Okay, I had something completely different planned for this chapter/one-shot. However, I've been holding onto this idea for a while now and I needed to wait until after finishing HeartFrost to write it. There are extreme meta moments and minor breakage of the fourth wall in this one, but I just couldn't ignore such a lovely idea. Anyone who saw, firsthand or secondhand, what happened at this year's Comic-Con will understand. Sadly, I was not there in person so excuse the mistakes (or point them out, which is always helpful). Enjoy!

*Partially inspired by nooby-banana's "Loki & the Loon" comics*

Freyja stood amidst the shadows at the back of an exhibit hall of a convention, waiting patiently as a man named Chris Harmwick spoke to the crowd. Beside her, a man in a plain black suit and white shirt followed her gaze. His usually blonde hair was a dark brown and pulled back away from his face. Blue eyes twinkled mischievously as his lips curled up in a grin.

"And none of these people can see us?" he asked suddenly, British accent not far off from the Asgardian.

She shook her head, "That would be the beauty of magic, Tom."

"Do you think he'll stick to the script? He didn't seem overly fond of it when he read it."

"Loki can be a bit reclusive at times. He was rather looking forward to meeting the man who portrayed him surprisingly well. In fact, he informed me that the script was very much similar to what he would say."

"Did he?"

"Yes. He's actually quite fond of you, which is a miracle in and of itself."

"Almost time," the actor noted as a man named Kevin Feige, according to Harmwick.

He and Freyja watched in silence as the two on stage exchanged pleasantries, both waiting for the proper moment.

"We're in post-production of a movie called Thor: The Dark World, now-"

"There's you cue," he breathed, grin widening.

As the group in the hall cheered, Freyja silenced the microphone's with a quick incantation. A look of confusion crossed Feige's face as he tapped his microphone. Another simple spell and the lights went out, causing the crowd to fall into a hushed murmur of confusion. Over the sound of the surprised fans, a single voice rang out.

"Humanity…look how far you've fallen."

There was the sound of a few screams as the voice continued.

"Lining up in the sweltering heat for hours, huddling together in the dark – like beasts!"

The sound of thunder and the lights flickering on and off in rapid successions was a simple feat for Freyja, but she could hear the wonder from the humans around her. Tom chuckled softly beside her as the lights finally returned completely to reveal Loki on stage. He wore the costume Tom and the managers of Marvel Studios had provided for the occasion, raising his arms as if to embrace the screaming crowds.

"It is a very good thing you and Loki are roughly the same height and build," she muttered to her companion as Loki pointed at the crowd before smirking.

The sound of people chanting his name caused Freyja to raise her eyebrows in surprise. Loki met her eyes across the stadium, a silent acknowledgment in his green eyes. Slowly, he raised his index finger to his lips and the hall went silent.

"Well, isn't that a miracle…"

Freyja turned to Tom, "I'm sorry?"

"Is he using a spell to keep the fans silent?"

She shook her head, "It seems they're simply willing to obey. Let's hope this doesn't go to his head."

Up on the stage, Loki continued, "I am Loki. Of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose."

He grinned once more as his announcement was met with cheers. His attention turned to the two men at his right and he stalked towards them slowly. He raised an accusing finger at them.

"Stand back, you mewling quim."

Tom frowned beside Freyja, "I didn't write that…"

Loki chuckled as they walked quickly off the stage and he quickly returned his attention to the crowds. Screams and cries punctuated every pause he took, but went silent as soon as he opened his mouth.

"The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for a place in this chamber. In this…meager palace of Midgard. The arena they call 'Hall H'. You should have let me rule you while you had the chance. Yet here you are!"

More cheering followed and Loki quickly pointed out one of the fans, shushing them and pointing once again.

"Kneel!"

Laughter echoed through the crowds and Freyja could see Loki was desperately suppressing a smile. Loki began to pace back and forth, not quite looking at anything as he continued.

"Your ears yearn for untold stories, your eyes crave unseen sights, your imaginations ache and hunger." –Loki froze in place, turning to face the crowds once more- "Where are your Avengers now?"

Screams met his question and Loki smiled once more, raising his arms in a gesture that clearly said I told you so.

"Where are they?" he asked softly, shaking his head as if in disdain.

"Claim loyalty to me," he said, placing his hands over his heart. "And I will give you what you need.

He raised a hand for silence before pointing out toward the crowd, "Say my name."

"Loki!" the crowds screamed.

He raised his hand and gestured for more, "Say my name."

"Loki!"

"Say my name!"

"Loki!"

"SAY MY NAME!" he yelled, throwing back his head.

"LOKI!"

Freyja and Tom leaned against the wall, laughing silently and trying not to fall over. On stage, Loki chuckled in surprise.

"Well…It seems I have an army. Mortals, feast your eyes!" he announced, gesturing towards the screen on the wall before walking off stage.

He quickly appeared beside Freyja and Tom, smiling triumphantly. He had returned to his usual suit and green scarf with his hair now pulled up in something that vaguely resembled a ponytail, holding out the now folded costume to the actor.

"That was fun," he said as Tom reclaimed the clothes. "Send my regards to the Studios and Hemsworth."

Tom nodded, "Glad you enjoyed yourself. Come visit whenever you please."

The two immortals nodded and said their farewells before walking out. Loki wrapped an arm around Freyja shoulders and kissed her cheek.

"How long do you think we have before the Avengers find out?" she asked, smiling at his happiness.

He shrugged, "What can they do? As far as the mortals know, it was Tom Hiddleston on that stage. Who knew mortals could be so compliant?"

"Don't get any ideas," she said in mock accusation. "You have a different Realm to help rule over."

"What say we enjoy what this city has to offer us?" he suggested as they walked out into the sunlight.

"I'd say it sounds lovely," she replied.

That night, when they returned to Tony's house in Malibu, Freyja and Loki found the whole of the Avengers and Nick Fury waiting for them. All of them shared the same look of disapproval and impatience. Except for Tony himself who, Freyja had no doubt, was grinning under the mask. After all, he was the one to introduce them to the actors.
