Sofia And Madeline The Second
Sofia and Madeline were dancing in their room, moving in small circles. Clover was lying on the window seat, watching them while eating a carrot.
"How's that?" Sofia asked
"I like it." Clover admitted, hopping down to the floor. "But it could use a little more flair. Check it!"
Clover pulled off some hip-hop style moves.
"Now you try it." He told Sofia and Madeline.
Sofia and Madeline tried to copy Clover's moves, but ended up falling over.
"Perfect." Clover applauded.
"It was?" Madeline asked.
"Close enough." Clover shrugged. "I think you're ready for this hoedown today, princesses."
"It's not a hoedown, Clover." Sofia declared, picking him up, and dancing him over to her bed. "It's the highland hootenanny, and it's going to be a-mazing!"
"All of our friends from the village will be there, Amber and James are coming..." Madeline reeled off. "And our favourite band in Enchancia is going to be playing."
"Who, The Moss tones?" Clover asked.
"Nope, The Glass Slippers." Sofia smiled.
There was a knock at the door. Sofia helped Clover hide behind a pillow.
"Come in!" Madeline called.
"Good morning, girls." Roland declared as he entered.
"Morning, dad!" The girls chorused.
"So... I'm afraid there's been a little change of plans." Roland frowned.
"What do you mean?" Sofia asked.
"The duke of Ramblingham and his daughter Joy are coming today instead of tomorrow." Roland announced.
"Today?" Madeline gasped. "Why?"
"The duke said he just couldn't wait another minute to discuss his urgent business... whatever that is." Roland sighed.
"But today is the hootenanny." Sofia protested.
"I know, and I'm sorry." Roland apologized. "But you two promised you'd show lady Joy around the Castle."
"You're right dad." Madeline nodded.
"We'll do it." Sofia agreed.
"Great." Roland smiled. "Thank you both. I can always count on you two."
Roland left the bedroom.
"Oh Clover, we were really looking forwed to the dance!" Madeline sighed, flopping onto her bed.
"Yeah, but a promise is a promise." Sofia noted.
"Yeah, too bad you can't be in two places at the same time." Clover declared.
"If only we could." Madeline sighed.
"You want to help us pick out a welcome gift for Kate?" Sofia asked.
"Sure, Princess." Clover nodded.
Sofia and Madeline picked out a doll. As they went into the hallway, Wormwood flew past them.
"Stop pointing that thing at me!" The raven yelped, hiding behind a golden pot.
"Come back here, Wormy!" Cedric called, running over.
"Mr. Cedric?" Madeline asked. "What are you doing?"
"Well, if you must Know I am trying to use my new copying spell on Wormwood." Cedric explained. "So instead of just one loyal companion, I can have twenty." Cedric pointed his wand at Wormwood. "Doppler Duplicato!"
Wormwood dodged the beam, which copied the pot. The copy appeared in mid-air, and fell on Cedric's feet. Cedric screamed with pain.
Wormwood flew by a banner of a former queen.
"Doppler Duplicato!" Cedric yelled.
Wormwood dodged again and the second banner fell on Cedric. Wormwood then perched on a suit of armor.
"I command you to stay right there!" Cedric ordered. "Doppler Duplicato!"
Once again, Wormwood dodged, and the suit was duplicated. Wormwood flew down the hall, and Cedric chased after him, repeating his spell.
"That's it." Sofia smiled. "Maddie, I have an idea. Come on."
Sofia, Madeline and Clover snuck into Cedric's workshop. The girls picked up two of Cedric's spare wands.
"Now maybe we can be in two places at once." Madeline smiled.
"How?" Clover asked.
"We make copies of ourselves using Mr. Cedric's spell." Sofia explained.
"So we can go to the dance, while our copies stay here and play with Joy." Madeline continued. "Then our dad's happy, we're happy, everybody is happy."
"I like it!" Clover smiled. "But that sounds like a tricky spell. Especially for someone who's not a sorcerer."
"You're right." Sofia nodded. "Maybe we should practice it first."
"That's just what I'm thinking." Clover nodded. "You gotta test it out. On those apples!" He pointed to a couple of apples on a shelf.
"Good idea." Madeline smiled.
Clover ducked. The two girls pointed their wands at the apples and said "Doppler Duplicato". The force of the beam knocked them both back, but succeeded in duplicating the apples.
"That's funny." Clover tapped one of the duplicates. "It's pink, but it looks just as delicious!" He started juggling the apple. I think you got it, princesses! But, er... we need to make a few more, just to be sure."
"Sorry Clover, we don't have much time." Sofia giggled.
"Here goes." Madeline declared.
The girls said "Doppler Duplicato" and tapped themselves with the wands. Two duplicates were made. The duplicate Sofia had a pink dress, while the duplicate Madeline had a blue one.
"Whoa." Clover gasped. "They look just like you, except the dresses.."
"Hi, there." Sofia and Madeline chorused.
"Hi, there." The copies repeated.
"I'm Sofia, and this is Madeline." Sofia declared.
"I'm Sofia, and this is Madeline." The Sofia copy repeated.
"So, do you just repeat everything we say?" Madeline asked.
"So, do you just repeat everything we say?" The copy Madeline, before smiling. "Hah! Just kidding!"
"No, we can say whatever we want." The Sofia copy declared. "Just like you."
"Oh, good." Sofia smiled. "Now, I suppose you're wondering why we made you..."
"I suppose you're about to tell us." The Madeline copy joked.
"We need you to play with a little girl named Joy, so we can go to the village dance." Madeline explained. "Okay?"
"Sounds like fun!" The copy Sofia smiled.
"I'd love to!" The copy Madeline added.
"Great." Sofia beamed, giving her copy the doll. "Joy should be here any minute. All you have to do is give her this gift, and show her around the castle."
"Can't wait!" The Sofia copy sang.
"Okay, good luck." Madeline smiled, as she and Sofia left the workshop.
"Have fun at the dance, kids!" Clover waved. He took a bite of the apple... and spat it out. "This is rotten!"
"Uh-huh." The Madeline copy sneered. "Just like us."
"Whoops!" The Sofia copy threw away the doll. "We won't be needing that!"
"The girls must've messed up the spell!" Clover gasped. "They made a couple of bad apples!"
"And a bad Sofia and Madeline!" The Madeline copy picked up Clover and locked him in Wormwood's cage.
"Sofia!" Clover called. "Madeline!"
"No, no, no." The Sofia copy smirked. "We can't have you telling the real Sofia and Madeline and ruining all our fun!"
"Hey, let me outta here!" Clover growled.
"No thanks." The Madeline copy giggled.
Clover reached for one of the original apples.
"I'll take that." The Sofia copy snatched it up and took a bite out of it.
"You really are rotten." Clover snarled.
"To the core!" The Sofia copy smiled.
The copies skipped over to the door.
"Buh-bye!" The Madeline copy sang, before slamming it shut.
Downstairs, the copies saw Amber and James walking over.
"Ooh, opportunity!" The Sofia copy smirked. "Hey James, think fast!"
The Sofia copy threw the apple at James' feet, causing him to trip. Both copies laughed.
"Sofia, why would you do that?" James asked.
"Because it was hilarious!" The Sofia copy grinned.
"Really hilarious!" The Madeline copy added.
"No, it wasn't!" James pouted.
"That's so unlike you, girls." Amber noted. She checked their foreheads. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Never better!" The Madeline copy declared.
"See you at the coach." James grumbled.
As Amber and James walked to the coach, the real Sofia and Madeline walked past them.
"Hi!" Sofia smiled. "Ready to go?"
"How did you get out here so fast?" Amber asked.
"What do you mean?" Madeline asked.
"And weren't you just wearing pink and blue dresses?" Amber added.
"Oh, right." Sofia said awkwardly. "We changed."
"When?" Amber asked.
"Just now." Madeline shrugged. "We'd better hurry. The dance is about to start."
"Come on!" Sofia smiled.
They rushed over to the coach and got in.
After they left. another coach arrived. Roland and Baileywick stepped out as a fanfare played.
"May I present lord Gilbert, the duke of Ramblingham, and his daughter, lady Joy." Baileywick announced, as the rotund duke and his small daughter emerged.
"Greetings, everyone!" Gilbert said loudly. "Your favourite duke has arrived!"
"Sorry we're late!" The Sofia copy told Roland as they walked over.
"Just had to take care of a little business." The Madeline copy added.
"King Roland!" Gilbert bowed.
"Lord Gilbert." Roland nodded.
"Hi, Sofia! Hi, Madeline!" Joy waved. "I'm so happy to finally meet you!"
"And we are just thrilled to meet you!" The Sofia copy smiled.
"Do you want to see our room?" The Madeline copy asked.
"Yes, I'd love to!" Joy nodded.
As the girls went inside, Roland turned to Gilbert.
"So, what's the urgent business that couldn't wait until tomorrow?" He asked.
"Well, uh, remember last month, when I had the inspiration to hold a parade with two hundred elephants?" Gilbert smiled. "Well, I did it! With two hundred and four! I even had a dream that we made some polka-dotted, so we did!" Gilbert's servant unrolled a painting of polka-dotted elephants walking through Ramblingham. "And it was a magnificent parade! Until we discovered that the Ramblingham bridge is only strong enough to hold two hundred and three elephants." The servant unrolled another painting, depicting the bridge in ruins. "Luckily, the elephants were all okay. The bridge, on the other hand? Not so lucky. And that is why I am here, your majesty. To humbly request that your royal builder design a new, slightly stronger bridge."
"I see." Roland mused. "Baileywick, can you summon the royal builder?"
"Of course, your majesty." Baileywick bowed.
"Thank you, your majesty." Gilbert shook Roland's hand, then hugged him. "You're the best king a duke could ask for!"
"A simple 'thank you' is enough." Roland pulled free. "Really."
Meanwhile, the hootenanny was in full swing as the royal kids arrived..
"Oh, we love this song!" Sofia smiled.
"Hey, there's Ruby and Jade." James pointed.
"Hey, guys!" Madeline waved.
"You ready to dance?" Sofia asked. "Madeline and I have really been looking forward to this!"
"We're so glad we didn't miss it!" Madeline added.
Back at the castle, Cedric was still trying (and failing) to duplicate Wormwood.
"Wormwood, would you stay still and let me copy you?!" He growled, ducking as Wormwood flew over him. "Doppler Duplicato!"
The spell hit a stool, and Cedric tripped over the duplicate.
"Alright Wormy, I give up." Cedric sighed. "For now..."
Joy and the copies walked by.
"I love your castle." Joy told the copies. "And I love your dresses. And I really, really love your Amulets. They're so pretty and sparkly!"
"Oh, this thing?" The Sofia copy removed her Amulet. "Here, take it."
Joy squealed as she put on the Amulet. The copies yawned as she did so.
"Thank you, Sofia!" She smiled. "I love it!"
Cedric and Wormwood gasped.
"Wormwood, d-d-d-did you see that?!" Cedric pointed. "Sofia, she just... gave the Amulet of Avalor away!"
"So, what are we gonna do now?" Joy asked.
"Cause as much trouble as possible." The Madeline copy smirked.
"What?" Joy asked, confused.
"We're going to prank people." The Sofia copy said slowly. "Play tricks, be rotten... you know, have fun."
"Umm... I don't really wanna do that." Joy cringed.
"Why not?" The Madeline copy asked.
"Princess Sofia." Cedric walked up to them. "Did you really just give your precious Amulet to a little girl?"
"Why?" The Sofia copy asked. "Do you want it?"
"Well... yes!" Cedric admitted. "Or failing that, princess Madeline's!"
"Hmm." The Madeline copy mused. "Well, if you close your eyes, and wish for it, I'll give it to you."
"Really?!" Cedric gasped.
"That's what she said." The Sofia copy grinned.
"Now close your eyes, and wish." Madeline instructed.
"Oh, I wish for the Amulet of Avalor, I wish for the Amulet of Avalor..." Cedric repeated, unaware that the copies were leaving with Joy. "I wish for the Amulet of Avalor!"
As he held out his hands, Cedric realised something was wrong. He opened his eyes.
"Did the princesses just... trick me?!" He frowned.
Meanwhile, at the Hootenanny, Sofia and Madeline were dancing with Amber, James was dancing with Ruby and Jade. The Glass Slippers started singing.
Choir: If I make a promise to a friend as grand as you, to that special promise, you can bet that I'll be true! Main Singer: And so I say that any day we make a date to play, I'll be there with time to spare no matter what's in my way! Choir: He'll be there no matter what gets in his way!

The lyrics began to strike a chord with Sofia and Madeline. They realised they hadn't kept their word to their father.
"Sofia? Madeline? Are you two okay?" Amber asked.
"Oh. Mm-hmm." Madeline nodded
"Yes, we were just listening to the song." Sofia fumbled.
"Oh, I wasn't paying attention." Amber shrugged. "What was it about?"
"Keeping promises, no matter what." Sofia sighed.
Meanwhile, back at the castle, the copies ran with Joy down the hallway, laughing.
"That trick was mean!" Joy admonished them.
"We know." The Sofia copy giggled. "Now come on, let's go find someone else to prank!"
"But I don't want to prank anyone else!" Joy declared.
"Then what do you want to do?" The Madeline copy asked.
"Take a tour of the castle?" Joy suggested.
"That sound like fun to you?" The Sofia copy asked.
"Wow. Going to the dance was the way better part of this deal." The Madeline copy declared.
"Dance?" Joy asked. "What dance?"
"Okay Joy, tell you what." The Sofia copy smiled. "We'll give you a tour of the castle."
"But let's play hide and seek first." The Madeline copy added.
"Ohh, I love hide and seek!" Joy cheered.
"You hide, we'll seek. "The Sofia copy instructed. "Go on."
The copies started counting, and Joy ran down the corridor. Once she was gone, they stopped counting.
"Buh-bye Joy." The Madeline copy waved.
"So long, little miss no-fun." The Sofia copy added.
The copies ran down the corridor, laughing wickedly, as they made their way to the coaches.
"Coachman, we need you to take us to the village dance." The Madeline copy declared.
"Well, yes." The coachman helped him into the coach. "But didn't I just see you both go to the dance?"
"Obviously not." The Sofia copy spat. "Now hurry."
"Of course, milady." The coachman bowed.
The coach took off.
Meanwhile, Cedric was discussing matters with Wormwood on the way to his workshop.
"Maybe Sofia giving her Amulet away is good news after all." He declared.
Wormwood squawked in confusion.
"Because now, all I'll have to do is get it from that little girl, and she is certainly no match for me." Cedric smiled.
Wormwood chuckled.
"I just need to find something I can trade her for it." Cedric mused, taking the key to his workshop out from the gargoyle's toe. "Now, what do little girls like most? Hmm... Of course! A cupcake! I'll conjure an enormous, irresistibly delicious cupcake, and offer it to her for the Amulet! Oh, that'll do the trick!"
Cedric opened the door, finding Clover in Wormwood's cage.
"Oh, how did you get in here?" He asked. "Oh wait, doesn't matter. Because if there's anything little girls like more than cupcakes, it's bunnies!"
Back at the hootenanny, Sofia and Madeline's dancing was interrupted by the arrival of the copies.
"Hi there." The Madeline copy smirked.
"You shouldn't be here!" Madeline gasped.
"What are you doing here?" Sofia asked.
"Looking for something fun to do." The Sofia copy replied. "And I think we found it."
"But if you're here, then who's playing with Joy?" Madeline asked.
"That's your problem." The Madeline copy pointed.
"You two are not being very nice." Sofia declared.
"That's because we're not very nice." The Sofia copy smirked. "I'm a bad Sofia."
"And I'm a bad Madeline." The Madeline copy added.
"Oh, no!" Madeline gasped.
"Oh, yes." Bad Sofia declared. "You can call us Sofia and Madeline the worst."
The copies moved into the dancing crowd.
"Hey, come back here!" Sofia yelled.
Bad Madeline danced with Amber, then stood on her foot.
"Ow!" Amber yelped. "Madeline, why did you do that?"
"Because it was fun!" Bad Madeline sneered.
"Way fun!" Bad Sofia added.
"Humph!" Amber huffed, just as Sofia took her hands. "What has gotten into you two? And why do you keep changing your dresses?"
"Umm, can't talk right now." Madeline spotted the copies, and pulled Sofia away. "Sorry!"
As they made their way through the crowd, Sofia spotted her copy throwing James into a hay bale.
"Oh, no!" She gasped.
Bad Sofia laughed, before joining Bad Madeline for more fun.
Back at the castle, one of the servants saw Joy crouched in her hiding place.
"Um, is everything alright there, mum?" He asked.
"Yes." Joy answered. "I'm playing hide and seek with princess Sofia and princess Madeline. They're going to find me any minute now."
"But, er..." The servant stuttered. "They flew off in a coach a few minutes ago, mum."
"They left?!" Joy said indignantly. "I'm telling daddy!"
Joy stomped away angrily.
Back at the hootenanny, the copies were still causing trouble, and Sofia and Madeline found themselves apologizing for them.
"Sorry for whatever I just did!" Madeline told a woman.
"Excuse me, so sorry!" Sofia said to a man.
They spotted their copies knocking a man's hat off.
"Hey!" The man yelled.
As the copies laughed, Sofia and Madeline took the opportunity to drag them behind a barn.
"What do you think you're doing?" Bad Madeline asked.
"We have to go back to the castle before dad finds out no-one's playing with joy." Madeline declared.
"And you two have to stay out of trouble until we get back." Sofia added.
"We don't want to do that at all." Bad Sofia declared.
"Yes, we love playing." Bad Madeline grinned.
"We figured." Madeline noted. "That's why we're putting you in here."
Sofia and Madeline pushed their copies into the barn and locked the door.
"Hey, let us out of here!" Bad Madeline yelled.
"Right now!" Bad Sofia added.
"Not until we fix everything." Sofia declared.
"Ohh, what have we done?" Madeline groaned.
Back at the castle, Joy was marching over to the room her father and Roland were in. She knocked on the door, and a servant answered.
"Yes, lady Joy?" He asked.
"I'd like to talk to my daddy, please." Joy requested.
"Oh, he's very busy right now, dear." The servant explained. "But they'll be breaking for just a few minutes."
"Humph, fine." Joy sat down, prepared to wait.
Inside Roland's office, the royal builder unveiled his model of Ramblingham's new bridge.
"May I present your new bridge, my lord." He declared.
"It's a little plain, isn't it?" Lord Gilbert frowned.
"I think what the duke is trying to say is we were expecting something... oh, grander!" Roland proclaimed.
"Exactly!" Lord Gilbert smiled. "This is a great jumping-off point, but how about adding an arch over here?" He added a model arch to the bridge, and then another. "And here?"
"Oh..." The royal builder cringed.
"And here!" Lord Gilbert added.
"And maybe some towers here?" Roland joined in. "And here, and here!"
"Sire, please." The royal builder pleaded. "The model is extremely fragile!"
"And while we're at it, I'll just add some curvy pieces, too!" Lord Gilbert declared. "Add a decorative element!"
"Please, be careful." The royal builder tried to direct them. "I wouldn't put that there... Oh, now that's just upside down."
Back at the village, the copies were trying to get out of the barn.
"I can't believe they locked us up!" Bad Madeline snarled, as they climbed up a pile of hay bales.
"Yeah, nobody puts us in a barn!" Bad Sofia added, as Bad Madeline pushed open the window. They slid out, falling onto some leaves. "Boy, are we gonna make them pay for that."
"Enough talk." Bad Madeline pulled a twig out of her hair. "Let's go."
Back at the castle, Joy was still waiting. Cedric sauntered over to her.
"Hello there, little one." He smiled widely. "Tell me, do you like bunnies?" He pulled out Clover, and patted him on the head. "Of course you do!"
"He's so cute!" Joy cooed.
"Yes, cute." Cedric bounced Clover in his hands. "He's pre-owned, but still in fine condition."
"I love him!" Joy smiled.
"Well then, what would you say if I told you could have him...?" Cedric offered.
Joy squealed, and reached for Clover. Cedric moved him out of her grasp.
"...For the low, low price of that purple Amulet you are wearing?" Cedric finished.
"It's a deal!" Joy declared.
Cedric chuckled maniacally.
At the same time, Sofia and Madeline had returned to the castle.
"Oh, I hope we're not too late!" Sofia fretted.
Just as they went inside, another coach landed, and the copies came out of it. Bad Sofia found some oil on a nearby barrel.
"Ooh, oil!" She smirked. "Now the real fun begins!"
"Oh, what's the plan?" Bad Madeline asked as they entered the castle.
"I don't think these castle floors are slippery enough." Bad Sofia cackled. "But they will be!"
Meanwhile, Sofia and Madeline interrupted Cedric and Joy's exchange.
"Sofia?" Joy gasped. "Madeline?"
"Girls!" Clover cheered.
"Sofia and Madeline?!" Cedric groaned.
"Joy, we're so sorry we left you alone." Madeline declared.
"We won't do it again, I promise." Sofia added. "Thank you so much, Mr. Cedric, for looking after her."
"Oh, and you found Clover!" Madeline noted.
As Sofia reached for Clover, Cedric realized she was wearing her Amulet.
"Wait, why are there three Amulets here?" He gasped.
Suddenly, they heard Baileywick slip and fall outside.
"Baileywick, are you alright?" Sofia asked.
Baileywick was leaning against an upturned trolley, broken crockery around him.
"Not at all." He declared. "Who oiled the floors?"
As the group looked at the oil on the floor, they followed it to Bad Sofia and Bad Madeline, who were cackling wickedly.
"We're back!" Bad Madeline cackled, and they started running.
"We've got to stop them!" Madeline declared, as they gave chase. Joy ran after them.
"Wait, wait!" Cedric ran after Joy. "I can still offer you a cupcake in exchange for that Amulet!" He slipped on some oil and fell on his back. "Any Amulet!"
The copies entered the kitchen.
"It is way too neat in here!" Bad Sofia declared, knocking over all the pots and pans. "That's better!"
Bad Madeline went over to a cook about to taste his dish.
"How's the stew?" She knocked the spoon out of his hand.
"Hey!" The cook yelped.
"Sorry!" Madeline apologized, picking up the spoon. "Here's your spoon!"
Clover and Sofia ran past, followed by Joy.
"Excuse me!" Joy called.
"That's alright." The cook waved, as Cedric ran in.
"I-" Cedric was interrupted mid-sentence, as the cook accidentally hit him in the face with his spoon, and he fell down again.
Meanwhile, the copies ran down a hall filled with suits of armor, knocking them over as they passed them.
"No!" Sofia yelled. "Don't!"
"Crash! Boom! Bang!" Bad Sofia smirked as the armors fell.
"Oh, my knights in falling armor!" Bad Madeline jeered.
Sofia, Madeline, Joy and Clover managed to run past as the suits slowly toppled. Cedric tried to slip underneath them, but they all toppled onto him. He emerged with a helmet on his head.
"I can't see!" He said, muffled. "I can't see!"
Cedric walked into a wall.
Meanwhile, Lord Gilbert was still adding to the model bridge.
"And take one of these..." He placed a golden winged elephant figurine on an arch. "Bring out the highlights with this, slap that on the back..." He added two gold wings to the center, before picking up a column. "Whimsy is always good... Oh, and we can't forget this piece, right here!" He stepped back to admire the finished product. "I don't know what it is, but I like it!"
"Ohhh..." The royal builder groaned.
Outside, the copies hid from their good counterparts, then followed the servant with the tea.
"Tea is served, my lords." The servant announced.
"Great!" Roland smiled. "Because we're done."
"But we're not!" Bad Sofia declared, knocking the tea tray out of the servant's hands.
"Ooh, nice bridge!" Bad Madeline declared, before she knocked over all the arches. "Oops, oops, oops, oops!"
The whole model collapsed.
"Oh, excuse us!" Bad Sofia grinned.
"Girls!" Roland frowned.
"Dad!" Sofia and Madeline chorused as they entered. They then helped the servant with his tea cups.
"Sofia? Madeline?" Roland asked. "But you're already here! How can there be two of each of you?"
"Well..." Sofia gulped.
"There are four of you?" Joy gasped, dropping the Amulet.
"Ohhhh!" Cedric slipped down the corridor and crashed into the door, the impact knocking off the helmet. Landing on the floor, he spotted the Amulet. "The Amulet? It's mine! All mine!" He then noticed the copies. "What?!"
"What is going on here, girls?" Roland asked.
"They made us!" Bad Madeline pointed.
Roland frowned. Sofia and Madeline looked at each other, then sighed.
"We used Mr. Cedric's copying spell to make copies of ourselves." Sofia confessed.
"So this isn't the real Amulet?" Cedric's face fell. "It's just a... fake?"
"Why would you do that?" Roland asked.
"We wanted to go to the hootenanny, but we promised you we'd play with Joy." Madeline sighed. "So we thought if there were more of us, we could do both things."
"Instead, we wound up making a mess of everything." Sofia declared.
"Wasn't it a-mazing?" Bad Sofia smirked.
"Mr. Cedric?" Madeline asked. "Can you reverse the spell?"
"Of course I can." Cedric growled.
"Well, it was fun while it lasted." Bad Madeline declared.
"Super fun." Bad Sofia added. "Buh-bye!"
"Doppler dominikin!" Cedric recited.
The copies melted and vanished in a puff of purple dust, laughing all the while. Cedric looked at his hand as the copy Amulet faded also.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to retreat to my workshop to cry." He announced.
"Girls, if you make a promise, you should always keep it." Roland declared.
"We know." Sofia sighed.
"We're sorry, dad." Madeline added.
"I appreciate that." Roland smiled. "But I don't think I'm the one you owe an apology to, hmm?"
"You're right." Sofia nodded, as she and Madeline turned to Joy. "Joy, we're so sorry we went to the dance instead of staying here with you."
"But we're going to make it up to you." Madeline declared. "We'll start with a tour of the castle. And then, we can do anything we want."
"Well... I do love dancing." Joy smiled.
"Really?" Sofia smiled. "You wanna go to the Hootenanny?"
"I've never been to a hootenanny, but I'm sure I'll love it!" Joy beamed.
"Excellent." Lord Gilbert smiled. "You girls go do that, while we figure out or bridge!"
"How about this, sires?" The royal builder offered a rebuilt version of the original.
"I love it!" Lord Gilbert chuckled.
"Me too!" Roland agreed.
"Why didn't you show us this to begin with?" Lord Gilbert asked.
"I did." The royal builder groaned. "Before you changed it all. But I'm so glad you like it."
"Thank you, my king." Lord Gilbert smiled.
"You're quite welcome." Roland declared.
Back at the Hootenanny, Amber was getting some punch when Sofia, Madeline and Joy approached.
"Stay back." Amber recoiled, holding the ladle like a weapon.
"It's okay, Amber." Madeline declared. "Everything's fine, now."
"What is going on with you today, girls?" Amber asked.
"We'll tell you everything later." Sofia promised. "But right now, it's time to dance."
"Come on, Joy." Madeline led Joy onto the dance floor.
"Wait!" Amber called. "You have to at least tell me how you keep changing so quickly!"
Sofia, Madeline and Joy started dancing.
"I'm so glad I got to spend the day with you two." Joy smiled. "The real you. ...These are the real you's, right?"
"Yes." Sofia nodded. "It's the real us."
"No more copies." Madeline pledged.
