Many thanks to my wonderful beta, Stella! She is so precise and quick about sending back edited chapters!
"Sesshomaru! Why did you agree to help Kagome on that assignment?! You're not even a student!" Inuyasha yelled, slamming the door to his brother's office as he threw his sack to the ground.
"This could not wait until I returned home? I am rather busy," he half lied, putting his signature on a form after carefully reading it.
"Hell no, it couldn't wait! It's Friday, and the assignment is due on Tuesday! You better tell her you're not helping!" Inuyasha threatened, pounding his fists on the desk his brother was situated at.
Sighing, Sesshomaru set his pen down, placing his elbows on the desk and pressing his chin upon his entwined fingers.
"I will do no such thing."
"Why do you have to be such a prick? I thought you were too busy to help out with school projects!" Inuyasha countered, throwing his brother's previous excuse in his face.
"At the current time, yes. However, I have decided to take this weekend off."
"Whatever, Sesshomaru. You're just doing this to piss me off." Inuyasha huffed, sitting in the leather chair on the other side of his brother's desk.
"It would seem you are jealous of me, little brother. She easily accepted my offer, and we are barely acquaintances. Yet she denied yours, a class-mate. How embarrassing." Sesshomaru smirked, lifting an elegant black brow to his brother. True, he did have his own reasons for helping the girl, but that didn't mean he couldn't rile up his brother in the meantime, right?
He mused for a moment, leaning back in his chair. True, he wanted to learn more about the girl, as he was, for some reason, highly fascinated with her… but after this assignment, what would be his excuse?
How could he keep seeing her regularly without having her think he was a creep?
"Feh. As if I'd ever be jealous over that girl. You've gone crazy!" Inuyasha yelled, crossing his arms across his chest and turning away from his brother.
Sesshomaru frowned, the idea of his brother even being near Kagome upsetting him. He could see his brother's true reaction through his facial expressions.
Though he had said nothing, his body language was betraying his indifference.
It was sending out a warning, and a very strong one.
'Stay away from Kagome.'
