I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaack! I'm so glad you guys seem to like how Kol came in! I know it was different from most fics and I'm just glad you guys are on board with him embracing the dark side he always had on the show! Chapter 9
Elijah
The second Caroline's body goes limp everyone within the circle appears to lose every ounce of sense they have in their bodies. Nikalus begins to yell at the Bennet witch to do as Kol says, Rebekah cries out emotionally, begging Kol to stop, the witch glances back and forth between everyone, unsure what to do and Kol holds the girl close against him with the stake still in position as he continues to mutter threats of what he will do if Niklaus tries to climb the tree. Everyone looses their sense. Everyone except for Elijah of course (but what else is new). The eldest living Mikaelson lets out an exasperated breath and then takes a meaningful step forward
"Enough!" his voice is strong and loud, seeming to break everybody out of their childish yelling as they turn to him "Kol you will not harm the girl. You will cease acting like a spoiled child this instant and you will come down out of that damn tree"
"And why on earth would I listen to you brother?" Kol asks seeming amused
"Because if you do not you will spend the next several centuries with a dagger in your heart. For someone who has gotten to live so little you do seem determined to throw your freedom away" Elijah says casually
"Awfully big words brother, but we both know you don't have the guts" the younger original grins maniacally
"Maybe not" Klaus says stepping forward "but I do"
"So determined to save this girl. Awfully heroic Nik" Kol spits the words bitterly, like they burn on his tongue "don't you two ever wonder why our brother so easily gives his loyalty to someone who only ever betrayed him when he would not give it even to us. His family"
"Kol do not try to turn this around on Niklaus" Elijah says still planted firmly in place "you seem to like warnings so here is yours. You will drop the girl immediately and come down here or you will not be awake to see the sunrise"
"As you wish" Kol grins shoving Caroline violently away from him so that her body begins to tumble carelessly to the ground, of course Niklaus moves impossibly fast and manages to catch her.
"Thank you brother" Elijah says moving closer "now please, come down we have much to discuss. Much time to make up for"
Kol grimaces but jumps down "I hope you know Elijah that it is only for you that I am playing nice. You are the only one of my siblings who never turned their back on me. You are the only brother I have left"
"I never abandoned you Kol" Rebekah rushes forward in tears, grasping for her brother but he only pushes her away
"You sided with Nik, you were loyal to him. You may as well have shoved the dagger inside each of your brothers' chests, how Elijah managed to forgive you I do not know, but don't expect the same from me" Kol says coldly
Elijah steps between his siblings "Kol you are being unreasonable, we have all done things we regret, please come back to our home with us and allow us to make those things right"
"Why? So I can be put on Stefan's bunny diet and watch my siblings be turned into mush by these people they supposedly love. Did you see how easy it was for me to have power over all of you? I simply grabbed a weak little baby vampire. Love is weakness and you have all been made weak. I am strong. I will not allow what happened to you all to happen to me"
"Won't allow what to happen Kol? Happiness?" Elijah asks him
"I find happiness in other ways" he smirks
"Well you will stop" Bonnie interrupts the talking originals "or as Elijah stated you will not live to see sunrise"
"Ah the witch speaks" Kol muses "do you really think you can tell me what to do darling?"
"I think I just did" Bonnie punctuates her words with a jolt of magic that throws Kol back
"You're a powerful little thing aren't you" he says slowly
"More powerful than you know. I brought you here didn't I? And I can send you back to the other side just as easily" the lie fell effortlessly from the witch's lips "So I suggest you listen to your family"
"Oh but I'd rather listen to you" he moves predatorily towards her
"Stay back" the witch commands raising the fire higher around her
"Impressive" Kol muses taking a step backwards
Bonnie begins to mutter in Latin yet again as everyone in the clearing yells query as to what she is doing "donec omne manere in praesidio volitum aliud oppidum"
When she finishes the veil is dropped "you're free to go Kol" she says emotionlessly
"What did you do?" he surges forward, stopped again by the flames
"Nothing irreversible, I simply made it impossible for you to leave Mystic Falls until you've learned to control yourself. Now I would suggest you go home with your family"
"Very well" the original concedes with a smile "there is no shortage of townsfolk to be eaten"
"Do that and I will reduce the spell to lock you in the original mansion. I am putting a modicum of faith in you Kol, faith that you can be a better person. Do not make me regret this"
"that's the problem with you women" he looks at Bonnie and then Caroline's still lifeless body "Always trying to change a man. It's not possible, people don't change" and with that he bolts off into town.
Caroline
"Caroline? Caroline love can you hear me?" I can hear a soft accented voice break through the blackness and I can feel myself groan as my eyes begin to blink open slowly
"Is she waking up?" I can hear Rebekah ask
"I think so" I can practically hear the smile on Klaus' lips as I slowly sit up and rub my hand over my sore neck
"No offense" I deadpan to the room full of originals "but your brother is kind of a dick"
They all laugh and Klaus pulls me into his arms "I'm so glad your back"
"Oh stop being so dramatic Nik, it was just a neck snap, one of the perks of being a vampire remember" Rebekah smiles teasingly
"W-where is Kol?" I ask shakily
"I'm right here darling, did you miss me already" the front door swings open to reveal the youngest original brother licking blood off of his fingers
"What did you do!?" I yell standing up quickly
"Oh feisty" he smirks stepping closer "I like that, but not to worry nobody died, your witch friend made it quite clear what the rules were" he snears
"And I'm supposed to believe that you'll just behave, just like that. Maybe you're forgetting that less than an hour ago you snapped by neck!" I yell
"You seam to be forgetting that I could have staked you, I would call that progress, besides can you really blame me for losing my temper- I did just go through a very traumatic experience" he smirks stepping closer, I step back and grimace "oh what's the matter darling, I thought you liked fixing things" he breathes stepping closer "I thought you liked the bad boys"
"How long do you think it would take for your spleen to grow back once I rip it out" Klaus growls pushing me behind him
"Again with the threats brother? And here I thought we were all getting along so well"
"nice, make jokes" I mutter under my breath
"Oo, I see I've hit a nerve. Is someone still a little grumpy over the neck snap? Sorry nothing personal I'm actually glad you're here Caroline" he smiles settling into the chair across from me
"And why is that?" I meet his strong gaze with an icy one of my own
He leans in closer, lips grazing my ear like he's about to share the grandest secret ever "Because I finally have a way to control Niklaus-"
"Kol I sincerely believe that we have had enough of your childish antics!" Elijah states strongly "You will rejoin our family, the only question that remains is whether it will be us or the ones in coffins"
"Such hostility" Kol leers but changes his expression when he catches Elijah's pointed glare "calm down brother I'm only having a bit of fun, is that not allowed?"
"That depends on your definition of fun"
"You've gotten boring in your old age 'Lijah"
"I prefer to think of it as practical"
Before Kol can retort all eyes turn to the stairs where the clicking of heels can be heard coming down
Kol cocks his head to the side "one, two, three, four" he facetiously counts the people in the room "it would appear everyone is accounted for, and yet-" Kol motions to the stairs, zooming up them
"ah yes, I'd forgotten you'd taken in a stray doppelganger, and a human one at that" The second that Kol's fangs start to drop Elijah has him slammed against the railing by his throat
"Show the lady some respect!"
"I don't see a lady" Kol chokes out "just Katherine Pierce"
"How do you know everything that's been happening in our lives?" I ask half curious, half trying to diffuse the situation
Kol's eyes darken as he turns to me "you have no idea what it's like on the other side do you? You'd think you and your friends might look into that having sent so many there-"
"A guilt trip about killing? From you? Seriously?"
"I kill humans! When a human dies they prance off into a golden sunset with the people they love and wait for the rest to join them in eternal bliss! It's practically a gift. When a supernatural dies, we're stuck. Forced to stay on this plane of existence with the living but unable to interact with them, isolated and completely alone. All we have to do all day is look back on every mistake in our lives and watch the people we thought were our family move on and forget about us. Imagine standing right beside your brother but he has no idea, can't hear you, can't see you, and in the case of my family, promptly forgets you ever existed"
For a moment no one speaks, unsure of what to say. It's not as though they could argue with him, they did act as though he was forgotten, though maybe having been kept in a box for so long desensitized the originals to losing their siblings.
"What?" Kol questions bitterly "no more excuses"
"No more lies" Klaus says stepping forward "you are my brother and I will not lie to you anymore. Kol I am sorry, we are all sorry. When I watched the Gilbert boy do that to you, I had never known anger like that and I had every intention of avenging you, but what good would it have done? Killing people only leads to more killing, we act as though you never existed because after a thousand years of losing people that is the only way that any of us know how to deal with death. But we brought you back, and we want to be a family again"
Kol twists his face "I thought you said no more lies!" He screams, tossing Klaus across the room "Do not give me these pathetic excuses, there is only one reason why you did not burn this town and every Gilbert, Salvatore, and Lockwood down with it, and she's sitting right there" Kol points at me angrily "well my family, I suggest you all enjoy the time you have left with those you love, because you tore my heart out. And now I'm going to tear out all of yours" and with that Kol flashes out of the house, his threat lingering in the air
Bonnie
Bonnie watches the angry original seething on the edge of town, her face pulls into a wicked grin at his anger, she knew it. She knew this would happen if she brought him back, he wants revenge. Well that's something she can help him get. Those poor naive originals, believing that crap about nature's balance, yeah right. The only thing that could've brought Kol back was expression, and rest assured that he was the only one who came back. The rest of his line remains dead. Luckily for her no one saw the three she sacrificed earlier in the day to bring him back. To bring him back so that she could use him, use him against every abomination in this town. She may have once called some of them friends, but now with this dark power coursing through her veins she could see clearly. Now she knows the monsters that they are. She can play the good friend, she can send Damon and Elena away for "safety", but in the end it will not matter how far any of them runs because by the time Bonnie is done with Kol, he will be the only vampire left on earth.
With that thought she steps slowly out of the shadows, the evil expression still twisted onto her features
"You want revenge. That is something I can help with."
Duh duh duh! OOOOO Evil Bonnie! What do you guys think of this evil alliance? I always loved expression Bonnie, she was so kick ass- plus her and Kol could be like the best evil couple ever! Like it? Hate it? Let me know in a review! I miss you guys! Talk to me! Thanks for reading!
The Originals- Oh wait… I can't really call it that anymore since IT ONLY HAS 2 ORIGINALS! What just happened? Rebekah leaving? Are you kidding me? Like are you actually serious? I think Julie Plec should publish a book called 'How to ruin a TV series in 3 easy steps'
Step 1: Completely ignore the most popular relationship on the entire CW network (Because klaroline was hottest couple this year, and in all the polls they are literally the only CW couple who makes it even though they've been totally ignored!)
Step 2: Make everyone completely out of character (Klaus trying to kill Rebekh, Elijah falling in love with the magical fairy werewolf princess, Klaus not ripping Camille's stupid heart out, ect)
Step 3: Remove literally one of the only 3 reasons people keep watching the show! (That was just the final nail, are you kidding? Let's not have Cami leave or Hayley or someone that would actually make sense, no no let's get rid of Rebekah who everyone loves! And make her leave totally alone, completely trashing the romance she's had for the past half a season? Really)
I just can't believe it… I can't!
If they were smart they would realize that now there's room for another blond vampire who Klaus loves… but I think we all know that they are NOT smart…
*Sigh*
