Bad Day Cure

Chapter 10

The details Demyx glimpsed of the Mansion amazed him. Zexion's home was by far the most beautiful he'd ever seen, not that he was getting much time to see it. They turned a corner and Demyx tripped over his feet a little. Zexion looked back at him, his slate hair falling over one of his eyes as he smiled, helping the blond regain his balance. Then, he led him backward, pressing him against the door to a random bedroom and kissing him on the lips. Demyx gasped when Zexion opened the door and pushed him into the room.

Their lips and tongues clashed in silent passion and their bodies tangled together, until Demyx pulled away with a chuckle, finding a safe place for his Sitar. Once he had, Zexion, the domineering little thing, had him on the bed. Demyx grinned, falling backward, his expression blissful. Zexion quirked an eyebrow at him, making his smile even bigger.

"I've never been on a real bed before," the blond explained, his voice dreamy. The slate-haired man smirked.

"How is it?"

"It's really great! I love it!" he replied enthusiastically. Their eyes met and Demyx's expression became serious. "Your home is beautiful, you have many wonderful things. I'm not quite used to it," he explained. Zexion looked thoughtful.

"Pick something then, name it and it's yours," he told the blond. Demyx sat up, looking serious. He took Zexion's hands into his own.

"I couldn't possibly… you're more than enough," he whispered, his heart pounding. Zexion's pale cheeks colored and Demyx tugged him closer, surprised at the man's modesty.

"I want you to have something," he told the blond. Demyx smiled, pulling Zexion down, into a kiss.

"You're enough," he murmured again, against the man's lips.

"I've heard tragic news of Radiant Garden, and Hollow Bastion in recent months. Tell me what you know about this," Zexion murmured into his tea. Demyx was by his side, watching the blond man he was speaking to nervously, biting on his lower lip. Something about this man named Seifer didn't sit well with him.

"Sir, the towns were completely massacred and burnt to the ground," the blond nodded affirming his master's suspicions. "Both were visited by a group of outsiders, just before," he said, looking at Demyx pointedly. "Mister Strife over in Radiant Garden, sent out a message to the surrounding towns, asking if they'd heard of the entertainers who are on the posters around our town. This' from Radiant Garden," he explained, revealing the flier that Cloud had sent out. Zexion smiled into his tea, his suspicions about Roxas confirmed. His eyes locked with the other man's before his employee could get too protective.

"Seifer, get some men and gather the entertainers in the square, I have business with their leader, Xemnas." The boy nodded respectfully. "Make sure you treat them well. Don't hurt anybody."

"Yes sir," he replied. Demyx swallowed, watching him go.

"Zex… Zexion, what happens now?" he whispered, his heart stuttering as he watched the man. He was so beautiful... The shorter man took the blond's hand, looking into his eyes, smiling warmly.

"I'm going to liberate you."

Roxas smiled, holding the red-head close. They were dressed now, but hadn't gotten far yet, that morning. "Should we go back soon?" He asked Axel. The taller man smiled softly at Roxas.

"I don't want to," he told the blond, kissing him deeply. "I really don't."

The pair froze, hearing a noise. "What was that? Do you think Xemnas is looking for us?" Roxas asked. There was fear in his voice. He didn't like the man, not one bit. Axel listened for a moment.

"I'm not sure," he replied, kissing the blond again. They parted and Roxas smiled softly, just before Axel's eyes widened. Men had surrounded them. Men with guns. Instinctively he shielded Roxas but that didn't stop them from being pulled apart. The blond screamed his name before they were separated and drug off to the square.

When the men finally released them, Axel and Roxas both noticed that the entire group of entertainers as there with them, except for Naminé and Demyx. Men were guarding them, the men that had brought them here. Roxas gasped when he saw that Xemnas was on a platform with a noose around his neck and Axel took his hand. The looked at one another fearfully before looking for Demyx, who was the last to join them, finding his friends, trying to ensure them that everything would be okay. They stopped talking when man from before, Zexion, climbed the platform and addressed the group as a whole.

"I have gathered you here because know the truth about who you are and I fully intend to protect my town from the lot of you," Axel and Roxas tensed, the red-head holding the smaller boy close, just before Zexion continued, "Do any of you deny that this man forces you to kill and steal?" The group's silence was deafening and Zexion smirked before continuing. "Very wise of you, as I have evidence that supports my suspicions. This type of behavior will not be tolerated in Twilight Town."

Axel gave Demyx a look. "I told you that he was dangerous." The blond was smiling for some reason, looking at the man dreamily. Axel's eyes widened in realization. "Demy, you didn't," he hissed. Demyx shrugged. "What did you do?!"

"Just listen, Axe."

"I have brought you all here today, because I am giving you your lives back," Zexion proclaimed, gesturing to the man with a hangman's noose around his neck and signaling the hangman. Roxas gasped audibly, hiding his face in Axel's chest so that he wouldn't see the grotesque sight when the floor under Xemnas' feet fell away.

"Now that your leader is dead, the rest of you may join us here in Twilight Town but be warned, if any of you cause the chaos this man ordered previously, that person will share the same fate as this man." There were nervous murmurs, as well as murmurs of excitement within the group. Roxas stared up at Axel and Axel stared at Demyx in amazement.

"What did you do?"

"Well, Axe, Nam wasn't doing very well. She's had a horrible cough and has been coughing up blood. Zexion found out and got her what she needed so she'll be okay, in exchange for answers. Naturally… I told him the truth …and then one thing led to another," he said, smiling pleasedly, his gaze travelling over to Zexion. "Everything's gonna be okay." Axel grinned.

"Oh I see, you do have it bad for him," he teased. Demyx blushed darkly while Roxas smiled.

"I haven't felt this way in a long time," he admitted, his voice giving away how he felt before his eyes met his best friend's.

"I think it's really sweet, Axel," Roxas murmured, making the other blond smile.

"I've been meaning to tell you, I think you two should be together, without me," Demyx told them with a grin. "I hope you can understand." Axel smiled and Roxas blushed. Needless to say, Demyx looked confused when the red-head's expression shifted to serious. His heart stuttered when Zexion came to his side, holding out a key to Axel. Hesitantly the red-head took it.

"What's this?" The short man rolled his eyes.

"I wouldn't offer you freedom and the opportunity to live here, then leave you homeless. I have a guest house on my property, since you're so close to Demyx, I thought you two would like to live there. If not, other arrangements can be made." He gave them a small smile. "I did assume correctly that you're lovers, yes?" Roxas and Axel looked at each other. Roxas nodded timidly and Axel looked like he was unsure of what to say. Zexion sighed at the red-head's lack of response, resisting the urge to be crude. "You're welcome."

"Th-thank you, Zexion," Demyx stuttered. Zexion met his gaze.

"Would you mind walking with me Demyx?" The blond blinked before nodding. When they were out of earshot, Demyx couldn't resist asking,

"Why are you being so kind to us?" Blue, blue eyes met aquamarine.

"I believe in giving a hand up to those who need it," he said simply. "Although, I will admit," he said, stopping to study Demyx for a long moment, "I am curious about you and want to take this opportunity to get to know you." The blond blushed.

"There's nothing that great about me," he denied with a fake smile. Zexion gave him a skeptical look.

"Of course not," he agreed, making the blond laugh.

"Demyx," he said softly, his disarming tone catching the blond off guard. "I would like it if you and your sister stayed with me. At least until she is better." Demyx's face flushed, his heart beating out of control.

"Now you're being too kind," he told Zexion.

"Please, accept my hospitality," he said softly. Demyx smiled warmly.

"Okay, but only until she's better," he agreed.

Axel tugged Roxas along. He'd taken him by the hand and they'd set off on their adventure to find the place Zexion had described. When they got to the small cottage, Axel's breath caught. He seemed very excited and when Roxas asked about it, he looked back at the blond with a huge smile on his face.

"I've never had a home before Roxas," he explained, beaming with excitement. He pulled the blond close, kissing his forehead as they went inside and explored. It was quaint and perfect. Roxas was happy to see that Axel loved it so much.

Over the course of the next week and a half, they settled in. Roxas liked it very much, especially with their things personalizing the cottage. Mostly, he enjoyed sharing it with Axel. He loved Axel's newfound enthusiasm, as well as learning about him, now that they were together, just the two of them. Demyx's approval had made both of them feel much better about the way things had turned out.

Axel pulled the small blond close, nuzzling him affectionately and kissing his neck. "Do you like it here?" Roxas nodded.

"I do, I'm really glad that Demyx told Zexion what's going on," he said, "I'm glad that we don't have someone telling us how to live our lives."

"Me too," the red-head purred, kissing the blond, his hands exploring. Roxas kissed him back, moaning into his mouth and Axel pushed his shirt up, feeling his soft skin. They were startled when there was a knock on their door but Axel smiled. "Do you think that's Demy? I haven't seen him for a few days," he said, pulling away, Roxas watched with a soft smile as Axel left him and opened the door. They both blinked in surprise.

"Zexion?" Axel asked. The slate haired man greeted them,

"Axel, Roxas, good evening, may I come in?" Roxas nodded.

"Of course! What can we help you with?" the blond asked. They were both indebted to the man and happy to help. The short man paced a little before seating himself.

"Naminé is better," he murmured, looking mixed about the news.

"Oh that's great!" The red-head chimed in. Zexion grimaced.

"What's wrong?" Roxas asked. The slate-haired man glanced out the window, looking back at his mansion.

"They'll be leaving… Demyx feels that I'm being too kind, offering to have them stay in my home." Axel watched the man, amusedly.

"Don't be such a stiff, he's crazy about you," he cooed. Zexion gave the red-head a dangerous look and Roxas scolded him. Axel shrugged before sighing. "Look, Demy is my best friend, but he's a free spirit. You can't just keep him and domesticate him. You have to let him be free," he explained, "if that's what you're wondering." Zexion nodded slowly. "Trust me, if I know him, and I do, he's been all over you won't be seeing you any less. He's been smiling like an idiot when he looks at you. He's had it bad ever since he saw you." Zexion flushed, smiling a little.

"Thank you, Axel, Roxas. If you need anything, feel free to ask," he replied, chatting with them a while longer and inviting them over sometime in the near future, before taking his leave.

xXx

Zexion caught the blond in his peripheral vision, his mouth opening before closing. Demyx seemed to do strange things to him that rendered him utterly incompetent sometimes. Now, unfortunately was one of those times, and that was very bad because at any time, Demyx could be leaving. The taller man smiled at him sweetly, leaning over him and pressing their sweaty skin together before kissing him. They were in Zexion's bed and the man couldn't help but wonder if this would last, afraid because Naminé was well now.

"What's wrong Zexion, why are you upset?" he asked softly. The man blushed. Demyx seemed to have a knack for knowing how he was feeling. He took a deep breath, his eyes locking with aquamarine.

"Demyx… I spoke to Axel and… I want you to know that I don't want to keep you if you don't want to be kept," he told Demyx taking his face in his hands, making the blond's eyebrows furrow in confusion, "but I just want you to stay… I can't help it."

"What are you talking about Zex?" Demyx asked, making Zexion feel stupid. He could never say what he wanted to, to Demyx, without sounding like an idiot. Demyx kissed him reassuringly and he had Zexion groaning pleasurably as he stole his breath away.

"I want so much for you to be here with me and I want you so much that I can't think about anything else." Their eyes met and Demyx's were wide. "You can come and go as you please… but please, don't go, I don't want you or Naminé to leave," he murmured softly, his face reddening. Demyx smiled, kissing him again.

"Okay, we won't," he murmured back, his fingers running through the smaller man's silky hair, giving him a huge smile. Zexion blinked in disbelief. Could it truly be that easy? Demyx chuckled. "Silly, there's no place I'd rather be than here, with you. I just don't want you to feel like you have to take care of us. You've already done more than enough."

Zexion smiled at Demyx and it took the blond's breath away. With a grin, they came together, their lips and bodies pressing together. The smaller man pressed his forehead to Demyx's.

"I don't think I'm going to ever let you go. I want to keep you for forever." The blond's eyes slid shut and he smiled contentedly.

"Sounds perfect to me."
