**Note: Hiya everkitty! :D I'm It Ish Morning o3o, recently the winner of Petalwish's 'Win My Account' contest!

Now, I realize that I will never amount to the success or wonderful writing tasks of the actual Petalwish but I will try my hardest and I hope y'all will stick around for these stories to be updated best to my ability!

Forgive me, reviewers and Petalwish herself, for I am about to use a different style of writing as Petalwish has done; I will be using words like 'meowed', 'padded', and 'whispered'... I just find it easier to write that way, and I'm so sorry if it annoys all of you :(

I apologize deeply if this story becomes confusing. Although I have read all of Petalwish's stories from the moment they began, one by one I know I can never truly know where the plot was going except for the summary... So if this chapter misleads you onto an awkward and dark path of confusion, forgive me.

Without further ado, I present the first update of Warriors: Black And White!

End of Note**

Chapter Seven

"Whitepaw!"

The white she-cat turned at the sound of her name and found Whisperpaw racing towards her, his pale blue eyes lit by fear. The medicine cat apprentice flicked her white tail and blinked slowly at the now panting tom. "I'm guessing you need something?" She asked, twitching an ear.

She waited for the dark brown tom to catch his breath, and once that was finished he began speaking. "Sleetstar... by the border..."

"What about him?" Whitepaw demanded, fear seizing her heart at the mention of her father's name. "Did something happen?"

"We were attacked," Whisperpaw meowed, his tail fluffing out twice it's normal size at the memory. "we all got scratches and things like that, but Sleetstar got the worst of it. He had a whole patrol of SunClan cats round on him. We weren't able to stop our own battles in time to help him."

Whitepaw let out a sharp hiss of aggravation, but knew she couldn't be mad at the warrior apprentice for a fault such as this. Turning into the medicine den, she quickly grabbed the correct amount of the desired herbs and raced out of camp after Whisperpaw.

Blackpaw:

"How in StarClan did this happen?" The powerful black apprentice demanded as he came up to the sight of his bleeding father, who lay beside a hollowed out tree in the heart of HailClan territory. Where's Skystorm and Whitepaw when you need them?

"We've told you, Blackpaw." Batwing meowed simply with a flick of his tail, "SunClan attacked us and we were unable to help him in time."

"So you're just going to let my father die?" Blackpaw hissed, flattening his ears to his head.

"We've sent Whisperpaw to retrieve Skystorm and Whitepaw," Creekblossom meowed calmly. Almost on cue Whisperpaw emerged from the ferns with Whitepaw trailing behind him, several leaf bundles in her jaws. The medicine cat apprentice said nothing to any cat, only settled herself beside her father and began to press herbs into his smaller wounds while chewing others, spitting them out and applying them to larger ones.

"Will he live?" Creekblossom asked after a few moments of silence, listening to Whitepaw's chewing and her applying leaves and other herbs to Sleetstar's pelt.

Whitepaw finished attaching cobweb to the last of his wounds before turning her head to look at the HailClan she-cat. "He will, Creekblossom. You're lucky I came when I did, otherwise my father would have joined our ancestors in StarClan." She then turned to Batwing, Brightdove, Hawktalon, and Briarnose and instructed, "Could you four carry him back to camp and get him settled in Skystorm's den? I'll come and tend to him as soon as I can. Right now he just needs rest, for he should be good for a while, but some cat will have to give him poppy seeds for sleep."

"I will, Whitepaw." Briarnose offered, stepping up beside her fallen leader and allowing Blackpaw and Creekblossom to hoist the large white tom onto her back. The three others that Whitepaw had named soon followed her actions, sharing the weight of their leader in between them all.

The medicine cat apprentice dipped her head in gratitude. "Thank you, Briarnose." she meowed.

As the cats raced in the direction of camp with Sleetstar on their backs and Creekblossom just behind them, Whitepaw gathered all of the unused remedies and herbs back into their desired batches and bundled them up again, rising to her paws to head back to camp to take care of the elder's.

"Not so fast, Whitepaw."

The sound of her brothers harsh voice stopped her in her tracks. Turning yet not having time to notice the white she-cat was pinned against the ground, her brother's face an inch from hers. She writhed and wriggled, trying to escape his fierce grasp, but no matter how much she struggled the pure black tom was stronger than she. At least she knew that much about her brother.

"What do you want, Blackpaw?" Whitepaw asked, her voice shaking with fear yet her eyes bright with determination.

The black tom leaned forward so he could whisper into Whitepaw's ear:

"You will never -I repeat, never- become leader or even deputy. Mother and Father know that and so do I. Why can't you just accept the fact that you're not as strong as you think?" He let out a small chuckle before hopping off of her and then proceeded back in the direction of camp without another word.

Whitepaw rose to her paws and stared after her brother in horror and anger. I won't let him get to me... He's just catching my tail, making me distracted from my duties...

And as she padded back in the direction of camp, one thought constantly rang in her mind:

I will become Whitestar, Blackpaw. Just you watch.
