New chapter, yay! I wanted to update this before my holidays ended, and here it is (just on time). I hope this delay doesn't affect your interests in this story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this.
It was a few days later since Pit had sent the comment. At first, it didn't seem like anyone would ever response, but after a week they had received a response. It was once again in the Media Markt, but this time behind a different laptop. They went to the same website. The man's comment stood under Pit's comment.
'Oh, let's read it!' Kite said. They bowed their heads over the laptop to read the text box. It said: Well, it is not easy to even come in contact with an angel. I don't know. A friend brought a few with him at a party, and he got them through the grapevine. He has some connections you know. Maybe he can help you. This is his phone number: The rest of the comment was a combination of numbers.
'I guess this is his phone number,' Pit said. 'Though it is strange he reveals it, while anybody can read this.'
'But we should at least try,' Kite said. 'So, let's get a phone and find out how it works.' They walked to a different side of the store. With their emergency money, they bought a phone. It took some time before they knew how to use it, but finally, they could dial the given number. The bleeps indicated there was connection. It didn't take long before a man's voice came from the speaker.
'Hello?' he asked.
'Good day, sir. Can I ask something?' Pit said.
'Uhh...okay. I don't have much time, but a short question should be fine.' Pit's heart rhythm started to speed up. They could ask. They could find some new clues.
'I spoke a friend of yours lately about an angel. Do you know more about it? Don't worry, I won't tell anyone anything you say here. Trust me.'
'Oh, about the angel. You sound trustworthy. All right then, I got in touch with some people in Las Vegas. If you want one, you can try looking in casinos for chaps. You know, that kind of person that looks like it is dealing drugs. Some of them deal in angels. If you have enough money, they will personally bring you to their company. Pretty dark business, but the angels are pretty.'
'Serious? Well, you can guess where I'm going,' Pit said. 'But really thanks for the information.'
'Well, I'm glad I was of some help. I wish you a good day, sir.'
'Same,' and with that, Pit ended the call. Kite gave Pit a curious look. Of course she wanted to know the story. So, Pit quoted the man's words. Kite's eyes grew in excitement.
'So, we know how to reach the angels. I bet Skyworld's vault has enough money to buy them all free.' Pit shook his head.
'No, otherwise we will create massive inflation. We have about 1000 dollar left. Let me think of something while we go to Las Vegas,' he said.
'Isn't that far from here. Las Vegas is the west coast, we're in Europe. Flying will be too exhausting,' Kite protested. Pit thought for a second. Humans did travel through the whole the world. Why couldn't they do the same? What was it called again? A plane, right?
'Then we go by plane,' Pit smiled while pointing at the sky.
A week passed. The angels left from Schiphol and arrived at McCarran International Airport. From there, they booked another hotel. It was far from cheap and Pit was afraid they might not have enough money to be shown the angels if they waited too long. The sun started to set and the neon-lights started to illuminate the city. Both angels stood before the mirror in the bathroom. Somehow, they were able to get themselves some fancy clothes for little money. They had to look rich after all. So Kite was pinning up her hair, while wearing a long black dress with a small jacket to hide her wings. Pit was making sure his bowtie looked okay. He was dressed in a tudexo, in which he looked pretty good actually.
'Looks like I'm gonna be mister fancy pants,' he joked about it. Kite released her hair, that was now in perfect shape.
'Have you made up a plan already?' Kite asked as she put on her heeled shoes.
'Actually, it's a super crazy one, but I think it's possible,' Pit said. Kite looked up.
'I'm all ears.'
'We can go to several places. I'll be talking to some guys, while you keep some distance. If I have found one, I will ask him for the price. If two angels are affordable, I will ask you to come along. You don't know anything and you are unrecognizable. You have sunglasses and a fancy hat. If they have shown the building. I will make an appointment, because I have forgotten my money at home. Then we go home and put you in your angel clothes. Around the time of my appointment, I will "find you" in the bushes nearby and handle you over...'
'What?!' Kite exclaimed. 'You are going t...'
'Let me finish. They will certainly take you with them. With one half of the money, I'll buy one angel to give some time. After a long conversation, I will decide that I'll buy you too. Thus, you're with me again, but this time you have seen much and much more. From there, we have information.'
'That's really absurd. How long did it take to make up this? It can work, but nothing must go wrong,' Kite said.
'There is no other option. And for the information, it took the past days to come up. I don't want to lose you, but we must do this.' Kite nodded.
'I trust and rely on you. I'm willing to possibly put my own life in danger for the sake of all the angels of Skyworld.' Both angels nodded and left the bathroom. They opened the door of their hotel and walked straight into the world of nightlife.
Will Pit's plan succeed? Or will it completely fail? And what are they about to discover? Feel free to answer! I would like to know your expectations. :)
-Pitta.
