You are my saviour
Another chapter for you guys, enjoy. Really sorry for the long wait.
An awkward tension filled the dining hall of the Lestrange Manor. Bellatrix sat at the end of the long table which stretched across the room. She kept scratching and picking at the wound, buried underneath all of her dark curls. Using her long, sharp nails to try and get rid of the irritation which kept bugging her as she waited for breakfast to be served. Hermione sat a few chairs away from the insane witch. After everything that had happened between the two, her gut was still telling her that this wasn't safe and to keep her distance from Bellatrix. She refused to let her guard down.
This was the dark lord's second in command who despised witches and wizards like Hermione, simply because of the fact that she was a muggleborn. Hermione stared at her lap; her clothes soaked in her own blood and covered with dirt from running in the forest. Occasionally she glanced to the corner of her eye to see Bellatrix fidgeting with the scar. It was starting to bother her now since all she could hear was the sound of her scratching her skin. She rolled her eyes before sighing.
"You'll make it worse if you scratch at it." Hermione said quietly, not looking up from the lap. Scared at the reaction she might receive from her capturer.
"It is bothering me; I'll scratch it if I want too. Just because you fixed it, doesn't mean you can tell me what to do with it mu.." Bellatrix stopped herself before the word came out, causing Hermione to look up at her.
"What? Aren't you going say it? Nothing has stopped you before from saying it. But it wouldn't bother me anyway." Hermione said firmly, suddenly gaining a new shot of confidence. But Bellatrix didn't have a answer for her. She was still confused as to why she wasn't letting Hermione slowly suffer in her dungeon with fear of what torture she would make her endure next or the fear of death creeping up with her.
Bellatrix still gave her a dangerous glare before shaking her head and relaxes back into her chair then shrugs at her.
"You've made it clear that calling you by your blood doesn't affect you. Maybe there is no point in calling you it now. You and I seem to have reached a problem within the last day. And that is why I let you stay in one of my room. Just by doing this, puts me in danger if my master finds out about you. And you know why I did what I did." Bellatrix replied calmly which surprised Hermione but still answered.
"Yes, I do. Because I found out information about you and you are afraid that I will make you appear weak if you let me go."
"I'm not afraid Granger because of that. I know that if I let you go, I will be dead before I am given chance to explain."
"You still could have killed me. Why not do that?" Hermione replied curiously. She had stated this so many times to Bellatrix, knowing she wouldn't do it. But it scared her not knowing why she wouldn't.
"I've explained to you that my orders are to keep you alive. Everyone knows, including Potter himself that we will use you to bring him to us and you hold information that could be a great use to us. Yet you are being so stubborn, and haven't given up on your pathetic friends!" Bellatrix said annoyed with her, rising from her chair and paced back and forth. Her blood boiling.
"You would do the exact same if you were me." Hermione replied smartly. Bellatrix stopped in her tracks and slowly turned to face her. She couldn't believe how bold Hermione was being, hadn't the message got through to her that this witch was dangerous and she was running her mouth off. But after what had happened earlier, she was in no position to try and prove that she was the terrifying witch that she had people judge her as. Bellatrx rolled her charcoal black eyes and let an exhausted sigh out.
"I suppose so. Your friends left you though, without as much as a second glance for your safety. And look at where you are now because of that."
"I still wouldn't betray them or anyone else for what had happened. I shouldn't have tripped then maybe I wouldn't be stuck here with you. Nothing you or anyone else would make me go against for what I believe in." Hermione stated firmly, confirming what she was saying. Bellatrix just stared at her before hearing a set of doors swing open and her two of her elves come through with their breakfast.
They both presented the plates; Hermione's slightly smaller than Bellatrix's. But it still was more than Hermione had eaten in months, although she made no effort to start eating while Bellatrix sat down and happily started to tuck into her breakfast. Hermione fought with herself, she couldn't eat the food her enemy had given her but her stomach said otherwise. It growled loudly, as if it was begging Hermione to eat the food. She still refused to even touch it. The older witch looked over at Hermione as she sipped some pumpkin juice, she could tell that Hermione wanted to eat the food yet she just sat there and stared at it.
Bellatrix rolled her eyes in annoyance at the young girl stubbornness.
"You might as well just eat it, it's not as if I asked one of my elves to poison your food, I'm the one is who risking everything by giving you food instead of letting you suffer."
Bellatrix did have a point. Hermione was nearly out of danger but the older witch still had hold of her wand. But her stomach was battling with her brain and since she hasn't eaten a proper meal in months and she was staring at the plate full of food in front of her. Hermione's stomach won. She let out an exhausted sigh before picking up the cutlery and started carving into the food. One small bite led to the next slightly bigger one and Hermione couldn't control her arm as she kept pushing food into her mouth, filling her appetite.
Bellatrix couldn't care less about how fast she was eating, the way Hermione ate reminded her when she escaped from Azkaban and she felt her appetite slowly come back to her. This took her thoughts away from the dull throbbing in her head as she studied the younger girl. The two witches sat there in silence as they both continued to eat.
When they had finished their breakfast, Bellatrix told the elves to get rid of the plates and for Hermione to follow her out of the large dining room.
"What are you exactly planning with me? You can't just keep me here like this." Hermione stated boldly, receiving a glare from the older witch.
"I believe I can, whether you like it or not. But I know that we are leaving this horrible place."
Hermione gave her a confused look, wondering if she heard right. This was her home, wasn't it?
"What do you mean?" Hermione asked a little quickly.
"I mean that I am doing something that I have wanted to do for a while now. That bastard actually made him useful and managed to persuade me to leave his drunken arse." Bellatrix hissed, making her anger directed at Rodolphus quite clear.
"So.. You mean you are leaving him?"
"Indeed, Granger. That also means you are coming with me." Bellatrix replied and let her lips curve into a smirk.
"Now, I want you to make yourself useful and stay out of my way while I gather some of my things. Don't even think about escaping because even if you do manage to get out. I will hunt you down and drag you back to make sure you regret it more than anything in your life."
"How am I supposed to get out of here? You have my wand and even if i did get outside the door of this place, I have no idea where I am or which direction I would even go to get back. So I think me trying to get out is out of the question really." Hermione replied smartly, Bellatrix shooting her a death glare.
"Just shut up and stay the hell out of my way. We leave in an hour." Bellatrix stated before calling Elias and makes him follow her up the stairs to the master bedroom to start Bellatrix's packing. Hermione sighed in frustration; she really wanted to escape from this hell she was in. But without her wand, she was stuck with the sadistic witch. She made her way to the main living room and sat down on one of the slytherin green sofas. Her eyes slowly closed, still exhausted from the events that happened and she hadn't have a proper sleep.
"Granger, up. Time to go." Hermione heard the voice of Bellatrix, not believing she could be done so quickly. She only closed her eyes for a few moments.
"I thought we were leaving in an hour." Hermione replied with her voice husky from the sleep then looked up to receive a confused look from the Bellatrix.
"It has been an hour you idiot. You have been asleep in the same spot since I left." Bellatrix told her, annoyance made clear as Hermione rubbed her eyes.
It really didn't feel like an hour to Hermione, it was like a few seconds to her.
"Whatever, I was confused that's all, it didn't feel like that long." Hermione stated flatly and glanced to see a trunk by the side of Bellatrix, it only came up to her hip so it didn't look like it contained a lot of clothes within it.
"Just forget it. We are leaving now, so come on." Bellatrix commanded while holding out her hand, not pleased about having to make contact with the teenager but she wasn't stupid to give Hermione her wand.
Hermione rolled her eyes but stood up and hesitantly took her pale, bony hand. The slim, stick like fingers wrapping around hers.
"Don't enjoy it too much Granger." Bellatrix said sarcastically before closing her eyes and focused on the destination she knew that no one but her elf would go looking for her. Within seconds, the pair was no longer in the Lestrange manor. When Bellatrix and Hermione opened their eyes, Bellatrix knew exactly where they were. Hermione looked round for a few seconds to see darkness and dust covering everything in sight, still not having a clue as to where Bellatrix had taken them. After a moment she turned to the dark witch and asked.
"Where are we? This place looks abandoned."
"That's because it is Granger, no one has been here in years." Bellatrix stated, quickly removing her hand away from Hermione's.
"How do you know that?" Hermione asked, the curiosity inside her growing quickly. Watching as Bellatrix took a few steps forward before turning to face Hermione .
"Because, this is where me and my family use to live."
It took a few moments for Hermione for the penny to drop before she asked quietly.
"You mean this is.." She said only to be cut off by Bellatrix.
"Welcome to the manor of the Black family, Granger."
