The headlines of the Daily Bugle read "MYSTERIOUS BOMBER CONTINUES TO BLOW UP COMPETITION." The pictures showed a green blurred man flying away on a glider.

Deep in the offices of Oscorp, Norman Osborn laughed as he read the paper. "So they finally know…good. The reach of the Goblin must spread. Speaking of which, I have a meeting with Crime Master." Osborn got up from his chair and reach into a secret compartment behind the large painting of himself. Inside was the Goblin Gear. He put it on, shut the compartment, and flew out the window.

Deep inside the lair of Crime Master, he sat alone. "Sure" he thought to himself "I'm a successful business man. Why do I need an underground empire? I'll tell ya why. Profits. I could command my goons to take out the competition. The fashion industry is a surprisingly fierce battlefield."

The Goblin then walked inside, breaking Crime Master's concentration. "Sorry to interrupt!" Gobby said while laughing "But we had a meeting, remember?"

Crime Master nodded and said "Of course. Take a seat." Goblin sat down and asked "So…where's the henchmen?" Crime Master walked over to him and said "Hold your horses. They're here. Believe me, Osborn."

Gobby smiled and said "Yes! Yes! Very good and you're lucky I gave my identity to you, why aren't you sharing your little secret?" Crime Master looked at him and said "Because I'm not criminally insane. You're just a body guard, Osborn. Remember that."

For once Gobby did not smile, but he frowned. "Remember who you're dealing with, Crimey. I am bodyguard to nobody." Crime Master's pure white eyes squinted as he said "No. You're the bodyguard to me."

Then Spider-Man kicked down the doors and said "It's over Crime Master!" Crime Master's eyes widened and looked at Goblin. "You led him here you fool!" Goblin smirked and said "That was the plan! Two birds with one stone!"

At the press of a button, the building began to collapse as explosions filled the air. In the smoke of the flames, the Goblin was already gone. "EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!" Crime Master screamed as his thugs got out, but he was not so lucky. Spidey saved many thugs, and many more got out…but Crime Master got crushed beneath the beams of the wood.

The Green Goblin hovered above the now wrecked building and demanded "Alright Crime Master's henchmen, you work for the Green Goblin now, got it? If not, then you all can sign your resignations…IN YOUR BLOOD!"

The thugs stepped back in fear, and they all nodded. But Spidey stood up to the Goblin and said "Hey! So you're the Green Goblin. I've only seen glimpses of you so far, but I think it's time we got to know each other some more, don't you agree?"

Goblin laughed and said "Oh yes I agree! Let's become friends!"

The glider then rammed into Spidey, and he took the full hit and finally hit the ground. Goblin then threw bombs around the fallen, Spidey but not directly at him. "Are you ready to die, Spider-Man?"

Spidey got back up, and shot webs into the Glider's exhaust pipes. The glider crashed, but Goblin flipped off. "I never saw anyone damage my glider, that's impressive!" he said still with a smile. Spidey ran at him and said "I'm full of surprises, Goblin!" Gobby backflipped around Spidey and stabbed a syringe into one of his veins. He took a sample of his blood. Spidey turned around expecting to hit Goblin.

Instead Goblin just threw a smoke bomb at the ground, and he was gone before Spidey could land the hit. He looked around, but Goblin had vanished from the area somehow. The thugs had run off, awaiting orders from their new boss.

Spidey kicked a rock on the ground and swung away. But out from under the rubble Crime Master crawled out. His mask and hat had fallen off, and beneath was a man with white hair. "Osborn betrayed me…" he thought to himself. "Oh Kingsley…wait I know what I can do! I can buy out his company! I'm sure I can do it! It's falling anyway! That'll show him…" Kingsley wiped himself off and continued on his way.

Spider-Man then got back to the Daily Bugle, and put on his casual clothes. He walked inside through the roof and walked into Jameson's office. Eddie Brock was once again being berated by his boss. Peter just waited outside, he couldn't hear them. The walls around Jameson's office were sound proof because they knew how much he liked to yell

"BROCK!" Jameson yelled "MY SON'S SPACE SHUTTLE IS SCHEDULED FOR LANDING IN A COUPLE DAYS! GET ME PICTURES OF THAT, AND THAT'S YOUR LAST CHANCE, GOT IT?" Brock nodded and said "Yes sir! I'll get right on that." Jameson dismissed Eddie and let Parker in.

"You got the pictures I wanted of that Goblin fellow? Or him and Spidey in cahoots?" Jameson asked the young man. Peter scratched the back of his head and said "Well…I got pictures of the Goblin, but not him and Spider-Man in the same roo—" Jameson smashed his hand against the desk and said "THEN GIMME THOSE GOBLIN PICS! THEN GET OUT!" Peter handed him the pictures of the Goblin, and walked right back out.

Speaking of the Goblin, he arrives at the Oscorp building once more. Back within the corridors, he watched the young Cindy Moon in her "room" as he liked to call it. It was more of a prison cell that only had food, a crude bed, and an outdated computer. Goblin walked inside the room and asked "Are you doing alright Cindy?"

She nodded and said "I-I guess…and my name is Cindy?" Goblin said "Of course. We went over this last night after the…helping you forget the bad things. Do you remember the bad things, Cindy?" Cindy shook her head. Flashes of the fire that burned down her house went through her head, but she couldn't remember what that incident meant.

"Then it worked…" Goblin continued "By the way, I'm making progress. Soon you'll be able to go outside again when I give you these special powers. I just need to know something personal about Spider-Man…and work on just how to lure him in. You and him will be special friends."

Cindy just looked around the room. She knew the name Spider-Man, but had no idea what it exactly meant. It just brought good feelings to her. She seemed happy about this.

Goblin smiled warmly and said "Yes. You're gonna have a fun time with him." As he said this he thought "She'll act as bait. Bait him in and then squish him. Her too incase her memories begin to show up…good thing I've managed to cover up her disappearance as death at least. Nobody will miss Cindy Moon…"

Back at the Daily Bugle, Spider-Man sat alone. He ate a sandwich as he looked over the city. He's been keeping an eye out for Doctor Octopus most of all. He was concerned for the man more than he was angry at him.

Suddenly, sitting next to him was Spider-Woman. She asked him "What's shakin', champ?" Peter said "Nothing much. You hear about this Green Goblin guy?" She nodded and said "Oh yeah. I have. Seem's like a real nutjob, but I don't think he'll be a problem in the long run. We should be worried about Ock."

"I've been looking for him, but I just can't find hi—" then a large explosion came from the bank. Doc Ock was on the back of a car holding bags of money with his claws. A cop car was chasing his car. Spider-Man and Spider-Woman then swung into action.

Ock looked over at them and dropped the money into the back of the car. "They're here! Good!" he mumbled and attempted to grab them in mid-air. They both shot web-lines at the car and pulled, avoiding his tentacles. "Nice try, Otto!" Spidey quipped. "Pfff, yeah. Better luck next time!" Spider-Woman retorted.

Ock tried grabbing them again, but failed. They were just too quick as they crawled around the car. Ock's rage built until he was smashing his own getaway car. The driver said "Calm down, Boss!" Ock said "Not until those Spiders are squished!" the car then exploded from all the damage it received. Burning money flew through the air. "NO!" Otto screamed.

"At least the Spiders exploded with it…" he said with mirth. But then the two Spiders swung over and Spider-Woman said "Nope, sorry Otto. We left that car long ago." Spidey then said "Hah yeah. You smashed your car and we weren't even on it." Ock growled and then grabbed the incoming police car. He tore it in half and grabbed the cop inside. It was Captain Stacy.

The eyes of Spider-Woman's mask went wide as she saw the man Ock held hostage. Spidey's eyes instead squinted as he said "Put the man down, Otto!" Ock said "No. Take another step and this man dies. Got it?"

Spidey tried coaxing the Doctor into going back to the side of good. "Otto" he began to say 'You don't want to hurt him. You feel betrayed by the world, I can tell. I've felt that too. There's a good man in you. We can get that harness surgically removed…just…please. Put Captain Stacy down, we can help you." Spider-Woman nodded in agreement.

"Y-you really mean it?" Otto asked. They both nodded. Ock then started to put down Captain Stacy, but then he instead snapped the Captain's neck. He smiled and said "As if I need to be 'fixed' by your standards! I've never been more fixed in my life!" He then tossed the corpse aside.

The eyes of Spider-Woman's mask went wide as he saw Stacy's corpse tossed aside. Spidey instead squinted and said "I didn't want to do this…but looks like there is no helping you now, Otto." Spider-Woman then got mad and yelled "I'm gonna make you pay for that!"

Otto cocked an eyebrow and said "Oh? Then show me what you can do…"
