Chapter 10

When I saw him, I thought he was some sort of trick, but now with him on top of me, his lips against mine, I know he is real. He is so heavy, but I snap my free fingers and heat radiates from my body, burning his flesh. He yelps and jumps off of me. I jump up and go for my room. Knowing that I can set a charm around it, it is small enough for a strong one. I make it to my room but he is right on my heels. I shut my door on him, but it doesn't stop him. He opens the door and looks at me, with a hunger in his eyes again. I walk away from him, he is a different breed. A stronger one. I start to panic. He can sense it,

"Scared are we?" he says. I glare at him. Movement outside my window cause me to look, Stiles is walking up my driveway,

"Shit." I say. Tyler, frowns and looks out the window and laughs,

"Is that your boyfriend Aiden? Have we finally moved on from our dark days?" I run down the stairs, I place a quick charm around my room, and I alone can hear Tyler.I open the door just as Stiles is about to knock. He looks shocked to see me like this,

"Aiden? Is everything okay?" he looks inside. I quickly nod,

"Oh yes. Everything is fine." I can sense a tremble in my voice and I think Stiles can too, but he doesn't pursue.

"So, what time tonight?" he asks. I think,

"Ah, sixish maybe?" I say uncertain. It is around four o'clock now and I don't take a while to get ready, even with an unwanted guest. He nods,

"Sounds good. I'll be waiting outside your house," he says. I nod and am about to shut the door when he speaks again, "You're not going to it with anyone, are you?" he asks. I frown,

"No. I didn't think you had to go with someone." I say. He shakes his head quickly,

"You don't, but I was wondering if you, if you want. You don't have to, but maybe go with me?" I smirk,

"Already am, aren't I Stiles?" I say, teasingly. He frowns, thinking I don't get what he means, "Stiles, I'll go with you." I say. I give him a kiss on the cheek and shut the door, "See you at six." He waves bye. I turn to go upstairs, and see a shirtless Tyler standing on my stairs. I groan and stand there. He comes down and walks closer to me,

"What the hell do you want Tyler?" I ask. He comes close to me, very close. Inches from me. His dog breath is so powerful. He grazes his fingers up and down my arm, I grab it, but he yanks free of my grasp. He grabs my hands and pins them,

"Aiden, Adien," he says against my neck, "don't you know not to be rude to guests." His hand leaves mine and it travels down my body. I grasp it, pissed off and sick of him.

"I am going to ask one more time and if you don't answer, I am going to get every werewolf I know to come kick your sorry ass." I say. Starring at him. He backs away, but not far enough, just another inch.

"I came here," he says, "because I have been looking for you." I grimace at that. He chuckles,

"Aiden, you put me under your spell, fallen for you." I push him away, disgusted.

"Well, apparently, it doesn't go for two," I open my door, "get the hell out." I say. But he says put. He heads into my kitchen, I look out my door and see Scott walking up to Stiles' driveway. I quickly shut my door, but I know he senses that something is up. I lock it. Knowing I don't need them in here when I have some savage wolf in here. I make my way to the kitchen and see Tyler, sitting on my counter top eating a red apple. He takes a bite and studies me,

"You've changed." He says taking a bite out of my apple. I stay in the doorway,

"Good one genius. " I say a take a sip of my tea, and watch him from a far. He jumps off the counter,

"I mean, you as a person. Your looks, which were damn fine before are still appealing in a different way," he walks up closer to me, I back away. He still walks to me, "Your hair, it's more fair." He says, "your looks, they have relaxed." He steps closer, I duck out of the way. I look at my clock and see it reads five o'clock. I frown, last time I looked at it, it read four o'clock. I had an hour to get ready. Thankfully I just had to have a shower, I had to end this charade. I walk to Tyler,

"Leave! I have to get ready, now." I say with a final tone. He doesn't get it. He just laughs, "I said," I snap my fingers and a huge gust of wind picks up, "out!" he looks around. The wind is strong, but not as strong as I would wish it to be. He looks at me and shrugs. He turns to the door, and opens it. He is still shirtless,

"I'll leave," he says. He turns back to me, "but know, I am not leaving. Not for while yet. See you after the break." He smirks and waves goodbye. I clench my jaw, but run up the stairs and jump in the shower. I don't wash my hair, but I do blow dry it, knowing it will look good natural. I race to my closet at quarter to six and pull on my bandeau with burgundy wool knit sweater. I pull up my jeans and decide on boots in the snow. I race to my mirror and flip my hair to look neat and race down the stairs to the knock at the door. I open the door, out of breath. Stiles stares at me as I lock the door and say a charm. I turn and bump into him,

"Oh, sorry Stiles." He helps me up straight and shakes his head,

"Don't worry about it. You look amazing," he says awestruck. I blush and look at him, a plaid shirt and jeans. Typical Stiles,

"You look," I say, "dapper." He laughs as do I as we walk to the jeep. I get to sit shot gun finally, and see that we still have to pick up the others. I sit down and we start off, the road has gotten icy, but Stiles is good at maneuvering it. I hold on to the dashboard and he just smiles,

"What?" I ask. He shakes his head,

"You're just so…" he doesn't finish, or he does but I don't hear. WE pull up to Scott's but he is alone, not shocking but he looks grim. I let him get in the back, but the questions fly instantly,

"Where's Allison?" I ask. Scott shakes his head,

"Cancelled. Said she will meet us there," I frown and look back at him. He shrugs but turn to me,

"Did you have anyone over today?" he asks. I can feel all eyes on me and I am speechless. They know.

"Yeah, I did. He's no one of importance to me, dead to me." I say not trying to think too much. Scott still looks at me,

"Who was he?" asks Stiles. I roll my eyes at him,

"Of no importance, his name is Tyler." I say. Looking out the window, done with the conversation. I am surprised to see Lydia's house. It is lit up with festive lights. Stiles turn off the jeep and I jump out, letting Scott out. He books it inside, probably to find Allison. I wait for Stiles and we walk up. I see Lydia waiting in the doorway, she nods in approval.

"My, you look dashing," she says. Stiles frowns again, and heads inside. I stay with Lydia. She shakes her head,

"Go on, you don't need a wing man." She smiles as she welcomes people in.

"Lydia." She purses her lips at me, infuriated, "it's Tyler." She frowns,

"The one-"

"Yes. He came by today, a wolf." Her eyes bulge,

"You're lying." She says. I shake my head,

"Nope, so I you see a red haired guy, with an athletic build, send him away please." She looks back into the house,

"You mean, like him?" she points at some guys, surrounded by girls. Tyler has invaded the house. I nod at Lydia,

"Yeup, that's him. Oh," I say as I walk away, "stay away from him, stay with Jackson." She says duh and I walk to where Stiles and Scott are but not quick enough. Tyler sees me. I duck behind a keg and make a detour to Stiles. He follows my tracks and I lose him. For a moment. I see Stiles and go over,

"There you are." I say. He hands me a drink and I down it. HE looks shocked, but curious as usual, "Bad night." I say, drinking his. I don't dare look around. I stare at Stiles and Scott, who looks depressed.

"No Allison?" I ask Stiles.

"Nope, no sign of her yet." I shrug,

"She has to be here, Lydia will kill her if she isn't," Scott nods in agreement, but still looks depressed. I grab another drink and see his head shoot up. He looks behind me. I grab Stiles, knowing it is Tyler. There is music playing, and I pull him on the dance floor. He doesn't move, but I dance.

"Common! Dance with me," I plead. He gives me an exasperated look,

"Can't dance." I roll my eyes and grab his hands and place them on my hips. He looks like a little kid with kooties,

"now," I sway my hips, "move with my hips." He starts to dance and let loose. He starts to get into it, moving close to me. I nod in approval and move closer too. The music gets good, but then it changes, and Stiles groans while I smile and dance. Country music, I laugh as Long Hot Summer comes on. I start to mouth the lyrics and watch Stiles. I throw my hands in the sir, so happy. I haven't had this much fun in a while. When I grab Stiles' hand I pull to me and I hold his hand in the air. He shakes his head as I look at him, but he dances close to me.

I wrap my arms around him and close my eyes, dancing. I feel him out his hands on my hips and know he is finally comfortable. People start to join us and we have created a dance mob in Lydia's house. I don't care and keep dancing with Stiles. I open my eyes, and see him staring at me. I stare too, but I notice he isn't looking at me. I look behind me and jump away. Feet away is Tyler, he is making his way to me. I pull Stiles off the floor, and get more drinks. I zig zag through people, trying to lose my scent. I find Scott, and leave Stiles with him,

"I'll get some drinks." I say and head off in the opposite direction of Tyler. I grab three red cups and turn. I run into Tyler, and drop the cups,

"Dammit." I say as the beer drenches my pants. Tyler looks at me, with the same smile as last time. I back away, and duck under his reach and walk toward Stiles and Scott. I keep looking behind me, every second. I know he is there, trying to get to me. I make my way into the dance floor. I dance with a couple guys, I see Isaac and head to him, knowing he will sense it. He sees me coming and smiles. I don't. I start dancing with him. He has a smug look,

"So," he says grasping my hips, "what made you want to dance?" he asks. I snare my lip and nod backwards. He looks,

"Red-haired guy, staring at me?" he squints and nods, "Take in a deep breath." I say. He looks suspicious, " oh bother, if I wanted you dead, don't you think you would be?" he takes in a deep breath and I see his eyes change,

"Wolf." His says knowing,

"Oh, yes Lupine. Hate to break it to you, but he is really different from you guys." He shurgs,

"How?" he grasps my hips,

"More powerful, in every way." I say. I can sense him getting closer, "oh, and did I mention I know him." I say and walk away. I find Scott, but no Stiles. Scott jumps up, but looks around,

"Isn't he here?" I ask. He shakes his head,

"He saw you walk away and that," he points at Tyler, "follow you. You didn't see Allison by the drinks did you?" I shake my head,

"SO she's here?" he nods,

"She was." I go up to Scott and look around, but don't see her,

"She'll come back. You two are…" that's when I smell it. No new scent, but wood. Burning wood. I am instantly brought back to my home with loved ones dying, burning to death. All I hear in my ears are their screams. I have to get outside. I spot a patio and I pull Scott out. I see smoke in the distance. I open it up and Scott follows. Isaac is soon there too, I lock it before Tyler can come out. He give me a sad look, I finger him,

"Fuck off." I say. I turn to Isaac and Scott, both confused.

"Not story time little ones, but it is time to do something about," I point at the smoke, "that." I look in the snow and see footprints, many foot prints and one of someone being dragged. I swear,

"Look." I say. They both turn to the direction of the smoke, and I climb up on the railing, "boys," I jump off the railing and land perfectly on my feet, "time for a scavenger hunt."
