I pace around Viviana's room for I don't know how long, thinking of what just happened between me and Jackson and then I'm suddenly broken from my thought by a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, you ok?" Viviana asks me with a worried expression.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine", I wave off and give Viviana a fake smile.
"Are you sure? Jack didn't say anything stupid or offensive to you, did he?" Viviana questions nervously.
"Yes, I sure and no, Jackson didn't say anything stupid to me. He was actually really sweet. But, there is something I need to tell you", I saw in a low tone.
"Really? My brother sweet? Nah, I'm sure my mom just threatened him. And, I don't want to hear what you have to say", Viviana quickly replies, shaking her head profusely.
"Viv, it's not what you think", I answer honestly.
She eyes me for a second, studying my face and debating if she really wants to know and if she believes me. Silence fills the room as we're in some sort of staring contest. I can already feel my palms sweat as Viviana just kept staring and not saying a word. "Viviana, please. It's important", I plead, trying to push this conversation along.
"Ok, fine", she finally sighs, taking a seat on her bed.
"Thank you", I smile, taking a deep breath before I continued. "So, that night at the summer festival, when you saw Jackson and I hug, well, there's more to that story".
"WHAT?" Viviana yell. "Is there something going on between you two?"
"What? No!" I quickly shut that down. "There's nothing between us. We don't even know each other. But, I was hugging him because he literally saved my life that night because what you don't know is that I have really bad panic attacks. Had them since I was a little girl and he pulled away and took me to a quiet and safe place".
"Oh my gosh Kim. I'm so sorry to hear that", Viviana starts, getting off her bed and giving me a hug. "And, in that case, I'm glad Jack was there. But, you know, just curious, what causes your attacks?"
"Um, big crowds", I mumble looking at the ground.
"Big crowds? I, wait-why didn't you tell me?" Viviana wonders hurtfully, like she just got punched in the gut.
"Because honestly, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I hadn't had an attack in years so; I thought I would be fine. But also, I wanted to conquer my fears and you were so excited about the festival and I didn't want to let you down", I explain gently.
"Oh Kim, you could have changed your mind. I would have understood if you told me about your panic attacks. But, thank you for being the strongest girl I know and for being the most amazing friend. Thank you for telling me and this could be our new project. I help you overcome your fears and you keep giving me hope in love, deal?" Viviana asks smiling.
"Deal", I nod, hugging Viviana again.
After we broke from the hug, we decide get to work, reorganizing Viviana's room a little bit and dragging a few air mattresses from the closest into the room as well. We then go down to the kitchen and start prepping the snacks as Jackson had to run to the store, again, as Viviana kept wanting other things. By the time Jackson returned and everything was done, it was close to six and just as the two of us sat down to relax, the doorbell rang. Rolling her eyes and pouting for about a second, Viviana gets up to answer the door, bracing herself for the loudness that is about to come as she opens the door and is greeted by Reagan and Winny. Viviana is instantly engulf in a hug by her two friends and I can't help but smile and laugh at the scene but then, without warning, I'm being squeezed to death by the two girls. Once we release, I catch Viviana's smirk as I glare in return as the doorbell rings again signaling Kelly has arrived and wraps up our group.
"Ok ladies, there's fruit, chips and candy in the kitchen, the pizza is on its way and we each get to pick out a movie for tonight", Viviana shares as we all follow her to the kitchen and are greeted by Jackson who had just finished making himself a sandwich.
"What up Jackass", Reagan greets, giving him a nod.
"Hey Jack", Winny adds, giving him a small wave.
"Reagan, Winny, always a pleasure", Jack acknowledges. "Viv", he smirks, walking past her. "Hello", he politely smiles at Kelly. "Kim", he finishes, winking at me as he exits the kitchen.
"What the hell was that?" Reagan wonders out loud and smiles at me.
"What?" I question, feeling confused.
"That wink Jackass just gave you. Is there something going on with the two of you?" Reagan pushes.
"What? No! We don't even know each other", I reply defensively for the second time today.
"Ok, ok. Sorry for asking", Reagan apologizes, putting her hands up in surrender.
"No, I'm sorry for yelling. Let's start over, ok? It's good to see you again Reagan", I smile.
"It's good to see you too Kim", Reagan grins, walking over to give me another hug.
We all grab a bunch of snacks and make our way up to Viviana's room, excited for a long and crazy night. We all caught each other up on our lives and by the time the pizza came, we were starving. The pizza was gone in record time and since we were now happy and full, we stared to vote on the movies. "Ok Rea, what move did you pick?" Viviana asks excitedly.
"Um, only the best ever. Jurassic Park", Reagan grins happily.
"Really Rea?" Viviana sighs, shaking her head.
"Yes! You can't go wrong with a classic", she shoots back.
"Ok, whatever you say. Win, what'd you pick out?" Viviana moves on.
"Well, I picked a classic as well but a much better one", Winny teases. "I chose Miss Congeniality!"
"Nice one!" Viviana smiles as I silently nod in agreement. "Ok Kelly, you're up".
"Well, I chose my all-time favorite; Mean Girls", Kelly shares proudly.
"Awesome! Kim?" Viviana continues, signaling to me.
"Um, I chose Legally Blonde", I say softly, though not quite sure why since I'm not really nervous.
"Good choice", Viviana nods and then adds, "And lastly, I chose 10 Things I Hate About You".
"I love all the choices but are we going to watch them all?" Winny wonders curiously.
"Yeah, maybe", Viviana shrugs her shoulders. "But first, we have to have a little bit fun, right?"
"Um, YES!" Winny and Reagan cheer enthusiastically.
"Ok then, let's do a little bit of truth and dare?" Viviana continues smirking widely.
"I like the way you think", Reagan grins excitedly.
"Well, thank you and I'm glad you think that because you're up first Rea. So, truth of dare", Viviana asks.
"Screw you", Reagan hisses angrily, "And dare".
"Ok, I dare you to call Lily and beg her to take you shopping for a senior year", Viviana tells her.
Gasps are heard from Reagan and Winny as Reagan looks like she's going to murder Viviana. "That's just fucked up and you know it", Reagan growls.
"You chose dare my friend", Viviana shot back, looking un-phased by Reagan angry demeanor. "And besides, Lily is not that bad", trying to reason the situation.
"Not that bad? Are you kidding me? She is and you can't deny that her peppy sprit attitude doesn't get on your nerves", Reagan fires back.
"Ok, so, she's a little for better words, um, enthusiastic but she doesn't mean anything bad by it. Now, stop stalling and call her". Viviana orders as Reagan goes to grab her phone.
"Who's Lily?" I whisper to Winny.
"Lily's the head cheerleader at our school. She's super cheery, like, all the time but, is a nice girl and kind of friends with everyone", Winny replies as I nod in understanding as Reagan's phone is put on speaker and placed in the center of the floor.
It rings a couple of times as Reagan's holding her breath, silently praying that Lily's won't answer but is out of luck when a sweet voice comes on the line and greets, "Hello?"
"Hey Lily, its Reagan", Reagan says in the perkiest voice she could muster.
"Hi Reagan!" Lily shouts happily. "What's up?"
"Oh, nothing much. You know, just enjoying the summer and all. But, I was wondering, um, you know, with senior year coming up next month and all, would you, um, like to go shopping with me?" Reagan forces out through gritted teeth.
"Really? You want to go shopping with me? Not that it's any of my business, but what about your other friends?" Lily questions hesitantly.
"Yeah, I like you style and I need something different and new. And my friends, they're all busy with family stuff, so?" Reagan wonders.
"Oh totally! I'll text you", Lily responds instantly.
"Great, we'll talk later. Bye", Reagan finishes, quickly hanging up.
Viviana and Winny are on their back, laughing hysterically as Reagan shudders. "Oh, that was priceless", Winny chuckles, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Oh, laugh it up Win because your next. Truth of dare my friend", Reagan smirks.
"You suck, you know that right? And truth", Winny replies with a serious expression.
"Ok, that Cody guys you were talking with before he started dating that girl, did you like him?" Reagan inquires.
Winny cheeks turn a soft pick color as she mumbles an almost inaudible "yes".
"Oh Win, we're so sorry. Cody's stupid and doesn't know what he's missing", Viviana joins in sympathetically.
"It's fine, really. And now, we're done talking about it so, Kelly, truth of dare?" Winny moves on.
"Um, truth", Kelly answers calmly but nervously.
"Alright, what's the craziest thing you've done without getting caught?" Winny probes.
"Well, last year, Kim and I were in one of our moods and were hating life so, we ended up grafting this old warehouse to release all our anger", Kelly replies.
"Nice girl!" Winny applauds, smiling proudly.
"Viviana, your up. Truth or dare?" Kelly asks.
"Oh, dare all the way", Viviana answers confidently.
"Ok, I dare you to eat the surprise concoction we make for you", Kelly tells her excitedly.
Viviana give Kelly a disgusted look and whines, "First off, gross. And secondly, bring it on".
Kelly, Reagan and Winny have this devious grin on their faces as the three quickly sprint out of the room. I giddily ran after them, wanting to join in on the fun as Viviana stayed in her room, not wanting to know what was happening in her kitchen. As the minutes slowly ticked by, laughing and screaming could be heard downstairs and Viviana was now starting to regret her decision. A little after the ten minute mark passed, the four girls reentered the room, smiles glued to their faces. "Ok Viv, are you ready?" Reagan questions with a smile.
"Um, after all I heard minutes ago? No, not really! But, it's not like I have a chose, so, let's just get his over with", Viviana replies with a sigh, extending her hand for the container of food.
"Here you go. Enjoy!" Kelly finishes, handing Viviana the bowl of food.
Instantly Viviana gags at the sight of food and cries out, "What the hell is this?" seeing a whole bunch of different foods in the bowl.
"Well, there's some cereal, leftover food from your refrigerator, chocolate syrup, ketchup, hot sauce, pickles, ice cream, potato chips, orange juice and I think some candy", Winny answers calmly.
"Are you trying to kill me?" Viviana groans as she stares at the food, poking at it and debating on where to even start.
"Maybe and any day now", Reagan pushes as she got the middle in return.
Viviana finally gets a spoonful of the disaster and puts it in her mouth, making a face and quickly chewing the food and swallowing. "So, how was it?" I ask half-jokingly and half curious.
Viviana thought for a second before replying and stating firmly, "Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought but I'm not eating all of it. I'll take a few more bites".
The four of us nod and shrug our shoulders, not really caring what Viviana decides as we were all just amazed that she actually ate it in the first place. After the two bites, Viviana runs back down the stairs with the food and then rushed back up to her room with this excited grin on her face. "So, Kim it's your turn. Truth or dare?" Viviana cheers, entering the room and breaking up our conversation.
"Uh, um, truth", I respond quietly.
"Ok, this is a two part question. Is that ok?" Viviana asks me.
"Yeah, it's fine", I nod, not wanting to be coward about this.
"Ok, have you ever had a boyfriend? And if you haven't what do you like for in a guy and what would be your prefect date?" Viviana wonders.
I feel my cheeks heat up and the room suddenly feeling like a sauna as I answer, "Is-isn't that like three questions? But I-I um, no, I've never had a boyfriend. But, my perfect guys would be someone I can talk to, someone who's compassionate and loves me; no matter how crazy me or my life gets. They have to be understanding, patient and most importantly, they have to be able to make me laugh. And for my perfect date, IF I ever get one, I really, really love the cliché love story date. A simple but romantic dinner, a walk on the beach and watching the sunset. I know it probably sounds stupid but I just want it to feel right and special", in a dreamlike voice, gazing at nothing in particular.
The room is silent as I look around to see glossy eyes staring back at me. "That sounds absolutely prefect", Winny gushes.
"Thank you, but like I said, it'll never happen. I mean, who would want to date a sick girl with no life. But hey, a girl can dream right?" I sigh, not knowing what my words actually mean.
And there you go folks. Please, R&R and let me know what you think.
Please, let's try to reach 100 before the next chapter.
Thanks and until next time,
Missy xx
