Chapter 10: Coming Out

Kagome was kept busy almost constantly with the many interviews and medias in which she was invited to, even joining in on the various variety shows that were featuring the stars and sensations, especially the one that was based and revolved around the script in which she had written. Admittedly, it was really fun and had taken her mind and thoughts away the main thing that had been bothering her. Now she was finally happy with how her life had turned out to be, and had became a huge hit and sensation as well with others and meet new peers.

Sesshoumaru and Shippo as promised, were there with her when possible to share her woes and joy, even her family which she would still set time aside for despite of her busy work hours. She was still a filial daughter, granddaughter and a concern sister for her own brother despite how things seem somewhat opposite with their roles at times. For once, her life it was wonderful, great in fact and yet there was somehow this nagging at the back of her head that was constantly there, like the dripping of a loose water tap that she could not get rid of or turn off. And yet life still continues for her, and it was glamorous beyond words, but something that she could never get used to.

She remembered how much of a nervous wreck she was the first few weeks of being before the media, and it scared her so much. If it were not for the two youkai's companionship, she would have most probably cracked and break under the pressure in which she was so unused to. Everything in her life was going down a different path from what she had originally planned, and now with all these happenings, it was not just overwhelming but sometimes she feel that she did not have enough time to catch her breath even.

Kurama however was having certain trouble getting to meet with Kagome on countless of occasions in which he had been able to attain an invite to. Especially when the two ancient youkai seem to have caught wind of his presence no matter how much Kurama had tried to hide it. Their experiences were legendary, and one just as similar to Kagome's. He had originally after being told them to stay away, but after he had read the book that she had written, Kurama was sure that she still loved him despite of what he had done, and he had hope that with his sincere apology that she would perhaps overlook what he had done and returns to his side. It was a wistful thought of his, however the feeling of lost in him was immense and he was just about willing to do anything to get her back.

His chance came that one night when she was at one of the glamorous party thrown by the station and her publishing company for the success of the drama and the release of news of an upcoming project in which she was working on closely with another fellow writer. It was mentioned at the beginning of the party that it would be a new sensation in which they are in the midst of creating and had too started filming on already. He had watched Kagome and another male walked up to the small makeshift platform stage to speak about what could be expected in their collaboration. However what really sent a sharp stab through Kurama's heart was really the other trendy looking male that was just as charismatic and youthful look who appeared to be the gentleman as he helped Kagome up the stage. The male had settled a hand around her waist, and standing really close to her for the media that were busy snapping away and the cameras that were already filming it all down. He wanted to be back in that position of being close to her, and was sure that though he masked his expression, it was slowly cracking and shown through his eyes. She had yet to spot him through the crowd, and that was a really good thing.

He watches as the male whispered something into her ears causing her to laugh softly behind a hand as she in turn replied him with the same smile that was originally his. They make such a handsome couple as many around his whispered and murmured out their thoughts of the pair on stage. The media must have thought so as well when they had asked that one questioned that had cause the male to give them a smile and saying something vague that indicated nothing about their relationship on either stand. Kagome had batted him playfully with her hand saying to the audiences that they were merely just friends to which the male had humored her with a shrug to the media in an almost non-committal manner. It was a stir all right when they got off the stage as the members of the crowd flocked around them, all there to congratulate on their success and upcoming release. Kurama saw that it was difficult to approach her, however it was clear that it would be a while, so as he approach the crowd his sense numb, unsure of how to present himself to her after what he had done. To make matters worse if he did not do anything now and try, then he might really stand to have no chance at all with her again.

It took her a while, but when her eyes settled upon Kurama, whatever that she was saying froze in mid-sentence, the questions kept pouring, but her eyes were on her former boyfriend, her ex-fiancé. All eyes were on them as silence befall between them and harsh whispers started spreading before even more questions were being raised.
