So, like promised, here's the next chapter. I will from now on update pretty much every twelve hours. 'Cause I have four years to make up for... Yay me.
Anyway, since nobody reads the author's notes, let's cut it short.
Remember the angst tag?
Brace yourself.
Il Maestro
Second Arc
II
"Reborn," an annoyed baritone sighed. "Close the blinds…"
A groan answered that plea and the man who had spoken turned over on the king size bed, to hide his face against a well-defined torso so he could avoid being blinded by the light illuminating the whole room.
"Come on," the man insisted with a muffled voice from his hiding spot against the other sleeper's torso.
Another groan followed in the bright and cosy room and the speaker moved his head away from his hiding place, so he could place his chin on Reborn's torso and look insistently at him.
"The blinds, Reborn," the man reminded him while tracing arabesques with his fingers on the young man's shivering skin.
The latter groaned one last time just so the other man could understand how annoyed it made him and left the warm bed to stomp his way to the windows and close angrily the blinds. Then, he turned around and folded his arms and sighed heavily through his nose.
The man on the bed looked at him with a small smile on his face and stretched happily and languidly on the silk sheets. Then, his tongue teasingly licking his pink lips and his hand patting invitingly the empty side of the bed, the man waited for Reborn. The dark haired man sighed another time and stayed put, ignoring the creeping cold and the fact that he only wore briefs that didn't even belong to him.
"Reborn," the other man called as he looked at him with wide eyes.
The latter shivered under the man's burning gaze and kept glaring at him with his dark and impenetrable eyes. The body laid on the silk sheet was languidly stretching now, revealing flashes of pale skin to the younger man.
"Come on, Reborn," the man slowly said with a heavier voice that sent another wave of shivers over Reborn's stomach. "I'm cold."
The young man raised his dark eyes to the sky and joined the man on the bed, hugging the latter's torso and sighing in happiness when he felt his warm and calloused hands hold his forearms.
"What will we do today?" Reborn asked in a soft voice, his nose never leaving the ruffled brown hair of his partner.
"Hmmm," the other muttered as he went back to tracing arabesques on the younger man's skin. "I heard that London was pretty at this time of the year…"
"We will check if you heard well," Reborn nodded as he closed his eyes to appreciate better the other man's caresses. "And after, what did you have planned, Tsuna?"
Tsuna shrugged and slightly turned his head around so he could kiss Reborn's shoulder.
"Let's see," he whispered as his fingers explored Reborn's skin. "Your apprenticeship finished months ago… Normally, that would have meant that we should on our own separate ways…" he stopped talking and kissed again the darker haired man's skin who had tightened his hold over his torso. "But we aren't normal at all, aren't we? So…"
"So," the younger man repeated as he kept his head over his former tutor's neck.
"What do you say of meeting the Vongola again? It has been years since the last time, right?"
"Mmm," Reborn sighed in happiness and assented. He rolled over and leaned on his elbows, so he could be above Tsuna. "London then the Vongola."
His lips softly skimmed over Tsuna's lips and the latter smiled while hugging the young man.
"In the meantime," Tsuna added once they stopped kissing, "It would be a waste to not visit Paris. It has been a week since we got here and we have only left this room twice! Once for a meal and the other for the mission!"
"Hm," Reborn muttered as he nosed his former tutor's mint smelling hair. "Later, I'm still recovering…"
Tsuna clicked his tongue in annoyance and harshly pushed away the blankets before he stalked to the wardrobe, taking some clothes that he threw on the bed, some of them hitting the other man's face. The latter narrowed his face and watched over the finely muscled body with delicate skin covered in love bites and ghastly scars.
"Get dressed," the current focus of Reborn's lustful thoughts ordered.
"Don't want to," Reborn retorted before he pulled the blanket over his face.
The blanket was promptly ripped from his hands and the young hitman met burning orange eyes. Tsuna was done with being gentle with him and joking around.
"That bullet didn't even scratch you," Tsuna whispered with a deadly voice. "I deflected just in time. So you will stop snivelling in your corner like the pathetic kid you are not and act like the man I know you are."
Reborn jumped from the bed to catch the other man's hands so he could force him to fall down on the bed mattress. Then, using the momentum of such a fall, the younger hitman crouched over his former tutor's body and looked at him with a dark face.
"I am no kid," he hissed while making sure Tsuna wouldn't be able to escape from his grasp.
Tsuna checked the hold over his wrists and slowly relaxed. He knew his student and thus knew that once Reborn had his prey between his hands, he never let it go.
"You are acting like one," the brown haired man retorted while narrowing his orange eyes.
"In that case, excuse me from panicking when I realized that you were going to take a bullet to the head just so you could save me!" Reborn screamed before he closed his eyes so he didn't have to see his lover's shocked expression. "You took that bullet barehanded, why didn't you think it over?! You could have died!"
"Reborn."
Tsuna's incredibly soft voice made him shake away his dark thoughts and he looked with surprise at the brunet's loving smile directed at him.
"Reborn," the latter repeated. "I'm not immortal. Even more with the work we do."
The younger man shuddered, and he let go of Tsuna's wrists. Tsuna didn't move and kept gazing intently at his former student who was now getting his hardest lesson.
"When you belong to the Mafia," Tsuna added with his softest voice without moving an inch away from him. "When you are a hitman, death is a part of your everyday life. You must be ready to die at any given moment."
Reborn closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Then, when he opened them, he got out of bed and went to put clothes on his back while his former tutor looked at him with a puzzling face. Tsuna got out of the bed silently and approached Reborn, taking hold of the ruffled tie around the younger man's neck.
"What did I tell you, years ago?" Tsuna whispered as he expertly tied the tie, his eyes never leaving the black silk.
"Always be classy," Reborn answered back as he rolled his eyes. "Even if I don't understand why you love that rule so much…"
Tsuna's hands tightened their hold on the tie and a strangled laugh echoed in the warm and cosy Parisian room.
"It's just," the Japanese said after a long silence. His eyes hadn't left the perfectly tied knot over Reborn's neck. "It was one of the last lessons my tutor gave me."
Reborn jumped, his curiosity suddenly buzzing. This was the first time Tsuna had ever spoken about his past.
Normally, he just taught him tons of tricks he knew and only ever told him by enigmatic phrases how he'd ever learned about it. However, he'd never mentioned anyone's name, as if saying so would have hurt him more than anything in the world could.
"Your tutor?" the younger man asked with wide eyes and a keen look. "How was it? they must be very talented!"
"The best in the world," Tsuna whispered.
He turned away from Reborn and walked to the bedside table. He opened the drawer and took out of it a silver revolver with beautiful gravings on the cross. The other hitman widened his eyes when he noticed that it was the same weapon he'd once found in Tsuna's satchel back when he had been a child.
"He gave it to me one day before his death," Tsuna explained with a toneless voice. "He'd told me before that it was his most cherished possession and that he held it more precious than his own life."
The brunet sighed and put the revolver back in the bedside drawer. Reborn furrowed his brows as he watched his former tutor. Tsuna had never used that revolver, even when he had taught him how to shoot, showing to his student how talented he was at sniping, he'd never ever used it nor gotten the revolver out of his bag.
"How was he?" Reborn asked while holding softly Tsuna's arm.
The latter got startled, as if he'd been deep in his thoughts, and turned his amber eyes toward him. A thin smile slowly appeared on his lips and Tsuna finally answered him.
"A true demon straight from hell, if you think I was horrible to you, that's because you never knew him. He even forced me to declare my feelings to the girl I liked, only wearing briefs!"
A mocking smirk on his lips, Reborn leaned against the window sill and let the sun rays warm his back while he looked with amusement at his lover.
"Sounds a bit like my own declaration of love…" he commented idly.
Tsuna turned around and winked at him.
"You would never have dared to tell me your feelings without help," he retorted with a playful light in his eyes. "Don't tell me you regret it…"
"I regret nothing," Reborn sighed as he played absentmindedly with one of his sideburns. "But I'd have preferred if you had been the one to confess."
"So I could end up in front of your superior air and smirk?" Tsuna cackled and shook his head. "No, thanks!"
The other man smiled with a cunning face and hugged the brunet's naked torso.
"How about continuing this conversation in bed?" he whispered to his ear.
Tsuna laughed happily and leaned over the bed to take his shirt. He put it on with a gracious move and nonchalantly walked to the wardrobe to fetch a trouser. He then went over the bedroom door and winked at the other man.
"Are you coming, Reborn?"
The younger man slowly nodded and quickly tied the holster holding his favourite gun under his left arm. Then, he fastened his steps and joined his lover.
"Ready whenever you are, Tsuna."

Next chapter will be up in twelve hours. Also, angst will be there too. Nonsense too.
