Aboard the Avalon, communications were running rampant as distress calls came in from every nearby country under Britannia's thumb. Schneizel tapped his finger against the arm of his chair while he cupped his chin in the palm of his other hand. "Well played Lelouch," he said almost proud of the move he had made. A small smile crept across his face as he imagined this as his ultimate move on the chess board, one that didn't necessarily move a single piece into a powerful position but one that nonetheless forced the opponent to look at every out they had available.

"My Lord, where should we go?" asked Kanon as he looked towards the Prince for guidance.

Schneizel's finger tapped the chair three more times before coming to a stop, a calculating plot forming in his mind. "Set a course for Pendragon," he declared and while many of the staff aboard the Avalon questioned his decision none spoke against it as they began to plot a course for the capitol of Britannia. The second prince however was in a deep state of thought, knowing full well that if everything went right he could kill two birds with one stone. If two birds were too difficult however he would suffice with one.

There would always be other opportunities.

"I want the parameters around the school enforced," instructed Milly over the school intercom. All of them had watched what had happened to the former vice president of the school council and there was mass panic as a result of both what had happened to him and the aftermath that had followed. Milly had taken charge, rushing to the nearest place that she could broadcast her voice since she feared what would soon be happening. "Use any wood you can find and board up the windows and doors, break the tables and chairs if you have to. Create a blockade at the front of the gymnasium doors, I don't want anybody to be able to get through the biggest entrance we have."

"Milly, what are you doing?" asked Nina, the girl seemingly having gone several shades paler after watching what had happened to Lelouch.

Milly sighed and turned off the intercom before turning towards the shy girl. "We're going to turn the school into a stronghold," she explained. "Once we have created safe perimeters I'm going to send a broadcast out as far as I can letting anybody who doesn't wish to fight know that they can find sanctuary within the school walls. I've gotten in contact with Rivalz and he's currently driving around with a megaphone and relaying my message. He text back a while ago and said that there's a number of women and children shoving anything of personal value into duffel bags and are on their way now, we need to be ready for when they get here."

"I...understand," said Nina softly before Milly placed a hand on her shoulder and looked her directly in the eyes.

"There's something that I need you and you alone to do as well," said Milly sternly. "I need you to get the Ganymede in the basement prepped and ready to move at a moment's notice, I can create the stronghold but I need someone to protect it. Can you do this for me?"

Nina's breathing rate increased understanding what was being asked of her. On the off chance that the school became the target of attack, it would be up to her and her alone to defend it from whatever came their way. In such a time of chaos it was understandable that there would be sick and twisted people who would want to target them and if they broke through the defenses there was very little that they could do in order to protect themselves.

Her nerves solidified however as she wondered what Princess Euphemia would do if given such an important task. Even at the risk of her own life, she had to do her absolute best in order to ensure that everybody locked within the confines of the school was safe. Nodding her head in understanding she moved away from Milly's concerned touch and exited the room before running through the corridors, dodging panicking students as she did so. This was by far both the bravest and the stupidest thing the scientific teenager had ever done but she knew that the princess would do what was needed of her and with her resolve solidified she would to.

"It's okay, I know them," assured Suzaku to the guards who were currently restraining his classmates and fellow members of the school council. The two security guards looked at one another before nodding in understanding. While Suzaku didn't really have any real power to their knowledge they did know that he had entered the building a couple of days ago in Captain Darlton's company with Princess Nunnally. Even though he was just a Honorary Brittanian he had some very powerful allies and it would probably be best not to get on their bad side. Releasing their grip on both Shirley and Kallen they stepped away before returning to their post lest anybody else try and get inside the government compound unannounced.

"Thanks," said Kallen as she rubbed her wrists. While she could have easily broken free of their grips she didn't really want to enter such a highly guarded building as an enemy as opposed to just a Britannian teenager.

"What are you two doing here?" asked Suzaku trying to shake off his shock.

"We...we were in the crowd...and we watched Lulu..." said Shirley in a very broken matter.

"Don't say it," said Suzaku knowing how hard it would be for Shirley to have watched her love interest die before her. While he didn't truly know just how the orange haired girl felt he knew there was at least something there. "Look, you can probably hold up here for a while but you'll if an opportunity comes to get out of the city and somewhere safe do it. I'd offer a place with Nunnally on board the helicopter but I really don't know how the General Governor would react and I can't really make such decisions without the proper authority."

"Then they can join me then," stated a newcomer causing Shirley's eyes to go wide at just who she was looking at.

"Princess Euphemia!" she exclaimed recognizing the pink haired princess immediately.

"If you two would like, could you please escort me to the helicopter upon the top floor," said Euphemia speaking directly to Kallen and Shirley. "I'm sure Nunnally would love to hear your voices."

"Umm...of course," said Shirley regaining her composure.

"On the way, could you please tell me what it was like, living with Lelouch each day was like?" asked Euphy, her voice a mixture of curiosity and sadness.

Swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat, Shirley nodded without the courage to say any words. Kallen however, was not so happy to comply. "With all due respect," she said with a small bow, "I must decline." Everyone blinked at her response before she continued, "There is something I must do."

"But it's dangerous," said Suzaku concerned about Kallen's well being. He knew how many days she took off of school because of her health but now that he thought about it she didn't seem like the girl he saw in class day in and day out. She was a lot more focused and composed, her back upright and her eyes sharp in a display that showed that she was more than capable of taking care of herself.

"It doesn't matter," she said before she turned her back on the group. "Farewell."

Euphemia and Suzaku were silent as they wondered just what was going through Kallen's head as it seemed like suicide more than anything to head back out into the riot zone. Shirley however clenched her lips tightly together so that she didn't say anything that would link Kallen back to the Black Knights. She was well aware that her friend was likely on her way to help the rest of the squad that Lelouch had created but considering what was going on she couldn't help but wonder just what their cause now was.

"Kallen," she said softly hoping that her friend wouldn't do anything too reckless but more importantly that she would come back to them unharmed.

Rivalz skidded to a stop as he looked at the crowd in front of him, all of them shouting their hate and rage for the country. While the majority of them were natives of Area Eleven there were definitely some Britannians mixed in with them, whether fighting out of self preservation or because they believed in the same cause he wasn't sure. He had driven out to the edge of what could theoretically be deemed the safe area and with the military spread so thin it had been easy to drive through back alleys to look at just what would be coming towards the heart of the city. Needless to say that he was afraid of what he saw.

"Lelouch, what have you done?" he said to nobody in particular as he saw someone smash the front windscreen of a car parked on the street. From what he could imagine, those of higher society would be avoiding the fighting through any means necessary. The Britannians on the lower half of the scale however were likely seeing this as a revolution where they could make a difference. It was true that there was a vast difference from the top of the corporate ladder to the bottom but everybody had seemingly been fine with that, at least they had been on the surface.

Revving his motorcycle, Rivalz took to the road once again praying that the carnage behind him would not make it's way to the school grounds.
