"Well it all started after the Pan Globals. I got the Gold for the US, and once the competition finished I started training for the 2004 Summer Olympics. But I had a stalker. Long story short he murdered my parents and I had to be relocated under a different identity, Julianna Callaghan. The government falsified documents and some Canadian agents were paid to pose as friends and family. Kimberly Hart no longer exists." As Kim took a breath, Jason spoke up. "Wait, how does Sergeant Parker fit into all of this?" Kim smiled at Greg. "Greg is my handler. He was working within an agency at the time, and he helped create my identity. Once he moved to the SRU I joined the RCMPs and eventually moved over to SRU as well." The rangers nodded, satisfied, and turned to Greg as he spoke up.
"I do have a question. What is Ooze, and why did you all freak out when Jason said it?" The rangers, including Jules, stiffened and looked at each other, before turning to Jason expectantly. Jason sighed before turning to Jules. "It's your choice, sis."
Jules nodded thoughtfully before turning to Greg. "What I'm about to tell you is way above your security clearance. It's above almost all government officials minus the president of the USA and the Prime Minister. You speak of this to anyone besides who I say, and we will have you buried in a cell under three thousand tons of steel. Do you understand?" Greg nodded. "Before we get to discussing Ooze, I need to give you a bit of background. Back in '93, there was a cosmic being from Eltar that went by the name of Zordon. He and his assistant, Alpha 5, were given a great power that would be used to protect the world from evil forces. An evil being named Rita Repulsa,"
Jules paused as the Greg snorted at the name, "Fitting isn't it. Anyways, Rita escaped her containment and began planning to take over Earth. In response, Zordon chose five teenagers to become the first Earth based Power Rangers team. The original five were Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, and myself."
At Greg's shocked look, she and the other rangers chuckled. "Take what you're feeling right now, add in cluelessness and anxiety and you pretty much got the hailstorm of emotions we were feeling when we were told we were going to be Power Rangers by a being locked in time warp. We were rangers for a couple of months when a new kid came along, one who was incredibly skilled in martial arts. He was turned into the evil green ranger, trashed our command center, and almost killed us. We finally figured out his identity. It was Tommy." Greg turned to Tommy in surprise, and in return got a sheepish smile and a downcast glance at the floor. Jason walked over to Tommy and put a hand on his shoulder.
Jules sent a soft smile Tommy's way, and continued. "Once we found out who he was, we figured out Rita was controlling him through the Sword of Darkness. We destroyed the sword, and it released the hold it had on Tommy. Once he was good again, he joined our team and fought beside us. Fast forwarding a couple months to Ooze. At this point Tommy is now the White Ranger, and the leader. Jason, Trini, and Zack were chosen to represent the United States at a peace conference in Geneva, Switzerland, and were replaced by Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. A little while after they joined, we were doing a charity skydiving competition when we were summoned by Zordon. A hyperlock chamber that contained Ivan Ooze was being opened for the first time in six thousand years. We underestimated him. Within an hour he drained our powers and destroyed own Command Center, destroying Zordon's tube in the process. We used what remaining power we had to teleport to the planet Phaedos to retrieve the power of the Ninjetti. Once we completed our mission and received the powers we returned home, destroying both Ooze and his ectomorphicons. Or so we thought."
Greg nodded thoughtfully. "So what do we do now that he's back?" Kim shook her head. "Team One isn't capable of doing anything. We don't have the weapons or power to defeat him. The rangers on the other hand, do." The former rangers looked at each other slowly before turning back to Kim. "We don't have our ranger powers anymore Kim." Kim smiled mysteriously. "I know. Get my release papers. I got work to do."
There is no excuse. I just got lazy. College is crazy, but the load is lightening up now so I'll have more time to write. I realize this chapter is super short, but I figured since most of you probably already know the backstory, I'd just run through it quickly to get to the next chapter. This is gonna be fun :)
