Hi guys! :D I'm really sorry for not updating in awhile, I have been busy with school stuff and dealing with a friend... But I'm on Spring Break so I'll be update more! :D Hope you all have liked the story so far!

Why would she do that? Why would she lie to me?

Ayla was flying towards the shore where she hoped that Current and Aquata were at. She tried her best not to let the tears in her eyes flow down. Then, she decided to land in a random clearing and clear her thoughts before meeting up with her friends. Finally, she couldn't hold her tears back any longer and began to cry silently.

"Why us?" She whispered.

Meanwhile in the cove...

Ymke was leaning against Rusty, letting her tears roll down her face. Rusty had his arm wrapped around her, letting her cry for awhile. Once she was done crying, she finally heard her spoke.

"R-Rusty, w-what do I do? I-I didn't mean to yell at her, I-I was just sad and confused on why she was leaving." Ymke explained.

Rusty didn't respond at first, he was looking up at the sky. Though, him and Ayla weren't as close as her and Ymke, he still missed the halfling's presence. After a few minutes of thinking about said Halfling he finally looked over at Ymke.

"Maybe you should...find her and explain everything." Rusty told her.

"B-But I don't think she'll listen to me after our argument!" Ymke exclaimed, more tears threatening to come down.

"Trust me, I know she will. You just have to be calm." Rusty explained in a quiet tone.

Ymke stayed silent.

It could work...

Ymke then took a deep breath and stood up, wiping her tears away.

"Let's go find Ayla." Ymke said.

In a random clearing in the forest...

Ayla was leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. Her eyes were hot from crying for a long time. She was trying to calm herself down by taking a deep breath. Once she calmed down, she stood up and took flight. She clumsily landed on the beach and looked around for her friends.

"Ayla!" She heard a familiar voice say.

Ayla quickly ran to the voice and found Current and Aquata. "Guys! We have to go, now!" She said.

Without question, the two nodded and dived into the water. They both transformed into their dragon forms. Ayla was about to transform when she heard the sound of someone coming. She turned around to see who it was. It just happened to be Rusty and Ymke.

"What do you want?" Ayla spat in an angry tone.

"Ymke just wants to talk to you." Rusty explained in a soft tone.

"Ayla, I am really sorry about what I said to you earlier. I was just confused and sad that I wasn't thinking straight." Ymke quickly explained.

Ayla narrowed her eyes, causing Ymke to sigh sadly.

"Look, when I said that I helped capture some of your friends it was true. But I didn't know that you guys weren't as dangerous as they told me. When I was little, my dad always told me how dangerous and scary halflings were. But after spending time with you, I know that he is wrong." Ymke told her.

Ayla's expression softened at what she heard and smiled a bit.

"Really?" She asked.

Ymke smiled and nodded.

Ayla then frowned again. "You should have told me that sooner." She said.

Ymke looked down sadly when she suddenly tackled to the ground.

"But, I forgive you!" Ayla exclaimed happily.

Ymke was surprised at first but then she started to laugh as did Ayla. Rusty smiled and chuckled a bit.

Ayla soon got off Ymke and stood up.

"So, would you like to see my home?" Ayla asked.

"Of course I do! But how will we get there? We don't have wings like you guys." Ymke said.

Ayla smirked and took a step back. She closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was a Night Fury.

"Woah!" Ymke exclaimed in amazement.

Ayla lowered herself and opened her wings, still looking at Ymke and Rusty who were confused at what she was doing. Ayla huffed and gestured them to get on. With some mishaps, the two eventually got on. Ymke was in the front and Rusty was behind her. Once Ayla felt that they were on securely, she gently took off into the sky. She made sure to not go as fast as she is used to since she knew that this was the first time they have ever been flying and she didn't want to made a horrible first impression.

But, once she felt that they had started to get used to it, she sped up a little. As time passed, Ayla had let Ymke take control of their flight once in awhile just to let her experience it. They flew down to one of the islands to rest and the next day went back to flying. During that time, Ymke had gotten used to controlling Ayla and was pretty good at it. After a few days of flying, they spotted Ayla's home. Ayla was really excited to be back at her home, but she was also afraid at what she might see. The five landed on the shore of the Halfling's island.

Ayla transformed back to her half-form. "Well, here we are!" She exclaimed happily.

Ymke and Rusty looked at the island with wonder.

Ayla chuckled. "Follow me!" She said and let the two to the forest. Current and Aquata decided to stay in the water and go back to their homes.

But, unknown to all of them, a familiar ship had followed them to the island...

Sorry that this chapter is shorter than usual, I wanted to save some things for the next chapter. Plus, I'm kind of sick so I'm pretty tired. Until next time, Ride On Dragon Riders!
