"My...!"
The princess exclaimed from within her throne. the advancing fleet that had been closing into the end of the strait steadily after each retreat was now showing much promise in battle.
At this rate, the party may actually reach their throne, and the ritual may be complete with a little extra to boot.
The promise she made to the fated Re-class would finally be fulfilled.
The princess's heart jumped with joy. As she contained her excitement;
"Fetch me the Re." She ordered a floating mass of black that was a manifestation of her crew.
A single bell rang, and the abyssals all roared in enthusiasm. all who were chosen by the princess raced up to the surface, geared and loaded for battle.
Re-class watched these fleets float up lazily, contemplating whether she too would go up this time or rest a little more.
Her princess never gave her any direct orders for they had many other units to take over for her. The princess did say, however, that if she ever so wished to, she could come to the surface to play with the surface fleets.
Re-class had done so every time the summons were sounded, but never did she meet the right fleet. as of late, she's come to giving up going up to the surface at all.
Thus, she decided to turn away and head for a place where she could lay back and maybe snooze a couple of minutes of sleep. Just then, a familiar voice called to her.
"You're not going?"
The elite Wo-class asked innocently, to which Re-class cracked a weak smile.
"Feelin lazy today. I'll pass for the time being."
The Wo-class slumped, looking disappointed and slightly distressed. She had thought of going to the surface for an exercise with Re-class in order to lift her mood.
"You look depressed as of late." Wo asked without a moment to waver. They both were new to the deep. It was natural to want to help.
Re lost her grin.
"Well... I'm just a bit sick."
"Do abyssals get sick?" Wo strikes an innocent question, a finger to her chin as she pondered.
"Not really." Re replies, "But our souls aren't the purest. When you start to think about how corrupt you've become, you just can't stand just being you."
Re stares at her hand blankly as she spoke. her words were bland, as if she hadn't put any thought into the words she chose. they did, however, carry a sense of emotion.
These words were ones that came from a heart.
"... I don't get it." Wo knits her eyebrows. To her, Re was being awfully philosophical or just slightly emotionally stressed. It was all she could do to listen, but she wouldn't be able to hold a conversation.
"Yea." Re says after a while. The look on Wo had her grinning widely yet again. I guess you wouldn't, she whispered within her heart.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Puffed Wo.
As she fumed her anger towards the chuckling Re, a mass of black floated to the two. from it, a gentle voice flowed through the water. When the two heard the princess's voice, they both looked to the mass.
"Rejoice, my dear Re!" To this, Re-class felt her heart jolt. "The ceremony may finally begin!"
Her order was to join the princess at the final node of the strait, where she would be given a blessing that had been promised to her at the start of the event. Re was stunned after she had received her order. Wo stared at the still Re.
"Re-class?" and when he poked the Re-class, she came back to earth with a jolt.
"Wo." She said with a grin, malicious in nature this time.
"Y-yes?"
"We won't let them have the princess this time."
