Another battle would take place soon, and when Myrcella began to pray she couldn't help but pray for both sides. Pray for mercy. Pray for Robb Stark to come back, and pray for her family, whatever part of it would be in the battle, and for the soldiers who were caught up between the warring families.
Wouldn't a glass of wine be so much simpler?
Myrcella wished she had a Sept to pray in instead of a tent that she had been in for a long while with a woman who did not like her at all watching over her like she was a criminal.
"What are you doing, Myrcella?" Catelyn asked.
"Praying."
"For what?"
Myrcella paused, not wanting to admit she was praying for both sides of a war. "For the gods to have mercy on everyone."
"Everyone?" Catelyn said. "Including the people who hold you captive?"
"Everyone matters. And most of the men out there right now are only there because their lords called upon them. Most are men who are too young to be where they are."
"And how would you know what too young means?" Catelyn asked. "Does not everyone young think they are all grown up?"
"Of course. But even those who are young can see the youth around them. I have seen at least forty boys younger than me in this camp."
"But they are fighting against your family." Catelyn said. "They are your enemy."
"I don't believe that." Myrcella said. "I bet if you put most of them in a room with me they would not hurt me, or if they did, it wouldn't be because of my family."
"Are you so sure?"
Myrcella nodded. "Rather sure. When I was found in my tent they didn't know who I was at all. They thought me a whore."
"Well, no one expected a princess in a war camp." Catelyn said.
"And what are you?" Myrcella asked. "If your son is a king, what does that make you?"
"He was proclaimed king." Catelyn said. "I'm not sure that makes me anything but a mother of a king."
"So you are still lady of Winterfell?"
"At least until my son brings home his bride."
"Yes, a Frey." Myrcella nodded. "I hear a few of your children will go to them."
She nodded. "It's war."
Myrcella looked down. "Why isn't Jon Snow here, then?"
Catelyn paused a second. "I thought you were to be kept away from him at Winterfell."
"I only met him once." Myrcella said honestly. "But I didn't think that he would let his brother go to war without him."
"He's on the Wall." Catelyn told her, her voice emotionless.
"Oh." Myrcella said shortly. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Catelyn said. "It's where he belongs."
Myrcella paused. "My mother always told me that murderers and rapists were on the wall."
Catelyn stared at Myrcella a moment. "You know nothing, Myrcella."
Now it was Myrcella's turn to stare at Catelyn, and that's all she did. She was learning to hold her tongue.

Again, Myrcella was alone. She ditched her guard again, and found herself wandering the camp at night, the darkness swirling around her. She was making her way to Robb's tent, but when she got close she could hear voices inside, and she paused. She did promise she would give information to Jaime for when they can escape.
"Peace will not be reached like this. They have taken too much from us." Robb said. "They pushed my brother out a window to silence him, and then tried to kill him when the first attempt failed. They killed my sister's direwolf and kidnapped one of them, and lost the other. The killed my father. They started a war, and I intend to finish it."
Myrcella couldn't help but step closer. She was told that the wolves ran away on the journey to King's Landing. She was told Bran had slipped while he climbed-everyone knew that he climbed.
"We can only guess what she's doing to my sister." Robb said.
Myrcella froze then. They didn't know she was listening to this. They weren't saying this to convince her; they truly believed it. If they truly believed it...there had to be at least some truth behind it.
"And what is going to happen to Cersei's children?" Asked a different voice, that she could only guess that it was Theon's. She wasn't sure, though.
"Well, what can we do to them? Joffery is the only one who has hurt my family. I have nothing against the other two, even the one in the camp. She may be a little problematic, but she is just a child."
"I'm not a child." Myrcella whispered, before covering her mouth with her hands, and stepping away.
"I will not be the monster they are." Robb continued. "They will not be kings or queens, but I do not punish people for their parent's mistakes."
"Even if they're not only bastards, but products of incest?"
"They don't know that. Even when we try to tell them." Robb said.
Myrcella couldn't listen anymore. She wasn't getting anything new, other than they truly believed what they said. They weren't just trying to shake her up. They truly believed it. She turned and ran, lifting her skirts to her knees. Her footfalls louder than she wished they were. She was sure she could be heard.

Jondry, Robb's squire ran it after the two inside heard footsteps running away.
"Did she hear it all?" Robb asked.
Jondry nodded. "I think so. She looked in distress when she ran."
"Good. We may be able to bring her to our side now, or at least get her to leave the Lannisters." Theon said. "Good thing you're small, boy. You can hide anywhere can't you?"
"Leave him alone." Robb said, before looking at the boy. "You did well. Thank you."
Theon turned to Robb. "Did you mean what you said about not getting rid of all the Lannisters?"
"I do. I don't think I could kill children, do you?"
"Perhaps it would be better if you did."
"I doubt you could look her in the eyes and kill her yourself." Robb replied. "Myrcella and her younger brother can live, the rest cannot."
