Waking up the next morning to a chirp on her phone, Lindsey completely ignored it. She felt two arms wrapped firmly around her waist and then she remembered the previous night's activities. Feeling the breath on her skin, she let out a small sleepy giggle.

"Morning." Freddie whispered, pulling her closer to him.

"Morning." Lindsey replied quietly, turning around so she was facing him.

"After everything we said last night, does this mean we're, you know?"

"Together?" She finished the sentence.

"That's the one."

"I'm all for it if you are?"

"Linds, you know how I've been feeling about you. But what about Joe? Mum? All that stuff?"

"Who cares? We can do what we like, when we like and your brother is not going to stop that, alright?" She smiled as he nodded, placing a gentle kiss onto his lips.

Just as she did so, her phone rang for what was probably a 5th time that morning. Lindsey sighed and reluctantly pulled away from Freddie.

"I better get that." She said, leaning over to her bedside table and sitting up as she saw the text.

'Joe's been arrested, I think you're the only one he'll listen to. Get down the station when you can – S x'

"Joe's been arrested, your mum wants me down there." She said, pulling her hair into a messy bun as she got ready.

"Is he alright?" Freddie asked, getting up and ready.

"I think so, we just need to go." She grabbed her leather jacket and chucked Freddie's his before shoving on her pumps and picking up her bag before the pair headed downstairs. Just as the pair opened the door, Lindsey's mum, dad and sister arrived home.

"Morning you! Hang on, what's he doing here?" Helen asked, pointing at Freddie.

"Oh, um. He stayed over last night because I didn't want to be alone in the house." She lied.

"Or you're cheating on Joe." A moody, teenage Kim said, walking into the house with her phone stuck to her hand.

"Shut up, Kim." Lindsey growled, hitting her sisters arm. "I've gotta go, somewhere important. Speak later." She added, grabbing Freddie's hand and quickly running out of the house.

"Come on, you've gotta let him go! He hasn't done anything." Sandy proclaimed, sighing deeply.

"Mum, how long are we going to be here? I'm bored." Robbie said, swinging his legs back and forth on the chair.

"Be quiet." Jason whispered, nudging his twin.

"I'm here, what happened? Is he alright?" Lindsey said in a panic, rushing into the police station.

"Mum, what's wrong? What's he done?" Freddie asked, standing beside Lindsey.

"Where the hell 'ave you been? Why didn't you come home last night?" Sandy shouted.

"Calm down, mum. You're going to upset the boys." Ziggy butted in quietly.

"Sorry. Joe was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. Got all rowdy in town last night, ended up in a fight with a club bouncer and then with a passer-by. They won't let him go!"

"Just calm down, Sand. They're going to want to just question him and then he'll be out, I'm sure."

Sandy sighed and sat back down, picking up Jason and sitting him on her lap and pulling Robbie up close to her. Ziggy glanced at Freddie and Lindsey before wrapping his arm round his mum.

"Look, why don't me and Linds go back to the house? I can make us all some dinner and we can go back until he gets released?"

"But I want to stay here. My sons in a police cell."

"No, I think it's a lovely idea, thanks Fred. Come on mum, we can't stay here forever." Ziggy said, looking at Sandy who nodded reluctantly.

Freddie nodded at Ziggy as he discreetly took Lindsey's hand, leaving the police station.

Later on as night fell, the family excluding Joe and the twins were all sat in the living room, awaiting news on him. Lindsey was sat beside Freddie, discreetly holding hands and Sandy and Ziggy were sat beside each other as he tried to reassure her. As the front door creaked, Sandy jumped up as did everyone else just as Joe stepped into the living room, messy hair and blood stained tshirt.

"I got let out on bail." Joe said, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Oh son, I'm so happy." Sandy exclaimed, hugging Joe gently.

"What's she doing here?" He replied angrily, looking at Lindsey.

"She's here because she was worried about you and wanted to check you were okay, don't be so mean." Freddie voiced angrily.

"It's fine Fred. I just wanted to make sure you were okay and that you got out but I'll go." Lindsey said sternly, about to leave but Freddie tightened his grip on her hand.

"Me and Linds will clear up, stay out of your way." He looked at Lindsey, widening his eyes to gesture to her before they both picked up the plates from the table and took them into the kitchen.

"I think I better go. Joe doesn't want me here." Lindsey spoke, placing a plate into the sink.

"What are we gonna do about this? About us?"

"I think we should keep it between us, keep a low profile until things get sorted between me and Joe." She whispered, glancing around.

"I agree. If you want to get off, I'll text you tomorrow? We can go grab a coffee?"

"Sure, I'd like that. I'm gonna get going before Joe goes insane from my presence." Lindsey joked chuckling, leaning up as she pulled Freddie down into a gentle kiss, immediately pulling away as Sandy stepped into the kitchen.

"Everything okay over here?" Sandy asked, raising an eyebrow at the pair.

"Yeah, um, I was just about to go. I'll see you soon." Lindsey smiled awkwardly at Sandy before quickly walking into the hallway and putting her converse and jacket on.

"I'll let her out." Freddie then said, shoving his hands into his pockets as he followed Lindsey. "See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow." She responded, holding his hand tightly before letting go as she left the house.
