Christmas

Chapter 10

Rewritten and posted on December 8, 2013. I honestly don't even know what to say anymore, I'm just glad that I'm almost done with rewriting this story. At least the ones after this one are somewhat better. There are still going to be changes though. Christmas break for me is coming soon, so I'll be able to update more. I hope you all like this one more. Read and Review :)

The rumors spread like wildfire. Again. I thought they were done and over with the first time around. How wrong I was. The meeting that Harry and I had with Dumbledore was fine though. He seemed to be the only one who didn't think that Harry and I were the culprits, well other than Hagrid of course, who came bustling in through the door as we sat before the headmaster. I was thankful for that. We could always trust Hagrid.

On the flip side, Fred and George were starting to get under my skin. I knew they meant well at heart, but the Heir of Slytherin jokes were pissing me off.

"Can you two stop?" I shouted at the twins. "I've had enough!"

"Haylee, we were just joking around. Surely you must know this," Fred smiled. "You do know this right?"

"I do, but if you haven't noticed the other students around here are freaking the hell out around Harry and me. I would really appreciate it if you would stop. I'm this close to pounding your heads in," I told them.

"Like you would do such a thing," they both grinned from ear to ear. "You love us too much to do such a thing."

"At this moment I don't," I packed up my bag from the table in the common room. "I have to meet up with the others."

"Of course you do," they chorused.

"Merlin, help me," I commented as I walked through the corridor which was empty due to most of the students leaving the castle for the holiday. Lucky them. Turning the corner, I saw the Out of Order sign hanging lope-sided on the bathroom door, pushed it open and entered the room. "Are we ready yet? I have things to do over this holiday."

"What do you mean? Don't you want to unmask Malfoy's scheme?" Ron asked, leaning against the sink. "I think you would be one of the happiest people to do this."

"Whatever," I dropped my back with a loud thud. "What are we waiting for?"

"We were just waiting for you," Hermione answered, scooping out the potion into three glasses. I was so happy this I didn't have to drink that. It looked revolting. "Add the hairs."

"Remind me again why you lucked out and didn't have to drink this?" Ron took a whiff of the drink, scowling at the chunky liquid. "Ugh, essence of Crabbe."

"I don't envy you at all," I snickered. "And you know why I don't have to."

"You are so lucky," Harry said silently. "Are we ready?"

"Bottoms up," Hermione clinked her glass with the others before taking a large gulp. "I think I'm going to be sick." The glass fell to the floor, breaking once it met the floor. The bathroom stall slamming closed behind her.

"Me too," Ron followed her lead. Harry, however, continued drinking. I always knew he didn't have taste buds.

Right before my eyes, I watched as Harry began to morph into the Slytherin student. I couldn't believe it. My eyes widened as Ron opened the stall door and approached us.

"Harry?" Ron asked.

"Ron?"

"That potion is amazing," I walked over to Harry and poked him in the face. "Holy- where's Hermione?"

"Just go without me," she hollered from the toilet. "I-I can't go with you."

"Hermione, are you all right?" Harry asked.

"I'm fine, just go. You're wasting time!" Came her reply.

"All right you two, let's do this," I felt my body begin to change.

Finding the Slytherin Common Room was much harder than we had realized. It felt like we had been roaming around in circles, and I thought we were never going to find it. Especially after Percy appeared out of nowhere and scared the crap out of me.

"What are your names again?" he asked Harry and Ron.

"Oh well-um-"

"Crabbe! Goyle! Where have you two been? Been pigging out in the Great Hall all this time?" I never thought I would ever say this, but thank Merlin Malfoy showed up when he did. "What are you doing here, Weasley?"

"Mind your attitude, Malfoy," Percy sneered. "Get back to your common room before I take points, and take this feline with you." I couldn't help but hiss at him.

"Why he's a Prefect is beyond me," Malfoy muttered. "Why are you wearing glasses?" Malfoy turned to Harry.

"Um-reading," he answered.

"Reading? I didn't know you could read," he made a face before heading back down the hallway. "Are you two coming or what?" With a look at one another, Ron and Harry followed him. I then followed closely behind not wanting to get lost.

I had heard many stories about the common room I had just stepped into after Malfoy recited the password. I was told that it was one of the coldest places in the castle since it was below the lake. That was true, it wasn't as warm and homey as the Gryffindor Common Room, but it was pretty nice. Dark, leather couches and chairs, and a rather large fireplace illuminating the area in a green glow, the creatures from the lake swimming passed the students doing work at one of the tables.

"Well sit down," I turned to see Harry and Ron standing awkwardly in front of the blond who collapsed onto one of the couches. The duo followed orders and sat side by side on the opposite couch. "One wouldn't think the Weasley's were Purebloods, the way they behave. They're an embarrassment to the Wizarding World. The entire lot of them," Ron jumped forward slightly, I couldn't complain though. I would be pissed too. "What's wrong with you?"

"I have a stomach ache," Ron answered.

"It's probably from all that sweets you eat every day in the Great Hall. You might want to watch out. You might start to get fatter than you already are," Ouch. He was just putting out all the punches wasn't he? But he wasn't wrong? Crabbe was a big fellow. "I have to say though, these rumors about the Potter twins are making me laugh. Everyone is so scared of them. I can't believe that they think they are heirs. Like they could actually open the Chamber of Secrets; what a laugh."

"You must know whose behind all the attacks then," Harry spoke.

"How many times do I need to tell you Goyle? I told you this yesterday," Malfoy responded. "I have no idea who the heir is, but I would love to help them," That made my ears perk up. He wanted to help them? Why? "I asked my father about the Chamber and he didn't say much. The only thing he did say was that the last time it was opened a Mudblood died, so it's only a matter of time before one dies this time. As for me, I hope it's Granger."

That was the final straw. I jumped up onto the table, swatting my claws at the blond asshole, hoping to draw blood. He promised! He promised he wouldn't call her that again. I should have known that it was all a lie.

"Crabbe, Goyle, calm the filthy animal!" he shouted, noticing the two getting to their feet and running for the door. "Hey! Where are you two going?"

The potion must have worn off. Had we really been there for an hour already? With one last smack which caused some blood to drip down Malfoy's cheek, I followed them back to the bathroom.

"Hermione! Hermione! We have so much to tell you!" I came back in to find Harry and Ron back to normal. "Where are you?"

"Remember how I said that the Polyjuice Potion only worked with human hair? Well, it wasn't Millicent's hair I pulled from her robes. It was cat hair. Look at my face," Hermione slowly came into the light, her face all fuzzy, looking like the biggest cat I had ever seen.

"Look at your tail," Ron joked. I smacked him on the shoulder. Much harder than I originally wanted because I was still mad. When I saw the blond, he was going down.

"Haylee, why are you so mad?" she asked. "Did Malfoy say something?"

"I'll let Harry and Ron tell you when you go to the Hospital Wing. I need to vent," I grabbed my bag and hurried out the lavatory.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who needed to vent. I could hear the asshole a long way away. Oh, he was going to get it now.

"MALFOY!" I shouted. It was times like these where I was glad that no one was around. I would have caused a stir.

"What the hell do you want?" Good, he was pissed almost as much as I was.

"I have a bone to pick with you," I approached him, a long cut running along the left side of his cheek. I got him good. "You said you would never call Hermione that word again, but you did!"

"How do you know that?" His eyes grew wide. Shit, I didn't think about that.

"I just do!" I hollered. "I should have known better. I knew you were nothing but a cold-hearted bully. You're nothing like your no-good father. To think I actually thought you were different." I couldn't even face him. All of the hatred was boiling over. I had to get out of here before I did something that could get me into a lot of trouble.

"Haylee, wait." I didn't stop. "Haylee!"

"Don't do it," I whispered. "Don't let him draw you in."
