Samuels and her wife were waiting. They were at one of the smaller docks waiting for their daughter's arrival wondering about the turn of events. Neither of them had expected the sudden change in plans, so when they'd received the same message they'd both become extremely suspicious.

Samuels had had to excuse herself from the Councillors side, while her wife, Leta, had cut short her shift at the hospital. They'd called each other immediately to confirm the message on their Omni-tools wasn't spam, so when they had they each made their way to the docks to await her arrival.

Leta had been especially worried, since had their daughter had grown up on an Asari colony, she wouldn't have gone off planet till she was fifty, at least, but with her human lieage she seemed much more independent and mature than other Asari her age. The human parenting had also affected the way she thought of and behaved around others, often referring to Asari even older than her as immature and naive.

The Lieutenant was mostly curious as to why their daughter had spent so little time away, when she had told them it would be much longer. She was also concerned with the travel arrangements and why she wasn't on one of the scheduled ships. It didn't worry her as much but Samuels knew Leta was never going to let her leave the Citadel again.

By the time I'd stopped mildly smoking, the Normandy was beginning to dock and Jane had calmed down... a bit. We had all managed to change out of our sopping wet clothes with only a few mild cases of electrocution before someone switched off the sprinkler. After all the drama Jane still just wanted to see Anderson and go ask the council for some help and didn't really relish the prospect of me wondering round.

We stood in the airlock waiting for it to seal in complete silence. I don't think Jane had forgiven me at that moment in time. She was taking Mordin and Garrus along with her to help with c-sec for when they inevitably asked questions about the fact I had no records and she was dead. Me and Nix were stood at the back contemplating how much of my powers I should display and the reunion with her parents.

When the airlock door finally opened a turian stood there looking through a list on his Omni-tool before looking up. I could definitely tell he had never seen such a weird group of people, and I think most people could not boast they had seen any weirder.

"Anyone with a permanent residence on the Citadel can get a quick scan otherwise you're going to have to report to a full checkpoint." He quickly stated, getting on with his usual introduction. Nix slid down the side of the airlock to get the scan, while Jane began to reply that none of them had residence. Instead she just asked for directions and we all got in a hover car, bar Nix who I saw walk past him to her parents.

We landed a few minutes later and we all got out and began to approach the entrance. Before we got past the desk though, Jane stopped and turned to look at a large light up tube with a woman's face on. They talked for a few minutes about her joining us and then about a heist. To be honest I wasn't paying much attention, I was much more interested in the flying jellyfish.

Shepard told me about the Hanar but they were by far the strangest thing I had seen so far and she forgot to tell me they floated. I was staring at them for the entire conversation, trying to work out how they did it. By the time they had finished up I had moved to the desk and was standing behind one basically waving my hand underneath it's body.

"Cole." They were standing right behind me with varying expressions of amusement... I think, keep in might they were both aliens. "They use small anti-grav packs." Jane explained before turning to entrance to the scanner and went through. I quickly withdrew my hand and followed, just as the Hanar began to turn.

A Turian in the booth scanned all of us in turn starting with Shepard who came up as dead but he just thought it was a malfunction. It past over Garrus and Mordin fine; the problems only started when it got to me. The blue lights turned red, the doors quickly shut and locked and the Turian drew his gun and pointed it directly at me. Jane went for her gun but it wasn't there while Garrus grabbed her by the shoulder and gently moved her and Mordin to side.

"Hey what's going on in there?" the Turian's terminal lit up as the commanding officer outside talked to his subordinate. He quickly looked down to actually see what it picked up while I slowly raised my hands at Jane's silent request. The guard continued to look between me and the terminal, probably trying to determine whether or not it had broken. The door opened behind him and three fully armoured c-sec offices where revealed all pointing M8 Avengers at me.

They all stood there for a minute waiting for confirmation that the scanner was right, while I tried to convey with subtle hand gestures the dangers of letting them try to put me in cuffs, that is extremely hard. When I began to think they were waiting for divine intervention, a grizzled human pushed between them to face me.

"Well the computer tells me you must be a Geth, cause it looks like your body has enough electricity in it to power ten of the bastards... so are you going to explain?" I could tell Jane was going to intervene, but I knew I was the one who had to explain.

"First, how about you all stop pointing your guns at me, you can see I'm not a Geth and, well I really don't want to fight." After a second the human motioned for them to lower their weapon. They did, but they kept pointing them at my legs so I was still wary when I dropped my hands. "Ok, second, the reason I have electricity coursing through my body is that... er, well..."

"Genetic modification. Yes, come to study." Mordin interrupted. "Subject is harmless. Would like to get to lab."

"And who are you?"

"Dr. Mordin Solus. Former STG." The rest of us stood there silently, hoping the c-sec officer would accept Mordin's excuses. "Need him for experiment. Can get permission." They looked at him for a second before there commander pinched the bridge of his nose and looked between our party in turn.

"Ok, if you can get one of my higher ups to specifically tell me to let you through within the next minute I'll let him go with you." Mordin quickly activated his Omni-tool and was trying to contact someone before I'd even looked round for his response. I was wondering whether all Salarians were that fast or if Mordin was just that good.

"Councillor Valern, hello. Need a favour. Have subject, cannot get through C-sec."

"OK Mordin which officer do you need me to talk to." The group looked up from the Omni-tool to the officer in unison while Mordin motioned that it was his time to speak.

"Your speaking to Captain Bailey, ma'am."

"Well then Captain Bailey, please allow Mordin and his subject through the checkpoint."

"Um, ok, yes ma'am." With a beep the Councillor ended the call leavening us in silence, as the C-sec officers stood bewildered at the turn of events. "Well you and your subject can go but I still need to see Shepard at my desk." and with that the armed guards left and Jane got a free pass.

After getting the quick scan from the Turian Nix tried to casually walk towards her waiting parents, but most people would have been able to tell she was nervous about the meeting. Leta enveloped Nix in a bear hug as soon as she got close enough, leaving Nix's father to wrap her arms around both of them with a small chuckle.

"Mum, you can let go now...Mum?"

"Only after you promise to tell me everything that happened." With that Samuels let go of the two Asari with a quick kiss to each of their foreheads.

"Muuuuum." It always through Leta slightly when her daughter elongated syllables, as none of her other daughters did that growing up, but her wife had told her it was common in human children. "You know my friends would kill me if I told you everything." Leta relented and ended the hug, but kept her hands firmly on her upper arms holding her still.

"How about we talk about this during the trip back?" Samuels interjected before the two Asari could really start catching up.

Author's Note

Sorry about the long delay I am currently in the middle of some important exams so I can't really dedicate too much time to it.

Guest: Thank you and I have to say you have good taste.

Nitpick: In ME3 Tali gives you the arc pistol on the Geth dreadnought and it works the same as a normal pistol so I have to assume they have some ability to stop electrical strikes as the arc pistol doesn't bypass shields.

Have a Little Faith: Thanks for the reviews. i should have fixed your grievance and nice idea about the relays.

Dur'id the Druid: I PMed you to try to defend it so I don't have to reply here.

NisPi: you said you stopped reading once so you might be reading now your concerns about age are justified and I will explain some things in the next chapter.

Rebmul: Thank you and yes to both points I just prefer that pair for some reason.

douchiesnacks: That's what I was going for.

six samurai of dragon order: Thanks
