Kat's P.O.V
We drove to the museum to get some answers.
"Well according to the black book the Americans found at Hamunaptra is supposed to bring people back from the dead. " Evie explained as we climbed up the stairs.
"Yeah, 'cos we totally didn't know that. I mean there's only a dead mummy after me and you. " I snap at her. She just shushed me and continued, "Until now, it was a notion I was unwilling to believe."
"Believe it sister. That's what brought our buddy back to life." Rick grumbled.
Evie and I had collaborated idea of what happened and which book did what. "Yeah, we were thinking that maybe that if the black book can bring the dead back to life..." I said trailing off. "Then maybe the gold book can kill him." Rick finished. "That's the myth. Now we just have to find out where the gold book is hidden." Evie said. Then we all started to hear a crowd outside chanting. Specifically chanting Imhotep's name. I swallow thickly.
We all look outside the window, seeing a huge crowd gathering. All the men had boils and sores. "Last but not least, my favorite plague, boils and sores." Jon said.
"They have all become his slaves. So it has begun, the beginning of the end." Ardeth commented.
"Not if we have any say about it." I said with much more confidence than I felt. "Come on." Evie dragged me and Jon to the stone slab.
Both Evie and Dr. Bey were reading different sections of the slab. Jonathan, Rick , Ardeth, Daniels and I were off to the side. "According to Bembridge scholars, The golden Book of Amun-Ra is located inside the statue of Anubis." Evie said. "That's where we found the Black Book." Daniels commented. "Exactly."
"Hmph, so the Bembridge scholars were wrong? Ha! Take that for not accepting Evie!" I nearly yelled. "Calm down, kid."Jon snapped. I just blew a raspberry at him. "Alright sorry." I amended. "They mixed the books up. Mixed up where they were buried. So, if the Black Book is inside the statue of Anubis, then the Golden Book is inside..." Evie trailed off as she continued reading.
We all heard the doors breaking open.
"Come on, Evie, faster!" Jon urged.
"Patience is a virtue." Evie retorted. "One Jon might learn someday." I tried to joke.
"Not right now it isn't!" Rick said with a forced grin.
"Ah! I think I'll go get the car started." Jon said and then practically ran from the room. "I've got it!" Evie said cheerfully. "The golden Book of Amun-Ra is at Hamunaptra inside the statue of Horus. Take that Bembridge scholars!" I nodded and grinned. "Good! Now let's go!" I grabbed Evie's wrist and started running towards the other exit.
"Let's go! Let's go! Let's Go!" Daniels yelled as we all ran towards the car. He was in front of us. "Evie, Kat! Come on, Evie and Kat! Hurry up!" Jon called to us. Unfortunately, Beni decided it was a good time to show up.
"Imhotep! Imhotep! Imhotep!" He called. Imhotep showed up, looking out the window we were at earlier. As he looked down upon us, he let out an bone-chilling roar. I looked up and accidentally made eye contact with him. I shuddered as his intense eyes made me feel he could look into my soul as we drove off. I barely hear Rick howl at Beni. "You're gonna get yours, Beni! You hear me! You're gonna get yours!"
We still have people chasing us, even though right now we are driving through the bazaars. Turns out Imhotep had more slaves then we had thought. Suddenly we stopped and I lurched forward. Raising my head I see a wall of people in front of us. Jon screamed as Rick stepped on his foot.
We started to accelerate and drive through the people. Many got hit out of the way, but some latched on like leaches. We all hit, bit and scratched the people who grabbed on. Rick punched one of the men in the face knocking him down. Evie plunged her fingers into some guy's eye-sockets. I scratched someone in the face and then punched them. Two guys came up from behind Daniels and pulled him back. "Hey, O'Connell! O'Connell!" I had tried to grab on to his hand to keep him here, but I missed by mere inches.
Jon drove us into a water basin for the camels and horses. I flew forward and crashed into Jon. He helped me down and we backed up against one of the bazaars many little shops. We were surrounded. I clutched Evie's and Jon's hands tightly. "It's the creature. He's fully regenerated." Dr. Bey said aloud.
"Keetah mi pharos aja nilo, isirian." Imhotep said, looking towards me. "Come with me my princess. It is time to make you mine, forever." Beni translated. I had understood most of what he said because of Evie's lessons with me. I just blinked at him.
"You are really thick aren't you? It's 'for all eternity,' idiot." I said. Beni looked confused and tried to work it out. I face-palmed.
Although Imhotep seemed to find it amusing as his lips twitched upwards. "Kootash de na... aja nilo."
"Take my hand, and I will spare your friends."
I gulped. "Oh dear." Evie said.
"Please, please, please, tell me you have some really great ideas right about now." I murmured weakly.
"I'm thinking. I'm thinking." Rick whispered back.
"You know if you're trying to comfort me, you really suck at it. You better think of something fast." I said to Rick. Turning to Evie and John I said, "I just want you to know if I get turned into a mummy, I'll protect you guys till the end. Oh, and Rick, I'll come after you if you let them suffer."
"No, Kat! You're not going with him!" Evie snapped.
Tears prickled my eyes. "If I don't go, then he'll harm you guys. I don't want that." I cried. Evie turned to Imhotep.
"You'll get her over my dead body." Beni grumbled something to Imhotep. Imhotep once again spoke to us in Ancient Egyptian, and held out his other hand. This time it was Evie who translated.
"Then you shall also come with us, Nefertiri"
I looked at Evie who looked as panicked as I did. Now he wanted to abduct us both? "Let's just do this okay? I mean shouldn't give the others enough time?" I asked. She nodded slowly. We looked at each other and took a deep breath. She stepped forward first, and then I did.
Rick got out his gun. "No." He said. "Don't!" Evie said as Ardeth said, "No!"
"He still has to take us to Hamunaptra to preform the rituals." I remind them.
"She's right. Live today, fight tomorrow." Ardeth agreed. Evie gave Rick a pointed look, I gave Jon one, and a sad smile. I believe that the only thing keeping me from becoming hysterical is the fact there is a chance we actually get rescued. Rick lifted his torch and waved it at Imhotep.
"I'll be seeing you again."
Imhotep just simply smirked and started to walk away with us in tow. "I apologize, my princess." I hear him murmur to me, just before he orders, "Kill them all!" My eyes widen, and I start to struggle against him.
"No! No! No! Let us go! Let us go! You rat bastard, I'll kill you! Jonathan! Jonathan!" I shriek. I managed to somehow break away, so I started to run, but Imhotep caught me around the waist and growled. I sunk down in sadness, before rising back up, fury flowing through my veins like magma. I beat against Imhotep trying to get him to put me down. I even tried to punch him in the face. He just held on tighter, until I was sure there was going to be bruises. I finally broke down into hysterics. Evie wasn't much better either.
He continued to drag us away until there was no people around, then transformed into the sand being. Although I was being carried off to my most certain doom, it kind of felt...
Comfortable.
Imhotep's P.O.V
I dragged Masika by her arm as we walked away. I couldn't let anyone try to stop me from bringing back part of her soul. We are bonded together for the rest of eternity, even if she doesn't remember our past. She would remember, I will make sure of it. "I apologize, my princess." I murmur to her younger form. I knew how protective of her siblings she was.
"Kill them all!" Her eyes widened, and she started to struggle against my hold. She shrieked in the strange tongue I didn't understand. I tried to get a better holding on her, but she broke away. I grabbed her by the waist and continued on. She seemed to almost retreat into herself in defeat, then rising back up in furious beat against me. I slightly annoyed when she hit me in the face. I gripped her waist tighter. Finally she collapsed into a crying mess. Nefertiri wasn't much better.
Once we were far enough away, I transformed into my sand form and started to travel to toward Hamunaptra to complete the ritual I had started 3000 years earlier.
