Chapter 10

Bella sighed as she walked into her dorm. She was beyond tired but she still had a book report for English, a test to study for in Calculus class and she was meeting the others at the colony house before they went to Nicky's later that night. She and the other two had been more than surprised when the others had decided to go to the local college instead of Salem University. But their reasoning was that until they had stopped Team Evil, as Alex had taken to calling them, they were staying closer to home. They also wanted a more private place for Reid to asend in a couple of days.

That was something that Bella was never looking forward to but after watching Alex and Kyle go through made it something that much more terrifying. She could barely keep it together when Kyle and Alex went through it, she didn't know what she was going to do when she had to watch Reid, Tyler or Angela go through it.

Flinching slightly, Bella remembered just how horrible it had been to watch those two ascensions during their summer.

Flashback

"It'll be ok Bells." Maria said holding onto her tightly. She wanted to believe that but Maria had already gone through this herself and for all Bell knew she could be lying.

"I just want this to be over with already." She said looking up as she heard footsteps. Pouge and Caleb were making their way back towards them from the where Kyle was standing behind the Colony House.

"One more minute till Kyle ascends." Caleb said walking over to Liz. Pouge pulled Maria into a hug when he saw her shaking. Angela had already attached herself to Reid and Tyler had grabbed onto Bella the moment Maria had let go of her, Alex and the parents were behind them waiting.

Bella bit her lip getting more and more freaked out until lighting suddenly struck down and hit Kyle. She jumped and Tyler tightened his hold knowing that there was a possibility that she would run to her cousin. Kyle started screaming when he was lifted into the air and once again struck by lighting again. Bella couldn't watch anymore and turned into Tyler with tears streaming down her cheeks. She hated seeing anyone in pain and it was worse when it was people she was close too.

After a few moments the screaming stopped. Bella heard movement but didn't look, she was trying to get herself under control so she could be there for Kyle.

"Bellsy, Kyle's asking for you." Frank told her quietly. She took a deep breath, stepped back from Tyler and nodded.

She walked with her uncle to one of the rooms in the house. When they stopped at a door Bella walked into the room and saw her cousin laying on the bed. She walked over and was about to sit on the chair that was in the room when she was pulled onto the bed. Turning around she had to fight back more tears when she looked at her cousin.

"Hey, I'm the one that should be crying I was struck by lighting after all." Kyle murmured getting a shaky laugh then a sob from her.

"Sorry, but I can't stand when you guy are in pain and I have to watch the four more times before it's my turn." Bella said curling into him and he wrapped his arms around her.

"You do know that Gorman is going to have to restrain all of us when that happens right?" He asked getting another laugh.

"So how do you feel?" Bella asked quietly.

"A whole lot more powerful." He sighed.

"Just be careful ok?" She asked feeling him nod against her head.

End flashback

Alex's ascension had gone in a similar fashion but he had fainted from the pain making everyone worry about him. Gorman had just said that it was better to go through an ascension unaware.

Sighing, Bella got started on her homework. She was so into her work that she didn't hear her door open or the two people call her name until one of them touched her shoulder. Jumping she pushed whoever was in her room back and blushed when she saw both Pouge and Caleb on either side of her room.

"Are you guys ok?" She asked going and helping them up.

"Damn, you really pack a punch don't you." Caleb groaned rubbing his back.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know that you guys were in here and I kinda freaked out." Bella told them as they went and sat on her bed.

"Its cool Bells." Pouge told her,"At least we know that you can defend yourself."

Bella blushed again, she went and put her homework away before telling the boys that she was going to change quickly and shoved them out of her room. She had picked out dark wash skinny jeans, a black v neck long sleeved shirt and a grey hoodie and a pair of black ankle boots. After she was done she grabbed her wallet, cell phone and room key before leaving the room. When she turned to lock the door Pouge grabbed her key and did it for her while Caleb picked her up and slung her over his shoulder before walking out of the building.

"Caleb put me down!" Bella giggled loudly.

"No can do Belly, we're already running late." Caleb said chuckling before smacking her butt.

"Excuse you." Bella said before doing the same to him, only harder making him jump and almost drop her.

"Alright, you two are gonna end up getting hurt if you keep doing that." Pouge said after he had caught Bella before she face planted.

"Buzzkill." Bella mumbled dodging Pouge when he tried to grab her and hiding behind Caleb who was laughing.

"Watch it, Butterfly." Pouge warned smirking at her.

"No, you watch it Pogo," Bella started, "Or I'll just have to tell everyone about that one time the summer before my fourteenth birthday and you wouldn't want that would you?"

"What happened?" Caleb asked both amused and surprised that Pouge started blushing at what Bella had said.

"Pogo?" Bella asked sweetly.

"Nothing, and you are nothing but evil Butterfly." Pouge said clearing his throat.

"But you love me anyway." Bella said before getting into the back seat of Caleb's car.

"That I do, that I do." Pouge sighed before getting into the passenger seat.

Caleb sighed as well before starting the car and heading for the Colony House. Even though it had been five months since Kate and Pouge had broken up and longer since Edward and Bella had broken up and they still weren't together. He and Liz had gotten together a couple of weeks ago and he couldn't have been happier, and he knew that it they would just admit how much they cared about each other then Bella and Pouge would be happy too.

"Caleb, are you ok?" Bella asked putting her hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah, why?" He asked turning to look at her.

"Because we've been sitting here for five minutes and Reid's making fun of you and you haven't said or done anything." Bella giggled pointing out the front windshield. Turning to look he saw that Reid was in fact making fun of him and rolled his eyes.

"Alright lets go before he starts flashing us." He sighed making Bella giggle even more.

"You spoke to late CareBear." She laughed letting him help her out of the car.

"Pull your damn punts back up Garwin, no one but Maria wants to see that shit." Pouge yelled to him getting laughter from the others and a rude had gesture from Reid.

"You're just jealous Pogo." Reid teased making Pouge smirk.

"Because your as pale as snow ReRe?" Bella asked innocently from Caleb's back.

"Among other things Belly." Reid told her smirking.

"Oh, so they know that you can do that thing with-" Bella began to ask before Reid cut her off.

"NO!" Reid shouted making everyone look at him and Bella gave a Reid worthy smirk.

"Just how many secrets do you have on us?" Pouge asked amused.

"Hey, it isn't my fault that you guys never check a room before you start talking or doing something." Bella shrugged before getting off of Caleb's back and heading inside leaving the others to stare at her with wide eyes.

"You guys do know you're screwed right?" Tyler asked them trying not to laugh.

"No wonder we could never give her a surprise party." Maria said half in awe and half in embarrassment.

"We really should start checking that no one's in a room now, especially with our extra curricular activities." Reid said making the girls blush and the guys balk.

"Wait, you don't think she's ever seen that do you?" Liz asked a little mortified.

"She leaves after you start making out, don't worry." Tyler said laughing when he saw the looks on their faces.

"I don't know who to feel sorry for more, her or us." Maria said looking at avoiding looking at Reid.

"Definitely us." Kyle said a little green at what his cousin could have seen.

Pouge didn't really know what to say, he knew that Bella could figure just about anything out but to know that she could have witnessed him with a girl made him feel guilty. The fact that she knew so much and hadn't told anyone also made him realize that she didn't hold anything against any of them.

"So, we going in or standing around here mortified?" Alex asked casually making the others look at him.
