A/N: Surprise second chapter of the day.

Disclaimer: I obviously don't own Hetalia as this is a FANfiction.

Chapter 8: Trying to Keep a Broken Promise

They had all been sitting in the hospital room for at least an hour already, Jareth had shown up and said that the twins would be a few more hours as they were coming from Ireland. Alfred and Matthew had fallen asleep together in the coach in the room, Jareth was still somewhat awake in the chair next to them, Francis was in the chair next to the left side of the bed holding onto Arthur's hand, and Alasdair, was leaning against the wall next to the door.

No one had really spoken much since they had entered the room after being told of Arthur's condition, and then told by the doctor that they were unsure on when he would wake up or if at all. The day was going so horribly, but at least Arthur was alive. Alasdair had been watching the heart monitor when he noticed, that Arthur's heart rate was slowly slowing down, and knew that something not good was happening in his baby brother's mind.

"Francis" he said "I need you to go alert the doctor the Arty's heart is slowing."

"What are you going to Alasdair?" Francis askes knowing that his brother-in-law is going to try something.

"I'm going to go inside his mind and try and find out why he is apparently deciding to give up on life." he answered. "That's why I'm sending you to get the doctor instead of Jareth, you don't know how to use magic."

"Just don't blow anything up while I'm gone then." responds Francis

After Francis leaves he noticed that Jareth is staring at him unsure, of what to do.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Jareth askes

"No, but it's the only thing that I can see working, and I need at least one person who knows magic on stand by." Alasdair responded

And with that Alasdair takes up Francis' earlier position, and starts performing the necessary spell. He doesn't care what it takes, he has to save his baby brother, he already broke the promise that he had made their mother on her deathbed, he wasn't going to do so again, without even trying to save his brother.

A/N: I leave you here for now. The next time will be both Arthur and Alasdair in Arthur's mind hashing things out.
