Hey hey hey! So, this is a re-write of Chapter Nine. I deleted that crappy chapter replaced it with this one. This one one's definitely better.
Disclaimer: I don not own Twilight or PJO!
CHAPTER NINE
It was around eleven at night when I heard tapping on my window.
I contemplated whether I should go and check it out. If Greek monsters can find me with my scent then maybe sparkly vampires can too. I mean, they're like empousai after all, except sparkly... and with normal legs.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were the Cullens knocking on my window because I did leave them with probably a gazillion questions they want answered.
But then again, sneaking into a teenage girl's house house in the middle of the night doesn't seem their style.
In fact, I might know the mysterious being tapping on my window at such an ungodly – hehe hehe – hour on a Tuesday night.
I opened my window only to be greeted with a pebble to the face. Great. I have a freakin' scar on my arm and now probably a bruise on my forehead. What's next? I'm gonna fall face on the stairs and break my leg?
Don't even think about it., I mentally told the gods who could probably have a slight dislike (hatred) towards me. Yeah, that's a long list... We've got the big guy up there, his wife, coralhead's daddy, that god with the boar as his symbol, Zeus, Athena, Zeus, dad's wife, Zeus, oh and – did I mention Zeus already? – Zeus.
"What the eff?" I half-shouted, half-whisp[ered. Mom was asleep and I had no intention of waking her up and getting into any more trouble. The cold air blew against the bare skin of my arms and I shivered slightly.
"Oh, God, sorry Lee!" Embry called (hehe hehe get it? Embry Call-ed. Yeah, I'm an idiot.) back and I shot him a glare as I rubbed my forehead.
"Keep it down, idiot!" I yelled to him, "Mom's asleep."
"'Sorry," he whisper-yelled before climbing up the tree in the front yard so he could get to my window.
I moved so he could get in.
"You do know that I could've just gone down and opened the front door, right?" I told him, "And what are you doing here anyway?"
Embry just shrugged before making himself at home. I scowled at him when he put his shoe-clad feet up on my bed. He caught my look and put his feet firmly on the floor.
"You never came to visit and you never called. We miss you Lee," he told me.
I sighed and sat next to him. "Sorry, I was grounded," I explained to him, "I would've called to tell you guys but no phone, remember? And actually, I just got ungrounded, like, three hours ago." I ran my fingers through my hair and this probably caught Embry's attention.
"What, what happened to your arm?"
For a moment, I didn't know how to answer. Instead, I played dumb.
"What do you mean?"
"You have a scar on your arm. It's not exactly hard to miss it," he said.
Uh, why'd I have to wear short sleeves now?
"Oh, this!" I exclaimed, pointing at the mark. "Well, you see, this is the reason why I was grounded." Not exactly a lie.
"What happened?" he asked worriedly. I didn't know whether to smile at his concern or be annoyed that he thinks I can't take care of myself.
The words flew out of my mouth before I could stop them. "This was nothing, really. Just cut myself while cooking." *Insert facepalm here*
And the award for the best liar goes to Ashley Robinson! Please note the sarcasm.
I smiled uneasily while on the inside I was beating myself up with a stick for that pathetic excuse of a lie. What the Hades is this guy doing to me? Usually, I'd be coming up with a lie that's actually believable.
One look at Em and I knew he didn't believe me. Who would, really?
"You were grounded because-"
I cut him off. "It's a long story, okay?"
He said nothing but let out a sigh. I was glad he didn't press on the subject.
I don't know when or how I fell asleep but when I woke up, Embry was gone and I had a bit of dried drool on my cheek.I would have figured that Embry coming over was a dream but then there was a gust of wind and I got out of bed to shut the window.
Glancing at my alarm clock, my mind didn't seem to register the fact that I was already an hour late for school.
Gods, my mother is going to kill me. This is like dying then coming back to life in the middle of a road and then getting run over by a speeding truck.
Before I could go full on panic mode, remembered that it was Spring Break. *Insert facepalm here*
Yeah, the rest of the day I just sat at home. Mom stayed home and it was pretty boring with just us two. I went out for a walk and passed by a group of girls from school. I would've ignored them and their gossiping but then I heard something... interesting.
Bella ran away. From forks. Back to wherever it is she came from.
Wow, I sound kinda mean.
Honestly, I couldn't care less if she left or not. But when I heard that it had something to do with that Cullen, I was more than interested to know what's going on.
I heard rumors that it was because of a date gone wrong or something like that. Knowing the Cullens – not that I actually know the Cullens aside from them not being human – the situation could be a bigger problem than it actually is.
That could be the reason why I hadn't seen any of those bloodsuckers since that day. They're all too busy with whatever to track me down and demand answers.
Those were the thoughts that ran through my mind as I drove to the reservation.
Yup, I was free from the grounding part of the punishment. Unfortunately, I was driving mom's Toyota since I wasn't officially free from punishment. She forbid from even looking at my precious baby! So unfair.
"Where have you been, Lee Lee?" Jacob questioned as he engulfed me in a bone-crushing bear hug.
As soon as I got out of the car, I was attacked by the three idiots. Hehe, isn't that a movie? You know, that Indian movie, '3 Idiots'. Vlaccas! Now I have that 'All is Well' song stuck in my head.
Anyway...
Jake finally let me go and I could breathe again. Quil and Jake both out an arm around my shoulders, with Jake on my left and Quil on my right. Embry walked behind us as we headed into Jake's house.
"We missed you Lee." said Quil. "Well, Em missed you more but..."
I rolled my eyes at that comment, secretly hoping that I wasn't turning into tomato.
"I was grounded." I answered Jake's earlier question as I sat on the couch. The others, too, sat down and I was suddenly squished between Quil and Embry.
"For four days?" Embry asked with wide eyes and I shook my head.
"Two and a half days, actually." I explained. "I went somewhere on Saturday and didn't get back until the next day."
"Where'd you go?"
I shrugged. "Can't say. It's confidential." I answered nonchalantly.
"Lemme guess. You went out with some guy and decided to stay over." Quil said and I rolled my eyes. I felt Embry stiffen beside me. Seems like he never told the guys about his trip to my house last night.
I wonder why that is. Oh, yeah, because my friends were jerks and wouldn't let it go.
"C'mon. You guys are the only ones I hang out with. No one else can handle my awesomeness." I said and Embry seemed to relax a bit, probably getting the message that I may or may not have intended to send.
"You're probably just saying that." Jake said and I stuck my tongue out at him playfully. The guys let out a laugh and we easily fell into our usual routine.
The day passed by in a flash and and soon it was time for me to head home.
A/N: So, this is the last chappy. I want to thank you, reader, for well, reading. Without you guys then I wouldn't have a reason to continue with this. I'm happy to say that VDS has come to an end. The next part will be coming soon so look out for any updates. I'll post the details as soon as possible.
Until next time, castergurl11
