Udyr x Nidalee – Valentine Special

The entire world was silent for a day, that day before Friday came around and Udyr collapsed from exhaustion. He tried so hard to work for his family, that he ignored the fact he hadn't gotten any sleep for an entire week. It was one of those days where he had to sleep on the couch because he came home late and didn't want to disturb Nidalee and Annie. The idea of getting sleep was like a dream come true to Udyr.

'Days upon days upon weeks, and countless missed hours of sleep missed. Sometimes I wish I knew what this felt like when I was just training under my master. If I can just sleep for a little bit longer…'

"Wake up, Honey!"

'…You can't be serious. Today is…'

"You can't sleep through Valentine's day, Udyr. We planned this entire day out!" Nidalee pushed him back and forth until he finally decided to get up.

"Ugh…I'll never know what sleep feels like as long as I'm in this family, will I?"

Nidalee kissed Udyr. "You can sleep after we are done with today."

Udyr arose, and got on formal clothes. Nidalee stepped out of the room so she could also change. Udyr looked at himself in the mirror, and he noticed something on the right edge. It was a letter. He took the letter, and opened it. It read:

'Dear Ionian:

I, Queen Ashe of the Freljord, formally invite you to the 20th annual Sweetheart Dance of Runeterra. Every year from around the land we get many couples who join together on this day to unite and remember why they bonded in the first place. I hope to see every one of you here tonight at 7:00.

With Pride,

~ Ashe'

'I don't know why we owe any allegiance to the same tribe that nearly destroyed my kind, but I will accept this invitation.'

Nidalee opened the door, and came in with a beautiful dress on her shoulders. It was blue coated, and tinted with small diamonds. "What do you think of this?"

Udyr was stunned. "That's…that's beautiful."

Nidalee hugged Udyr. "I knew you'd like it. I like what you are wearing too, so we can go whenever you are ready."

Then, there was a knock at their door. Udyr went to the door, and saw that it was Irelia.

"Irelia, what are you doing outside your post?"

"Quiet, Spirit Walker. I have a favor to ask of you."

"What would that be?"

Irelia handed over the exact same letter that Udyr and Nidalee had received. "It seems that nearly every single Ionian has received this letter, but yet Queen Ashe hasn't given us an official response."

Udyr scratched his head. "Are you frustrated no one asked to go with you?"

Irelia's face became red, and she punched Udyr. "I'll have you know I could find someone to go with rather easily if I cared to go, but I wanted you to know in case you had any similar suspicion. They just got rid of Lissandra, so I feel they would be better suited to re-inhabiting the Howling Abyss instead of-"

"Were you going to ask me?"

Irelia's face became even brighter. "S-SHUT UP! I don't have any patience to ask someone like you out."

"Noted; is there anything else you wanted to ask me?"

"Well, I decided to tell the soldiers that you would be…escorting me…to the Freljord, and verify that Ionia won't be targeted. This could easily be a trap, you know."

"I can read you like a book. You don't actually fear for Ionia, you just want to get a day off from the boring job. I don't mind if you asked me, but I need you to know Nidalee wouldn't be too happy."

Irelia turned around, and growled. "I'll kill you one of these days…I want an answer in the next 10 seconds."

"Fine."

"Alright then, be at the port in the next half hour. If you so much as touch me, I won't hesitate in striking you upside the head."

'That Spirit Walker is no ordinary man; I think there's never been someone like him in this place. I hate him, yet I have this weird desire to…be with him. Regardless, I can't get carried away in either retrospect. I haven't forgotten everything that I still owe this land, and Udyr won't stop me from remembering that.'

Udyr and Nidalee proceeded to meet Irelia at the port, where they then went on to the Freljord. Once they got on land, Udyr put his arm around Nidalee.

"It's too damn cold around here in this time of the season. I don't remember it being below 50 when I used to come here."

Irelia was shivering as she followed the two, and gave a look of jealousy at Udyr.

'Hmph, I don't care in the slightest. I have Ionia, and that is all that I need in…this extremely cold life…'

They kept walking for what seemed like hours until they finally reached a stopping point. It was in an old stadium that had been renovated a few months after Lissandra and her Iceborn were taken down. To their surprise, it was the stadium that Ashe had decided to use for the Sweetheart Dance. They were stopped by two men in black asking for their invitations. Udyr and Irelia handed them over, and were taken to a table. They were surrounded by other Ionians, and new civilians to the Freljord. Soon, they heard a voice over a loud speaker:

"Greetings to everyone who has been invited. It is my honor to announce this event, because we haven't held it in 4 years ever since the Ice Witch Lissandra had taken over this part of the Freljord. We have brave warriors here today who have taken part in the long war versus the Ice Witch, but there is one special person that I know is here today that I would like to ask to come to my throne…"

A spotlight came on, and it shined brightly on the table where Udyr and the rest were sitting.

'You've got to be kidding me. How does Ashe know that I am here?'

Ashe got up from her throne. "Spirit Walker, please come forth."

Udyr decided he had no other choice. He went up the aisle to be greeted by Queen Ashe, who was wearing her Heartseeker outfit. "It is my pleasure to see you here today, on this Valentine's Day. You were a great fighter for the Freljord, and I know you have been an even greater fighter in Ionia. Freljord thanks you dearly for putting an end to Avarosan's greatest enemy. However, I must ask of you, who have you brought here today as your wife?"

"My wife is at that table." Udyr pointed out where he was, but the spotlight was over Irelia. She flinched for a second, but was hauled along the aisle by the two men in black. Her face was still red all over.

"My, what a cute couple you two make!"

Irelia tried to get away. "N-No, this is a mistake!"

Udyr put his hand over Irelia's shoulder. "Calm down sweetheart, I don't bite." Udyr laughed, and saw Nidalee in the corner of his eye. She was giving the same death stare that she gave Udyr when they first met, but this was more personal. Udyr knew what he was in for later in the evening. Regardless, Udyr tried to calm Irelia down. He whispered to her:

"Listen Irelia, just take it easy today. You wanted to dance with me, and that's what you got."

"That's not what concerns me, Spirit Walker. Your wife is going to kill us both!"

"She'll be fine." Udyr took one look back, and saw her breaking her spear in half. He decided not to look back again.

Ashe started to walk back to her throne. "It is 7:00, I say it is time we get this dance started, shall we?"

Tryndamere turned off the lights, and turned on the music and more spotlights. Nidalee threw her broken spear to the ground, and rushed straight to the middle, but couldn't get through the crowd to where Udyr and Irelia were dancing. Udyr was calm, but Irelia was nervous. She didn't want to make everyone think that they were together, and she didn't want to be seen by everyone while they were dancing.

"Irelia, do you not want to dance?"

"N-No, but…I just…"

"Calm down, child. No one is going to judge you."

"How dare you call me a child! I should hit you where you stand."

Udyr laughed. "When I left Ionia, I remember you were still a small one, but were very persistent in becoming a true Ionian leader. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to age quite a lot."

"I mean, I do…like you…but you have a wife. I can't take that away from you…and you shouldn't act like this is funny!"

"The only thing that makes it humorous is your reactions. Just relax now, Irelia."

'I wish I could relax. I do have some feelings toward Udyr, but I threw all of them away when I realized that he was just a selfish punk who left Ahri. Even though he is more faithful to Nidalee, I can never forgive him for what he has done. Even now…when I am with him…'

They continued to dance for a while, and then Udyr started to daze off. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them he saw someone for a split second. It was Ahri, and she went to the balcony area. Udyr stopped for a second, and then he wanted to see why she was here all alone.

"Excuse me, Irelia…" Udyr started to walk off until Irelia stopped him.

"Wait."

"What is it?"

Irelia looked at the floor, as she was still shy around Udyr. She kissed Udyr his cheek. "Thanks for the dance, but if you tell anyone about this, you are a dead man."

"Hmph, I see." Udyr smiled, and went on to the outside balcony where he saw Ahri looking out in the distant.

"It's a bit cold to be out here, don't you think?"

Ahri looked over, and was surprised to see Udyr. "Uh…Udyr? You came looking for me?"

"Not exactly, but I wanted to know why you came here."

Ahri looked back. "Ionia gets boring, so I decided to take up on this invitation from Ashe, but to no success. Everyone around here looks at me like I'm a monster…" Ahri sighed. "The worst part is that I don't blame them."

"If you want, you are always open to dance with me." Udyr gave out his hand.

Ahri's eyes opened once again as she turned around. "You would do something so nice for someone who has done you so wrong?"

"You act like you are the devil. Under that lustful heart, you are a normal human, and I trust you."

Ahri hugged Udyr, and they went back inside. Nidalee saw the entire thing from a distant, and broke her already broken spear into fourths, and threw them out the window from which she was looking.

'I'm going to get back at you later tonight, Udyr.'

The night went on and on, but it was soon coming to a stop. Ashe spoke once again:

"Thank you to everyone who has come out on this special night. I would like to end with one last slow dance, and with one particular couple."

A minute later, the spotlight was shined over Ahri and Udyr. Ashe was surprised not to see Irelia.

"Udyr, who is this you are with?"

"Well…she's my-"

Ahri interrupted Udyr before he could finish. "I'm his wife!"

"OH HELL NO!" Nidalee finally broke through the crowd once she heard this. Nidalee's claws sharpened as she growled back at Ahri. "I'm his real wife."

Ashe was curious as to what she was going to do to assess this situation. She was still very confused. "Udyr, do you really have 3 wives? I didn't think you were that kind of person…"

Udyr facepalmed, and tried to get out of this situation. He got out of Ahri's hands, but Ahri stopped him before he could get anywhere.

"All I asked for is this once dance; you aren't getting away from me this time!" Ahri blew a kiss towards Udyr, but Nidalee shoved him to the ground. Instead, Ashe, who was coming over from her throne, was hit with Ahri's charm. She fell to her knees for a second, but got up soon enough. She ran towards Ahri.

"When did you get here, sexy?"

"Eh…no thanks!" Ahri backed up, but got hit by one of Ashe's arrows. She stopped backing up, and walked back towards Ashe. "Actually, I've never felt so right."

The others walked out as the couple intensively made out. Udyr still knew he was in for it once they were outside. Nidalee pinned Udyr up to the outside wall, and slapped him repetitively.

"What did you think you were doing, you dummy?!"

"Come now, Nidalee. Neither Irelia nor Ahri were having a pleasant evening, so I decided to cheer them up. I didn't wish to make you upset or jealous in the long term, but to bring some joy."

Nidalee stopped slapping Udyr for a split second, as she took what he said in. "Really now…"

"They may have gotten one dance with me, but you get to have me for the remainder. Now then, shall we dance?"

Nidalee slapped him one more time. "You still left me, but you did a nice thing. I respect that, Udyr." Nidalee kissed Udyr, and hugged him. "I think it's time, however, that we get out of here. I'm not too adept to this weather."

Both Udyr and Nidalee left at that time, and with them they left Ahri with Ashe. The charm effect only lasted twenty four hours, but until then they were both in their own fantasy world. Udyr and Nidalee got home late, but decided to dance before they both slept. It was, after all, one of the few days that they felt a charm for each other.

'This may be late, but I still hope you will be my valentine.'
