Chapter 10

Their friendship had started with a rocky beginning, not really giving them anything solid to build a friendship with, but against all odds, that strange purplenette had somehow wormed her way past his cold exterior and in that small circle of important people in his life – not that he'd ever admit that out loud, of course.

Elsword stared at the silver Conwell necklace around his neck in his reflection. He reached up at the necklace and laughed softly to himself.

It had merely been a month since they'd become 'friends', or at least in his world, at the time Elsword just thought of her as one of his weird, stalker-ish fangirls. And she'd given him a gift – this necklace. He really wanted to reject the gift at first, but then just gave up since he knew that Aisha wasn't going to let him reject the gift.

As their friendship developed he began wearing the necklace more and more, but never during work since he knew his fangirls would create a riot, trying to find out who gave him the necklace.

Elsword toyed with the mini-sculpture of his Conwell in the center of the necklace as he watched his reflection mimic his movements. He sighed and exited the small, cramped space known as his bathroom. Elsword flopped onto his bed and in less than ten minutes, he had fallen asleep, snoring softly.

They've been friends for 4 months, Aisha knew – she had counted. And for most of those four months, Aisha felt guilty whenever she saw him. She wanted to stop, but at the same time she didn't, and she hated that about herself.

Over the course of the four months, unbeknownst to him, Aisha had not only been visiting him daily, but nightly as well. Her conscience calls it stalking, Aisha calls it 'checking up on a friend', because, well, friends did that, didn't they? One would visit another to make sure the other's fine. And that was exactly what Aisha was doing, or so she kept telling herself.

Aisha knew the truth – she knew that her conscience was right all along. She was a stalker – his stalker – but she merely refused to acknowledge the fact that she was no better than any other citizen of Sander now.

Whenever she saw Elsword during the daytime, she would literally feel all the guilt eating away at her insides. Everything she said to him sounded like a bunch of crap through Aisha's ears, despite the fact that she hasn't lied to him throughout the four months.

Besides, what she was doing wasn't too bad; it's not like she actually went into his room or whatever. She'd always just watch him from the balcony, never daring to venture further into Elsword's room after that first night.

With a sigh, Aisha pulled herself over the railing of Elsword's balcony. She sat, leaning against the railing, as she watched the smooth rising and falling of her hero's chest through the glass sliding door.

He was alive.

Every time he left to 'work', Aisha always feared for his life – feared that one day he wouldn't come back. Come back to her.

She glanced down at her left hand, staring longingly at her bare ring finger (1), and her eyes darted back to the sleeping figure of Elsword. Aisha couldn't help but crack a grin.

No matter how much she wished it, she knew it could never happen. There was no way he'd ever be interested in a girl like her, and a lying girl at that.

"Please, Chung," Eve pleaded. "Do it for me,"

"No, Eve, I can't do that to her." Chung replied, sternly. "Do you know what they'll do to her if they find out?"

"That's exactly why you have to do it!"

"Well, I can't! I won't!" Chung retorted. "Why are you doing this, Eve? What she ever do to you to make you want to give her this fate?"

"It's not her, Chung, it's who she keeps wanting to involve herself with," Eve replied, staring at the sewing scissors in her hands. "I just want what's best for her, and I know you do too,"

"And this is supposed to be the answer?"

"No, but it's a way to get her away from him. You've seen how many times we've tried keeping her away from him and you saw how that went – she just wants him more! It's like she's some lost puppy and he's the only person she recognizes!

"Do you really want that for her, Chung? Do you? He's the 'Saviour', he's got more enemies than you have hair." Chung self-consciously tugged at his pony-tail. "If Aisha got involved more than she already is, she could get seriously hurt. His enemies might use her to get to him." Chung frowned at that final sentence. Aisha was like a little sister to him and he didn't want her getting hurt. Eve continued her explanation.

"If she's locked up, there's no way the Saviour will be able to bail her out, not with all his fangirls watching his every move." Eve explained, sneering as she said, 'Saviour'. "We'll just leave her in there for a few months, just to let her think things through – clear up her thoughts a bit. Maybe after all of this, she'll stop trying to involve herself with him."

Chung ran a hand down his face tiredly as he sat down on Eve's bed. There was moment of silence as Chung contemplated on what to say next.

"Eve, who are you really doing this for – you or Aisha?" Chung asked, looking up at his girlfriend. "Are you really doing this for her well-being, or are you doing this out of jealousy? Jealous that their relationship is better than ours, despite the fact that they're not even a thing,"

"Chung, this isn't about such petty things like lovers –"

"Either way, my answer is no," Chung said. "I can't go to such extremes as to get her locked up just for something as stupid as her crush." Chung stood up and exited the room, walking back to his room across the hall.

Eve stared after her boyfriend, gripping the sewing scissors tightly.

How did we ever start…this? Eve asked herself. She knew that the only person actually feeling anything in this relationship was Chung. She had just…lost her interest in him a long time ago, but she didn't want to let him go. The mere idea of him being romantically interested in anyone else made Eve's insides burn with anger.

Eve sighed, dropping the scissors on her nightstand and tossing her body onto the comfortable bed. She draped an arm over her eyes as memories began playing before her mind's eye.

"Tell me that you'll never let go," He said, mimicking the character on T.V.

"I'll never let go," Eve replied, copying the other character, but then Eve burst out laughing. "God, that's so cliché!" Eve laughed as the duo sat on his couch, snuggled next to each other in the dark. The only source of light in the room was coming from the small neglected T.V.

"But I mean it," He said.

"I never said I didn't believe you," Eve replied. "I just said it's so cliché. But I kind of like cliché, it's sweet."

"You know you do, and you love me because I'm so cliché." He joked and Eve supressed the rest of her laughs.

"Whatever, just go to sleep," Eve murmured as she buried her face into the crook of his neck.

"Love you,"

"Love you, too," She whispered as a tear rolled down the side of her temple.

Elsword's eyes fluttered open, and was met with the bright sun of twelve-thirty. He groaned and stretched as he yawned loudly. He sat up, groggily and trudged to his bathroom, glancing at his calendar on his way.

Uhg, another stupid day of protecting these damn people, Elsword mentally groaned. Elsword was about to change into his uniform (2), but then he felt the Conwell charm press against his collarbone and remembered the violet-haired girl that visited him daily. She was usually in his hotel room at this time, but today she wasn't anywhere to be seen.

God, don't tell me she's in trouble again. Elsword mentally grumbled, fighting off a smile, but a small grin made its way onto his face as he quickly changed and grabbed his Conwell before leaving the room.

Eve dialed the number and tried to make her breathing seemed panicked and her voice sound on-edge as the dial tone rung in her ear. The second a man on the other end picked up, Eve began breathing in a panicked manner.

"Oh El, hello?" Eve asked urgently.

"Hello, Miss," The man on the other end replied.

"Oh thank El!" Eve cried, sounding absolutely relieved that someone had finally picked up. "There's this crazy girl in my house and she's running after me with sewing scissors, she's trying to kill me!"

"Your address, ma'am?" Eve quickly rattled off the address of Chung's house and quickly hung up as if she had to hide the phone before someone discovered that she was calling for help.

Eve stared down at the phone in her hand.

"All according to plan," Eve murmured sadly before drawing out a pair of sewing scissors.

"Eve! Oh my El, what are you doing?" Aisha cried, running over Eve who was cutting parts of her skin on her wrist and arms with a pair of sewing scissors. Aisha tried prying the scissors from Eve's tight grip, but resulted in nothing but accidentally cutting her own arm.

Aisha paled when she saw how much blood was on the scissors and the amount of blood that was leaking out of Eve's self-inflicted wounds.

"Aisha, I'm doing this for you. Stop it!" Eve screeched as Aisha reached for the scissors again. When Aisha took a step forward, trying to take the scissors away from Eve, Eve tackled Aisha down, knocking them both onto the wooden floor.

The two ended up rolling all over the ground, one attempting to take away the scissors and the other trying to keep it out of the other's grasp. Distantly, over all their screaming at each other, Eve heard footsteps and the shuffling of weapons.

Eve winced when Aisha flipped them over and Eve's head slammed into the ground. Aisha grabbed Eve's wrist as Eve tried to fight Aisha off.

"Give me the scissors, Eve! I'm not sure why you're doing this, but I know hurting yourself isn't the way!" Aisha exclaimed, as she moved her other hand towards the scissors, but Eve's free hand gripped Aisha's wrist tightly, disabling her ability to reach for the scissors.

"No. Way." Eve spat out through clenched teeth. When the soldiers Eve had called earlier knocked on the door, Eve quickly flipped the blades of the scissors so that they faced her and shoved the handle of the scissors into Aisha's hands.

Eve screamed at the top of her lungs. And a soldier kicked down the front door, allowing the rest of the soldiers into the house. Oh god, Eve was so glad Chung was out with his parents at the moment or else he would be so pissed at her for indirectly destroying the front door.

"Aisha, get off me!" Eve yelled as she thrashed, trying to get Aisha off. "What's gotten into you?" Eve screamed. The soldiers positioned their weapons at Aisha.

"Put your hands in the air and drop the weapon." A soldier ordered.

"W-what's going on?" Aisha squeaked as she dropped the sewing scissors and put her hands in the air, slowly getting off Eve (3). A soldier took Aisha's hands and roughly tied them behind her back with a coil of metal wire (4). Aisha winced as she felt the metallic wire dig into her skin.

"You're under arrest for attempted murder," Another soldier reported as the soldier who had restrained her shoved her forward, towards the broken front door.

"A-attempted murder – what?! I-I haven't tried killing anybody!" Aisha protested, nervously.

"Yeah, that's totally what the evidence screams," A soldier in front of her snickered. Aisha bit her bottom lip, lost in thought.

Who could've done this? There was no way they were just conveniently strolling around this area. All they're ever good for is getting drunk and playing Poker. Aisha thought. There was brief moment where Aisha thought it could've been Eve, but Aisha immediately banished the thought.

Eve wouldn't ever do that, Aisha thought. She's your friend; she cares about you. She thought as walked whenever the soldier behind her shoved her.

"Wait!" Eve called. Aisha and the soldiers turned around to look at the silver-haired girl. "Please don't send her to prison, she's my friend," Eve pleaded. "She just…wasn't in her right mind, that's all!"

After a long pause, the soldier that appeared to be the leader of the group nodded, "Alright, Miss, we'll just take your word for it. The nutcase is going to the asylum," He announced to the rest of the soldiers and they responded with a curt nod before a soldier shoved Aisha forward to tell her to keep moving.

Aisha mouthed a quick, 'Thank you' (5) before she turned around and kept walking.

"I'm sorry, Aisha, but this is for your own good," Eve murmured softly before going back into the house to fix up her arms.

(1) - You guys probably don't remember, but Aisha's ring was on her right hand's ring finger.

(2) - Well, what else am I supposed to call it? His 'usual clothes' - no way, it sounds like he's putting on a super baggy hoodie and jeans along with some suspicious shades. So, I used the term 'uniform' for lack of better word.

(3) - GET YOUR BRAINS OUT OF THE GUTTER! NOWW!

(4) - Because handcuffs don't exist in this time period and because rope is too easy to get out of.

(5) - Because if Eve hadn't said what she had said, they would've sent Aisha to jail instead.

Ooooh! CLIMAX (SORTA) OF DA STORY! This is probably the shittiest climax of a story ever. lol. but whatever.

Okay, I know that last part seemed very weird, but let me tell you - it was awkward for both parties. It was awkward for you to read and awkward for me to write. I didn't mean for it to turn out sounding like some rape scene, but goddammit.

No, Eve isn't emo, it was so that it looked like Aisha had actually inflicted damage on Eve. And no, Eve isn't secretly after Elsword.

Eve, you scheming little bitch, trying to get Aisha in trouble with the officials... I like her more already :D/shot

lel. Well, hope you guys liked chapter 10. *Question of the Chapter: What do you think Elsword would do if he found out what happened?
