~ Love is Complicated 9 ~
Hello everyone! How are you doing? Fine I hope. Well, this is another update of Love is Complicated, I know, I know, Crazy Days hasn't updated in a while, sorry, I have to re-read it and remember where exactly I want it to go, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll try to have it up as soon as possible, so until then, I'll be mostly updating this one. Hope you enjoy.
~~~Gakupo's P.O.V~~~
I sighed as Luka and I continued our drive to Rin's house, seriously not believing she'd gotten all six of us to ditch the Friday before we got out the two weeks for fall intersection. I looked over at Luka, who was in the passenger seat of course, and examined her outfit, a tight black camisole, dark blue skinny jeans, a darkish purple color ankle boots, and a large white hoodie, pretty similar to my faded jeans, blue jacket, and long sleeved white shirt.
I looked over at the road, making sure no one was in the cross walk before making my turn towards the school. I could have found another route to take, but passing the school was fastest. Out of my side view, I saw Luka all but duck and hide so no bystanders would see her. I stiffened a laugh at her behavior.
"This isn't the first time we ditched school together you know." I say, watching as she looked at me from under her shaded glasses.
"May I remind you, I was actually sick that time? I wasn't the one deciding we'd just skip a day to skip one." she replied, easing a little, seeing as we passed the school. "My brother's going to kill me..."
I didn't want to be the one to remind her that her brother has done much worst during his high school years, and trust me, he has told us lots of stories about his days at this place. It's a wonder how no teacher has a grudge against the Megurine family... "I highly... doubt that." she glares. "If you're worried about missing work, just look on the school's website. It'll have it all, besides, most teachers saw this coming, and gave us the work yesterday."
"I'm not sure if that helps..."
"Well, if we stopped by the store and picked up some salmon, would you be more accepting towards this situation-"
"Step on it."
I laughed at her semi-serious face, stepping on the accelerator as the red light turned green. After a minute of lovely melody of the radio-or CD player, whichever explains more-I pulled into the parking lot of the store close to the park where Kaito confessed the Miku.
I stopped the car and pulled the keys out the ignition before looking at Luka's shocked face. "I thought you were playing."
"I was." I said, opening the door slightly, I don't want to hit the incorrectly parked car next to me. "I'm not going to buy you salmon today, so I'm just going to buy you some candy." I pocket my keys, walking over to the passenger door and opening it for her. "You aren't coming?"
She sighs before stepping out the car, I stepped back to give her room to get out. "Fine, I don't approve of this though."
"I don't mind it." I wait for her to move before shutting the door behind her, pressing the lock button on my key ring, and waking away, hearing the lock sound the car makes. Walking in the store, I grab her hand, pulling her to the candy aisle, "Okay, pick out as much candy as you want."
"Seriously?" she looks at me, amusement gleaming in her eyes. "What am I? A five year old?"
I pout, pointing at her as if I was scolding her. "Well you'll be five today, now pick out some candy."
"Yes sir." she laughs, walking down the aisle, scanning for the candy she wants. I just stand at the beginning of the aisle; it's the beginning of the school day, so there're no little kids running around this aisle, so it's basically empty. I watch her face as she excitedly look for a certain type of candy. I'm sure most people would probably rush you and tell you to hurry up so you could leave, but I left her alone. You don't usually see Luka this railed up before, especially not for candy. Seeing this expression of joy on her face is relaxing, it makes you realize Luka isn't always mature-looking; she's very cute as well. "Gakupo, I found which one I want!"
"Oh?" I say, walking over to her, seeing her with a small bag with a picture of a single piece of candy that was a swirl of pink and white. "What's this one?"
"Well, you really don't see a lot of people eating this one, but my mom use to always bring Luki and I these when she worked at the place by 7eleven." she explained, a big smile plastered over her face. "It's a strawberry and cream flavored candy."
"Sounds good." I say, taking it from her, looking at the fancy cursive letters that told the name of the candy. No wonder you don't see a lot of kids eating this, it's obviously candy for grown-ups... if that makes sense. "Anything else?"
"And this Hersey's bar." she picked up a Hersey's bar about the length of her arm. I never knew she had such a sweet tooth. I laughed at the 'I have to have it" look on her face before taking it from her.
"Sure, sure. If that's it, how about we go?" I say as I move to walk to the cashier. She nods, before looking back the bags of candy.
"Wait, can I get something for the others?" she says, eyeing a specific bag of candy. I turned to her and raised my eyebrow.
"Well, we were only here for you, but if you want to get the others something, you can." I stopped, moving the Hersey's bar under my arm, walking over to see which candies she was talking about. She picks up a bag like the other one, but the candy on it was white and orange.
"I'll get this one for Rin and Len, it's orange and cream flavor, so I know they'll like it." Well, I'm sure Len's more of a banana person, but I don't think he dislikes oranges, so that's a good choice. "And..." she trails off as she picks up a box of Mike&Ike. "I can get Miku this; she really likes these, so I don't think she'll mind. Hmm, maybe I should just get the arrangement of Tootsie pop for everyone."
I pick up the bag of Tootsie pops, and pull it under the same arm as the Hersey's bar, then grabbed her hand. "Well, since that's decided, we should go before they think we got kidnapped or something unbelievable, right?"
I saw her cheeks pick up a light pink color as she starts walking, slightly dragging me behind her. "Right, we should get going." I chuckled, over stepping, both correcting my balance and stepping ahead of her. We get to the check out, and I pay for everything, it coming out to maybe around nine dollars. I grab the bag before taking Luka's hand again. I'm shocked, I couldn't believe she was letting me hold her hand like this, I mean, really, it's Luka. We walked out, shouting a 'Have a nice day" to the cashier, and waving.
When we get outside, I open the passenger door for her, and handing her the bag of candy before shutting the door and getting in on the driver's side. "So, to Rin's house now?" I say, looking at Luka as she looked down at the bag of candy. "Luka?"
"I kinda feel bad, making you pay for all of this now."
Huh? Oh Luka, you're such a sweetheart. "Don't worry, Luka, I was only about nine dollars."
"But still, I thought about everyone but you and you didn't get any candy yourself."
"Well, just give me some of your candy." I said, putting my hand on hers. "If you're worried about me not getting candy, I could always get some from you or the others. Besides, I was never much of a candy person either way." Okay, maybe that was a lie, but I would only lie if that meant making her feel better.
"Okay." she says shyly, messing with my hand before entangling her fingers with mine, making me gasp at her bold move. "Though, again, I'm sorry for not thinking about getting you something."
"Luka, I said it's fine." I said as I rubbed my thumb against the skin of her hand. "Like I said, we could always share. Now that that's handle, we should get going, right?" she nods, then stiffly let go of my hand.
I slowly reach into my pocket to get the car keys out before starting the car and pulling out the parking lot. After a minute, we were at Rin's house and parked in front. We both sat in car for a while before I looked over at Luka, who had three or four empty candy wrappers on her lap, and was currently unwrapping another. I looked forward, and chuckled; who knew Luka had such a sweet tooth? "G-Gakupo." Luka called me, making me look over at her again. "Here." she had a one of the candy opened, holding it out for me.
I reached out to grab it from here, but she retreated her hand, and lightly placed it on my lips. I jerked away, blushing as I figured out what she was trying to do. I opened my mouth, letting her push the candy piece in my mouth. I look at her red face as she retreated her hand. "I-I thought you should h-have one... b-before we head inside." she explained, packing all the candy back in the bag. "L-let's head in, okay?" I smile, nodding as I pulled the keys out, and got out the car, telling Luka to stay in the car for a moment.
I walked over to her side of the car and opened the door for her, taking her hand as she stepped out the car. I held her hand as we walked to the door, and I gently knocked on it. We waited for a moment before Len answered the door, and let us in. He was wearing blue jean pants that was rolled up to just under his knees, a white and gray stripped shirt under a yellow shirt with a tie design on it and seemed like it was dipped in acid on the left side.
"Hey guys, so happy you showed up." Len said, walking to the kitchen where Rin was. She was wearing a blue parachute skirt over blue shorts, a yellow and darker yellow stripped camisole under an off the shoulder shirt-that she tied at the bottom- with 'Cute" written on it pink. "We were starting to think you guys ditched us and actually went to school."
"I was thinking about it." Luka said, chuckling as she put the bag of candy on the table, grabbing the orange and cream candies out for them. "But then I realized none of you would be at school, so I decided to just come over."
"Cool!" Rin says, taking the bag of candy, making it hard to figure if she's talking about the candy, or the fact Luka decided to come over. I'm hoping the second one. "Glad you could make it." she opened the bag and took out the candy, throwing one to Len.
"So, how long have you been here, Len?" I say, moving to sit at the table with everyone else.
"Hmm?" he answered, sticking a piece of candy in his mouth, looking up to think about the question. "I've been here since about seven in the morning."
"Dressed like that? What did your mom say to you when you left?" Luka asked, taking in his attire as she popped another piece of candy in her mouth. "Didn't she care if you didn't go to school?"
"Well, she did question it when I offered to take Yuki to school, and I told her I wasn't going to go today, and she was worried until I told her I was coming over here. Oh, by the way, my mom says hi."
"Your mom's too laid back sometimes..." I mumbled, sweat-dropping. Everyone chuckled, not really minding the comment I just made. Though, it did seem like Len's mom didn't care what he did as long as he was with Rin... "What have you guys been doing since you were here for about-" I look at my phone, searching for the time. Nine'o clock on the dot. "-two hours?"
"Well, we watched TV, played some video games, and played hide and go seek for a minute, but that got boring since it was only two of us." Rin explained, looking through the bag of tootsie pops for an orange one. "We were waiting on more people until we played again."
"Is that so?" Luka said, sweat-dropping, probably thinking 'we ditched school for this?' I chuckled to myself, thinking of my sudden joke. "So, what are we going to do now? Wait for Miku and Kaito to show up?"
"Oh, they're already here." Rin said, nodding her head. "They came about five minutes before you guys came in."
"Where are they?" I asked, looking around for anything that said they were here. I didn't see their shoes when we walked in.
"Oh, they're upstairs changing." Len explained. "They didn't want their guardians to worry what they were doing ditching school together-"
"-So yesterday, they dropped off some clothes here and walked here with their school clothes on." Rin finished. "Their shoes aren't over there because they brought a change of those too." Luka and I nodded our heads. We heard foots coming down the stairs and walked to the living room to see Miku running down with a pink skirt with black shorts under, knee-high white socks, and an over-sized gray hoodie that I recognized as Kaito's.
"Hey guys." she sang, jumping the last step, almost landing on Rin. "What's up." she looked over at Luka and me, suspiciously. "Rin, did they come with each other?"
"Yes, Miku, they did." Rin said, looking over at us, smirking as if she knew something we didn't.
"Yes." Miku hissed, clutching her hand in a victory motion. "Kaito owes me five bucks."
"You were betting with your boyfriend?" Len asked, raising an eyebrow at her, only for her to shake her head.
"Not betting, just... friendly wagering." she answered.
"Betting nonetheless." Len said, deadpanning, only for Miku to ignoring him by singing the Steven Universe theme song. "How mature..." he mumbled, loud enough for me to hear him. At that, I let out a little laugh, causing him to laugh with me.
I looked up the stairs and saw Kaito coming down, wearing a simple white T-shirt with dark blue jean pants. Well, he did always enjoy the simple things in life. How do you think we explain his infatuation with ice cream? "Hello, Rin's house and all who inhabit it." he says as he hits the last step and throws an arm around his girlfriend.
"Len, did you see that?" Rin says, bumping Len with her shoulder. He nods, getting that same mischievous glance in Rin's eyes.
"Yeah, BaKaito's using big, grown-up words like inhabit." he replies before they both bust out in laughter.
"I'll sit on you. Both. I'm not even kidding." Kaito says, fake-glaring at the two, who continues to laugh.
"Wouldn't be the first time." Rin says, whipping away a fake tear as Len rolls his eyes. "So, since we're all here, and ready, how about a game?"
.o0o.
Seriously, Rin should be a manager or something when she grows up, then again, she does have that whole heir to the family business thing going on for her. But still, there should be a limit to how persuasive you can be. I'm serious, there's no way a normal fourteen year old girl should be able to persuade three juniors, a sophomore, and a freshman to play freaking hide and go seek. It's bad enough she got is to skip school, but then to suggest us to play hide and go seek of all games-well, I don't have anything against the game, it's just... well things never go great for me in the game. Though, I've made it through about four rounds, and nothing bad happened... yet.
I sighed as Luka and I hid inside the small closet. We had the same idea for the hiding space, but I got here first, and I didn't have the heart to tell her to find another, so I told her we'd share. We were behind the coats that were hanging up on the rail; it went from the ceiling to the floor, so we were completely covered if anyone would open the door. It was a decent hiding place, I just kind of wish it was bigger. With all the stuff pushed in here, Luka was practically pressed up against me. We were chest to chest, and she had her hands on the walls behind me to keep herself from falling on me.
I looked down and saw some of Luka's red face. Unknowingly to me, my arms wrapped around her and I almost laughed when she nearly squeaked as her face came in contract with my chest. My hands on her back, I pulled her closer and placed my cheek on the top of her head. She grumbled something before wrapping her arms around my hips, turning her head so her ear was against my chest...
Be still my beating heart.
She must have heard it, for she giggled a little bit. I grunted, rolling my eyes some before moving one of my hands to the bottom of her long, pink locks, twirling it in my fingers before moving my hand to the top of her hair, wanting to run my hands through her soft hair. It's like silk, so soft and-
"Ow!" Luka whispered loudly, jerking as my hand got stuck in the middle. Well, that moment ended unexpectedly.
"Sorry." I say, wiggling my fingers, trying to gently go through her hair. After my hand made it through, she looked up to glared at me, but again, to me it looked like a pout. I would have laughed but she was just too close, and I found myself looking at her lips. I leaned in, bit by bit, getting closer to tasting her. My eyes started to fall as our lips almost touched.
"..Gakupo?" Her voice brought me out of my trance, and I threw my head back, almost hitting it on the wall. What was I doing? I'm a gentleman, and Luka is a lady! I'm sure she doesn't wasn't to have her first kiss in a junky closet during a game of hide and go seek for Pete's sake! I take a few deep breathes, trying to calm myself.
"I-it must be pretty hard to find us right now, huh?" I said, my throat suddenly dry. I chuckle hopelessly as she stares at me.
"Gakupo..." She raises a perfect arched eyebrow and scans my face. I look away and cough before laughing.
"Y-yes?" I answer before I could help myself. After a minute I turn back to her, feeling get stare me down from the side of my face.
"D-did you just-"
"Found you two." Len said as he pulled apart the coats hanging up. He looked at us, raising an eyebrow before checking if anyone was behind him then looking back at us. "Am I interrupting something?"
"No." I say, pushing Luka a bit to make her let go, and make my way out of the closet, a bit stiffly if I may add. "Did we lose?" I turn to see Miku, Kaito, and Rin all lined up. "I guess not. Who idea was it to let Len be it?"
"I didn't have a chose. I found him and Rin at the same time, he volunteered." Kaito said, sweating as Rin glared at Len.
"I don't want to this play anymore." Rin yelled, folding her arms as she pouted.
"I'm guessing she was found first." Luka said, finally got her face back the right color.
"Oh yeah." Len said, smiling nervously, probably feeling Rin's extreme glare on his back. "Now she doesn't want to play because she doesn't like losing-"
"I'm fine with losing! It's just you guys cheating it's what messes me up!" Rin yelled. Everyone sighed. She got mad because she's losing the game she suggested... Rin, how childish.
"Besides Rin's losing streak, what should we do now?" Miku asked, grabbing unto Kaito's shirt. "Should we keep playing or no?"
"Maybe we should do something else?" Luka said, ignoring Rin's wails of the word no at Miku's suggestion. "I mean, it'll be no fun if Rin's going to be all sour about it, right?"
"Well, when you think about it like that, I guess that would be a bummer." Kaito said, everyone else agreeing.
"Perfect." Luka said before she grabbed Rin and Miku. "Rin and Miku, come with me for a bit."
"Wait, what are we supposed to do then?" Len said, holding his hand out, making the three of them pause. Rin pointed at the three of us-that being Len, Kaito, and I.
"You're guys. Do guy things." After saying that, they all ran off into Rin's room. "Have fun!"
~Luka's P.O.V ~
"I don't understand why you suddenly wanted me to comb your hair, Luka. Is it something of specific value?" Miku asked as she ran the comb through my hair.
"And I don't understand why you dragged me along." Rin said, going through all her hair accessories for some reason. "I'm hardly doing anything."
"I just need it done." I mumbled looking down embarrassed. The two look at each other then look at me with like something was obvious.
"It's Gakupo related, isn't it?" they both said at the same time. I blushed as they giggled and told me how adorable I was being.
"Please shut up." I squeaked, burying my face in my hands. Why are they so... Embarrassing? Really, I'm the oldest, how come it's easiest to embarrass me?
"So, what happen?" Miku sang, rubbing herself against my back. She stopped to start with my hair again. "Give us the scoop."
"Nothing happened-"
"We already figured it was something, no need to lie, Luka." Rin said, cutting me off. She pulled out a gold clip, looked at me then shook her head, throwing it back in the box. "Come on, we're your friends, we won't make- we won't think of you any different!"
"But you're going to make fun of me, aren't you?"
"We'll cross that bridge when we get there." Rin mumbled, only to be covered by Miku.
"We're only doing it out of love." I glare at them. They smile innocently, and hug me. I sighed, these two with definitely be the death of me. "Please tell us."
I sighed. "Well... Gakupo and I were hiding in the closet-" I paused, waiting for either of them to say anything negative. "-and he ran his hand through my hair, and all."
"Awe, how more or less romantic." Miku cooed, placing a hand over her heart. I rolled my eyes, well, it was romantic, the closet thing would have set most people off, but I really didn't mind it too much, it did force us to get close together. I blushed when I remembered when Gakupo pulled me into his chest. "I don't understand what this has to do with combing out your hair-" she stopped when she and Rin figured out the reason. "Oh..."
"Luka, I'm sure Gakupo didn't mind it much..." Rin said, putting a comforting hand on my knee. I buried my face into my hands as I sighed drastically. "Come on, Luka, he probably thought it was cute. No need to beat yourself up about it. As long as it wasn't stringy or anything." I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to feel about that?
"Rin, you suck at making people feel better." Miku commented, her eyes narrowing at said girl. Rin glared at Miku, crossing her arms.
"I don't know what to say here, I've never had this problem or anything. What do you want me to do exactly?"
"I don't know, give better advice?"
"Guys, let's not start this." I say, pulling a pouting Rin in for a hug. I pat her head as she relaxes. Rin's like a kitten sometimes, it's really cute. "Rin, your advice really made me feel better, thank you."
"But Luka, you don't have to let that thing bother you." Miku said, wrapping her arms around my shoulders from behind, pulling me into a backwards hug. "Besides, worst things could happen. You probably got off really easy compared to other girls."
I giggled a bit as Rin pulled me to my feet, Miku helping by pushing me a tad. "Come on, let's go meet up with the boys, they're probably bored out of their minds." Rin said, pulling me to the door.
"Yep! Those boys need some of mama loving!" Miku yelled, skipping behind me. I laughed while Rin groaned at the comment. Miku, you dork.
As we passed the door, a vibrating phone caught our attention. "Rin, why is this contract named 'Don't freakin' pick up'?" Miku asked, picking up the phone by the top corner with her thumb and index finger. I looked over her shoulder, seeing that the number had called since school started two hours ago. Rin groaned, rolling her eyes.
"Gosh, he's calling again?" She grabbed the phone from Miku, ignoring the call before blocking the number. It rang a few seconds after she put it down.
"Now it's 'Unknown'." I said, a blank look crawling on my face. Seriously, no one is this slow, you've been calling for two hours straight Mr. Weirdo, it's most likely you. "You should pick up." I said, picking up the phone, putting it in her hands. "Tell him to stop calling you."
Rin sighed, waiting for the phone to stop ringing. "Later, let's just go watch TV."
"You're hiding from your problems..." Miku said, sighing as she leaned against me. "Rinny, you're being a baby. Face your problem like little, man Rinny would."
"I take offense to that-"
"Doesn't make it not true." I cut her off, chuckling evilly with Miku as Rin puffed out her cheeks, stomping in a little tantrum she usually does.
"Whatever! It's my problem. I'll deal with it when I feel like it!"
"How long do you expect him to tolerate you ignoring him?" I asked, watching as the phone began a few little vibrates. Oh God, is he texting her now? Man, that's desperate...
"Not long actually..." She says, shifting left to right on her feet. "Until... senior year at the most-"
"Senior year-?" Miku yells, just as shocked as I am. Seriously, Rin can't be that afraid to confront the boy.
"At the most-!"
"That's still three years from now, Rin." I say, cutting her off. She gives me a hopeful smile, hoping maybe I'd drop the issue. How wrong. "You aren't scared of him, are you?"
"Never." Rin gives me a serious stare, seemingly almost offended by the question. "Is just... that boy never listens to me. It's terrible talking to him because it's like everything that comes out my mouth is like I'm flirting with him. It's troublesome, so I'm not doing it-"
"But it has to be done." Miku probed, scowling at what Rin just told her. "Len's probably going to be upset if he hears about this... I mean, he's already punched the boy in the face once..."
"Don't tell Len. I'll handle it, okay?" She says, looking, well, more glaring, at the phone. "After break. That Monday we get back."
"I don't know whether you're procrastinating, or are just too lazy to actually fix the problem now." I say as she pushes Miku and me to the door.
"Maybe a bit of both, but it's water under the bridge at the moment." Rin says, closing the door behind us. "Let's go find the boys."
We were all now downstairs, Gakupo and I sitting on the couch, watching TV, Miku and Kaito were sharing the love seat while Rin and Len were in the kitchen, getting some snacks for the movie marathon we were about to watch. Gakupo and I were talking, and I started to play with the ends of my hair, something I wouldn't usually do.
Why doesn't he get that I want him to play with my hair? Aren't I giving him to tell-tell signs? Am I not being assertive enough?
I bring my tired arm down and reach for a piece of candy. I sighed before unwrapping it and putting it in my mouth. I peak over at him as he calmly watches the TV. Could it be that he's afraid to? What if I traumatized him, and he's never going to try running his hand through my hair again! No, I don't want that!
I shake my head, getting Gakupo's attention as his eyes shift to my hair. "Is everything alright, Luka?" I laugh nervously, patting my head at the top to calm my hair. He reached up to help me, and, as he finished, cupped some hair in his palm, running down its length until it got to the tip of the last string of hair. Suddenly, he pulled back really fast with an adorable blush on his face. "S-sorry, I didn't- I'm- I didn't mean to do that-it's just that, your hair- it's that your hair is just, um, well, err, it's nice and really silky, so I just... sorry."
"Um, no, I don't mind at all-" it's not running your hand through my hair, but it's hella close. "-it's not like I hated it or something, it was relaxing and stuff, and I mean, well, it was nice-"
"Can you two just stop babbling at each other and just make out already?" Kaito said with a dull look on his face as Miku giggled. "Seriously, there's just, like, tension-" here, he used the hand that Miku wasn't laying on to make an octopus motion at us, "-coming from the both of you. You guys literally want each other."
"It's very obvious, just start dating. Gakupo, I will literally give you every eggplant in my house if you kiss her, right now." Miku bribed him; I look over to the said bribed man to see him wavering.
"That was nice, I like that." Kaito whispers to Miku, using one hand to cup his mouth, almost as if we couldn't hear him. Miku copied this action, playing along with Kaito's stupidity.
"The trick is to know what to bribe him with."
"Oh, that's good. How about Luka? Let's do her next."
"Gakupo's already wavering; we just need to work on Rin and Len next."
"Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe after Gakupo and Luka become a couple they'll help-"
"No one wants to help you try to be cupid!"
"Try?" Miku said, offended apparently. "Lady, I am the epitome of cupid. Don't you dare disrespect."
"Okay, we got the snacks!" Rin yelled, she and Len walking in the living room with arms filled with varies chips, ice creams, cones, and other sugary, cavity-causing candies and junk food. "The atmosphere smells dramatic..." She said with caution as she sat everything down on the table.
"Quite." Len stated, moving over next to Rin to put some more stuff on the table. "It's probably better than the movie we were going to watch, so can we just add on to this?"
Len looks at me with a sly smirk. That little-! Was he looking on at us the whole time?! I open my mouth to protest, but Miku bet me to it, seeming to want to continue this 'joke' conversation.
"Well, of course you can, Len. Why don't we talk about you and Rin? What's up with you two? Ready for dating yet-" She answered, picking her hand up, lifting her pinkie before wiggling it at the two. The two blushed and I hide my smile behind my hand. Those two are too cute.
"W-well, what about you and Kaito!" Rin answered, pointing at Miku, not really denying what say, but not altogether accepting it either.
"What about us?" Miku questioned, leaning back into Kaito, who wrapped his arms around her waist, with a smug smile on her face, almost as if saying: 'Try me.'
"W-well, Kaito's a junior-" Rin starts of shaking-ly, almost as if she want sure she wanted to say it out not. "-I'm sure he's letting you I'm on some super, *special* junior secret."
"What do you mean?" Miku asked as Kaito's jaw dropped with Gakupo and mine did as well. She doesn't know what she's getting at... Miku, you're at least a year older than Rin, and you can't pick up what she's throwing at you? Did you even go to Sex Ed? Like, at all?
"Well," she sang, smirking as the color drained from Miku's face. Yep, she's in for it. "I'm pretty sure Kaito really wants to show you his-"
"Rin! That's lewd!" Len yelled, thankfully cutting her off as Miku got the picture and she and Kaito blushed. "And totally unexpected..."
"They started it." Rin started, crossing her arms and turning away from him. She pouted, but you could clearly see the smirk trying to poke out.
"Yeah, but you didn't have to take it to that level." Len argued, placing his hands in his hips in a scolding motion. They continued their lovers' quarrel as Miku and Kaito shifted, embarrassed at the small girl's comment.
Len was right, this is better than the movie.
After many hours at Rin house doing absolutely nothing but playing and eating junk food, we all decide it was about time school got out, so we could go our separate ways. Miku and Kaito had gone on a date, and Rin cooed as they walked away from the house, calling them a cute couple and other things like that...
You'd think with her awesome relationship advice and bold attitude, she'd snag Len by now.
I jumped in the car and Gakupo closed the door and walked over to the other side, I rolled down the window to tease them a bit, reminding them what happened the last time they were in Rin's house by themselves; they blushed, and tried to come up with a comeback, but Gakupo and I had already driven off. Those two are just too fun to tease every once in a while.
Oh, do you guys remember that promise Gakupo made about watching some anime together? Well, yeah, we're going to his house to watch some. I would mention that I'm not much into anime, but I want-like really want- to spend this time with Gakupo.
He followed the routine of getting out, letting me out, and locking the doors he'd just started to follow, and we headed towards the door to his apartment building. After saying our hellos to the desk lady, we made our way up to the elevator. Gakupo had a nice floor, not too high at the top, but high enough to look over the buildings, getting a nice view of the sky. When you think apartment, you'd usually think dark, dull with ripped wallpaper and carpeting, but this one was nice, like the Suite Life of Zack and Cody kind of nice. We got to a white door with the gold trimming on the hinges. He pulled out a key and unlocked the door, pushing it open so I could walk in first.
There was a little floor area where you take off your shoes, it formed a little box before it was cut off by some gold-like trimming, after that, everything as far as my eyes could see-excluding the kitchen, has a cream colored carpet. My jaw dropped went I seen the flat screen hanging on the wall adjacent to the cream couch with the red pillows sitting on top. There was a balcony, a slide door that lead out to it with a wonderful view over the buildings. You could even see the beach from here!
The room was absolutely breathtaking.
Gakupo chuckled behind me as he closed the door. "Is it too much?" I opened and closed my mouth, not having too much to say, so gulping my mouth like a fish was all I could resort to. I mean, come on, my brother and I live in an apartment, but this is just... Beautiful. "We could always go to your house." Like hell.
"No, no it's alright." I laughed nervously as I take off my shoes. He follows suit and guides me over to the couch.
"Would you like something to drink?" he said as he made his way to what I presume is the kitchen. "Did you ever eat that chocolate? Would you like some milk with it?"
"Oh," I said, reaching into my purse/backpack thing-y and pull out the chocolate he brought earlier. I'm actually surprised it fit. "Sure, that would actually be pretty good right now. It's only milk chocolate though. It's not that necessary." as I finished my sentence, he walked in with a large cup of milk. He looked at the sky through the walk-in glass doors that led to the balcony.
He set the cup on the table before talking. "It's a good thing we got here when we did, it's about to start pouring soon." I followed his glance and saw dark storm clouds begin to form and little rain drops started falling. I nod.
"I feel bad for Kaito and Miku though." I answered as I unwrap the chocolate, braking off a piece and setting it on my tongue, letting it melt, my tongue rolling around in my mouth, residue of chocolate on my gums, cheeks, and tongue.
"Yeah, knowing Kaito, he didn't even look at the weather report." He looks at me and smiled. "How about we watch some TV now?"
"Sure."
He walked over and sat next to me as I pull one leg under me, moving closer to him a few inches. He flips through the channels. "Is there anything you want to watch?"
"Not really, I don't watch much anime-" I bit my lip as Adventure Time pops up on the TV before changing into another cartoon. "-so I don't know the scheduling for it."
"Luka?" He asked, momentarily stopping on a jewelry selling channel. "What's wrong?" I laugh nervously as he raises an eyebrow. "Did you see something you like?"
"N-no, it's fine. Keep channel-surfing." I say, trying to stable my wavering voice. Usually, if it were someone else, they would have continued, but Gakupo. Oh but Gakupo.
He leaned into me closer, causing me to back up some. "Are you sure nothing's wrong?"
"It's fine-"
"-Are you lying?" I jumped at the forwardness of the question. No beating around the bushes, huh? I opened my mouth to tell him I wasn't, but he didn't me the chance. "Luka, you don't have to lie, if you want to watch something, you can just tell me."
I blushed a little, before mumbling, "C-can we watch Adventure Time?" I closed my eyes, waiting for him to laugh or make fun of me, or maybe even tell me how childish it was, but all I heard were the buttons on the remote being pressed, then Finn's voice. I looked at Gakupo, mild shock on my face as he leaned back, watching the TV while putting his arm behind me.
"Well, don't look so shocked." he said, an amount of amusement in his voice. I bit my lip as I look toward the TV screen with amusement, and excitement in my eyes. "You look so happy." he lightly chuckled.
"Be quiet." I pouted as he pulled me into him, making me lean on his chest. I cuddled into his chest, putting most of my weight on him, comfortably sat as I tucked both my legs under me. Soon, the show was over.
"Why would you be so afraid to tell me you wanted to watch this?" he asked as the end credits rolled passed. I look off unto the side as he turned his head to look at me. "Luka?"
"... I thought you'd make fun of me..."
"Now why would I do that?" He moved so that he could look me in the face, his face lost all the amusement it one had before, now having a very serious look. I look away for a few seconds before he gently grabs my chin with his pointer finger and thumb and lightly turned me to him. "Luka, answer me."
"B-before... m-my dad… my d-dad said—" I stuttered, a little intimidated by his suddenly serious glance. "— that I-I'm... I'm t-too old. I-it makes me seem... childish."
His shoulders slumped in relief, almost as if he was expecting something worst. "Luka, you don't have to worry about those kinds of things with me." his hand moved from my chin to my shoulders, his thumbs caressing them gently as if I would break if he was too rough. "I like you, Luka." my breath stopped for a minute. Of course, him being Gakupo, it's not the first time he confessed his feelings for me, but this is the first time he's done it, and it made my heart flutter this much; I feel as if it's about to bust out of my chest! "I'll like you no matter who you are; whether you're the smart, mature Luka, or the cute, shy Luka you were in kindergarten, or this adorable, childlike Luka with a sweet tooth—" he smiled fondly at me, like I was some foreign, beautiful piece of art. His hands went up to my heated cheeks, slowly getting closer to face. "—I'll always like you for you, Luka, because no matter what you act like, you'll still be you at the end of the day." By the time he was done talking his face was inches away from mine, but he still had yet to kiss me. He stayed there for a second, letting out breathes mingle. Finally, he made a little laugh-like sound before, "May I have this pleasure, dear Luka?"
I take a deep breathe through my nose before nodding, and he closed the distance between the two of us. The kiss was gentle, but captivating, a mixture of something so intimate and passionate, and something so sweet and caring. We pulled back slowly, but quickly connected our lips together again. Mesmerized, our lips press together time after time again, not even registrating the TV anymore. With just the two of us there, the rest of the world disappears, and it's just the two of us in this magical place. My mind is filled with nothing else but Gakupo and my hands go up to grab at the front of his shirt.
He finally pulled away, permanently this time, at least, for now. I try to move up, to press my lips against his, to taste those addicting lips again, but he ducks down, puts his head on my shoulder, and wraps his arms around my waist in loving, tight embrace, and all I can think is, 'this was next best thing'.
I wrap my arms around his shoulders, and he smiled into my neck. "Does this mean you like me now?"
I let a small smile grace my face, and I rub his back gently and slowly. "Well, I wouldn't know what else it would mean."
"I'll take that as a yes." he chuckles, and I soon join in before kissing his head despite the sudden surge of embarrassment that started in the pit of my stomach. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that."
"So you did try to kiss me in Rin's closet earlier?"
"Yeah, but then I realized how unromantic that sounded. So I voted against it."
"I don't think I would have minded too much, I mean, it's not like I necessarily wanted you to kiss me, but I wouldn't have opposed to it." Gosh, that sounded so... tsundere...
"I was just thinking you wouldn't want our first kiss to be in a closet during a game of hide-and-go-seek."
"That happens to a lot of girls-"
"-Yeah, but you are a lady, Luka, therefore, I wouldn't disrespect you in such a way— not mentioning the fact Len, and Rin was about two feet away from the door, and Rin would have drilled me about being, and I quote, 'a wolf a sheep's clothing'."
I chuckled a bit before looking at him, making sure he could see me. "Oh yeah, I always meant to ask why you and Rin were always so close."
"Hmm, I thought I already explain that." I shook my head as the look on his face screamed, 'I didn't?'; he pulled away from the hug, but purposely kept his hands laying on my waist. "Well, Rin and my father were very close in collage-"
"-Define very close in collage-"
"-They were drinking buddies. They were close in the -'Hey-lets-grow-old-together-in-every-way-except-the-gay-way-but-if-you-rolled-that-way-you'd-be-on-my-list kinds drinking buddies." I giggled.
"Like you and Kaito?"
"Basically." he chuckled at the comparison, making me laugh again with him. "Not to mention they became business partners, and stayed close throughout the years. Rin's dad introduced my dad to my mom, and the rest is history. Rin's dad deemed himself my godfather after I was born, and, after Rin was born, we played together a lot since we were too 'unique' for other kids—"
"—You two were too weird to make other friends, huh?"
"... Yes." I died.
.o0o.
So, we finally got to that anime watching thing, and even though I'm not very much into the stuff myself, it was very interesting. After watching a movie called 'Howl's Moving Castle', and seeing the credits on the screen, I turn to Gakupo to see him staring at me fondly.
"W-what?" I asked, pink lightly dusting my complexion. "Is there something on my face?"
He smiles fondly at me again before answering, "Nothing but that adorable blush of yours." it must have grown because he chuckled, causing me to glare at him.
"That's not funny."
"I'm not laughing at you, sugar, I'm laughing with you." he makes sure to entangle my fingers with his before placing an endearing kiss on my noise.
"Gaku-"
"Luka." he says, nuzzling my nose with his. "I had fun with you today." I gulp at our closeness, nervous that he might kiss me again. Not that I would mind much... but it's not like I'm looking forward to it... too much, I mean. "C-can we... can we do this again?"
"Do this?" I asked, confused. 'This', as in everything we did today? Watch cartoons, anime, eat chocolate, and... kiss?
"Um, yeah, 'this', except..." his voice starts to cut off in the middle of the sentence, like he forgot it, or was waiting for my answer. I wonder what he's thinking... sudden nervousness comes over me at the possibility that he wants to exclude the kissing bits next time; like, what if he realized he didn't like me as much as he claimed?!
"E-except?"
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breathe through his nose before opening them, a new found determination in them, and I find myself mesmerized by them. "Except, will you be my girlfriend next time?" his voices comes out in a low whisper, almost as if he's begging, his voice coming out just a tad bit deeper than usually, and I can hardly think anything over how slick of a fucker—excuse my French—this guy is.
I don't even remember answering his question before I found myself kissing again.
