Erin woke up the next morning and spent a good few minutes stretching her muscles, which to an outside viewer would have looked like something from the exorcist. Slowly she peeled the warm covers back and treading out into the kitchen, hissing as her bare feet made contact with the cool wooden floor. Through hazy eyes she grabbed the kettle and began humming AC/DC Thunderstruck as she began making her and

Sherlock's

morning tea.

Just as she was pouring the boiling water into the mugs she heard the kitchen door click and looked up to see Sherlock walk in, last night came rushing back to her, her cheeks flared up and an awkward atmosphere fell over the room. "Morning," she forced a smile.

"Morning," he replied with a forced smile on this side, awkwardly making his way over to sit at the table. Erin continued to make the tea in the silence, the high pitched ringing of the tea spoon against the up much too loud, causing Erin to swear in her head.

Erin slid Sherlock's mug over to him, "So" Sherlock talked first breaking the silence. "I'm not good at this but I think we should talk." he said thinking before each word. Erin took a deep breath, "Yeah, probably."

There was a pause before anyone said anything, "Well I looked up on the internet what people usually say in a situation, so I'll go first," Sherlock took a deep breath, " What did last night mean to you?"

Erin's lip turned up slightly at how formal Sherlock was being, "I don't know," she whispered. Sherlock rolled his eyes, "I thought you might say that," he said standing up and walking into the living room.

Erin furrowed her eyebrows and followed Sherlock, "What?" she asked confused. "Well, I wasn't sure either, so I decided to do something that I do know- figure out the facts." Erin watched as Sherlock grabbed lots of scraps of paper, string, and blue tac.

He turned to her, "Okay so," he swallowed before proceeding, "we kissed," he wrote it down on a piece of paper and stuck it to the wall, "Now what do we know? It was valentine's day, and you went on a date with Jeff," he listed writing down the information on pieces of paper sticking them to the wall and using string to connect certain pieces.

"However, that failed," he spun round to face her, "Why?" Erin felt herself blush, "Erm, we realised we would be better as friends" he voice wavered, not telling Sherlock the whole truth, "We, um, didn't click that way." Sherlock hummed in acknowledgment as he wrote it down and stuck it to the wall.

He grabbed another few scraps of paper and began writing down information on them and sticking them to the wall. Erin turned her head to look at what he had written seeing things written down such as 'X-men movie' 'eager' 'gratitude' 'basic human emotions:...' 'types of chemicals produced in the brain' and a bunch of other stuff that she couldn't see from where she was.

A few minutes later Sherlock stopped writing and stepped down next to her, staring a the wall. They were standing so close that their arms brushed and Erin felt an unusual warmth spread through her. "So, what can we deduce from the facts?"

Erin turned her head to look at him then back to the wall, "I don't know, you're the genius here." Sherlock smirked then stepped forward to analyse the information, Erin bit back a chuckle, this was an awful lot of work for just one kiss.

"Well, you had a failed date- on valentines day no less, so you were probably feeling disappointment and craving human contact. I had successfully solved a case, and genius minds need recognition. You finally saw a film you were dying to see, courtesy of me, so you probably felt happiness towards me. The chemicals produced with happiness and disappointment overlapping is often confused as attraction, so that's most likely why you kissed me. I most likely responded because the mind gets confused easily, it recognised the attention even if it wasn't for the same reason. Therefore, we can deduce that last nights kiss was a result of messed up emotions and was an accident and not something we should worry about," Sherlock explained at the speed of light, Erin almost couldn't keep up with him. Almost.

Erin felt disappointment, but pushed it back. "So, this wont be awkward anymore?" she questioned smiling, "No. I just told you that." Sherlock said in a tone that he really only used when talking to idiots. "I know, just making sure.," she replied.

They continued the day as they usually did, thankfully with no awkwardness. Of course, neither of them would admit it but they were both disappointed with the outcome of Sherlock's deduction, but didn't say anything fearing that it was what the other person wanted.

A/N- okay, really sorry that it's been more than a month again, but I've been off school for a week and a half now so hopefully I'll be able to catch up on the writing. I wrote this as quick as I could so it's a bit of a rushed job. I have a few ideas of what should happen to them now but if you could give me ideas now that would be great! Seriously, I planned out everything except what happened during the period after they first start to get together, so that kiss. I NEED IDEAS. Favourite, Follow and Review please, bye!
