Chapter 10 Fiery Rescue

Lian woke up to find herself in a dark room that appeared to be some kind of store house. The door opened spilling in some light as Dante walked in followed by Hudai and a couple of guards. Lian glared at the panther as he grinned down her.
"Ah the little cat is awake. That's good. We wouldn't want her to be unconscious for her final moments." Said Dante.
"It would rob the men of her screams." Agreed Hudai.
"What are you monsters planning?" Asked Lian putting on a brave face.
"We plan to burn you at the stake. Once your dead and gone, will take what's left of your body and display it to the villages to show what will happen to anyone that dares defy me." Said Dante with a cruel smile.
"If I die another will oppose you. Your nothing but a bunch of murders and cowards." Said Lian.
"Oh I highly doubt that. Grab her and bring her outside." Said Dante.
The guards grabbed Lian and she was dragged outside the building and found she was at some kind of military outpost. Lian was dragged to a large wooden stake in the ground and tied to it. A bunch of guards began to dump a bunch of dry twigs around the stake and pour some lamp oil on it. The sun began to go down and Dante forces began to gather around to watch an execution.
Peng arrived at the outpost as night began to set. He was on one of the walls, when he saw Lian tied to the stake and Dante's gang gathered around her. The snow leopard had to act fast, but he knew he couldn't take on all these enemies by himself. Peng needed the element of surprise. He jumped down from the wall and crept through the base. Nearly all the guard were gathered around Lian, so it was easy. Peng found some pots of lantern oil and got an idea. He began to pour the oil on some buildings and spread it around the ground leaving a trail. Peng then gabbed a lite lantern and tossed it to the ground. The lantern was smashed to bits and the flames hit the oil setting it ablaze.
Dante had a lite torch in his hands and was fixing to set the stake on fire, when fire broke out over the base. The bandits ran about screaming and shouting as they tried to put the fire out. A short figure in black ran through the chaos knocking down bandits with kicks and punches, before he reached Dante and delivered a powerful kick into his chest knocking him down and sending the torch flying. The masked figure ran over to Lian, who punched at him, but she was aiming at Hudai who had tried to launch a sneak attack from behind. The hawk flew and crashed to the ground near Dante. Lian and the masked figure took off running and scaled the wall.
"I will hunt you down and make you suffer!" Vowed Dante with anger.
