I'm so sorry for the late update! Please don't kill me *hides behind sofa*
"Keeping promises is a big deal isn't it?", Sachiko said. That was the last thing Ayumi heard before she blacked out, feeling the thick splintery rope throb her skin and the object stuck on her throat still blocking her airhole.
"Shinozaki?"
Ayumi heard Yoshiki's voice. Her eyes were still shut but her heart pounded and filled with fear. She thought of weird stuff like the spirits was deceiving her by using Yoshiki's voice. Clearly, Sachiko was torturing her.
"Shinozaki"
She heard her voice be called again but firmly. She felt someone's warm hand land on her arm and she shook it off while opening her eyes and standing quickly, smacking the hand out of it's touch of her. "Get away!", she screamed while she heard someone call softly out in pain and she heard it behind her. She noticed her body turned back from it and she also saw white wallpaper and fresh air. She turned her body and saw Yoshiki shaking his hand as if he was shaking off the pain. Ayumi gasped when she saw him and kept scooting her body backwards. Yoshiki stared at her in confusement as she exclaimed, "No, S-stay away!". Yoshiki was confused and his facial expression showed danger. He looked worried as he slowly walked closer to her.
"No!", Ayumi screamed as she reached for the chalk and threw it towards Yoshiki. It was a short throw and it didn't even touch Yoshiki's body. It instead splattered on the ground as Ayumi's body shook. She knew she was in danger. This wasn't the real world, it's just deceiving her. Sachiko is deceiving her. "Sachiko's deceiving me", Ayumi suddenly called out as Yoshiki cocked his head to the side, "Sachiko? Who's Sachiko?". His reply made Ayumi's eyes grow wide as she screamed, "You don't remember? Heavenly Host… Seiko!". Yoshiki shook his head, "Never heard of both". Ayumi was gonna scream at him more until Naomi and the others came in.
"What are you guys doing? It's almost time for class!". Naomi exclaimed as she smacked her books on her desk. Ayumi rushed towards Naomi which gave her a little scare. "Naomi! You remember Seiko right?", Ayumi asked in hope. Naomi stared at Ayumi like she was a psycho and shrugged. Ayumi grabbed Naomi's shoulder and forced her to look directly at her. "Then what about ? She was our homeroom teacher!", Ayumi continued as the other still continued to stare at her.
"What do you mean?". Ayumi heard someone's voice and turned to see Ms. Shui. "I was your homeroom teacher from the start", Ms. Shui continued while showing Ayumi her smile. She noticed the rest of her classmates were in the room with her as well as she wondered when did they get there?
Ayumi knew something was wrong, terribly wrong. Her friends wouldn't be the people to suddenly forget about Seiko. As Ms. Shui taught the lesson, she noticed her voice was dull and robotic. Her eyes were wide open and didn't blink a single time, and if they did they would blink slowly with wide scary smiles. She kept tapping the chalk on the board as she made little annoying clank sounds with it. Her other hand dropped the book and went on top of the board as she slowly dragged her nails down. Ayumi winced at the sound but the others just smiled widely. Now she knew something wasn't right; this wasn't the real world, this is one of Sachiko's game.
Ayumi saw Ms. Shui, or should she say the fake Ms. Shui introduce a new student with jet black hair falling long down her waist. She couldn't see her eyes but she noticed her red dress. Her pale figure made Ayumi feel electrified as her body shook with fear.
Sachiko was here.
She didn't know if Sachiko was in the real world with her or made a fake world with cloned people she loved or cared for. Ms. Shui announced that her name was Sachiko and Sachiko suddenly raised her head. Her empty black eyes stared back at Ayumi as she cracked a wide hideous smile at Ayumi. Ayumi flinced as her heart pounded with fear. She didn't want Sachiko to be at the same room as her. Sachiko walked over next to Ayumi and stared at the boy next to her. She kept eyeing him until he was blown towards the window and out. She heard a loud scream and crash as she hear something splatter at the ground. There was no way someone can die from a second floor, unless they land….. head first?
Ayumi glared back at Sachiko from the window and Sachiko wickedly smiled back at her. That guy was usually her normal partner from her school. Sachiko grabbed the chair and sat slowly, staring at Ms. Shui who taught lifelessly.
"Why are you doing this?", Ayumi whispered at Sachiko with anger but her eyes still staring forward. She heard Sachiko's whisky laugh as she shook her head. She didn't get enough of the answer for her to understand. She quickly stared at Ms. Shui before turning towards Sachiko and whispering a little louder, "Stop it right now!". Sachiko this time laughed out loudly. Ayumi glanced to see if anyone was staring at them, or if Ms. Shui was giving them the look. Surprisingly, nobody stared back and Ms. Shui, who usually would give them the look and scold them, just kept on teaching their nonsense lesson.
Ayumi learned one thing from this: This wasn't the real world. Or either it was Sachiko controlling over the real world people. Ayumi kept beaming questions and threatened Sachiko. "I have to go back or else I'll be stuck at your stinky haunted mansion, you hear her? Take me back! This is isn't the real world, I know!", Ayumi continued as Sachiko just crossed her arms and leaned her head towards the left a little while still looking forward. Sachiko suddenly raised her hand which made Ayumi frantic.
Ms. Shui suddenly turned around with blank eyes as Sachiko announced, "Ayumi is threatening me". Ayumi tried to agrue back about it but Ms. Shui took out a bamboo stick and made Ayumi face the wall on the corner. Ms. Shui walked over to Ayumi when Ayumi turned and stared at the corner and Ms. Shui whacked the stick on the back of Ayumi's legs.
Ayumi winced in pain and whenever she yelped, Ms. Shui would smack her harder. She kept quiet and tried to ignore the pain until Ms. Shui felt satisfied, or Sachiko felt satisfied and ordered Ms. Shui to stop.
Ayumi finally stopped feeling the pain of the stick being whacked against her leg, and the burning sensation took over. She heard Ms. Shui go back to her desk and ordered, "Get your book and stand back on the corner".
Ayumi glared at Sachiko and tried to walk but her legs failed her and fell to the ground. She thought one of her classmates or Ms. Shui would help her, but then she forgot that this was Sachiko's world. Ms. Shui just continued to teach as the others didn't even bother to stare at Ayumi and send her 'are you ok?' eye sights. They just simply stared at Ms. Shui.
Ayumi unbelievably tried to stand up but her legs pulled her down and her elbows felt weak as they smacked down on the ground. She heard Ms. Shui yell at her to get up and she glared at Sachiko. She knew Sachiko was forcing Ms. Shui to do those things, and suddenly Ayumi felt something painful smack against the back of her leg again. She screamed in pain as she felt her own tears automatically come out.
She heard Ms. Shui start to end the stupid lesson as Ayumi tried to get up. Ayumi felt no pain behind her legs and she automatically stared at Sachiko. Sachiko flashed her smile. Ayumi frowned.
Ayumi heard the bell ring, announcing the end of the period. Ayumi hoped it was the last period bell but that wouldn't be possible; school just started. Even though the bell rung, Ms. Shui just continued the lesson, other students didn't even seem bothered by it as well. They just put on their creepy smile and stared at the board. Ayumi looked at the board that showed what the next subject should be. It showed teacher's choice. Since when did they even had a teacher's choice? This was definitely not her world, and she can prove it.
"Hey," Ayumi whispered to the person behind her. Sachiko didn't seem interested in what she was planning to do. Feeling relieved, Ayumi continued, "Hey, since when was it teacher's choice?". The student behind her, which looked like a male but he seemed to have breasts but they were small so she considered him/her transgender. Hesitantly, she didn't know what to call the student; she or he? She just suggested to tap him on the shoulder and she reached out her hand and poked it but her eyes widen.
She couldn't touch him.
She tried again, but this time she tried to slap his shoulder. She went through him and her lungs screamed. She wanted to scream out loud but she was too afraid to get in trouble by the teacher, to be specific, to Sachiko. She waved her hand through the student next to the transgender and she gulped slowly. She glared back at Sachiko, who smiled but was still facing forward.
"Let me go" Ayumi pleaded. Sachiko seemed satisfied, as she continued to ignore Ayumi. Ayumi hated this game. She hated that Sachiko had the feeling of satisfaction and Ayumi had the urge to smack Sachiko, but she knew things would get worse. Ayumi lowered her head, making her hair cover her eyes as she pleaded softly, "Let me go, I'll do anything you want me to". Sachiko this time glanced at Ayumi with a satisfied face. "Anything" Sachiko whispered. Ayumi closed her eyes and nodded, "Anything" She echoed back.
Ayumi suddenly felt the room's air feel tense as she looked around. The students and Ms. Shui froze in place and the only moving people were Ayumi and Sachiko. Sachiko kept quiet for a few second before exclaiming, "Die". Ayumi faced Sachiko and her heart was pounding. She wondered if Sachiko was saying that towards her, until she noticed bubbling noises and high screaming noises slowly turning low as the bubbling noise screeched louder. She stared at Ms. Shui who was melting. Exactly what I said, melting. Her skin became to melt first as it turned into black bubbles that turned into ashes as it reached down her body. Her bones were melting too, but they strangely dissolved in thin air. Ayumi looked around the room and she gasped; everyone else was changing like Ms. Shui.
"You don't mind do you?" Sachiko suddenly asked Ayumi as she circled her fingered and motions the cremated bones and flesh move towards them. Ayumi flinched at first as some of the ashes touched her feet. Ayumi now noticed her bare feet and raised her feet in disgust while dusting out the ashes. The ashes began to rise up and dissolve as it flew in circles before it dissolved.
Yoshiki stopped Satoshi from gently pushing him towards the door. "Then do you guys remember Seiko?"
Everyone became quiet as Yoshiki waited for answers. He eyed them suspiciously and was surprised when he saw their faces. It showed hesitance and a little bit of sadness for a quick blink of a second before they turned into their natural smiling faces. "Never heard of her" was the first reply as the others agreed to the statement.
"Tell us how she looked like", Satoshi asked as Yoshiki swallowed slowly and opened his mouth to speak, but no voice came out. At the same time he felt a sour taste fill his mouth as the air grew heavy. He pondered at the thought of it for awhile before staring back at his classmates again. He tried to get the words together to describe Seiko, but somehow he forgot about her. Or was it even a her? It sounded like a girl's name, it should be a girl. He looked at the class shamefully and said, "I don't know".
Ayumi opened her eyes to see herself in the school hallway; right in the middle of the hallway. She looked down and she saw she had on her school uniform, clean and fresh. She didn't understand how it got cleaned, despite the fact that she was at the bloody hall a few hours or even minutes ago with Sachiko. She sat up and yelped at the horrible pain burning on the back of her legs. Her legs were fine earlier, but now it was as if both of her legs were paralyzed. She saw a girl pass by and called out for her. The girl turned around and Ayumi noticed that she was from her homeroom! Her name was Aisaki Misamuna she was one of the nice quiet girls in school. She had healthy brown hair reaching all the way down her waist and clear blue eyes. Ayumi asked Aisaki for her help, for she could not walk by herself. She politely asked Aisaki if she could carry her to the nurse but stopped when she saw Aisaki's confused face.
Ayumi saw one girl run towards them as the girl said, "Aisaki-san! What are you doing here? Class is 'bout to start!". Even though the girl exclaimed that loudly, Aisaki's eyes were glued towards Ayumi. The girl noticed Aisaki's glare and she followed her glare to meet Ayumi's eyes. The girl's neck tilted to the side a little, as if in confusement. "Sano, she suddenly asked me to help her, should we help?", Aisako suddenly said after the long period of silent eye contact. Ayumi's eyes widen as the girl, known as Sano, exclaimed, "Ehhh? Is she hurt? Shouldn't we help her? But we don't know her!". Aisako nodded as she suddenly turned her eyes towards Ayumi's legs. Ayumi followed too, staring at her weak legs. They were all blue and purple all over and some parts of her delicate leg were swollen. Some blood were gushing out but mostly dried up blood. Her indoor shoes were a little soaked with blood and the floor was stained a little by it too.
The two girls screamed as called her a monster as they ran away from Ayumi. Ayumi was confused and her heart felt heavy as she heard them call her that and run off. She tried to stand up and lean on the wall but her legs gave up and forced her down like gravity was too strong. She reluctantly forced her legs to get up and threatened her own brain to keep going or she will literally break the window and jump off so she can end this hell. She slowly walked towards the infirmary. She used her right hand to balance her weight on the wall so she can walk steady and slowly. She got impatient on how slowly she was walking but she couldn't blame herself, her legs were numb and weak.
She saw the Infirmary sign and she gasped happily. Her pace quickened as she walked towards the door, slightly jumping while walking which surprisingly helped her calm the pain. As she pushed open the door, she accidently put too much weight on her leg and winced as she stumbled in the room. She rolled on the floor before landing butt first as she mourn in pain and her vision was getting blurry. She couldn't see clearly as she squinted her eyes to focus. As her eyes focused on a figure, her eyes widen as she saw Yoshiki and the nurse in the room. The nurse was sitting on her chair as Naomi stood across from her. Both of their faces were confused as Ayumi tried to speak but her voice squeaked and she somehow was out of breathe. "H-Help…me…". Ayumi croake softly as she fell sideways seeing blackness.
Ayumi opened her eyes as she blinked a few times feeling nauseous. She tried to sit up but felt someone push her down and Ayumi stiffened as she quickly turned her head which made her feel worse. She saw Naomi looking pissed with her arms crossed at her chest. Ayumi blinked more and she tried to speak but she felt dizzy as just squeaks escaped her mouth. "Don't even think of sitting up,". Naomi pointed out with her eyes rolled up. "You'll feel more sick. Besides, I just fed you with Tylenol to numb the pain for a bit, but the medicine didn't kick in yet, so just be a good girl and lie down". Naomi sounded so cold which made Ayumi hurt but she just looked down and just made a small nod. Naomi sighed as she shook her head. "Really? It was lunch time- you had to ruin it for me? I had enough bad days for today". Naomi kept continuing her complaints and it didn't sound much like Naomi. Was it 'cause of stress?
"It's not all your fault," Naomi continued which made Ayumi look at her slowly. "The nurse apparently had an emergency so I gotta nurse you 'till the assistant gets here. It's half your fault." Ayumi darkened but she still managed to smile towards Naomi. "It's alright. I'll just tell Yoshiki to get me some lunch" Naomi said as she took out her phone and started to text violently. She snapped her phone shut as she shoved it in her skirt pocket. Ayumi fidgeted with her hands as Naomi dragged a stool towards the bed and sat on it quietly as an uncomfortable silence filled the air. Naomi stared at the ceiling while she moved her legs back and forth. Ayumi never knew it was this awkward with Naomi. Or at least she thought it was Naomi; the one she knew was nicer and gentler. She hoped it was Naomi. Or else she would be happy for nothing.
They heard someone open the door as Yoshiki came in with three rice balls. His face presented a frown. "Seriously Naomi? Pay me back". He sounded intensely annoyed. Yoshiki always have been the 'rude' type but she didn't care; at least she knew someone how acted normal. Naomi reached for the rice balls as Yoshiki sighed and placed the plate on Naomi's hands. "Arigato-ne" She called out as she opened one and gobbled it up. Yoshiki's eyes slowly planted on Ayumi's as his eyes showed emptiness. Ayumi started to feel nervous as she looked away from him. She imagine him calling out to her and asking her what had happened and how did she fell from the floor but instead Yoshiki asked, "Who are you?"
