"She's perfect," I cried, and started rocking her gently. She yawned, and I placed her back in Ben's arms, gently tucking in the blanket under her chin.

June 2022
Songs used: "Falling Over Me" – Demi Lovato
"Forgiveness and Love"- Miley Cyrus
I do not own Twilight.
Edward got called in by his friend Vanessa E to sing a duet with her for her album.
I was excited to see him sing with someone other than me. Not that I didn't love to sing with my husband, but I wanted him to have every opportunity in the music industry. I felt this was another good opportunity for him.
So, he packed his bag to catch a flight to California to Vanessa E's studio.
Who you are is falling over me
(Who you are is falling over me)
Who you are is everything I need
(Who you are is everything I need)
I'm hoping
I'm waiting
I'm praying you are the one
I'm hoping
I'm waiting
I'm praying you are the one
That song led to him doing a few more duets with other artists.
One of them being Tanya.
"You don't have to do this, you know," I told him when he came back home 2 weeks later. "No one is forcing you."
He nodded. "I know."
"Are you still mad at her? Like, do you hate her or anything?"
"No, I don't hate her. I'm happy that she's doing well. What happened was a long time ago, but it still feels weird to be around her."
"Well, that's normal. She was your first…"
"Yeah, she was."
I looked down. I didn't feel jealous or anything because she was Edward's first for everything. It just felt odd that she would want to see him now, after all this time. Edward lifted my chin with his fingers, interrupting my thoughts.
"She may have been my first, but you are my last. My everything," he said.
I smiled, my eyes getting misty. I laid my head on his shoulder, and he kissed my hair.
"Would it be weird if I came with you? Just for support?" I asked.
"Sure, just don't start any fights again," he chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

When we drove to the studio, there was a camera crew setting up. Tanya, Edward, and I had all agreed to do a recorded video of them making the song, instead of an actual music video. We stepped over the many wires on the carpet floor and finally met Tanya.
She cut her long, curly red hair into a short bob, and she looked less angry and tense than all those years ago. She surprised me by giving me a hug when we first walked in. Shocked, I patted her back and smiled. She hugged Edward too, but he wasn't weirded out. He threw me a quick smile, let her go, and they got right to work. I sat down on the studio sofa and watched my husband hook himself up in the soundbooth.
Tanya started a conversation with him, and he shook his head, smiling. He glanced at me, and back at her, and kept talking.
I wanted to push the button so I could hear their conversation, but I trusted Edward not to do anything. I worried about Tanya a little, because she made me think of all of the bad memories of high school. But I didn't hate her. I let all of that behind me in rehab. Edward was married to me at the end of the day.

Imagining you're far away
Just searching for the words to say
I feel it when you fall apart
Our lives are our greatest art
I don't wanna change your mind
'Cause I accept you for everything you are and will be
Stay here with me now
The only thing that our hearts are made of
Are the acts of forgiveness and love
The only thing real when push comes to shove
Are the acts of forgiveness and love
'Cause in the end no one loses or wins
The story begins again and again
With forgiveness and love
Let's jump the sun
Let's find forever
Where does the time go?
Just live your life
You'll get another today, today, today
Forgiveness and love
'Cause in the end no one loses or wins
The story begins again and again
With forgiveness and love
Let's jump the sun... [fade to end]

After recording was done, they went through it a few more times just to get the flow of the song going. They went over it so many times that by the time we came home, it was dark outside.
"So, how was it?" I asked as we were getting ready for bed.
"It was," he sighed and took a minute to think it over, "good. It was nice. Helped clear the air on some things. She asked if you were weirded out by all of it, and I said no."
"Is that why you were laughing?" I smiled.
"Yeah, it just made me think of our talk last night." He smiled back.
"So, you guys are okay?"
"Yeah, we're ok, good actually. No animosity whatsoever." He said, bringing me close and giving me a kiss.
"Good. She looked good," I smiled against his lips.
He smiled and started kissing down my neck, "Okay, I don't want to talk about her anymore."
"Okay," I giggled.
