AN: Hooooly shiiiiit. To tell the truth I didn't expect you guys to ACTUALY give me forty reviews! Thank you all! And now, messages…
To: Everyone- At the end of this little story will be a huge, epic, final battle between Wyatt and someone that you would least expect! (Ha, did you really think I was going to tell you?) Anyways, I'm setting up a little contest:
By review, submit the name and artist of any song that you would deem appropriate for an epic, one on one final battle.
Thank you for taking the time to review to fulfill my stupid little dream, and now, chapter ten!
Gardon glanced at the clock and found that it was 11:00a.m. . If the guardians didn't get up they'd miss valuable training time! They had yet to beat him so far, and if they couldn't do that, then they would never be able to succeed against both Eggmans! Gardon sighed and began up the grand staircase to the bedrooms. As he walked through the corridor, he heard the sounds of people sleeping. At the far end was his first destination, the princess' room. He made it to the large oak door and slowly opened it… to find the room empty. Where could she have gone? Wait, there was one place…
(BPOV)
My eyes slowly flutter open to the sunlit room. By the way he's breathing, Wyatt's still asleep. I think that was possibly the best sleep I've ever had. I attempt to read his thoughts. Oh, hehe, he's dreaming about snakes! By the looks of it, he'll be waking up soon. Sure enough, the snake he's been running from starts to gain on him before lunging. When the snake's about a centimeter from his face, he wakes with a start. He doesn't notice me lying against him, instead he freezes.
Oh, God, there's one coiled around me! He yells in a panicking tone in his mind. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, my arms are wrapped around his torso. He sees me and immediately relaxes.
"You aren't a snake, that's for sure." He says. "Hey, wait, why're you here?"
"I don't know, I guess sleep finally caught up with me and I just collapsed on the bed."
"So you collapsed and cuddled against me?" he asks, making my cheeks go red.
"Okay, I may have wanted to stay, but do you really object?"
"Nope." He leans in and kisses my forehead, sending a shock through my whole body.
"If you're going to do it, do it right." Then I kiss him on the lips. I hear the door open and instantly release him.
"Your highness, you need to get up to continue your training." Gardon says.
"Very well Gardon, I'll be down in a few minutes." And the koala leaves.
This isn't over. I say before walking back to my room to change.
(WPOV)
Wow, what an amazing woman, am I right? I do my routine morning stretches and scratches and head out the door. I smell breakfast! I follow my nose to the dining room, where a large table adorned with steaming hot dishes lining it sits. Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
"Breakfast will have to wait, I'm afraid, we're already behind schedule." Gardon calls from behind me. DAMN IT! I thought koalas were supposed to be cute and cuddly! This one's just pure evil. Maybe if I could just sneak a piece of bacon…
"NOW, WYATT!"
"Alright I'm coming!"
(Thirty minutes later, training ring)
We're back where we were yesterday, holding our swords and standing across from Gardon in our protective suits. To make things worse, the palace guard was taking the day off to watch, and they were making bets! Who will win, the guardians or Gardon? Please, we already know that one! All around us the guards were cheering for whatever side, hoping to get a share of the dough. The only people that I think were truly supporting us were Sonic and the rest of the crew.
"Ready? BEGIN!" Gardon shouts. He immediately sends a side swipe. I raise my sword and it bounces off my blade. While he's reeling I go forward with a downward strike. He side steps and takes a jab at Blaze, who swipes the hit away. I try to stab him in the back but he backflips over the blade. He sweeps my feet out from beneath me and kicks me in the chest, sending me flying to the other side of the ring. I'm not out though! I see Blaze putting up her best fight. But, Gardon ends up landing a good punch on her, and she falls back. Gardon stands over her, bringing up his sword. I quickly run towards them and raise my sword. I'm five feet and closing when Gardon spins around and lashes at me. I don't have time to react and I get hit in the face, effectively knocking me out. I'm forced to walk to the edge of the ring and watch as Blaze is quickly eliminated. She glares at me again and takes her stance as another round starts…
(Three hours later)
"No, you need to use your connection to the fullest!"
"But Gardon, we are! We communicate our plans to each other!"
"That's not enough! When you truly use your connection, you'll be able to know someone's next move before they even make it!"
"But how?" Blaze asks.
"You know how, you just need to feel it." Gardon says and heads to his side of the ring. By now most of the guards had left and I'm fucking hungry! What does he mean by using the connection to the fullest?
Go for his feet. Blaze says. Fine by me.
"GO!" Gardon yells. Blaze goes first and feigns a swipe to the head, giving me time to swing at his legs. In a blur he hops over it and runs behind me.
"WYATT LOOK OUT!" Blaze yells. Suddenly, I see a third person view of me! I'm standing, holding my sword, with Gardon behind me about to stab me in the back. Wait, it's not a third person view; it's Blaze's eye view! I step off to the side, narrowly dodging the attack. How the hell did we do that? Is that what Gardon was talking about? In one leap I fly over to where Blaze is standing.
"What was that?" She asks. "It was like I was looking through your eyes!"
"Same here, maybe this is what Gardon was talking about."
"Then let's try it so we can be done with this already."
3, 2, 1, GO! I shout. Blaze and I charge side by side towards Gardon, who's taking a defensive stance. I let loose with a strike going up to the right. Gardon block it. Then the weirdest thing happens. I watch as Gardon easily picks off blaze with a stab to the chest, but then the scene changes back to normal, as if it had never happened.
He's going to take a stab at your chest! I shout to Blaze. Sure enough, Gardon attempts to spear her through the chest, just like in the vision. But instead of Blaze getting killed, she blocks it and attacks again.
How'd you know? She asks.
Must be this bond thing.
I just had a strange vision where Gardon makes a downward strike!
Thanks! I say, then block Gardon's blow before it even comes close. That's when another weird thing happens. I don't know how to explain it, but it's like I'm inside Blaze's body and mine at the same time! I can feel each blow she makes. This must be what Gardon was talking about right?
Are you feeling that too?
Yep, right side!
Got it. She says and blocks the attack going at her flank.
(How can you see into my eyes like open doors?)
Wyatt now is not the time for background music.
I think that's you, Blaze. I say while dodging another swipe at my neck. Blaze playing background music? Where did that come from?
(Leading you down to my core where I've become so numb.)
"Guards!" Gardon shouts. About eight other men jump into the ring with swords and protective gear.
"Hey, no fair!" I shout.
Oh well, we'll take them all out. Blaze says.
(Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold.)
GO! Blaze yells. We charge at the mass of soldiers and leap into the air just as the long pause in the song begins.
(Until you find it there and lead it back home.)
… … … … … … … We come down hard and I land on one of the soldiers, taking him out with a stab to the chest.
(Wake me up- Wake me up inside!)
Blaze does a midair 180 and slashes a guard across the chest.
Behind you! I shout. She acknowledges and stabs the man behind her in the stomach.
(I can't wake up- Wake me up inside!)
I deflect an attack then spin around to slash the man who was about to stab me in the back. Then, without even looking, stab the man behind me as he gets up.
(Save me- Call my name and save me from the dark!)
Left! She shouts. I side step to the left to avoid a swipe that probably would have dissected me. I immediately turn and begin fighting him.
(Wake me up- Bid my blood to run!)
The wolf sends a straight jab at my chest. I catch his blade with mine and heave upwards, sending his blade flying. I then stab him in return before catching his blade as it falls. I quickly spin around and throw the sword at a guy that was sneaking up behind Blaze. It nails him in the back and he walks out of the ring.
Thanks.
(I can't wake up- before I come undone!)
Blaze and I attack the last man and each easily over power him. Now it's just us and Gardon, wherever he went…
(Save me- save me from the nothing I've become.)
Behind us! Blaze shouts and we separate, a blade scything through the air where we used to be. We spin around and continue our onslaught.
(Now that I know what I'm without, you can't just leave me. Breath into me and make me real, bring me to life.)
Me and Blaze pause to catch our breath before I send a jab at Gardon's face as Blaze tries to slice his legs. He dodges and we begin to fight like we've never fought before, each side blocking as well as sending blows. The audience was starting to lose tracking of what was going on.
(Wake me up- Wake me up inside!- I can't wake up- Wake me up inside!- Save me- Call my name and save me from the dark!- Wake me up- Bid my blood to run- I can't wake up- Before I come undone- Save me- Save me from the nothing I've become…)
The song fades and the dust clears. Gardon is standing stiff as a board with his hands up, both of our blades at his throat. Me and Blaze smirk before closing the little X the two lengths of steel made and slitting his throat, making his suit turn red and taking him out. All is silent before we hear roaring applause from the bleachers. It's over, we won!
(BPOV)
Did we just beat Gardon?
(SPOV)
HOLY SHIT THAT LOOKED SO BADASS!

(WPOV)
Woohoo! Party at my place! There's going to be music, drinks, and fireworks!
(BPOV again)
So where did you learn that song anyways? I never played it before. And since when did you like background music? Wyatt asks. I give him a sheepish grin.
Whenever I teleport to another universe, I always catch little snippets from other universes. Once I heard that song while traveling and it kind of got stuck in my head. As for your other question, I guess I'm starting to see how it makes things a little more fun.
I guess I'm starting to rub off on you, huh?
You have no idea. Before this I'd never let another man really touch me physically, except for Silver. But even with him it was only hugs or small things like that.
Whoa. Is his response.
"Very good you two, you may rest now, and I believe lunch is being served- oh!" Gardon says in surprise when he saw that the two guardians were already out of the courtyard, heading for the dining room.
(1 hour later, WPOV)
After getting something to eat and bathing (I made sure to knock this time), we were called to the map room where a large globe of the world stood in the center.
"Our spies have come back with some surprising news." Gardon says, eyeing the animals in the room. "It appears that both Eggmans have convinced the forces of the nearby kingdom of the hills to turn against their leaders in a large coupe." He presses a button and a red dot appears on the globe about fifty miles from our position. Little screens pop up and show the king and queen being surrounded by guards in green uniforms and forced to surrender. Then it shows a young fox girl that looks about my age being thrown into a prison cell.
Soriah! Blaze shouts in her mind.
Who?
Never mind.
"We still do not know what terrible crimes they might be committing with the Sol emeralds, but at least we know where they are. Guardians, we're looking to you to know what to do next." Everyone turns their attention to Blaze and I. Without a moment's hesitation, Blaze speaks.
"We need to leave now, if we all run there we could get there in at least an hour!" she says. I stare at the globe and the flashing images of large armies.
"Blaze, I don't think a straight on, run there and take it strategy will work for this."
"How so."
"Well take a look at those armies. Even with all of our power combined, it still wouldn't be enough." I gesture to the globe.
"Well what do you have in mind?"
"Well, look here, you have an army just as large if not bigger than the force we would face, willing to fight and die to retrieve those emeralds. Besides, if we walked all day and kept a quick pace, we could easily reach our destination in about five days max."
"So what you're saying is that we get our forces and have them assault the kingdom while we find the emerald?"
"Exactly." I say. Everyone in the room considers it for a second.
"Sounds good to me." They say.
"Very well, I'll assemble the forces. Sleep well tonight, because tomorrow we march." Gardon says before leaving.
AN: Song is "Bring me to life" by Evanesance. I would highly advice opening a separate tab and re reading that fight scene while hearing the words. Remember to submit your final battle song!
