Hey guys, I am dying since school is almost over but I am still working myself to the bone :( I wanted to update faster but with how busy I have been lately, that might not be a possibility, but I will be free during the summer. I'm sorry this chapter has been shorter than usual, I have writer's block, but I hope you still enjoy it. Chapter ten...START-O!

Kasamatsu was confused. There sat Kyou, sipping her green tea latte silently as she watched him with false interest. Kasamatsu didn't know what had happened to her, but something was different. She seemed more confused than he was, and she was easily distracted. Even in the middle of their conversation, he could find her eyes wandering off and a far off look appeared in her blue orbs.

Throughout the week, she had been distracted. She being so absent minded that she would bump her head on a numerous amount of inanimate objects, attempt to eat her sandwich with the plastic wrapper still on, put pepper instead of sugar inside of her coffee and many more surprisingly ditzy things. But luckily for her, Kasamatsu was watching her like a hawk, catching her before she put herself in any danger.

He had questioned her if something was wrong, she only replied that she was fine, nothing more, nothing less. She wouldn't give out any details and he understood that she needed time to pull herself together, but he was growing rather impatient. Did something happen to her? Was she hurt? Did Kise do something to hurt her again? If something did happen to her, he expected her to be more...depressed and in pain, not confused.

Kyou smiled, trying to show that she okay. But with his years of knowing her, Kasamatsu knew that her perfect little smile was obviously forced. The more that Kyou didn't want you to know about something, the more she smiles to hide it.

Kasamatsu gave her a concerned gaze. "Are you really sure that you're okay? You can tell me if something was bothering you Kyou."

"I'm alright...really, there's no need for you to worry for me so much senpai."

Kyou stared out of the restaurant window, eyes watching people come and go as they pass by. She really didn't want to think about it, but her mind unconsciously replayed Kise's confession repeatedly in her mind. She just couldn't stop thinking about him. It wasn't like she was in love with him, but it was just the thought, those years she remembered that were full of tears and sorrow, they weren't something that could have been easily forgotten.

"-Kyou?"

She snapped out of thoughts, a bewildered look on her face as she looked back at Kasamatsu. "Sorry senpai, I wasn't listening to you just now, what were you saying?"

He smiled lightly, pointing at the menu directly below her. "I wanted to know if you wanted to split dessert, the apple tart here is your favorite right?"

She nodded, feeling slightly better at the thought of the sweet taste of her favorite dessert. "Yeah, that's fine. But I don't know if I'll be able to share it though."

He laughed heartily, leaning closer as he reached out to her until he felt the soft strands of her teal locks. Gently ruffling them as he gave her another smile. "It's fine, I don't have much of a sweet tooth anyway." Kasamatsu then called the waiter to place an order on dessert.

As he finished ordering, Kyou took another sip of her latte as she then asked the question she had been wanting to ask the entire night. "So why did you want to invite me to lunch senpai? We could have done this at school or Tetsu's house, I don't want you to waste your hard earned money on me when we are just simply eating out."

A blush immediately shown on his face, his eyes darting around nervously as his ears turned a light shade of pink. "Y-yeah...there has been something that I have been meaning to say to you for awhile Kyou...I wanted to tell you this formally."

There was a reason why Kasamatsu Yukio had invited Kyou out for lunch today. Through his weeks of attempts to court her, he failed immensely. And at some point with the cheesy pick-up lines and his discreet invitations for a coffee date, he had finally decided that he should man up. He mustered up all his courage to invite her out for lunch and he didn't want to let the chance slip.

So currently, as of now, he was planning on confessing to her.

He had been planning this for awhile, thinking of all the possible ways he could confess or find the right timing to do so. These scenarios that played perfectly throughout his mind, couldn't become a reality if he didn't do something about it. He wasn't sure if Kyou still loved Kise but he thought that he had at least had some chance with her. But knowing Kyou, she might as well reject him, not wanting to hurt their long term friendship over something as silly as love. A small margin being a possibility that she would say yes, she saying yes and taking the chance to be with him and fall in love with him would grant him eternal happiness. The probability may be small, but at least it wasn't zero.

Stirring her coffee cup, her Caribbean blue eyes met with his onyx ones. "What is it? Is it something important?" Kyou questioned nonchalantly.

He nodded. The tension around them started to become more tense. "But before I can tell you, I need to ask you this question."

"Shoot." She picked up her coffee cup.

He fumbled with his fingers. "I don't know how to say this...but Kyou..."

"Yes?" She waited in anticipation, she being extremely curious at the reason why their lunch was something of great importance.

"Are you...let me scratch that. What are your plans with Kise?"

Kyou choked on her latte that she was about to swallow, managing to prevent the liquid from spraying. After a few coughs and reassuring back pats from Kasamatsu, she managed to calm herself down. Looking up, she eyed him suspiciously, her brow furrowed with doubt.

Why did senpai want to know...was he asking for Kise? She gasped inwardly. Did that idiot send Kasamatsu-senpai to interrogate me!?

"Why do you ask?" She questioned coolly in return. She now feeling slightly skeptical of his reason for inviting her out. Kyou was enjoying the time that they had spent together and she really liked Kasamatsu around, but if that was the reason, then she wouldn't have even gone out to lunch with him.

"It's just that," he sighed as he ran a hand through his dark locks, something akin to nervousness and maybe even fear shined in his eyes.

Now Kyou was really confused, she has never seen him like this before.

"Well, I just want you to know that you have other options. You don't have to forgive him if you don't want to."

"What do you mean?" Her heart leaped just the slightest at his words.

"You were hurt, Kyou. I know that, you know that, and so did everybody else. I saw how much you were hurting during all that, how much you were effected. I just don't want to see you like that again."

The depth of the worry in his eyes quickened her heart rate. She gazed into his dark eyes and saw the shine of tears that had yet to be shed in them. This man, this strong, tough, amazing man, was crying for her? Her own eyes began to moisten upon seeing him so torn up. This is the same man who was flustered and shy at the mere presence of a female when they were younger and never showed what he truly felt inside. All of this was far from what she was expecting. Never has she seen someone care so deeply for her in such a way but there was something more to it. There was something else in his eyes that she just couldn't place.

"Yukio." She whispered before she reached her arm across the table and held his hand. Kasamatsu was shocked as he sat there in silence, she never called him by his first name, she only calling him 'Yukio' when she felt grateful to him. He smiled and held her hand tightly. He liked the feeling of having her by him, the feeling was something that he wished he could experience more of.

"Thank you."

Her tears leaving trails down her flushed face as she smiled up at him. His hand rose and gently brushed away the tears. At the sudden contact, Kyou's face flushed deeper as a gasp escaped from her lips. Quickly letting go as she held her arm against her chest with surprise, the feeling was so soft and kind yet...so loving.

What was I doing? What is this pounding feeling in my chest?

"I've never been very good at expressing myself. Maybe it was fear, me just being a coward but there is something that I need to say that I should have said a long time ago." Kyou held her breath, worry consuming her as she waited for him to continue.

"I love you, Kyou. I always have, I never said anything because I knew how you felt for Kise in the past. I hated myself for so long for sitting there watching you two and not doing anything to prevent such a thing from happening."

Kyou was beyond shocked at this point. Never had she imagined that Kasamatsu held such feelings for her.

"Senpai, none of this is your fault. Don't beat yourself up over things that couldn't be prevented or changed." She responded.

Kasamatsu knew not to expect an answer when it came to his confession. He could still see the confusion in her eyes for her feelings for Kise.

"All I want is for you to know that I am here for you, no matter what. I'll support you no matter your decision. But remember that you don't have to do anything unless you want to and that he isn't the only choice you have."

Kyou nodded, a deep shade of pink colored her cheeks as she stared at the man in front of her.

"I just want you to remember this, I'm always beside you and I will always be there for you, even through thick and thin."

After his sudden confession, Kasamatsu said his goodbyes. Placing a few bills on the table as he stood up and gave her a slight wave. "Have the dessert. The entire meal is on me. Good bye Kyou, see you at school tomorrow."

He then left the restaurant with a gentle smile upon his lips. Kasamatsu felt relieved that his feelings that he had felt for 13 years, is now known by his love.

Kyou sat there in silence. Once again, life has decided to throw another curve ball at her. What was she to do?

Kasamatsu is an incredible man. He's strong, kind, warm, caring and loving, and lets not forget handsome. He is everything any woman could possibly want. The whole package wrapped in one, but was that what she truly wanted? Could she really give Kasamatsu a chance? Would there be a possibility that he might actually help her get over Kise?

But what if everything repeats? What if she just can't forget that golden haired idiot? She couldn't feel this way again, especially not to Kasamatsu. She didn't want to break his heart and make him feel just as she did for all these years. It's too painful and she cares too much for him to do that.

But what does she plan to do with Kise? Her mind couldn't fully take in what had happened between her and Kasamatsu. It was so unexpected, she had never even so much as seen even a little sign that he loved her before. Was he that good at acting? That good at hiding what he truly feels? If so, then she could only imagine how hurt he must be over everything. And once more, another person is thrown into the equation. Another person who suffered at the hands of fate just like she did.

The waiter came up to the table and placed her apple tart in front of her. "Your tart madame, please call me if you need something alright."

She nodded. Thanking her waiter as she silently picking up her fork and dove into the treat. Cutting a piece, she let the soft and cinnamon-y flavor of apples play with her taste buds. Smiling slightly at the taste, she wondered why it tasted so different.

"I don't remember this tasting so bittersweet." Kyou mumbled.
