"Ken's Secret"
This is not a Lucemon/Daisuke pairing. I'm not sure what pairing I want it to be. Please enjoy and review!
"WHAT?!" Yolei yelled in shock.
Cody and Daisuke arrived at the school and told Yolei, Cody, TK and Kari about the Bender finally meeting her parents, finding out that Cody was actually her cousin and that the boy is an Earth Bender.
"Do we really have to repeat ourselves?" Daisuke sighed.
"This is so great! You finally found your family." Kari smiled.
Daisuke smiled at this too, happy that she had gotten to spend time with her parents as they explained about Korra being the Avatar, Mako being a Fire Bender, Bolin being an Earth Bender, Tenzin being an Air Bender and Eska being a Water Bender.
Glancing over to the digimon as they ate, the girl smiled as she thought back to what happened last night.
"So am I a Bender too?" Cody asked as everyone sat down to dinner.
"We never thought to test that theory." Eska answered as she ate the fish.
"You never showed any bending skills when you were younger, so we assumed you weren't a Bender." Bolin shrugged.
"It isn't uncommon for parents with bending abilities to have children who don't have any powers. In fact, there have been times when children have bending powers when their parents don't." Tenzin explained.
"Oh." Cody nodded, but he appeared to be disappointed.
"Actually, I think Cody is an Earth Bender." Daisuke announced making everyone look at her in confusion.
"What makes you say that?" Tenzin asked.
"Because a slight tremor was set off, but no one noticed it but me. I'm sure it came from Cody." The mahogany haired girl explained.
"Cody?" Eska asked as she turned to her son in surprise.
I, um, I thought that I made some pebbles hit Yolei before, but I didn't notice the tremor." Cody said staring at his hands.
Pulling a stone from her pocket, Daisuke held it up and then turned to look at Cody.
"Think about what you were feeling earlier today. Your powers are connected to your emotions. All you need to do it learn how to control them." She told him.
Nodding, Cody thought back to the annoyance he felt from Yolei's complaining and his eyes narrowed as everyone watched curiously.
Then, the stone lifted into the air making the group gasp, Cody included while Daisuke smiled at her cousin while the stone fell back into her hand since the boy lost his concentration.
"Not bad, kid. With a little training, you'll be bending as easily as breathing." Korra smiled as she pointed her chopsticks at the blushing brunette.
"I was so hoping he'd be a Water Bending like me. Oh well." Eska sighed as she sipped her tea.
"Don't worry, you'll be a great Bender. Better than Bolin even." Mako smirked as his brother pouted at him.
"Um, Daisuke, you'll help me, right?" Cody asked his cousin.
This made eveyroen curious.
"Sure. After we get the Earth Bending down, I'll teach ya how to Metal Bend. Who knows maybe we can even see if we can awaken your Water Bending roots." Daisuke winked at Cody who smiled.
"Daisuke, what can of Bender are you?" Tenzin asked.
"Oh, well, when I was four I first found out I was a Water Bender. After that, I started practising until I was contacted by Aang, Kiyoshi and Roku. They then started teaching me how to access all the other elements so I could protect myself. I taught myself Water Bending and ice Bending and then I created a new form of bending. It's called Plant Bending." Daisuke said cheerfully with a large smile.
Everyone was silent at that, Cody continuing his meal while the adults were staring at the 12 year old in shock, Tenzin's jaw dropped wide open.
Seeing that no one was speaking, Daisue frowned along with Cody as they glanced around the table at the stunned adults.
"Wh-What?! That's impossible! Only the avatar can access all the elements and speak to the old Avatars' spirits!" Tenzin yelled.
"Really? I've been able to see them ever since I was four. They come to me." Daisuke blinked.
"I can't believe Avatar Aang never told me about this! I had a right to know about my daughter's life." Korra glared.
Mako sighed at this as he continued eating, but he also felt annoyed at the old Avatar for not informing them that their daughter was alive and well.
Tenzin then cleared his throat.
"So, Daisuke, you say you've created a new form of bending. Would you mind showing us?" the old man asked.
"I'd love to. I actually got the idea from mixing Air bending and Water bending. Come on, I'll show you." Daisuke said as she stood up.
Everyone then went outside of the building and went to the park where it was dark out and deserted.
Standing in front of a tree, Daisuke moved her arms gracefully and fluidly as if she were bending water and also had the stance of an Air Bender.
The leaves form the tree then floated down off of the branches and she bent them around her body, spinning her body around as her arms moved beautifully, the leaves swirling around her gently.
Korra and Mako both smiled proudly at her daughter while Bolin had a look of wonder as Cody sat on his shoulder, Eska remained neutral while her eyes shone with amazement and Tenzin was gaping.
When she was done with her demonstration, Daisuke stood in the stance an Air Bender would crouched down on her knees with her arms raised in front of her face in the form of a square, her fists touching her elbows and the leaves fluttered to the ground.
"Amazing! Wait until Asami and the others see this." Bolin laughed.
"Truly astounding. You could teach others this new power. There can be another race of Benders. You just became the first Plant Bender and there's a chance your children will have this power as well." Tenzin said excited.
Blushing at the praise, Daisuke stood and walked back over to her parents, her mother hugging her while her father ruffled her bangs.
"What about the digimon? Did you tell them about that?" TK asked.
"We waited until morning to do that. They were a bit surprised, but they accepted it." Cody said.
"Yeah, now we don't have to hide in the house anymore." Upamon smiled as he bounced.
"Lucky. TK's mom found out about the digimon a few years ago, but I still have to hide." Patamon pouted.
"That's because Mom would panic and think some evil monster is trying to destroy the world again." TK said.
"It's still not fun having to hide." Poromon flew beside Yolei's head.
The computer then beeped making everyone turn to it as Cody walked over and checked the screen, gasping at what he found.
"I don't believe it." he gasped.
"You're dreaming. Let me pinch you." V-Mon jumped up on the table next to him.
"A new control spire was just built." Cody announced making everyone run over.
"I guess now that the Digimon Emperor knows Daisuke and V-Mon aren't living in the Digital World anymore, he's taking advantage of it." Yolei said.
"Where is the control spire?" Gatomon asked.
"I know that area. It's the Forbidden Valley." Daisuke said as she leaned over to see the screen.
"Why do evil places always have names like that?" Kari asked.
"It's in the job description along with bad breath and manic laughter." TK commented.
"Agni, I hate that." The Bender muttered.
"I say they need to come up with more original names for evil places. Why does it have to be the clichéd evil stuff like forbidden, dangerous, dark or whatever." Yolei listed.
"It could be called the land of Ducks and Bunnies, but with a control spire, it's still a problem." Cody said.
"Come on, we need to go." TK said.
Everyone pulled out their D-3s and were pulled into the desert area, the group looking around curiously as they walked along, searching for the spire.
"Yeah, this place sure does look forbidden." Kari commented.
"A few ducks and bunnies would spruce it up." Armadillomon said.
"This doesn't feel right, guys." Yolei said as she looked around nervously.
"Shh, be quiet. We don't want to attract any attention." Daisuke said.
The sand then caved in under Yolei and Hawkmon making Daisuke bend air under them to keep them away.
"I bet he heard that." Patamon commented.
Everyone screamed as the sand started to cave in under them so Daisuke bent the air to lift them into the air and then blasted fire at the sand, turning it into glass and stopped the sinking.
"Okay, this is obviously a trap." Yolei said as everyone was set down on the glass, Cody clinging to his cousin's waist so he didn't slip and fall.
"I'm impressed." A familiar voice echoed around them making the group look around.
"It's the Digimon Emperor!" Hawkmon flapped into the air.
"But where is he?" V-Mon asked.
"Why don't you come find me?" the Emperor crooned.
"Everyone, digivolve now. Cody, you're getting some on the job training." Daisuke told him.
Everyone nodded as green, orange, pink, red and purple lights filled the area as the digimon digivolved.
"DIGI ARMOUR ENERGIZE!"
"V-Mon armour digivolve too…Fladramon: the Fire of Courage!"
"Armadillomon armour digivolve too…Digmon: the Drill of Power!"
"Gatomon armour digivolve too…Nefertimon: the Angel of Light!"
"Hawkmon armour digivolve too…Halsemon: the Wings of Love!"
"Patamon armour digivolve too…Pegasusmon: Flying Hope!"
Everyone mounted or were carried by their digimon as they headed off in the direction the Emperor's voice came from and found him standing on top of a tall hill.
He was smirking down at them with Wormmon at his side looking a bit worried and had a few burn marks on his body which made both Fladramon and Daisuke infuriated.
"Welcome to my domain. Ready to play?" the Emperor taunted.
"You jerk. You're going down." Yolei glared.
"Stay out of this. Little Miss Bender and I are in need of a rematch. The rest of you on the other hand, I have this little surprise ready for you." the Emperor said as he snapped his fingers.
The ground then began to quake making everyone tense up.
"What's happening?" TK asked.
"Maybe it's a bunny or a duck." Fladramon suggested hopefully.
"I highly doubt that." Nefertimon said.
A large dragon like creature burst from the ground, roaring as he did so and the group all stared in shock at the sight of it.
"What is that thing?" Yolei yelled.
"It's not a ducky or a bunny." Digmon said.
"Deltamon is a dragon whose hands are also heads that send out energy blasts. He's dangerous." Pegasusmon informed.
"He's also hungry." The Emperor said.
He then jumped down and punched a blast of flames at Daisuke and she held her hands out, a barrier of air blocking the attack.
"Daisuke!" TK called.
"Destroy Deltamon's ring. I'll take care the hot head." She called back and she thrust a blast of fire at the Emperor.
"Got it. Everyone follow my lead!" Fladramon called.
She then charged at Deltamon, hitting him in the stomach while the others took to the air and sent off their attacks at the large dragon while the humans stood back watching.
Daisuke and the Emperor were locked in hand to hand combat, flames swirling around them as they fought and the Emperor blew fire at her face making her bend her body back, the fire sailing through the air towards Cody.
The boy saw the attack and panicked, holding his hands up and a wall of stone rose from the ground, protecting him from the flames.
"Cody!" Kari gasped when she saw him bending.
"What?" the Emperor gasped.
He was then kicked in the stomach by Daisuke and she then threw flames at his face making him backflip out of the way.
Cody sighed in relief, but was also in awe that he had been able to use his powers to protect himself.
Maybe that was what Daisuke meant by the on the job training.
His powers were connected to his emotions and he was able to activate them on instinct.
Nefertimon and Pegasusmon flew in from the sky they watched Digmon drill cracks into the ground making Deltamon stumble back.
"Now what do we do?" Halsemon asked Fladramon.
"Have Nefertimon and Pegasusmon tie Deltamon up, then the rest of us will aim our attacks for the dark ring." Fladramon told him.
"I'm on it." Halsemon took to the air.
Just then, a swarm of Bakemon flew in and joined in on attacking the digimon.
"Did you really think I wouldn't come with back-up?" the Emperor sneered.
He then created a fireball and threw it at Daisuke and she then shot a bolt of lightning through the fireball making him gasp.
"Do you really think I'm going to let you hurt my friends and family, Ken Ichijouji?" Daisuke sneered back.
The Bakemon were all freed as Pegasusmon and Nefertimon used their Golden Noose to tie up Deltamon while Fladramon, Digmon and Halsemon all used their attacks and destroyed the dark ring making the group cheer.
"So you figured me out, huh?" the Emperor asked as he pulled his visor off.
TK, Yolei, Kari and Cody all ran over and gasped when they found out that the Digimon Emperor was Ken, the boy they had watched play soccer the other day.
"I knew it was you. You need to change more than your clothes and hairstyle to trick me." Daisuke crossed her arms.
"Ken is the Digimon Emperor?" TK asked in shock.
"I don't believe it." Yolei gasped with her hand over her mouth.
"Believe it. Until next time, Digi-Fools." Ken smirked as Wormmon flew in on an Airdramon.
Ken jumped up and landed on the dragon's back as he took off with everyone watching him in confusion and shock.
