OH MY GOSH! I AM SOOO SORRY I HAVENT UPDATED IN LIKE FOREVER! Everything has just been so hectic, I mean with homework and actual work... not to mention I went camping on the weekend which by the way was annoying because it was raining and it was all muddy and freezing!

I think I caught a cold from that... *cough* haha

"Why not just let that Naru kid look after him because after all, he is Gene's father."

I nodded my head in agreement. "You have a point, but I don't know...Its hard to explain."

He just shrugged before holding the door for the house open, only now did I realize that we were at the entrance. I looked at him and sent him a weary smile, this house felt really evil and I really didn't want to go inside. A shiver went down my back which Zero must have noticed because he took my free hand and gave it a squeeze, gently pulling him inside with him. "Dont worry, you'll be warmer inside..."

I tried to smile at him but I failed, as soon as the door closed behind us, I felt some cold hands place themselves on my shoulders before a familiar voice blew past my ear making me shiver even more.

"He's next..."

I gulped and clutched Gene tighter to me before I turned to Zero. "Please tell me you just heard that."

He looked at me and shook his head "Heard what?"

"Oh crap." I looked desperately at the boy before me. "Please show me to base now. I have to tell the others about this, and Naru..." I looked down, shaking the images of Naru dying out of my head and concentrated on the problem at hand.

I felt a tug on my hand and looked down to see Zero's hand gently pulling mine, I gave a small smile and followed him up the stairs and down a few halls. My mind was barely registering the rooms we passed because my thoughts were still to preoccupied with the creepy voice right next to my ear, while we were walking I felt something pulling me to a room we passed, an invisible tug around my waist causing me to stumble slightly. I looked behind me and felt myself go into a daze, my grip on Zero's hand fell but my grip on Gene stayed tight, I could just hear somebody calling my name but I couldn't control my body.

I felt my legs start to move on their own, going back the way we just came and down a few more halls that I didn't even know were there. A few seconds passed and I could hear the voice calling my name getting smaller until they just disappeared, I mentally took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down but before I knew it, me and Gene were thrown into a room and the door slammed shut behind us, the sound of a lock was the only noise there apart from my heavy breathing. I stood up and searched around for the light switch, not before making sure that Gene was right next to me, and turned it on, wincing slightly at the brightness.

I pulled the little boy closer to me and closed my eyes before taking a deep breath and opening them again, I looked around the room trying to stay as calm as possible for Gene's sake. 'This room looks awfully familiar...' I tried to think back to a time where I could have seen it and then it hit me, this was the room where I got attacked by Takumi, I shudder at the memory and unconsciously brought my hand up to my throat where the bruises once were.

I picked up the boy who was held closely to my legs and placed him on my hip, hiding his face in my chest. For a 4-year-old, he seems very calm, I pulled back for a second and looked at his face only to scream and throw him away from me. The boy who supposed to be Gene was a lifelike doll with a crooked smile and jagged teeth showing, staring straight at me with an evil gleam in its eyes. I turned around and started pounding hard on the door. "HELP! OH GOD SOMEBODY PLEASE! GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!"

I was still pounding hard on the door so I didn't hear the sound of someone's feet being dragged against the floor, getting closer to me. I started shivering and whimpering, tears streaming down my face like a waterfall, I took a moment to decide that if this was going to be my fate, I wasn't going to be a wimp and that I was going to be brave. I stood up straight and took a deep breath with new-found courage but once I turned around and found the doll less than an inch away from me with a knife in its hand, my courage disappeared and I screamed louder than before and kicked the doll into the wall but not before its arm which held the knife came in contact with my thigh and cut me.

I could feel blood trickling down my leg but I didn't care, I was now more focused on getting out of that room then ever. I reached my hand back and started pulling on the door handle, never taking my eyes off the doll because I knew if I turned around that it would just be back again. I whimpered again and pulled harder on the door, I could feel myself losing consciousness from the blood loss but before I fell into darkness, I whispered for help and fell to the floor.

(Naru Pov)

The door to base banged open and I looked up briefly to see Zero come rushing into the room with my son in his arms, I glared at him but he just ignored it looking around the room frantically. I opened my mouth to say something but got cut off.

"Have any of you seen Mai? One minute she was right next to me, the next I had this kid in my arms and Mai missing!" His voice was laced with panic and worry.

I motioned for him to put Gene down and he came rushing over to me and jumping into my lap, bursting into tears and hiding his face in my chest. "D-Daddy! I want Mummy! His voice was wobbling and it was hard to understand him but because of my intelligence, I could understand him.

I glared at nothing when he called Mai his mother but shrugged it off. I had to find Mai before that idiot did something completely stupid, I picked up Gene off my lap and placed him on the floor, giving his head a rub.

"We're going to find Mai."

After those words were said I heard a faint scream which I recognised immediately and bolted out of the room and making my way to the source of the scream, I had no clue where I was going but for some reason my body did. I found myself in front of a room no less than a minute later and I saw something trying to open the door, I was in shock for a second before I heard a small 'Help' and then nothing.

I recovered quickly and started pushing on the door to open it but it wouldn't budge, I tried for at least 5 minutes but when it wouldn't even open a little bit, I did the one thing I knew no one would ever want me to resort to but this was Mai and even if I didn't want to admit it to myself...I cared for the stupid girl.

I focused on the door and then closed my eyes to get a better hold of my powers before I opened my eyes and brought my hand up to the door and released a small amount of power but it was enough to blow the door off the hinges, I quickly made my way inside the room and saw Mai laying in a pool of her own blood. My stomach tied itself in knots at the sight of her hurt, I bolted over to her side and lifted her into my lap, checking for a pulse.

I found her pulse but it was becoming weaker, I looked to the source of the blood loss and found a big red stain on her right thigh, I ripped off some of her shirt and tied it around the cut to stop the bleeding for a while. I could feel the effects of my power slowly creeping up on me but I didn't care, If Mai died I couldn't live with myself, I whipped out the walkie-talkie from my pocket and called out to Lin.

"Naru? Where are you?"

"I'm in a room somewhere between the kitchen and the lounge, hurry up. Mai's been cut and I don't think she can survive any longer with the amount of blood she's lost."

I didn't hear anything on the other side and I could feel myself getting weaker, a bead of sweat making its way down my forehead and onto the floor. My breathing was getting harder but I had to pretend I was fine or Lin would be pissed, not that I was scared of him in the least. A second later I heard some movement and a sound from Lin.

"I called an ambulance and they'll be here as quick as they can. Just stay put and don't move her, we'll be there in a minute."

I glared at the floor. "Do you really think I'm going to be moving anywhere?" I snapped at him but he didn't reply, I put the walkie-talkie back inside my jacket just as all my effort disappeared and I collapsed onto Mai into darkness.
