Chapter 10

I wanted to let you all know that I was holding off on releasing this chapter for reasons of my own. But I will go ahead and state this, I will not tolerate inappropriate Comments on my stories, if you want to post honest opinions on my stories, fine, but do in an appropriate and intelligent matter.

I don't really have much else to say so I will go straight into the story.

(Gumball POV)

I woke up the next morning and got ready for the day, it was Sunday, so there I didn't have to go to school. I went downstairs and sawDarwin Watching Television with dad as usual. He turned around and actually smiled when he saw me.

I smiled back at him and got to the bottom of the stairs, before going over to the couch.

"I want to talk to you, but maybe you should eat something first." He told me.

I agreed and headed into the Kitchen, it appeared I was going to eat cereal today, unfortunately, as Mom had to work an emergency shift today.

After eating, I put the bowl in the sink and went back to the couch next to Darwin. We both sat in silence until Dad went out back to do who knows what.

"So, about yesterday, I wanted to let you know that we are going to confront Tobias today at the mall with Penny." He told me.

"What," I started, "You can't be serious, Darwin, he will try to attack me again!" I shouted, shocked at the statement.

"I seriously doubt that, especially with me and Penny around, but if you really think so, then just stay out of sight until I let you know." He responded.

"Are you sure, I don't know, do you think that would really work?" I asked uneasily.

"Well, we don't have time for this. Are you coming or not?" He sighed, getting irritated.

I nodded and followed him out the door. Deep inside I was really happy, for the first time, me and Darwin were out doing something together. Sure, I could tell he was still uncomfortable about it, but it still felt like the old times anyway.

We walked in silence all the way to the mall and met Penny outside, she smiled when she saw us.

"Hey Gumball, hey Darwin, you guy's ready to head on in?" She asked us.

"I suggested that Gumball stay out of sight until I give him the okay, but yeah, we're ready." Darwin Answered her.

Darwin and Penny headed inside and started towards he food court. I followed quietly behind and at a distance. I saw them go over and sit down to talk with Tobias, he looked shocked to see them, but eventually put on his victim face. He was going to try to win them over to his side again. I sneaked up behind someone and got close enough that I could hear them, but not enough so that Tobias sees me.

"What are you guy's doing here?" I heard Tobias asking.

"I think you know why we are here Tobias, it's about yesterday." Penny responded unemotionally.

"Oh come on guys, you don't seriously believe that lying jerk over me. I mean come on, look at everything he's done." Tobias pleaded to them.

"Tobias, I saw what happened, I saw you knock Gumball down and start hurting him. I came here to figure out why and if by some chance you had any regret for doing it, but you clearly haven't, so we are going to leave!" She yelled at him, getting back up with Darwin and starting to walk away.

"Wait!" He shouted, they turned around towards him, "I do feel bad about hitting him, but I'm not sorry, he insulted me!" Tobias continued to scream.

"I don't care what he said to you, hitting someone isn't okay Tobias, no matter who it is." Darwin retorted.

"And you're going to sit there and say that you care about him, after everything he did to you?" Tobias Questioned Darwin.

"You know what, yes, I do care about him. I had enough time to think about it and you know what, I'm not angry anymore. Now if you'll excuse me, I have something to do!" Darwin yelled at Tobias and stormed off.

I hurried up and ran back to where I was supposed to meet him. I could tell he saw me, because his expression changed back to one of a mix of anger and sadness.

"I guess you heard everything back there didn't you?" He asked me.

"Yeah I did, Darwin I'm not lying, everything I told you is the truth." I responded.

"It's fine, Gumball, I had time to think about everything that happened and I wanted to let you know I'm willing to give you another chance. But I need you to promise me something."

"Anything Darwin, just say it and I'll do it!" I yelled in happiness.

"I want you to promise me you will never take advantage of me again. And if I ever have something to say, I hope you will listen to me." He said to me.

I agreed and ran and hugged him, after everything that had happened, Darwin had forgiven me. I couldn't believe it, but I couldn't be happier.

"Darwin, I'm sorry for everything I did, and from now on, if you ever feel down, I promise I will listen." I said, trying not to cry, though I knew I would later tonight.

We stopped hugging and sat in the mall for what felt like a half hour before Penny joined us. The three of us headed outside and started on our way home. The entire way, we smiled and joked around like nothing had ever happened at all. When we got to Penny's house, she actually hugged me and smiled.

"Gumball, I wanted to let you know I'm ready for another try at our relationship, if you want to." She told me.

"I'd love to, how about we go out tomorrow, sound good to you?" I asked her.

"All right, meet me at that new place in the mall at six, I'll see you guys later." She answered, heading inside.

I turned back to Darwin who was standing around smiling and shaking his head.

"You're all right with me going out tomorrow right, I don't want to leave you alone already?" I asked.

"Dude, it's fine, I'm glad you guys are getting back together." He smiled and nudged me.

"Well, how about we head home, I'm sure everybody's wondering where we went." I laughed as I spoke.

He smiled and nodded his head and we both walked home together, Friends once more.

Before you ask, no this is not the end of this story. I decided to change my mind once again and release the final chapter in two parts so that it isn't so long. The final chapter will be out within the next few days.

For those of you looking for a fight I promised, I just couldn't bring myself to pit these two against one another. I had a tough choice, but eventually I choose to make them make up again.
