Hey guys, I'm back! Sorry about the long wait, but I was was vacation for a while and I wasn't able to get back to writing until after Christmas last year. Anyway, I've been able to work on this chapter several times while being out of town for a few weeks. after what happened to Alpha outside the story? Hard to say, but here's the next chapter.
"Alright, we've discovered where Eggman's fleet is, it won't be easy since he's got a big fleet, we need might need some help." X explained as he debriefed the armies, armies, they were a mix of Pantheons, Clone Troopers, and Auto Troopers, the Pantheons were upgraded to be more durable, stronger, and faster than ever, they joined in when they heard of a rescue mission, some of them were colored differently to be commanders for their respective generals, equipped with the same weapon as their general, their appearances even matched their generals bodies.
The Clone Troopers agreed to work and fight alongside the Pantheons, the Auto Troopers even agreed since they understood what they went through when they fought in their war against the Decepticons.
Alpha was standing next to Fairy Leviathan as she stood waiting for X to give the order,but in order to wait, X was giving orders to the armies Alpha gathered, bit she didn't want to upset her boyfriend.
Alpha was paying little attention, he kept thinking about what Sally was gonna say when she would return to normal, Leviathan noticed this. "What's up? You're usually focused, don't tell me, you're thinking about sally, aren't you?"
Alpha was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Fairy's question, he wasn't sure on how to answer her question, but he was going to answer with an honest answer. "I don't know, Levi, what would Sally say if she was brought out of her prison?"
Fairy was stumped, but she knew what Sonic would say. "Well, I know what Sonic would say, he'd say that you did a good job." at that moment, Sonic came up, he heard everything. "True, I would say that, but remember, I got captured for a reason, Sal had no choice, although, this isn't the first time Sal's been roboticized, the first time when the original-"
"The original Robotnik was around? Yeah, I have the comics that were about your adventures and your encounters with Robotnik and various others, a former Metal Sonic was also included. Shard, right?"
Sonic was at a loss, he didn't know that Alpha knew so much. But Alpha only knew so much, and sonic wanted to know. "Where's shard? Do you know where he is?" Alpha decided to go with the truth. "In all honesty, I don't. But I have an idea, and it'll wait until after this is all finished." Sonic thought about it for a few minutes, then he smiled. "Alright, we'll see how it goes." Fairy saw the look Alpha had, she had seen it when Vectorman was attacked. "I know what you're thinking, but it's more insane than that plan you and Sonic had when those two battlecharger Decepticons were blocking the door to the bridge."
"So? It worked, didn't it? Besides, I think I'll handle it after the battle." Then Alpha got worried. "If we survive, that is. I just hope we get out of this battle alive." then X came up. "I overheard everything, I'm sure you'll do fine, Alpha, Omega Alpha wasn't able to participate, but he wanted to wish you luck in the attack."
Alpha smiled, but he didn't know WHERE Omega Alpha was at the moment, but he decided not to dwell on it. "I see. Well, is everything ready?" He asked, X nodded.
"Everything is ready, Alpha. But the question is, are you?" Questioned X
For once, Alpha wasn't so sure, he had come this far,but he wasn't sure of the responsibility he was going to handle, but his doubts were gone when Fairy kissed him.
"I know he's ready, I have faith in him." She said, giving Alpha confidence.
X smiled. "Alright, then we're ready. All troops, move out."
The mixed armies boarded Galactic Republic styled battleships, as soon as they were in the battleships, they took off after Eggman's fleet, it seemed like hours before the fleets were miles apart, inside the main battleship, Alpha was in the hanger, readying what looked like a familiar F-14 Tomcat fighter jet, but it could transform into a robot.
Fairy approached him as he put on the finishing touches was wearing a old RDF flight suit in his colors, the same applied to a RDF helmet he was wearing, the suit was in place of his armor because he had a reason to wear it.
"Why are you wearing that costume? You don't belong with the RDF, nor the REF, and you're not human."
"It's not a costume, I modded it so it could be worn as armor, the same goes for the helmet, and I know I'm not human, well, not technically anyway." he countered back, Fairy was curious. "How so?" Alpha hugged her. "I know how X built me, and you know why I looked the Zero you fought, in the other world from where I lived at the time, I had friends, but I really felt out of place among them, am I feeling the same thing as I do here?" Fairy hadn't taken that into consideration, but she had to cheer her boyfriend up somehow. "If it makes you feel any better, I felt the same way with Harpuia, and Fefnir after when we lost Phantom back in Neo Arcadia, I just wish he were here now. He always knew what to do." She said, feeling like something was missing, Alpha knew the answer.
"Well, if he was here now, he would give you advice, and if he was here back then, you'd still miss him, there are times when fate rarely calls upon us, and he cared for you, and he knew it was time for him to go, sorta like a certain RDF pilot who passed away when he got shot at in aerial combat, he knew he wouldn't live to see the rest of the following events, and never got to have a pineapple salad. The point is, we all have something to protect, and you know what I fight to protect?"
"What?" Fairy asked, Alpha chuckled and kissed her. Fairy was stunned.
"See you soon, Levi." Alpha said as he climbed into the fighter, and flew off into the battlefield.
Fairy Leviathan just stood there, watching as Alpha was leading a lot of Z-95 Headhunters into battle.
Just outside, The battle had not started yet, although, the ships had already started firing on each other, Alpha's fighter signaled all fighter squadrons from his side to join him.
Eggman on his main flagship saw the fighter squadrons, and expected this, but he had something nobody would ever expect see again. Orbot and Cubot were right behind him.
"Are they ready?" Eggman asked, Orbot nodded. "Yes sir, they're ready." Eggman smirked. "Then, launch launch them, we wouldn't want to keep them waiting."
Outside, the Egg fleet launched a hundred droid fighters, the clone pilots were shocked and horrified, the Separatist droid fighters were not supposed to be reactivated. Eggman must have found them and reactivated those monstrosities, I'd fight Mavericks rather than them. Alpha thought before giving an order. "Red and blue squadrons, follow me, the others will divert and take out the other battleships in the Egg fleet."
"But commander, won't we be targets?" One of the clone pilots asked. "Do you remember Hosnian System? you're not the First Order or the Empire, you are the remains of the grand army of the Old Republic, I wouldn't be surprised if the Resistance or the Rebels came to help." just like he said, Rebel and Resistance ships came out of hyperspace, shocking everyone, then Rebel and Resistance X-Wing fighters appeared and attacked the Droid fighters. "Didn't know you'd come to help, Wedge." Alpha said, looking at the Rebel T-65 X-Wing on his left. "What? You didn't expect us?" Wedge joked, Alpha laughed. "I did, but I didn't expect both factions to appear out of nowhere, but it gives us an advantage over the Egg Fleet."
Then a black and orange T-70 X-Wing came up to the right. "Well, you need our help, after all, Bumblebee's the one who called us in to the fight after hearing about the mission to save princess Sally Acorn." Wedge laughed again. "One princess rescues two Rebels, and now a Reploid trying to rescue a Mobian princess, what are the odds?"
"Cut the chatter, Rouge leader. You and Poe were called to help me? Well, Bee does know when to call in help in times like this." Alpha quipped, Poe laughed. "Well, I hate to say it, but that old thing can't take any hits from those droids, it doesn't have any shields."
Alpha was about to prove Poe wrong, three Droid fighters were closing in fast, then it happened, Alpha had turned his Veritech fighter upwards and used a switch that transformed the fighter to it's robot configuration, the three droid fighters passed him and he chased them, letting loose three missiles, one for each droid. Too easy. He thought as each missile hit their intended targets.
Poe was shocked, alpha had obviously outclassed him in that maneuver. "How did you..." he trailed off, Alpha cackled with amusement. "That maneuver I pulled, I just did it, but it just goes to show you that even this old thing can do things no starfighter could ever do."
"True, but this 'old thing' can do more than you think." a voice came from the cockpit, Surprising everyone. "Did you just talk?" Alpha asked in confusion. The Veritech fighter suddenly transformed back to it's fighter configuration. "Yes, I JUST did. Now I'll talk later. You have a mission to fulfill, is that right?" the Veritech fighter asked as if it was bored with all the questions. "Yeah, thanks for reminding me, Wedge, Poe, continue the battle until I give the all clear."
The two pilots acknowledged the order, as Alpha piloted the sentient Veritech over each Battleship of the Egg fleet, hopping to find Sally. "How are we going to find the princess among the fleet? It'll be like finding a needle in a haystack!" The Veritech scanned each battleship until it found a positive result. "I found her, but you won't like this, she's in the main flagship of this fleet."
Great, just what we need, a repeat of what happened in Revenge Of The Sith. Alpha thought, he wasn't reluctant to find out what would happen, but one could only hope, could they? "I hope she's in the hanger bay. I'll put you on autopilot so you can have control." But then he began to have second thoughts. "But where can she be? Can you find out if Sally's in the hanger? I just need to be sure." The Veritech was scanning the ship, but couldn't come up with the results.
"I can't find her, the ship's masking her signature, if you can figure out where the jamming is coming from on the ship, you'll be able to find her." The Veritech informed, Alpha knew that had to be the case. "Right, but I'm not so sure about this, it might be a trap."
The Veritech flew into the hanger and transformed into it's gerwalk mode as Alpha jumped out of it's cockpit and cut through waves of Battle Droids and Egg Pawns.
Like I said, a repeat, and a trap. He thought as he finished with all of his opponents. Out of nowhere a metal figure appeared before him, he could see who the figure was.
"Princess Sally, I've come to free you." He said, hoping to find out if she would respond to him.
"Priority one: Reploid. Designation: Alpha. Threat: Dangerous." That was her response, not that it mattered, it was how Alpha was going to return her to back to her former self.
"I don't want to hurt you, whatever Eggman did to you, I'll reverse it." he explained with determination in his voice, but the Robian princess didn't show any emotion, except for anger and hatred. "I must do what Eggman commands me to do."
Alpha didn't believe that one bit. "that's what Eggman wants you to believe, he turned you against Sonic. Eggman ruined everyone's lives, including yours, you've been fighting against him for years. Think back, princess, would you have done the same when he was roboticized into Mecha Sonic? Think about it, Sally, he cared so much about you, and you just pushed him away, I don't know why you just gave up, but Sonic never did, in fact, he went so far to protect you. Do you even care about him?!" Alpha was furious for a moment, but what he saw next was confusing, Sally just stood there.
Inside the Robian princess's mind, the real Princess Sally was fighting what seemed to be her Robian self. "You shouldn't have woken up, princess, I was about to deal with the intruder."
"Maybe, but he gave me a reason to fight BACK!" Sally roared as she hit her Robian self straight in the jaw, she, nor the Robian noticed that what was happening affected what was going on outside, and Alpha saw that Sally was on her knees, clutching her her head as if she were in pain, this was his chance to undo what Eggman did to Sally as he charged his Deroboticizer weapon.
In the electronic mindscape, Sally was losing, but it wasn't long before Alpha had fired a shot, reverting the princess back to normal. I'm glad it's over. He thought, relieved that there wasn't going to be anymore trouble.
Sally opened her eyes, her blurred vision clearing to see Alpha kneeling toward her, offering to help her up.
"Thanks." She said simply as she stood on her feet. "Don't thank me yet, we've got to get off this ship." Alpha's words almost fell on deaf ears when Metal Sonic appeared in front of them. "You won't be getting off this ship, Eggman is very angry because of what you did to Mecha Sally."
"Well tough, Metal. You know just as well as I do that Eggman won't quit until everyone's gone." Alpha countered, knowing Metal wouldn't believe what he was going to say next because he wasn't sure it would work. "I think Shard is somewhere inside you, but I can't be sure until I know that he's there." Both Metal and Sally were confused, they didn't know what Alpha was talking about until a spark started an explosion inside Metal's body and out of nowhere came a different Metal Sonic from a white portal looking damaged.
Alpha and Sally were surprised to see the black Metal Sonic. "Weird, I don't know how Shard came out of that portal, but he looks damaged, don'tcha think?" Sally could only nod, but managed to help Shard up, looking back at Alpha. "I hate to ask, but um...how are we getting out of here?"
Alpha looked back at the Veritech fighter, still in it's Gerwalk mode. "You got enough room?" He asked, the Veritech fighter shrugged. "Well, I'm fitted two seats like the VT-102 did, why do you ask?"
Alpha looked back at Sally and Shard then back to the fighter. "We're going to have an extra passenger, my friend." He replied.
The Veritech fighter shuddered is if it was getting a bad feeling, Alpha knew what it meant, he and the others were running out of time. "We have to leave, now. If another Metal Sonic came, we'd be in bigger trouble than before." he said, motioning the two into the Veritech fighter before sitting in the pilot seat.
Outside, the Resistance and Rebel fighters were doing the the best they could as the Egg Fleet began firing on them, the only ones who weren't easy targets were Wedge and Poe as they were taking out the main batteries on the Egg Fleet's ships.
"I Don't know how long we can keep this up, Alpha's got to have rescued the princess by now." Poe said as he continued firing, Wedge looked over the battlefield, looking at Eggman's capitol ship. "Don't worry, he won't be long, if anyone like Luke could get out of scrapes, it'll be Alpha." And he was right, in the hanger of Eggman's flagship, Alpha was trying to find a way out.
A few minutes ago, Eggman closed the hanger door, and needless to say, both weren't even pleased with each other. Eggman was laughing at the current situation, until Cubot interrupted him. "Uh...boss? They're making an attempt to escape." Eggman stopped laughing, but was smiling. "That doesn't matter, they'll never escape my flagship, it's so big, it's like a maze, they'll never get out." He continued laughing, but Cubot interrupted again. "But what if there's a weak spot? Wouldn't find it exploited?" this time Orbot agreed. "Sir, Cubot's right, this vessel has a weak spot, and I'm looking at right at it on my screen, I'll put it on the larger screen." As soon as he did, Eggman's face turned red.
"I HATE THAT REPLOID!".
Alpha and the others were lucky they weren't able to hear Eggman screaming, but as soon as they neared a certain spot, a large group of Swatbots seemed like they were guarding what looked like something important. Alpha pulled the Veritech back a bit, wanting to hear what was happening.
The Swatbots were receiving orders Eggman was probably barking out, something about a weak spot that's all they needed to know about, but unfortunately for them, Alpha heard everything. So that's what this particular spot is. Alpha thought, then he looked to Sally and Shard. "I've got a plan." Sally looked at him like he was crazy. "Oh no, Alpha, don't do what I think you're going to do." Alpha smiled. "Relax, they won't know what hit 'em. Besides, the spot we're at is a weak spot." Sally was surprised, but still refusing to believe what Alpha was going to do. "Ready?" Alpha asked. "Ready when you are." The Veritech flew in front of the Swatbots and fired the missiles at the elevator which happened to be weak spot.
Outside the flagship, the weak spot exploded as Swatbots were flung out into open space as the Veritech flew out to rejoin the battle. "All fighters, the mission was a success, I repeat, the mission was a success."
Everyone who was fighting the Egg fleet cheered and returned to their ships, but not before the Robot Masters and their armies did massive damage to the Egg fleet, much to Eggman's fury.
The Republic ships went into hyperspace along with the Rebel and Resistance fleets.
In the main Republic cruiser, Alpha, X, and Sally were discussing over what happened with the two leader of the past and future.
"I still can't believe that you went that far to rescue Sally, Alpha." Princess Leia said with Disbelief, her future self knew otherwise. "Like it or not, Princess, we now have an ally back with us."
"I Know how it feels, General, we have the advantage, but we won't press it any further." Alpha said, feeling something bigger was coming. "Dr. Wily and Eggman were the first and second waves, I feel that something bigger than what we went up against is coming, but it may happen in the future."
The others were silent, but they knew alpha was right. "I think I can wrap this up, but I want Alpha to stay behind, I want to talk to him about something." General Leia explained as the others agreed, leaving Alpha alone with the general. "This has something to do with me, doesn't it?" General Leia smirked. "No, but this has to do with how Doctor Eggman knew you were coming." Alpha wanted to shout, but he kept himself calm. "Honestly I don't know, but Eggman may have found out that we were coming. We succeeded in the end, but I wonder how he got those droid star fighters, they're fifty years old, Clone Wars Era droids at that." He thought for a moment, then it dawned on him.
"There might be some Separatist outpost on several planets in your galaxy that are still functional, general. I suggest you find them before Eggman does, The First Order doesn't know he exist, and if they find him, that would mean a terrible future awaits if it isn't avoided, it could also mean a terrible fate will happen in your galaxy. Is Rey still looking for Luke?" He asked, General Leia paused for a second before answering. "Yes, she is, why?"
"I can tell you that she found him and is being trained in the ways of the Force, Don't ask about how I know, I just do." Alpha explained. "Now if you don't mind, I have to take a week long break for me to get settled in Videoland. There's still more I need to see and record data on. But before we break contact, alert X or Zero about this if I'm not there."
General Leia looked at Alpha like he was crazy, but didn't object. "Fine, but I'll let you know if the First Order has done anything out of the ordinary." She said.
"That's all I ask. See you and your past self when I get back." And with that, the transmission was cut, Alpha exited the communications room to find Fairy Leviathan waiting for him.
"So, what next?" She asked, Alpha looked her. "Remember what we planned before everything else happened? I distinctly remember discussing it with you." He said.
It didn't take but for a few seconds for Fairy to remember. "Oh, that. I guess I was so caught up in these situations that I forgot. Sorry." She apologized.
"It's alright, I don't blame you." He said, hugging Fairy.
"I have to go check on Shard, I won't take long." Alpha said, letting go of Fairy Leviathan. "You better not, or else I might go crazy." She said, Alpha chuckled. "You won't, I'll make sure of it."
A few minutes passed as Alpha entered the Medbay, searching for Shard, he looked around. It took a minute, but he eventually found shard not even finished being repaired yet, Perceptor was there, eventually repairing Shard, but with how big he was, Perceptor had to shrink down to human size, he didn't like it but it was effective to do Shard's repairs.
"Hey Shard, how are you feeling?" Shard looked up at Alpha, smiling. "My repairs are slow, but I'll be fine." But Perceptor was quick to disagree. "'Fine' nothing! Due to the extensive damage you received, you'll be here for weeks. But yes, your repairs are slow, and they will have positive results, I assure you." That scared Shard out of his robotic wits.
Alpha chuckled. "You're like a scientific version of Ratchet, you know that. Right, Perceptor?"
Perceptor said nothing but a simple 'go away, I'm busy with Shard's repairs, don't pester me' and wanted to continue.
Sheesh, I wonder what caused him to be like that. Alpha thought as he left, he found X standing next to Sally, they were discussing what was going on. "Hey." He called, X and Sally turned their attention to Alpha. "Well, it's good to see you again Alpha." Sally said, Alpha Smiled "Same here, Sally, do you remember anything before your capture?" Sally thought for a few minutes before responding. "The last thing I remember was being roboticized. Nothing else after that, what happened on Mobius?"
Alpha's expression was grim "Ixis Nagus, he took over, before and after the Genesis Wave happened, Geoffrey is dead, he saved Sonic from Ixis before Nagus was frozen, after that, the citizens were looking for Nicole to help them."
Sally was upset that Geoffery was dead, but understood that he saved sonic. "Was he honored?" Alpha Brightened up a little. "Yeah, you missed his funeral. I'm not sure what'll happen next." Then the door opened to Reveal Sonic, running at normal speed and hugged Sally. "I missed you, Sal." Sally smilled. "I know, Sonic. I missed you too." and with that, they kissed. Alpha Smiled, and decided to leave the two alone.
Wow, now that this arc is out of the way, I'll have to work on other stories. Also, I've been working on a crossover since last year, and I asked for help, luckily Kingstriker agreed to help write the crossover with me once he's done writing his other stories. And by the way, this story ain't over, it's got a long way to go. I'll see you guys later!
