Chapter 10- REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW
AN- I can't even remember what happened in Nikki's first episodes send help….
(ok, I need to know whether you think it might be good to write this chapter form the point of view of first jenny then Nikki? Thoughts)
It was the first Monday back after a blissful summer. Jenny was slouched in a seat in the staffroom with a mug of strong coffee which, she realised after she had seen her new timetable was not strong enough. Double year 8 on a Monday morning?! She wondered what kind of sadist wrote these things. Her holiday had been pretty good, despite the niggling pain in her leg she had managed a week climbing in France with a couple of friends then back home. Although it had been nice, she wished she had made more of it, which was a familiar feeling. Every year she set out with such great intentions yet seemed to spend more time in bed with her Netflix account and a bag of popcorn thinking about adulthood. She was absentmindedly flicking through one of those career magazines that people get but don't read but still buy, when Michael walked in ready for staff briefing, she was sat with her back to him yet she didn't even bother turning round, she heard his droning Scottish accent.
'Right, welcome back everyone; I hope you've all had a relaxing time off', jenny rolled her eyes. He carried on, 'I just wanted to congratulate you all on the improving exam results we had over the summer, still a long way to go yet! This year the we're trying to focus on getting all our year 11 students through school with at least a C grade in either maths or English', there were a few murmurs amongst her colleagues most recognisably a loud snort from Grantly Budgen which made Jenny smile. Michael seemed undeterred,
'without further ado, I'd like to introduce a new member to our teaching faculty, this is Nikki Boston', Jenny's eyes widened she didn't hear anymore of what Michael was saying, it couldn't be her could it? Her hands felt sweaty, she had to turn around and look…
It was her. It was her. Jenny had so many emotions swirling around inside of her that she thought she may have vomited. Nikki was beautiful, really beautiful, she hadn't really changed much, maybe she was taller? Her jaw line was more pronounced? She looked good in a suit though. Nikki smiled as Michael started listing her credentials; she had been in the army? Woah. She clearly hadn't seen Jenny whose mouth was wide open.
AN- I decided as I wrote this chapter that I will do the same chapter from Nikki's POV then carry on the story from there, you're welcome.
