I had a huge author's block with this story and for a long, long time I didn't know where I wanted to go with this. And for that I apologize with all the followers. I'm really sorry.

Now I have the story basically ready. I know where to go, how to go and how it ends but I wanna know if someone is still interested in read this. So here is a small chapter.

When Bulma arrived that evening at Aya's house she and Akira were finishing with dinner. Exhausted, she left her purse on the couch and took a moment before meet with her friend and fiance.

She was still thinking about Vegeta. When she saw him on that stairs talking with Astrid. Bulma couldn't help the feeling that she acted wrong. Should I have greeted him? But what would I say? What if he saw me? No… he didn't. He would have said something if he saw me… Unless he's feeling just like I am. I shouldn't have left like the Palace was on fire… I should have done something… What if I never see him again…

Bulma was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize her fiancé and friend were in front of her telling her something.

"…it was so fun, right Akira?"

"you should have seen it Bulma" agreed the man.

Just then, Bulma realized the presence of them. "What?" she asked?

Akira laughs a little but Aya made an angry face. "I can't believe that you weren't listen to a word of what we said". Spoke Aya annoyed.

"Don't take it too personal Aya, she is like that when something is bothering her at work…" he said in an amusement voice. "I could swear that's all she thinks about". He laugh.

Bulma gave him a little smile. "So.. what's for dinner?"

After finishing his meetings for the day, Vegeta decided to go out for a while. On his way out of the palace, he avoided meeting with anyone who could delay him. He just wanted a moment of peace and flying around really help him sometimes. He was flying above the city with no particular destiny in mind.

Why didn't she came? He couldn't get Bulma off his mind after seen her this afternoon. I'm sure she knew I was there… why didn't she came to talk to me?

He was flying over a distant neighborhood of the capital when he felt something familiar. Vegeta stop and decided to search a little more careful. It's her. I know it is.

It took him a while but finally found it. The house was small, although it has two floors but with a big back garden. The night was dark; the lights of the garden and of the house were off, except for a light of what it seems to be the living room. He decided to wait a little more; he could feel Bulma's ki inside. It didn't take long when a figure went to the garden porch.

Even though it was very dark, he was trained to be able to see a little in situations like this. Freeza make sure of that. She came out of the house, and Vegeta was able to see her better now. He didn't think she could be more beautiful then what he remembered. Clearly, he was wrong. She had grown to be even more beautiful. He remember her as a young teenager and now seen her as a woman… he had to control himself not to go there right now and stay in silence just watching her for a moment deciding what to do and how to approach her.

They spend the rest of the evening talking about the day, or sharing funny stories. It was the last day of Akira at the Capital. After dinner Bulma went to Aya's porch to enjoy the cold night, she sat there alone for a moment until minutes later Akira came to join her

"Tomorrow, I will leave early in the morning" he said sitting close to her.

"I'm sorry I have to stay," she said getting closer to him and welcoming his warm body.

"hey.. It's your job… besides, I will be here every weekend" he hold her closer and gave her a sweet kiss on top of her head. "Uhn…? What was that?" He said getting up and searching for something in the garden. It was a dark night, so he could barely see it right, especially next to the trees.

"What is it?" Bulma asked but he didn't answer. "Do you want me to get the lights on?"

"No… It's nothing," he said still felling uneasy. "I just thought that I felt something" He was still looking at the garden, "come on, let's go inside, it's getting late and I need to get up early tomorrow".

Bulma follow him inside, unaware of two very angry black eyes were watching them.

He saw as Bulma sat on the porch with a man close to her. Too close for my taste.

They seem to get along very well. Vegeta was trying to suppress his anger when Bulma maker herself closer to the guy but it was nearly impossible when the guy decided to hold her closer and kissed her. He let some of his Ki out and the guy realize that. Luckily, the man didn't found him.

The King waited until they were inside again and storm off.

So this is why she didn't came. I wait for her to come when she came back… she never did. Not even a message. She moved on… That's why she stop talking to me.

He needed to get his anger out. It's been a long time since he felt this way. He went back to the Palace and decided to spend the rest of the night training. He need to calm himself.

Hours after Vegeta started training, he finally succumb due to exhaustion. He laid at the ground of the gym. It wasn't fair. Bulma was the only woman, the only person, that he felt comfortable with. When the Consul started to demand him to find a mate he had to admit that he secretly wanted her by his side even though he knows all the consequences that they would have to face because she is an earthling.

But she had moved on. For what he saw it wasn't just a fling. Hell, he certainly couldn't blame her for that since they never became serious, and he had his fair amount of women too. But no, what Bulma has with that guy was beyond that, it was a relationship. And it looks like a very solid one.

And of course, he couldn't ignore the fact that she been here for weeks and haven't try to talk to him. She moved on. It's time for me to do the same. He decided ignoring the ache that his decision made him feel. He was a King, he needed to be practical and that's what he was going to do from now on.

He look out the window and saw the sun rising. Vegeta get up from the floor and went to take a shower. He had many things to deal with today.

After saying good-bye to Akira, Bulma decided to go to her lab to get some work done. The sooner she finish this, the sooner she could go home and be with Akira again.

She was getting her materials ready when the General opened her door.

"Miss Briefs, I couldn't help but notice that you came earlier today". He spoke seriously.

"I still have a lot of work to be done, don't I?"

"That you do. About your report, do you have any prototype ready so I present it to the Consul and the King?"

Bulma look at him for a few seconds.

"Well, I guess", she spoke walking for the table next to her to grab what he wanted. It was a prototype of a new weapon and suit, along with blueprints for the new ships. "But I'm still working on these, but I guess it's presentable".

"I'll take those". Spoke the General. At that moment a soldier entered the room.

"Excuse General" spoke the young soldier. "Our intelligence wants to speak with you".

"I'm busy right now soldier".

"It's about the box's code sir".

Bulma narrowed her eye at that information. What box? What code? She questioned curious even though she knew she couldn't know the answer nor ask the General out loud.

"I'll be right there" spoke the General. "I will take this with me Miss Briefs". He took the prototype and the blueprint and left the room.

Bulma was alone still curious about what the soldier was saying. After a few moments she told herself that she wasn't going to get any answers. Come on. It's the militaries. Not the most open and transparent organization in the world. So she went back to work.

By the end of the day Bulma was getting ready to go home and leave the base when she met with that, way too friendly soldier, again, Kakarot.

"Hey Bulma!" he greet her happily.

"Good evening Kakarot". She smile at him.

"I was looking for you. Here". He gave her a white envelope with the Royal Family's symbol on.

"what it this?" She questioned already opening the envelope. Inside there was a thick paper also with the Royal Symbol engraved.

"Invitations from the Ball that's going to happen. You and a plus one". She showed her the small cards clipped at the lateral of the paper.

"why I'm being invaded for this?"

"Most of the high soldiers and agents that worked at the base were. I guess they consider you one of the high one. It make sense though, you are the one that design our equipment's".

She couldn't disagree with him. It did kind make sense. But still… she didn't wanted to go, but it's not like you can refuse it without a very good excuse. At least Akira would be there with her. After she considered that, Bulma couldn't decided if his presence make it batter or worse. It's Akira in a party where Vegeta will be there. How should she behave at this? Bulma decided it was the best not to worry about this right now and followed the younger soldier.

She was walking at the base seeing the soldiers training here and there and listening to Kakarot's complain about how nobody from his family, with the exception of his father, got the invitation when she saw the General again, and he wasn't alone. Next to him dressed in a black suit, imposing as he always has been, was the man that wasn't leaving her mind these last days. She could see him better now. He was just gorgeous! He still had that arrogant but strangely comforting aura with him.

Vegeta was looking at her blueprints and still talking to the General when a movement catches his eyes. He moved his head a little and his dark black eyes met her blue navy ones.

Bulma could swear that time had stop at that moment. They hold their gaze for what it seems to be forever. The world around her became irrelevant. Maybe now was the time. She thought and let out a smile and greeted him shyly with her hand.

Vegeta was looking at her half listening to whatever nonsense the General was speaking.

If he thought that she was beautiful last night, seeing her now at the daylight dressed with a casual but at the same time professional dress, she look like a goddess.

My god! She is beautiful! He thought feeling the need to get close to her, to talk to her, to kiss her…

But then he remembered the kiss she shared with her boyfriend last night. No. he already had made a decision. He decided to move on and put an end at those teenager feelings.

He saw as she gave him a smile and shyly wave her hand at him. He frowned and decided to break eye contact and look back at the General making a sign for them to get inside the building.

As they walk, he briefly look at her again and saw confusion and hurt in her eyes. He also decided to ignore what that look made him feel and follow the General in the building.
