"I don't want to lose you….I want to save you, but I fear I can do nothing….."
Those were the
words that left Ashton's lips, nearly two weeks ago. As the hours of the following days came and
went I felt disconnected to this place, like I was being forced to leave. As I was slowly fading into
a deep sleep, there was a knock on the door. "Abie?" I sit up frantically,
Ash…., the door opens
to reveal my love dressed in a prince's attire colored black and red. "Were you sleeping? I didnt
mean to wake you…." he slowly strides over to my bed and sits on the edge, " Ms. Noel is
preparing your medicine as we speak." I gaze lovingly into his piercing eyes. I feel a strange
sensation run over my body as he gently touches my cheek with his gloved hand.
"I love you…." I manage to mutter to him. He slips his index finger over my lips, silencing me.
"You need to conserve your energy. I don't want you to fate on us again…" he grins tenderly,
silently chuckling at his own joke, but his eyes show sadness. As Ashton slowly caresses my
lips, the strong force between us pulls her closer; our lips merely centimeters away, "My what a
gorgeous painting this would be." We were torn apart by that voice looking up we see Colt's red
eyes watching us. He clapped in a humorous manner, "Does this not seem familiar? It reminds
me of that one tale…." As Ashton and I look on Colt taps his chin. "Ah! Romeo and Juliet!
Forbidden lovers, believing its their fate only to both die in the end…" He chuckles in a nasty tone
as he turns and walks down the corridor.
"What's going on?" Ashton's blue orbs then turn to graze over my being. "There is a press
meeting today at noon. Colt told his mother of my proposal. She has accepted my marriage
proposal to you, but I have to alert the press about our marriage…" he gently rests his hand on
my blanket clad leg, "...it was the only way we could be together. She doesn't want to tarnish the
Charlen name by keep secrets from the empire." Ashton lets his hand gently graze back and
forth on my leg, the he slowly leans forward once more. "I want what's best for you, Abie..." I
lean in as well, those words soon forgotten as our lips touched. He's lips tasted sweet, so much
better than sugar, if that was possibly. My arms wrapped around him, I pull him toward the bed
with me; Ashton climbs onto my bed not wanting to disrupt the kiss. I felt his tongue beg for
entrance, I smile against his lips. He then thrusts his tongue into my mouth and for the first time I
felt a slight stinging sensation run over me.
What going on?
His hands rest by both sides of my head as we continued to perform the dance of loving kisses.
Ashton then left the bed heading towards the door, "Ashton..." my voice lonely and in despair, I
call out to him. He closes the door and returns to my side resting his hands on my cheeks. "I
love you." Ashton dives forward, toward me, our bodies begging each other for the other's
warmth.
Ashton took it upon himself to make preparations for our wedding, of course he left the flower
choices and my dress up to me, but he made sure that I didn't have to worry. The wedding was
planned for tomorrow afternoon, though I was nervous I felt relieved knowing I would marry my
love not Sir Tom La Flu. The day before, Ashton guided me to the large study in the mansion,
"Maybe we should chance up on some studies to relieve some stress…" I signed in agony,
annoyed that he would suggest schooling to a sick, stressed woman. Though I didn't feel like
digging my face in a textbook, he helped me catch up on my arithmetic, politics from my world,
and geography. As he was teaching me about the countries in Asia and surrounding islands
there was a knock on the large decaying door. Ashton and I both locked eyes, surprised and
suspicious. "Come in..," Ashton slowly hooked his pale fingers in the maps ring, letting it slide up
slowly as I put the quill back in the ink. The door opened slowly to reveal a young woman I've
never seen before. She was dressed in a floor length black lace dress, the corset tied loosely
around her midsection.
I wish my mother would have let me do that. "Sir Lanning, the final
preparations for the wedding are complete." she bowed her head in respect. I turned toward
Ashton who is smiling confidently. "Thank you, Babet for informing me…" he bowed to her also.
Though Babet had a stern expression on her face, her cheeks flushed a scarlet red. "Sir
Lanning, if I many I beg that you not address me, for I am not someone who deserves your
kindness." Ashton chuckles as he turns toward me, "I hope you won't mind, but I asked Babet to
be your bridesmaid at the wedding. Is that okay?" I nod my head in approval,
If Ashton trusts her
in such a high position then I should but my faith in his judgement
, turning the page in thick
covered notebook, picking up the quill that had sat in the ink.
Babet excused herself and Ashton approached my desk, bring something from my notes to my
attention. He was telling me to writing something on the previous page when i suddenly felt light
headed. "Abigail?" I heard Ashton' s strong voice whisper in my heart, but I couldn't respond to
him. Before I knew it I blackout once again….
"Yes I do…" those were the word that left my mouth. I wasn't in the study, I wasn't even in a
building, all I saw was a boy standing before me.
I feel like I've seen him before,
somewhere….Oh! He's that boy!
I looking into the his face though I couldn't see very well in the
dark. "Well come on I'll take you to him." He grabs my bike while I put on my backpack , "It's okay
I can take that.." I reach out for my bicycle, but he tightens his grip on the handle bars. "What
kind of boyfriend would I be if I let my girl carry her own bike?" I felt my face flush,
Boyfriend?! He
take the lead toward a old worn down warehouse. There was the faint sound of music, people
yelling, neon lights shone through the broken windows. "Abie, are you okay?" Now the light
attached to the building I looked at his face, "Ashton…?" He smiles warmly at me, "Starstruck as
always…" He knocks on the door. "Finally! What took you guys so long?"
