The Spark Pt 1
*New York City, Morning (about 9:30am)
Carol never thought she would find herself in a situation like this. She was sat high up on the rooftop of a particularly tall skyscraper in the financial district, looking at the ring that Peter had given her. She loved the craftsmanship of the beautiful ring her love had given her. She especially found it beautiful in the way that the gold shimmered in the sunlight.
"Nice ring" said a familiar voice from Carol's right. The blonde heroine turned to her right and met eyes with a familiar face, a fellow female Vigilante wearing a black leather outfit with her long platinum blonde hair cascading down her shoulders. Felicia Hardy, AKA Black Cat.
"Yeah…it is" Carol replied before putting her glove back on her hand.
"What brings you here Cat?" Carol asked as Felicia took a seat beside her on the edge of the building
"I'm not planning on robbing anything if that's what you're implying. Those days are behind me" Felicia replied. Her days as a cat burglar were in the past, she had taken to making up for past mistakes by becoming a street level hero.
"Well that's good to know, as long as robbery being behind you also includes Peter" Carol replied, not even looking as the silver haired woman beside her.
"That is why I am here actually" Felicia sighed. Carol arched an eyebrow and paid close attention to what she was about to say.
"I'm sorry but…what?" Carol asked
"I came to find you so that we could shoot the shit and settle this once and for all" Felicia said as she leaned back, letting the wind blow through her hair.
"Alright, I'm listening" Carol replied
"I just want you to know that I can see that what you and Peter have is…..special and I can see that it clearly isn't going to be ending anytime soon" Felicia sighed
"What makes you say that?"
"Danvers, I am expert on jewellery and I can tell that, that ring on your finger isn't just a decoration" Felicia said
"Really, how can you tell?" Carol asked, curious to what she thought
"Because you are wearing it whilst in your uniform….it must be pretty dam special for that" Felicia said with a tilted head while Carol sighed in defeat
"That obvious huh?" Carol asked
"Not really, anyone else would dismiss it right away" Felicia said. She knew that many people would never believe that the mighty Ms Marvel would be the type to say yes to a marriage proposal, especially given her reputation as a woman who was the symbol of female strength and authority in today's society.
"So I'm guessing you have something to say about it?" Carol assumed
"Yeah…congratulations" Felicia replied. Carol's eyes widened in surprise as she never expected such words to come out of Felicia's mouth. Sure Felicia didn't give Carol and Peter as much trouble as she did when they first began going out, but she still acted like she wanted to swipe Peter from right under her.
"I'm sorry, but it sounded like you said Congratulations" Carol said with a raised eyebrow
"I did, and I mean it" Felicia started as she smiled slightly before continuing "I know that you have never seen me as anything but a threat to the two of you Carol, but I really mean it. I can see you two love each other, I may have been a thief but I wouldn't stoop so low as to get in the way of the two of you being happy" Felicia sighed
"I just don't think the Webhead would want the two of us tearing each other's throats out" Felicia chuckled
"Ha, yeah that's true" Carol chuckled in response
"So what do you say? Friends?" Felicia said holding out her hand
"Let's take it one step at a time Hardy, we aren't at the 'friends' level yet" Carol chuckled as she shook Black Cat's hand firmly
"So…what? Acquaintances?" Felicia smiled
"Yeah, that's a good start" Carol smiled in response
"So where is the Wall Crawler?" Felicia asked
"He said he had to tell his brother about our engagement first" Carol said, referring to Peter's clone, Kaine, the present Scarlet Spider.
"He has a brother?" Felicia asked wide eyed
"Yeah, they're twins, his brother lives in Houston so they don't talk much" Carol said, trying to sound as convincing as she could.
"Huh…twins. Well I might take a vacation in Houston for a week or two" Felicia smirked as Carol chuckled in response. She had met Kaine once before and she knew for a fact that he wasn't one for starting relationships. She could imagine it right now, Felicia trying to seduce the Scarlet Spider only for him to slug her in the face. She had a hard time not snickering at that mental image.
"What's so funny?" Felicia asked
"Oh, sorry, I just remembered a funny joke" Carol snickered
Stark Tower, New York City
"Alright, now pass me the Arc Welder…..the Arc Welder dummy!" Tony shouted as he lay on the floor below a table covered in a large piece of tarp. One of his drones, Dummy however was having trouble figuring out which tool its master meant.
Tony was working on a new suit that he had been preparing for a while. It was a specialized suit that he had designed, in terms of strength it was on terms with the Hulkbuster models and the Thorbuster while also being unique in its own way. Needless to say it was Tony's most advanced suit yet, once he finished it anyway. Tony held out his hand as Dummy dropped a tool into his hand, but once Tony got a look at the tool he was handed he sighed in disappointment.
"I asked for the Arc Welder…..this is a wrench….I thought a robot would understand the difference!" Tony yelled in frustration as both Dummy and Butterfingers retreated in a 'whoa' fashion.
"Just get me the dam Arc Welder, or this time I'll dismantle your circuit board and turn you into a wine rack" Tony sighed as he held out the wrench and felt it get taken from his grip.
Tony sighed as he kept reworking the wires in front of him. The parts of the armour he was working on right now were the back thrusters. These parts needed to be in tip top condition for what he had planned for this armour, he found that the larger the suit, the more effective the propelling systems had to be in order for it to have the kick it needed.
Tony then heard his drones wheeling back towards him and held out his hand to receive the tool. The arc welder was placed in his hand and he was surprised that the two drones had actually managed to get it right this time.
"It's about time, I'm surprised you two didn't pass me a dam waffle presser this time" Tony groaned as he put on a welding mask that he had at his side.
"Well, that's not very nice" said a feminine English accented voice. Tony went wide eyed as he realized who it was. He then felt a hand wrap around his left leg and pull him from under the table; he then met eyes with Jess who was in her full Spiderwoman attire with a smirk on her face and a hand on her hip.
"….hi Jess, JARVIS didn't tell me you arrived" Tony said mentally cursing his AI for not informing him that his girlfriend had arrived. He absolutely hated it when she caught him obsessing over his suits.
"Yeah…I'm a spy, so it should go unsaid that I can slip by even your security systems love" Jess smirked as Tony got up onto his feet.
'Sir, Ms Drew seems to have arrived' JARVIS announced as Tony sighed and replied "Yeah, thanks, I noticed" Jess couldn't help but chuckle at that last bit.
"Hello guys, how has old Grumpy been treating you?" Jess asked the two drones, Dummy and Butterfingers. Jess was amused by the two drones as they acted like little kids; their AI's according to Tony where like that of children. Being his first official creations he never really felt like upgrading their AI's, that's what he would tell everyone, but Jess knew that he secretly had a soft spot for the two drones.
Jess rubbed the two drones on what could best be described as their heads. If drones could blush, they would certainly be doing that. Jess chuckled as she heard Dummy give out a happy sounding buzz.
"You spoil those two, you know" Tony said as he cleaned some of the grease off of his hands with a towel.
"Hey, just because Kelly pissed you off on Larry King doesn't mean you have to act all pissy with everyone else" Jess replied as she walked up to Tony and wrapped her arms around his neck. Tony couldn't help but smile back at his beautiful arachnid and hold her close to him. Jess however may have had a small part in lifting his mood as she secreted the tiniest amount of pheromones to make him a bit more positive.
"You really have to stop using those pheromones of yours" Tony smirked
"You love it" Jess whispered in his ear before kissing him on the cheek
"How are the ribs feeling?" Tony asked with concern.
"I'm fine Tony, though I have to say I can't wait for a bit of payback" Jess smiled, but Tony kept a stern look on his face. He didn't want her to risk her life going against someone who could dismember the Wrecking crew like they were nothing.
"Jess, if we see that guy again, I want you to leave it to the others who might stand a chance against him" Tony said with caution in his voice.
"What?! You can't just expect me to sit back while you…" Jess began, only for Tony to interrupt her
"I don't want you to risk your life again Jess. I don't want the same thing to happen to you twice, and I'm sure history will repeat itself if you face that 'Cyrus' guy again" Tony said with care in his tone.
Tony to be honest never thought that he could love someone as much as he loved Jess, sure he had been a playboy in his days and had been around with a lot of women, but those were simple fun compared to what he had with Jess. She wasn't just sexy and a goddess among women, but she was intelligent, funny and not to mention she knew exactly how to treat him.
"Really? And you wouldn't be risking yourself if you went to fight him?" Jessica asked
"I'm always risking myself when I fight Meta-humans, that's why I have my suits" Tony smirked
"Oh really?" Jess asked with a smirk of her own
"Yeah, speaking of which, would you like to meet the newest addition?" Tony asked as he shifted his glance to the table.
"Hmmm, sure why not?" Jess asked rhetorically as Tony lead her over to the new suit. Jess could not see the completed suit as it still had the canvas over it but from what she could see, it was going to be a large one. Not as large as his Hulkbuster armours, but still big enough to make him seem imposing.
"What do you plan on fighting with this one, Galactus?" Jess asked as she picked up one of the gauntlets.
"Actually you aren't far off, I am still trying to think up a name for this one, but it is designed to fight off high level Meta-humans" Tony explained
"Define 'high level'" Jess asked
"Thor, Viktor, the guy you just faced" Tony said
"Whoa, so how far are you into completing this guy?"
"Should take only a few more days of full time work, then he'll be ready for combat testing, until then I will have to use my other suits" Tony said
"You tease" Jess joked as she wrapped her arms around Tony's neck and landed a passionate kiss on his lips which he happily returned.
"What do you say that we…..get cosy?" Jess asked seductively
"You little minx" Tony replied. But as soon as the two were about to make their way to somewhere where they could have some 'fun' Jess heard her ID card go off and JARVIS sprung alive.
'Sir, Captain Rogers is calling you on an urgent matter' the AI announced
"Urgent huh? Ok, JARVIS get the MK6 online" Tony sighed as he and Jess were interrupted.
"I guess we can still have some fun later" Jess smiled "I guess so" Tony replied as he walked over to the landing platform outside of Stark Tower, as he did, the archway that held the pieces of the MK6 emerged and the pieces of the armour latched themselves onto Tony as he walked over to the landing platform. Jess couldn't help but love the way the metallic plates latched themselves onto Tony's body, Tony may not have been the most physically fit of the Avengers, but he made up for it in his ability to create brilliant machines like his armoured suits.
"Ready babe?" Tony asked, snapping Jess out of her trance.
"Dam straight, love" Jess smiled as she prepared to fly
"Race you there" Tony said as his face plate clamped down and his repulsars fired up.
"Catch me if you can slowpoke!" Jess taunted as she took off into the skies
'God….thank you' Tony thought as he shot off into the skies
"So…how did he take it?" Viktor asked stirring the milk in his coffee cup
"Pretty good, I expected him to not give a crap but, he was supportive" Peter said as he sat on the edge of the skyscraper. Both he and Viktor were taking a well-deserved break from beating up muggers and thieves as things seemed quite in their area for the moment. Peter at the moment was telling Viktor of how his talk with his clone Kaine had went.
"I will never know how the hell you guys haven't gone barking mad after the shit you have seen" Viktor shook his head as he sipped his coffee. Sure he had seen his fair share of weird shit in his life, but that was over 900 years, while Peter hadn't even reached his thirties and yet had stuff happen to him that would send regular folk insane.
"It's not that bad Vik" Peter replied
"Oh really? Because I don't think a lot of the people would be able to handle having a clone, I know I sure as hell wouldn't" Viktor sighed
"Aren't you the guy who is going out with a clone?" Peter asked rhetorically with a raised brow, but Viktor only glared at him with a 'really?' look
"Ok, point taken" Peter replied
"By the way, you plan on telling everyone at the meeting today?" Viktor asked
"Yeah, Carol is exited as hell man. I don't think either of us can get more excited than how we are already" Peter said with a smile on his face
"I just can't wait for everyone's reactions. When is the meeting again?" Viktor asked
"Uh…..about…." Peter said as he checked his phone "Now"
"Great, because I really want to see how Laura reacts" Viktor smiled
"You haven't told her?"
"Nah, it's your secret to tell, lover boy" Viktor smiled as he finished his coffee. The sound of sirens where then heard a few streets away, a normal person would never have heard that sound, but Peter and Viktor were not regular humans and could hear it as clear as day.
"What does it sound like to you Pete?" Viktor smiled
"High speed chase…..want to rev it up?" Peter smirked behind his mask
"The others can wait a few minutes for us" Viktor smiled
*Avengers Mansion, 20 minutes later
"Those two are seriously beginning to take the piss" Pietro sighed drumming his fingers on the meeting table at high speeds.
"I know that Pete is always late but Viktor is usually so punctual" Wanda said
"Maybe they are just busy kicking someone's ass" Bill Foster suggested
"Well I think we should wait until they both arrive" Carol said as she wanted Pete to be here as they broke the news to the other Avengers. The only members who were missing from the hall were Brimstone, Spiderman and Nova, though for some reason Tony and Steve said that he had very important reasons for being absent.
"Did anyone miss us this time?" Peter asked as he entered the meeting hall with Viktor behind him. The British Avenger took off his hat and lowered his face mask as he sat down at his seat next to Laura, while Peter sat next to Carol and took off his mask.
"Speak of the devil" T'Challa said with a smirk
"So what's the excuse this time?" Wasp asked
"High speed chase, god I feel like Jason Statham after that" Viktor smiled as he put his hands behind his head in a lay back pose.
"Last time I checked, he couldn't bench press a train with one hand" Tigra said
"Neither can you" Viktor said in a semi-mocking tone, Tigra gave a low growl in response and Callus cawed loudly. Tigra never really liked Viktor's crow or the comments he would make, though it wasn't entirely without reason, as Viktor and Callus' bond would make them alike in certain aspects. One of which was that neither of them particularly like cats, sure T'Challa got a free pass as he only dressed like a cat, but Tigra was another story.
"Alright guys, that's enough, we don't want any arguments or anything alright?" Tony said as Viktor laid back in his seat comfortably and Tigra crossed her arms with a huff.
"Alright, Now as I understand some of you may be wondering why Richard isn't present for this meeting and the answer is because he received an urgent message from the Nova Corps to meet them at Xandar immediately" Steve announced to the other Avengers
"Well, I have heard of worse reasons to not attend meetings" Luke said while looking at Pete in particular.
"Let's just hope he doesn't get too comfortable half a galaxy away" Wonder man said in response
"What other news then?" Jess asked
"Well, Natasha and James will be up and running within a couple of days, Clint and Bobbi a day or two after that" Tony said as many of the others gave sighs of relief at the fact that their teammates were not permanently injured.
"Also, I believe Carol and Peter have some news for the rest of us, Guys?" Steve said motioning to the two whom smiled in response before standing.
"Thanks Cap, now everyone, I'm not sure how to put this but….you know what? I'll let you put two and two together….Pete?" Carol said looking to Peter who nodded in turn. The two then took a 5 second pause and took off their right gloves and revealed their shimmering rings to everyone present in the room.
Silence fell
Jaws dropped
Gasps were heard
Viktor smirked and gave a thumbs up
"OHMYGOD ARE THOSE?!" Jess shouted in shock as she sprung up from her seat. Almost instantly the other Avengers sprung from their seats and got right up to congratulate the happy couple.
"What else?" Carol smiled as her best friend leapt onto her and embraced her like a sister
"Holy shit guys….you finally?" Wonder Man asked speechlessly
"ODIN BE PRAISED! CONGRATULATIONS, MY FRIENDS!" Thor bellowed loudly
"I can't believe you worked up the guts, Bug" Logan chuckled as he slapped Pete on the back
"Did you know about this?" Laura asked Viktor who smiled and gave his girlfriend a wink
"MY FELLOW AVENGERS! A CELEBRATION IS IN ORDER!" Hercules bellowed at a loudness that matched Thor's
"HERCULES DOTH SPEAK TRULY, BREAK OUT THE MEAD, LET US FEAST IN HONOUR OF THE BOND OF MS MARVEL AND SPIDERMAN!" Thor shouted in jubilation
"One step at a time Point Break" Tony chuckled as he put a hand on the thunder god's shoulder
"My god, guys, I can't believe it myself, any ideas of a when and where it's gonna be?" Steve asked, not being able to wipe the smile off his face.
"Just to let you know, I would consider it an honour if you considered Wakanda as a honeymoon location" T'Challa smiled
"NONESENSE PANTHER, THE HALLS OF ASGARD WOULD TRULY BE A GLORIOUS LOCATION FOR THE WEDDING! THE ALL-FATHER HIMSELF WOULD BLESS THIS UNION!" Thor offered in pure excitement
"YOU KNOW NOT OF WHAT YOU SPEAK ODINSON, OLYMPUS WOULD WELCOME YOU TWO LIKE ROYALTY WITH MY WORD!" Hercules bellowed putting a hand on Peter's shoulder. The couple were beginning to feel a bit of an overload of kindness from their friends and teammates and thought it best to calm them down a bit.
"Hey, guys, guys settle down alright? We aren't rushing this, and no we haven't decided when or where it's going to be" Carol said trying her best to calm the other Avengers down.
"You have better have me as the maid of honour" Jess said
"Wouldn't have it any other way" Carol smiled back, the other female Avengers weren't going to be bitter as they knew Jess and Carol were like sisters, though it didn't mean they couldn't be a bit jealous.
"I'm making the dresses!" Janet raised her hand in eagerness as everyone chuckled in response
"You had better make bridesmaid dresses in our sizes" Betty said gesturing to her and Jennifer
"So Pete, who is the best man, may I ask?" Falcon asked as many of the other male Avengers concentrated on his next words
"Well guys, I already chose who it is and I'm sorry but….Viktor is the best man" Peter replied, the others all looked at Viktor who had probably the smuggest look any of them had ever seen on his face.
"God dammit" about 50% of the Avengers muttered under their breath simultaneously
"What's that I hear? Is it the sweet sound of jealousy?" Viktor said trying to rub it in as best he could.
"Why him?" Logan grunted
"Lads, trust me, you will be glad he did choose me. Because you can't find anyone on this earth who can throw a better bachelor party than a 900 year old Brit" Viktor smiled
"Well, I suppose we wouldn't have to worry about Stark makin us go to any strip clubs" Logan chuckled as did everyone else. Jess also cast Tony a 'don't you dare' look
"You better not Tony" Jess warned
"Not in a millions years" Tony replied in a defensive way, not wanting a venom blast to the crotch from his girlfriend, whom he found out could be jealous about other women. Tony however didn't have to worry that much, who would leave Jess for the playboy lifestyle he had before.
"I'll guess you'll have to change the name Danvers" Jennifer said with a smirk
"Shit, your right. You can't keep rolling with Ms Marvel now that you won't be a Ms anymore" Laura said in surprise
"One thing at a time" Carol smiled as she held hands with Peter
"So how do you guys wanna get married? Seriously this could be like a wedding of the century deal" Luke said
"Nothing to big Luke, we just want it to be Peter Parker and Carol Danvers getting married with close friends and family, we don't want to draw as much attention as Reed and Sue did" Peter said, remembering how many supervillains tried to interrupt the wedding, not to mention the constant harassment from the media, which was something the both of them could do without.
"I can't believe this guys, I can't even express how happy I am for you" Steve said
"Don't go crying on us Cap, save it for the wedding" Carol chuckled
"Congratulations, I hope we are all invited" Tony said
"Don't worry, all you guys are coming, like we said close friends and family" Peter said with a reassuring smile.
"Sir, may I have your attention for a moment?" the automated voice of JARVIS rang through the hall.
"Not now JARVIS" Tony replied
"Sir, I insist this is very important" the AI continued
"*sigh* alright, what is it?" Tony finally gave in
"There are a group of very well-known terrorists occupying Chicago city hall, and sir, they are being led by Crimson Dynamo" JARVIS replied in a relaxed tone, the AI never really changed its tone even when stating news such as this. Tony's eyes widened as he turned to the others "Well….I guess that is important, well Carol, Peter I guess we can all talk about the wedding later?" he said
"Fine with us Tony" Peter smiled as he grabbed his mask, but as he was about to put it on, Tony stopped him but grabbing his arm with his metallic fist.
"We got this one Pete, I have experience beating Dynamo within an inch of his life so it should only take a few of us to wrap this up. You and Carol had better sit this one out, our treat" Tony said with a smile
"Uh….ok, but this better not mean you guys are gonna start back seating us on missions" Carol replied, as she hated getting benched on missions like this.
"Don't worry Carol, it's just this once. Alright, Cap, Wolverine, Falcon, Panther, Wasp, She-Hulk X-23 and Spiderwoman get to the Quinjet ASAP. We got a tin plated Russian to beat" Tony smiled as he put his helmet on, quickly after the face plate clamped down and the eye sockets lit up.
"If we need help I'll have JARVIS call your ID cards, but chances are we won't need help, it's just Dynamo after all" Tony smirked behind his helmet as he and the other set off to their mission.
"I'll be back at my place later, k?" Laura whispered in Viktor's ear before she left with the others. Viktor couldn't help but smirk as he thought of the best way to make the time go by.
"Well guys, how about a round of drinks to celebrate, I'm buying!" Viktor offered the others cheerfully
"Aye, Viktor, a round of the finest mead Midgard has to offer would truly be worthy of celebration" Thor agreed with a hearty roar
"Doth speak truly Odinson, the son of Zeus would gladly go drinking in celebration for the union of Ms Marvel and Spiderman!" Hercules agreed with a wide friendly smile
"Well guys? What do you say?" Viktor asked with a smile as he, Thor and Hercules put their arms around each other's shoulders.
"Uh, no thanks guys, you go knock yourselves out" Wonder man said as he began to exit the room
"Alcohol makes the other guy come out, thanks but no thanks" Banner said before he turned to leave
"I've got to report back to base, no time for drinks" Ross said with a professional tone as he began walking to the exit as well. Many of the other Avengers gave a shake of the head or an odd look before leaving, only Carol and Peter with the three extremely powerful Meta-humans awaiting an answer.
"Well, uh guys. We would really love to hang out and everything but you see…." Pete began, worrying about how the three would react.
"We would love to hang out, but we have to plan out the details for the wedding and everything, and we can't have Peter drunk for that can we?" Carol said
"Aye...I suppose that makes sense Milady" Thor said
"Besides I doubt Pete could keep up with us anyway" Viktor grinned and chuckled with Thor and Herc
"Well lads, let's get drinking!" Viktor shouted as Hercules and Thor shouted "AYE!" in agreement as all three of them sped out of the mansion, leaving Carol and Peter there.
"Well…..got rid of them huh? I guess that means more private time for us" Carol stated with a smile
"You little minx" Peter replied with a smirk as he put an arm around her shoulder and held her close to him.
*Chicago, Illinois, City Hall
*TWACK!*
"Stay down and shut up! Or the next will be a bullet in the ass!" a Mercenary shouted, pointing his AK-47 at one of the Mayor's Aides. The large group of over 20 Mercenaries and known Terrorists had spread across the City Hall, about 5 men armed with AK's were guarding the Mayor and his personal staff, one of which had gotten whacked in the stomach for standing up against the attackers.
Meanwhile the other men had set up a makeshift blockade around the entrances and exits; they had also set up some heavy firepower, including a Gatling gun, a 50 calibre machine gun and even a mortar. So far the police were not able to do anything but sit and wait for some Meta-human help to arrive.
However, unknown to the police, the Mayor and his staff were not alone in the office as Dynamo was prepping the device that he had constructed for this very occasion.
"What the hell is that?" the Mayor asked nervously as Dynamo turned around, casting his gaze through his red steel visor.
"VERY GOOD QUESTION COMRADE! THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL GIFT I GIVE TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS CITY!" Dynamo replied, his loud metallic voice ringing through the room.
"It isn't what I think it is…is it?" he asked once again
"HAHAHAHAHA, YOU MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND MR MAYOR, WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE?" Dynamo cackled as he turned back to work on prepping the device, his massive suit clanking and whirring as he moved.
"Don't even think about being a hero" one Mercenary with a Russian accent stated, pointing his rifle at the Mayor's head. God how he hoped help would arrive soon.
Meanwhile outside the police were totally helpless, the weaponry that the terrorists had was way above anything they had. SWAT teams and regular police were present and taking cover behind their vehicles which were littered in holes from the heavy machine gun fire. They would have tried a tactical approach but they doubted that they would stand a chance against their leader Crimson Dynamo.
"They have us pinned down Chief, we can't move an inch closer, not to mention we already have 5 injured men from that last attempt" one officer told the Police Chief who was also crouched down behind a car.
"Goddammit, where the hell are the Avenges when you need em?" the Chief cursed under his breath. At that moment the chief heard a buzzing sound like that of an insect.
"Does this answer your question chief?" came a female voice, the chief turned quickly to see where the voice had come from and came face to face with the miniature flying Superheroine the Wasp
"….Wasp? Well it's about time you showed up!" the Chief exclaimed as Janet grew to normal size and crouched besides the chief.
"What's the situation?" Janet asked
"About 5 to 8 guys at the main entrance, they have some pretty heavy artillery so I don't think those stingers of yours will help" the Chief explained.
"Did you get that Tony?" Janet asked into her earpiece
"Dam right, I'm coming in hot in 3" Tony warned on the other side of the radio. Janet smiled as both she and the police heard the familiar sound of Repulsar flight.
"2" Tony shouted as he sped through the air towards the city hall, the terrorists saw the trail left behind his repulsars and began to prep their heavy weapons. Little did they notice the two figures holding onto him tightly.
"1!" Tony shouted as he shot right past the blockade, the two figure that were hanging off of his leapt off and landed in the midst of the terrorists, Wolverine extended his Adamantium claws and Black Panther unsheathed his vibranium claws.
"Surprise!" Logan cackled as he and T'Challa began slicing at the many armed men, before they had a chance to aim their rifles or handguns at the two Avengers.
Tony on the other hand had a different target in mind and flew at supersonic speeds, using his digital mapping systems to zoom around the tight corners and hallways so that he could reach the destination he was looking for.
His old Foe
"KNOCK, KNOCK!" Tony shouted as he blasted the doors to the Mayor's office down and landed in the midst of the room. Before the mercenary's and Terrorists had a chance to react, his shoulder plates retracted and from them, shot darts that took the men out in an instant, causing them to fall to the floor lifelessly.
"STAAAAAAAAARK!" Dynamo bellowed as Tony turned only to have Dynamo deliver a powerful haymaker to the armoured Avenger, sending him flying out of the window, crashing to the floor.
Dynamo grunted and just before pressing a few controls on the device, the lights on said device lit up and read the numbers 00:08:22 counting down at a steady pace.
"MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME FOR SOME FUN!" Dynamo cackled manically as he shot out of the open window after Tony.
Meanwhile inside City Hall, the other Avengers had stormed the place and since the Mercs had lost their advantage of heavy weapons and having hostages now that the Mayor and his staff had barricaded themselves within his office.
Steve threw his shield, and as it whizzed through the air it clanged against one terrorist, which made it reflect onto another and back into the Super solder's hand.
"Wolverine, Spiderwoman, Falcon secure the top floors, Wasp, Panther, X-23 you take down the rest of the Mercenaries, She-Hulk you come with me, we got to help out Tony" Steve ordered the Avengers as they sprang into action.
*TWACK, TWACK, TWACK!*
Dynamo was on cloud nine as he repeatedly rammed Tony's armoured face into the ground. The Armour that Tony was wearing was the only thing in the way of the vicious onslaught, and was his only saviour in situations like this.
Dynamo however was knocked off balance when Captain America's shield whacked him in the side of his head. Dynamo's grip on Tony was released as he staggered back only for She-Hulk to tackle him to the ground and begin laying into him with an onslaught of heavy punches.
"You ok Iron man?" Steve asked as he caught his shield
"Give me a few secs…..ouch" Tony groaned as he was down on all fours.
"RAAAAAAAAAGH!" Dynamo roared as he grabbed She-hulk by the face and threw her into a nearby car before pointing his fist in her direction. A panel on his wrist opened up and revealed a rocket launcher, the rocket shot out and sped towards Jennifer, exploding into flames as it made impact with the heroine. However Jennifer was Banner's cousin and was sturdier than most, so a simple rocket wasn't going to put her down, but it defiantly packed a punch.
"I don't think we have a few secs" Steve said readying his shield as the red metal behemoth roared and charged the two of them.
Meanwhile back inside the city hall, Black Panther had just finished beating up another group of Mercenaries and was making his way to the Mayor's office. He came to the door and knocked loudly.
"Mr Mayor, the situation is under control, this is the Black Panther!" T'Challa announced as he heard sounds of panicking on the other side of the door. T'Challa wasn't going to take any chances and kicked down the door using his enhanced strength, once the Wakandan king made it into the room.
"Don't move, that thing could go off!" one of the Mayor's aides warned the Panther as he looked to the right to lock his eyes on the device that had been placed in the room. T'Challa was the king of probably one of the world's most advanced countries so he knew his way around tech, so he ran over to the machine and saw the numbers counting down steadily.
"Uh….Iron Man?" T'Challa said into his earpiece
"I'M A LITTLE BUSY NOT GETTING KILLED T'CHALLA!" Tony shouted back as the sounds of heavy machine gun fire and explosions filled the background.
"Then you may want to know that there is a fusion detonator in the Mayor's office" T'Challa stated blandly
"I'M SORRY WHAT!?" Tony shouted back
"….a fusion detonator, capable of turning this entire city into ash"
"How long until it goes off?"
"…2 minutes" T'Challa replied as sweat ran down his brow
