Chapter 10

Lucian sat Laura upfront on the half broken throne upfront and the lycans gathered around her. Lucian stayed behind her and said "You may begin Laurena, everyone is very interested in how you turned against the vampires and began to help our cause."

Laura saw all the lycans were focused on her she didn't know if it was because of Lucian being there or because they really did respect her. She wanted to believe the second reason. She took a deep breath and let out her pent up story she was just itching to tell anyone. Thank god it would be Lucian.

"I used to live a very normal life with my Mother staying at home guiding me to be the best lady I could, a very loving father that worked long hours supporting our family who would try to be with us when he could. I would play out in our fields with the other village children not knowing about or believing the tells beyond the hills of supernatural vampires and the giant wolves that roamed the land beyond. But one day my father told me to go hide out with the other village children the rulers that we paid taxes too was coming to collect. My mother told me no matter what I hear or if children start to run to their parents I will stay put and hidden," Laura saw Lucian hand on her shoulder looking worried and some of the lycans look down they knew what was happening, "So we all head in a cave under the bushes and he heard the rattling of carriages and the hooves of horses. We heard them yell out that we were short on our taxes and that without our help the wolves would attack."

One lycan in the back snorted and yelled "That's what they told us and the wolves did attack us and then the vampires killed the rest of us and sold the others as slaves!"

Laura nodded and contined "I tried my best to stay put I really did but then I heard my father yell out that they would not pay no more there would be no more gold or even silver to trade for food and crops to grow. I started to tear up just knowing that this would be my father's last moment. Then others started to yell out, our neighbors the Monroe's yelled out in agreement the most...then this moment will stay with me the longest...fire lighted up and I smelled smoke and then blood. Animals were screaming out and then the screams of human life. The village children all ran looking for their parents. I grabbed my friends hand and stopped her, but then I heard the most awful sound...my mother's screams. That did it for me, so I ran my friend behind me. Victor had my mother by her neck two other vampires had my father down. Victor said to my father making the remaining villagers watch 'This is what happens when you disobey your leaders and masters' Then...he bit her and I saw him drink her blood my father screamed and so did the villagers they all loved my mother. I screamed out and vampires turned to me and my father with his last breath asks me to run."

Laura had to stop for a moment because her voice was weak Lucian kissed me on the head and said "Laurena you don't have to continue I understand that this is a painful subject."

Lycans around them all murmured in agreement the lycans who had changed howled a mournful song.

Laura shook her head and squeezed Lucian hand and shook her head "No I need to get this off my chest and talk about it."

"I took my father's advice and bolted for it. I stopped...my friend had slapped a vampire away from her dying mother and father and then she was dead. I screamed and then Victor turned towards me and lifted me up and said 'Your parents are the cause of this they knew better then to defy us. No you will pay for them, you are now a slave to us and you will listen to your masters.' I was carried away and chained to the back of the wagon along with some of the remaining adults and women who would also be slaves. But I was the special one the one who got all of the vampire's attention and was beaten and neglected who got all of the hard chores. One day I slapped a vampire and they reported to Victor that I tried to kill them; I thought oh finally I can be reunited with my parents. Victor hung me up and started to drink me dry but Lady Sonja saved me and stopped Victor and said 'Father please don't kill her the vampire provoked her I saw it. Please Father she is my friend and a very good servant. I'll watch over her and make sure she listens.' So Victor speared me and Sonja taught me how to work and listen and even gave me educated lessons so I wouldn't be dumb like some of the servants. But everyday a vowed to get revenge on the vampires who took my parents and my life," Laura stopped and turned to Lucian and hugged him and said, "Thank you for saving me that day and teaching me to defend myself. You helped me get my revenge and are much more than a friend to me."

Lucian lifted Laura's head and kissed my head and cheeks and whispered in my hair "I will always be with you my Laurena. You will never have the slave's life again. You're my only reason for living right now; your mine and I always protect and take care of what is mine."

Laura nodded and sunk further into Lucian comforted by his words and his passiveness. Laura said "You promise to look for that cure so I can be a hybrid and walk in the sun again?"

Lucian looked at Laura and then the crowd of lycans "Yes I will find a way to make all of us invincible and take out all of the vampires."

A cheer rose out in the crowd also howls of approval. Laura said to Lucian and to herself "No matter how long it takes I will stay with you and help out your cause."

Lucian stood tall taking Laura with her, the lycans cheered out 'Lucian!'

Laura knew this would take a while but she would stay with Lucian as long as she shall live.

Sorry that it took so long to update I had a lot to think about and the direction I was heading in. Thank you for all of the reviews they really helped me out.
