*Armin's PoV*
I watched everyone dying around me. And I did nothing about it! Why? I still don't know. My legs won't work. Katie got grabbed all of a sudden by a titan. Right before I saw her get swallowed, she smiled at me. What kind of person smiles when they're dying. Well, she was always weird. That reminds me, she gave me a paper right before she died. "Give this to Seven it the red rose wilts and becomes no more." What does that mean? Wait. I think-
All of a sudden, a titan's approaching me. It's big hands lift me up and then drops me. Then, right before I feel into the stomach, I felt someone grab my hand. That person was Eren! Wait, Eren? I thought-
He threw me out and I landed hard on the rooftop. I panicked. 'How is he going to get out!?' I look up and he's holding the mouth open. He's saying how he's not going to die and how we would see the outside world. I never knew he still remembered, I thought he forgot but- His hand was fully outstretched towards me to the point to where I could grab him. "EREN!" I scream so loud my throat hurts, I don't care. I just want my friend to be safe. I jumped forward, when the titan's mouth closed and his arm went flying out. I can't believe it. My best friend since I was a kid. The only one who could understand me. The one that helped me throughout all the years finally needs help, and I can't even grab him to save his life! I felt tears stream down my face and I scream until my throat burns.
====Time Skip====
*Seven's PoV*
Luna and I had regrouped when the order to retreat was sent out. Unfortunately, like the others we were almost out of gas. It happened so suddenly though. One minute Luna was surveying the rooftops for Katie and I actually asking people if they had seen the adorable redhead. When they brought Armin in. I didn't see Katie with him though. I should've known too. I thought he would stop after saying Eren Yeager, but he continued with a Katie Asher. I couldn't think for once. My eyes were spilling over with tears and my throat was letting out sobs. I looked the best I could with blurry vision, at Luna. She wasn't even crying, just standing there. 'I wish I could be strong like you' Luna came up behind Armin and nodded at him, telling him, she didn't blame him for Katie's death. Luna walked over to me and said, "Are you going to stand there and bawl or are we going to follow Mikasa?" It felt like her eyes were burning into my very soul, but she was always like this.
I nodded, too afraid my voice would fail me. I wiped off the snot and hot tears and put on a game face, "Yeah, let's go." She too nodded and we ran even before Jean encouraged the rest of them to go. We were gliding, building to building avoiding as many titans as we could. I looked up to Mikasa who was in front of us. 'She's going to run out of gas in 15 seconds' In those 15 seconds, I saw Luna sped up to Mikasa's pace. 'What is she doing?!'
*Luna's PoV*
I don't know why, I just thought I should've told her that she would be low soon. So, I sped up to met up with her. I could imagine the amount of confusion on Seven's face right now, but she wouldn't follow. Not unless I told her to. I looked at Mikasa, "You're gonna run out of gas in 5 seconds, you know that?" I guess her tiny mind that was only reserved for Eren couldn't process what I said until it was too late. Her supply cut off and she fell. I heard Connie scream something out to her. "Tch" I let go of the handles and let myself fall.
I landed with a thud. 'Damn that hurt' I looked up to see Mikasa sitting on the ground all depressed and shit. "What are you doing here?" She hissed not even bothering to look at me. And I am not in a good mood as it is. "I'm here to make sure you don't die, idiot. And a little gratitude goes a long way and looking at somebody when they're talking to you."
"Well, I never asked you to come. Just leave me be." I almost pitied her. Almost. "Just so you can get eaten, no way."
"You only want to do that so you can be seen as a hero. Saving the 'strong and beautiful Mikasa'." She said the last part sarcastically. You do not know how hard I wanted to hit her. "Some people are nice," I bent down next to her, " Not all of them. But some."
"This world is-" "Cruel yet beautiful. No, duh. Some of us are still trying to handle what happened. Let alone get over that their friends and loved one were killed. So act like a brat about it." This is getting annoying, seriously. She looked stunned.
Can't believe I was about to say this but, "You have to fight to win. If you die you lose. If you die, your memories die with you. And the memories of Eren die you." Her face turned into one of determination.
"You're right, for once." She said mini smile on her face. A titan was heading in our direction, slowly closing in on us. Then Eren's titan form was on the other side. Mikasa stood up. "Well, are you or are you not going to: A-kill those titans or B-going to let me hop on your back and go back with the others?" I smirked. She had a whole lot to learn. "Neither." Her eyes hardened. "Wasn't it you who just said not to give up-?"
Titan Eren leaped forwards and punched the other titan in the face and sent it flying back. The ground shook; Mikasa and I flew a few feet in the air and hit the ground. We both covered our ears as titan Eren roared really loud. Well, now I think I just went deaf. 'It is so much louder in real life' Then I remembered, Armin would be swooping in to save Mikasa. I quickly got up and then I heard a 'Mikasa!' and the aimed the hook to the building and took off with Armin by my side.
Once we landed Armin asked, "Are you two okay?" I nodded and Mikasa replied with a 'yes.' Then Connie swooped in, "Are you three okay?" "Yeah!"
"We need to go. Now!" Connie demanded.
