girls standing ahead of him. There were three of them, two with brunette hair, one blonde, smiling and giggling as they stood in front of me.

"Huh?" He hummed.

"Are you alone right now?" The first girl asked.

"Yeah, would you like to go somewhere with us?" The second one asked next.

"You aren't waiting for a girlfriend, are you?" The last one giggled.

Was this really happening to him? Was Kagami really getting hit on right now sweating like crazy, probably looking irritated as hell sitting in the sun? And with three beautiful women? Two his type, but he wouldn't mind the third one either? Honestly?

"Uh," he ummed.

"You aren't busy, right? Come on, let's go have some fun!" The blonde giggled grabbing his hand.

"Excuse me, but he's my date for today."

The three girls and Kagami all looked down and over, seeing a little boy with bright blue hair and icy eyes staring up at them with a huge pout on his face.

"Aw! He's so cute!"

"You're such a cutie, aren't you?"

"Is this guy your little brother? Want to go out with your big sisters as well?"

"Kagami, you promised me a date. Let's go." Kuroko pouted bigger, adding a stomp.

Was this kid being serious? Did he not see these girls?

"Kuroko, how about invi-"

"Kagami," Kuroko growled lightly.

Kagami sighed loudly and leaned over, walking right past the girls and grabbing his hand as he started dragging him away. That was probably a once in a life time opportunity that was ever going to happen to him and Kuroko just went a ruined it... but a promise was a promise.

"You know what you just did, right?" Kagami asked.

"I'm mad at you; this was our day and you tried to ditch me." Kuroko grumbled.

He was right... he was right... "I'm sorry kid."

Kuroko looked up and saw a small frown on Kagami's face, "okay Kagami, I'll forgive you this time. Don't ever do it again though. I've waited a long time just to spend this whole day with you and you were about to ruin it."

Whatever small bad feeling Kagami was feeling, it just got ten times worse. He- Kuroko had probably been planning all about this day, he's probably been dreaming about it and marking it off a calender and everything. And he didn't at all think about the way he felt?

"How about we go out again next Sunday? Sorry I almost ruined our day."

"You promise?!" Kuroko cheered.

Kagami smirked and rubbed the top of his head, "yeah I promise."

Kagami yawned a little bit, but he had a hard time covering it since he was carrying out his youngest best friend on his back. Overall... the day had been sort of fun. Other than the bump they had this morning, everything else had been fun and happy for Kuroko. Even Kagami had a little bit fun... just a little... maybe a lot, no normal amount.

He can't remember the last time he carried Kuroko home, it probably being back when he first started elementary school and passed out after drinking so many milkshakes. This time he was tired out from having fun. Kagami held onto him with one hand as he used the other to ring the doorbell, looking back to see if it had waken him up.

"Hi Kagami, is Tetsuya? Asleep, thanks for carrying him all the way home. Would you mind bringing him up to his room? I don't want to wake him."

"No problem Mrs. Kuroko," Kagami said walking in.

"Thanks for playing with him again today, Tetsuya always returns home with a huge grin after seeing you," she giggled.

"Again no problem at all, Tetsuya is a good kid and cool friend. It's really no trouble at all hanging out with him."

"That's good."

Kagami walked upstairs and down the hall to the second room on the left; he's been to Kuroko's room one or twice before so it knew where it was. His door was slightly open which was perfect since all he had to do now was open it with his foot and walk in.

Kuroko started yawning as Kagami set him down on the bed, blinking his eyes open hazily.

"Thanks for today," he mumbled sleepy.

Kagami chuckled lightly, "I had a lot of fun today, so thank you too."

"It's always fun being together, I always have a great day whenever I'm with you."

Kagami blinked and Kuroko yawned again, rolling around in his bed.

"Good night Kagami."

Kagami smiled a little and patted Kuroko's head, "good night Tetsuya."
