Time for the next installment of this.

As for how many chapters this fic will have, I'm not sure yet. And sorry to say this but I can't get a beta since my fic writing schedule is sporadic at best.

Also, 'Eye Water' is the name of a song on the snk soundtrack. Just saying.

I don't own Shingeki no Kyojin.

"Hanji's going to put you through a bit of training today, okay?" Jean said.

He nodded.

"That means you have to do anything she says, even if it's really weird. Got it?"

He nodded again.

"Remember, if everything goes well today, they said that you could go on expeditions with us instead of being cooped up in here all the time. They might even take off your restraints."

With a small tug at one of the many ropes around his wrist, he nodded again.

He would really appreciate that. It would mean he would be able to talk with more than just his not-quite words. Also, he was getting really sore from laying in the same uncomfortable position for weeks on end.

Hanji had spoke of training him to work with the Scouting Legion before but was vague about when. Now it seemed she finally started preparations for it. She was off looking for the same carts the brought him to the base in the first place.

Eren had told him that training for him usually consisted of simple tasks like picking things up or nodding his head at questions. But his training would be different because he was a titan, wouldn't it?

Soon he was out in an open field. His friends, Hanji, the Tired Man, and this smaller man he hadn't had the chance to meet before (despite being around Connie or Armin's size, this man managed to send a chill up his spine) were standing in front of him.

"We'll skip the communication's test since we know you can understand us clearly, Marco!" Hanji shouted up to him.

He didn't really get why she had to shout when he could hear her perfectly well but he nodded anyways.

"You don't feel like eating any of us, do you?" she asked.

His eyes widened and he quickly shook his head.

"Good! Now, we'll test your dexterity and your strength control!"

Before he could try remembering what 'dexterity' was, the Scary Man said "Which one of you brats volunteer to get picked up by a titan?"

His eyes widened. Pick them up? But... Armin must have told them about what happened the last time he tried to pick a human up! Why would they trust him to do this?

None of the cadets were moving. Did that mean that he had to pick? He didn't want to scare any of them...

Suddenly, Ymir and Sasha both shoved Connie forward. He stumbled forward a step and turned around to yell at the two when the Scary Man put a hand on his shoulder.

"Thanks for volunteering, Springer."

Connie was forced closer to him and he started planning how to go about this. He crouched down and wrapped his fingers around Connie.

"S-Sorry... Connie..." he said softly.

"Oh, hey, you said my name right that time- OH GOD THAT'S TIGHT! OW!" He had a bug-eyed look similar to the one Armin had. "LEMME GO! LEMME GO! PUT ME DOWN, MARCO!"

He quickly dropped the cadet onto the ground and withdrew his hands. He looked down to the ground sadly. That made two friends he nearly hurt with those hands...

"You okay, Connie?"

"Are you alright, Connie?"

"It was Ymir's idea!"

"Ready to try again?" Hanji asked.

Connie gave her glare that asked if she were crazy. "Hell no! I think I felt something crack when he squeezed me!"

"If you're still able to bitch about it, then you're fine, Springer," the Scary Man said bluntly. "Now let him try again."

He shook his head. "No!"

The Scary Man rolled his eyes then met his gaze. "What was that?"

"Don... want... to hurt... Connie." he said as firmly as he could.

"He's fine," the Scary Man replied. "Now this is an order: Pick him up."

He drew his hands closer to his little friend. Connie put a hand up to signal him to stop.

"Oy! Marco! Could you try being, I dunno, a little more gentle this time?" he asked.

He decided to use only two fingers this time. He barely let his skin brush against Connie as he tried to pick him up. He was in the air for only a few feet before he slipped between the fingers and fell on his backside.

"Okay, maybe not that gentle," he groaned. "One more time!"

He frowned as he tried again. Rather than just grab him, why not just hold him up?

Connie let out an undignified yelp as he was swept off his feet by his hand. He sat up in his palm and nearly jumped back when he saw his face right in front of him.

"You still alive up there, Springer?" the Scary Man called out.

"Yeah! I'm just fine!" he answered. He turned to the one carrying him and sighed. "Geez, why didn't you just do this to begin with?"

"Sorry..."

He carefully set Connie down in front of the others. He smiled with pride in the fact that he finally managed to pick someone up without hurting them.

"Good job!" Hanji cheered. "Now we know that you can interact with humans without hurting them! Though, you don't really know your own strength yet, huh? We're going to have to work on that."

He rubbed the back of his neck and gave her an awkward smile.

"Okay, next we'll see your fighting ability. Cadet Arlert's already told me that you were killing titans in the forest but we want to help you refine that so that you can do it quickly." She nodded to Eren, who started to walk away from the rest of the group. "Fight Eren."

He raised an eyebrow. But Eren was so much tinier than him. "Hurt Eren."

"You can change now!" the Scary Man called over his shoulder.

Change? Wait, did he mean into a-

Eren brought his hand up to his mouth and chomped down. There was a great flash of light and a gust of wind. He let out a gasp of surprise at the being now standing where Eren was.

It was tall enough to look him in the eyes. It had long locks of brown covering part of its face. Pointed ears were pointing their way out of it. Unlike other titans, it had a lot more muscle on him. Its face, like his own, was a bit scary to look at with exposed teeth. If it weren't for the fire in his eyes, he wouldn't have recognized it.

"Eren?" he gasped. The other titan nodded. But he was human a few seconds ago! Did that mean that Eren was stuck like him now? He didn't want people to be scared of Eren like they were scared of him!

"Now, fight Eren."

Eren got raised his fists up and crouched to a fighting position. He tried to copy him but he was sure that he was wrong on something.

He kind of lamented that the only physical contact he'd have with someone else his size would be with violence. But he mentally sighed and accepted it.

Then Eren thoroughly kicked his ass with the skills from the combat training that he had long forgotten.

All this in a day. I'm proud.

Anyways, review, please!
